Xsql command-line hangs after inserting

Hi,
i try to insert 1200 xml documents with a batch file and the xsql command. The problem is that the command hangs sometimes. If I restart it with the the last document, works it fine again. But after 10 or 15 documents hangs it again. Whats the problem. I'm using xdk 9.0.0.1 with XSQL 1.0.4.3.

I found the error by my self. I've installed the 9.0.0.2A beta version. This version has this error. After the installation of 9.0.0.1 it works fine.

  • XSQL Command-Line, parameters with blanks

    Is it possible to use XSQL Command-Line with parameters containing blanks (space characters).
    In an URL parameter spaces can be encoded with "+" or "%20", but this does'nt seem to work with XSQL Command-Line parameters.
    -- Peter

    I can't make this work on Unix (solaris), but I can see it is a shell script problem, not a XSQL problem.
    The normal syntax for Unix shell script would be
    $ script.sh foo="one two"
    but the standard Oracle-supplied xsql unix shell script sets environment and passes all command-line parameters to the java program with
    oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLCommandLine $*
    and thereby the quotes disappear.
    The problem is not really big, since I could just do
    oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLCommandLine test.xsql "foo=one two"
    after setting classpath. Anyway, if anybody knows how to make the xsql script work with quoted parameters, let me know.

  • Xsql command line and stored PL/SQL procedures

    I have an xsql servlet that calls a stored procedure in an Oracle 8.1.7 DB to generate XML. The servlet then uses a custom action handler to write the XML output to a file on the webserver.
    This system works just fine through a web page interface. I am interesting in using the xsql command line interface to run the servlet as a nightly cron to keep the xml file up to date.
    It seems that the xsql command line interface cannot execute stored procedures.
    The xsql file is:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <page connection="studev" xmlns:xsql="urn:oracle-xsql">
    <xsql:include-owa subj="AR" bind-params="subj">
    studev.CTLGDSET.P_ADD_DEPT_DRIVER(?);
    </xsql:include-owa>
    <xsql:write-to-file file="{@subj}.xml" dir="{@dir}" base-tag="/page/SUBJECT/"/>
    </page>and the output written to the file is
    <?xml version = '1.0'?>
    <page xmlns:xsql="urn:oracle-xsql">
    <xsql:include-owa subj="AR" bind-params="subj">
    studev.CTLGDSET.P_ADD_DEPT_DRIVER(?);
    </xsql:include-owa>
    <xsql:write-to-file file="{@subj}.xml" dir="{@dir}" base-tag="/page/SUBJECT/"/>
    </page>Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.
    -Eric Dalquist

    Ok. I looked into the problem. The issue is that the Action Handler for <xsql:include-owa> conditionally passes on information about cookies and such to the OWA package context if you happen to be using XSQL through the Servlet interface.
    If you are not using XSQL through the servlet interface, things still work, but the class that implements the include-owa action handler still has a load-time dependency on the "servlet.jar" (even if you don't end up using it).
    So, the workaround is to add a copy of the Servlet SDK jar file "servlet.jar" to your CLASSPATH of the XSQL Command Line utility, and it works fine.
    XSQL 9.0.2 Beta (due out this week I believe on OTN) has been tested with FOP 0.18.1, but XSQL 1.0.4.3 Production and XSQL 9.0.1 production should both work with 0.18.1 as well.

  • XSQL Command Line Utility

    How do I access XSQL Command Line Utility as mentioned in the document like
    xsql <inputfile.xsql> <outputfile.xml>
    Thanx in advance...

    Look in ./xsql/bin with the 0.9.9.1 distribution. There is an xsql.bat and an xsql shell script to make this easier.
    In general, you need to:
    Make sure the following five entries
    are in your CLASSPATH
    ./xsql/lib/oraclexsql.jar
    ./xsql/lib/oraclexmlsql.jar
    ./xsql/lib/classes111.zip
    ./xsql/lib/xmlparserv2.jar
    ./xsql/lib
    Then run:
    java oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLCommandLine

  • Command line hangs when starting OC4J with MapViewer

    Hello,
    I have a simple development setup with a stand-alone oc4j instance installed via the MapViewer Quick Start Kit, on an 11g database, on a Windows XP workstation.
    The problem: When I start the oc4j instance everything seems to start up successfully - the AS Control, the MapViewer EAR, etc.., but the command line window hangs after the last command is executed. It does not return to the command prompt. And if I close the Command Prompt window the oc4j instance automatically shuts down. Any thoughts on why this is hanging? Or is this normal behavior? Thank you. The text of the startup is shown below.

