XSQLServlet and MM.MySQL JDBC drivers?

Anyone have this configuration working? I am receiving a ClassCastException:
java.lang.ClassCastException: org.gjt.mm.mysql.Connection
Not sure where to begin trying to fix this one. This is with the MM.MySQL 1.2c release version.

Thanks Steve. Worked as advertised. Missed that post. You may wish to consider updating the XSQLServlet release notes with this information.
Thanks again.
This problem is fixed by upgrading the version of the XML SQL Utility that ships with XSQL 1.0.0.0 to the latest version of that subcomponent, release 1.2.1