  • XSQL DTD, XSQL command line, XSL parameters

    I have three quick XSQL questions:
    1. Is there a DTD available for XSQL? I'd like to feed it to Emacs' PSGML mode (http://www.lysator.liu.se/projects/about_psgml.html). What do you other Emacsers use to edit XSQL and XSL files?
    2. XSQL is working fine under Apache/jserv, but the command line isn't finding my DB connections as defined in XSQLConfig.xml:
    XSQL-004: Could not acquire a database connection named: lcbean@isis
    Does this mean XSQL couldn't find the connection description, or couldn't connect to it after finding it? It does use CLASSPATH to locate XSQLConfig.xml, right?
    3. I'm trying to use parameters in an XSL stylesheet as follows:
    <html xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xsl:version="1.0">
    <xsl:param name="store_code" select="'999'"/>
    <head><title>Test</title></head>
    <body><p><xsl:value-of select="$store_code"/></p></body>
    </html>
    But I keep getting:
    XSL-1031: Variable not defined: 'store_code'
    What am I missing?
    null

    [list=1]
    [*]No. Since XSQL action elements are allowed to appear anywhere in any well-formed XML document, you cannot really describe this in a DTD.
    [*]This means you put a connection="lcbean@isis" attribute on the document element of your XSQL page, but that it could not find a <connectiondef> for that name in XSQLConfig.xml (which is found successfully if it got this far!).
    [*] See Section 11.5 in the XSLT 1.0 specification. <xsl:param> must appear immediately at the top of a template before any literal result elements. This means that <xsl:param> cannot be used in a "simple-form" stylesheet. You can either use <xsl:variable> instead, or you'll have to change to the full-form of the <xsl:stylesheet> and place the <xsl:param> at the top-level of the stylesheet, outside of any <xsl:template>.
    [list]

  • XSQL command line parameters

    I have a situation where I am generating some XML from a query in an XSQL and I want to use some command line parameters. This ony seems to work inside queries, e.g. given the command line "xsql quote.xsql quotetype=carhire quotenum=123" this will substitute 123 for "{@quotenum}" given the command line and leave "{@quotetype}" untouched.
    <pre>
    <quote type="{@quotetype}">
    <xsql:query>
    select price from quotes where number={@quotenum}
    </xsql:query>
    </quote>
    </pre>
    Is there a way to substitute the {@quotetype} part in XSQL?

    I'm already using XSLT and I've put <xsl:param name="type"> in the stylesheet, but references to $type don't seem to get any result, e.g.
    <xsl:value-of select="$type"/> is blank
    and
    <xsl:if test="$type='carhire'">
    <xsl:text>car hire</xsl:text>
    </xsl:if>
    doesn't generate any output either, so either I've got my syntax for parameters wrong, or the parameters don't get passed from the XSQL front end to the XSLT back end.

  • Php command line fails after GD2 library install

    I installed GD2 following the instructions on osx.topicdesk.com.
    The installation was successful and the phpinfo() shows gdlib is
    installed. Using php through Apache works fine.
    However, when I try to use php from command line, it throws an
    exception. Even on php -v command as shown below
    admin$ php -v

    Referenced from: /usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/gd.so
    Expected in: dynamic lookup
    Trace/BPT trap
    Not sure how to resolve this problem. Looks like some library was not installed causing
    the issue. Any help in resolving this is much appreciated. Thank you.

    While I'm here, I'm also trying to build the mcrypt library and extension, but the same config as the jpeg lib results in:
    gcc-4.0: -E, -S, -save-temps and -M options are not allowed with multiple -arch flags
    make[3]: * [3-way.lo] Error 1
    make[2]: * [all-recursive] Error 1
    make[1]: * [all-recursive] Error 1
    make: * [all] Error 2
    Any comments on pear/pecl compatibility? I ran go-pear and had a go at installing apc - all appeared to build and install ok, but it just dies on apache startup:
    PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/apc.so' - (null) in Unknown on line 0
    I guess pecl needs to be told about the compiler flags to match Apple's build too.

  • Nokia 2710c-2 hangs after inserting pin

    Hi everybody,
    last evening my 2710c Navigator got battery went in battery low and then it turned off automatically.
    I recharged the battery but when I turn on my phone, it shows Nokia handshaking clip, asks me the pin, then hangs.
    I tried removing the battery but now the phone shows the set date and time page then freezes.
    I noticed that if I quickly press some keys it seems to respond but then freeze anyway.
    It seems that there is something (software) loading in background that goes in error and cause the freeze. I fear there is something on loading the themes.
    Also the USB connection to PC doesn't function because there is a drivers loading error (two devices remain undefined but several other like com ports and modem are correctly recognized).
    Please help me! I have all my contacts on the phone memory.

    Try inserting another SIM that does not require PIN code to work. Then tranfer your contacts to another device.

  • How to make Oracle program executed through windows XP command line.

    I know this thread may not be appropriate to be posted here. However, I couldn't find place to post this question. However, the question is related to Oracle program execution. So I post here for help.
    I creted a windows XP shell program to execute a few oracle program to refresh data on database. All oracle programs work very well. But the windows shell program is not working properly. I seek your input to solve this problem. Here is the basic windows shell script:
    set oracle_sid=mydb
    set MyDir=C:\refresh
    sqlplus -s username_1/password_1@mydb @%MyDir%\updt_table.sql
    exit
    sqlldr username_2/password_2@mydb control=C:\refresh\control_file_1.ctl
    sqlldr username_2/password_2@mydb control=C:\refresh\control_file_2.ctl
    sqlldr username_2/password_2@mydb control=C:\refresh\control_file_3.ctl
    sqlldr username_2/password_2@mydb control=C:\refresh\control_file_4.ctl
    sqlldr username_2/password_2@mydb control=C:\refresh\control_file_5.ctl
    set oracle_sid=mydb
    set MyDir=C:\refresh
    sqlplus -s username_2/password_2@mydb @%MyDir%\refresh_table.sql
    exit
    The problem is: The first sqlplus is to connect to username_1. after windows shell execute and finish updt_table.sql as well as exit from that db schema, it suppose to go to next sql loader command line to login as username_2 to start sql loader control file to load data. The actual situation is: command line hang on at first "exit" and didn't login username_2 to do sql loader work. Please advise me where the problem is and how to fix it. Thanks for your kind help.

    krystian:
    I have tried this before I post for help. If I moved "exit" after updt_table.sql, the shell only finish the first part of command to update one table. Then windows shell hang on there and do nothing. It didn't go to login as username_2 to execute sql loader control files. This is where the problem is. How to force the windwos shell log into as username_2 to do next step? Thanks again.

Please can somebody show me how to make it working again. Here are the details about my problem

  • Latest DNG converter not working in command-line mode

    Today I downloaded Adobe's latest DNG converter. It is failing with both .NEF and .CR2 files when run in command-line mode. It does appear to work in GUI mode. The switches+arguments I've used for my tests are:
    -u -e -p1 filename.CR2
    (or filename.NEF)
    With an older (CS2) version of the converter, the above arguments produce a .DNG output file as expected (with .CR2 files; I didn't try it with D3 .NEF files; surely that older version doesn't support the D3's format).
    With the very latest version, running the program with the above command produces no output. There's no error message.
    The 'readme' file that comes with the converter doesn't include any information about command-line usage, but I did find a PDF file covering this (adobe.com/products/dng/pdfs/dng_commandline.pdf). The switches+arguments shown in the PDF file appear to be exactly the ones I used in the past.
    I'm sure I'll need to use the most recent version to convert D3 RAW files. Is there something wrong with how I'm specifying its command-line switches/arguments?

    It struck me silly that I've been running tests with v.3.3 when 5.2 is the latest, so I downloaded it. The setup "wizard"...hmm, why is it a "wizard"? It provides no choice of installation path. I didn't realize this because immediately after I'd launched it, I knocked something onto the floor, reached down to pick it up ... and looked back up just in time to see the "wizard" complete the installation...but where, I didn't know. It didn't display any information about where it had installed the app. Adventures In Discoverability. :) I hunted around on the hard drive until I found it (C:\Program Files\Adobe -- well, at least you can launch it if you think to look for it in the 'Start' menu). So ... that needs a bit of work. Anyway, I copied the app into a directory of my choice -- one that's in my system's %PATH%, replacing spaces in the name with underscores. It works fine in that directory -- no problem with the name-change as far as I can tell. Now back to the fun stuff...
    This version doesn't seem to require a fully qualified path to the input file or to the output directory when "-d" is used. That's an improvement. IOW, this worked:
    converter -p1 -d DNG filename
    where "converter" is the program's name, "DNG" is the name of a subdirectory of the directory where I'm running the test, and "filename" is the name of a RAW file in that directory.
    The program still doesn't know how to create a directory (or ask about creating one if it doesn't exist). Fails silently if "-d" is used and the specified directory doesn't exist. But at least this version returns an exit code of 1 due to the failure -- better than returning 0.
    Still doesn't understand wildcards. Hope done sprang eternal there for a moment, but oh well. Back to "for" loops...
    Still fails silently, returning exit code 0 (oops), if a nonsensical command-line is used (e.g., using "-c" as the only argument).
    Hey, how about a truly silly command-line error -- a command line including both "-c" and "-u". What happens? It "consumes" the first of the two mutually exclusive switches, ignoring the second -- you get a compressed DNG file. Swap the order of the switches, and you get an uncompressed file. (I'd vote for a syntax-error message in that case, m'self.)
    Interestingly strange little program...If I run it from the command line, it drops back to the command line immediately after I press ENTER. That makes it appear to have failed. But it hasn't -- it's running in the background, and a few seconds later the DNG file is created. But, if I run it from within a batch file, it does NOT return control to me until it has completed writing the output file. Wonder what's up with that.

    How to execute the OWB projects/modules/objects from command line.
    After creation of objects for particular module (source, target, mapping and transformations...etc.,) in OWB, is there any command-line utility to execute that module from command-line instead of OEM, so that any another application can invoke the ETL process.

    Jagan,
    Check out the sqlplus_exec_template.sql in <owb home>\owb\rtp\sql. You can run this from the command line.
    Thanks,
    Mark.
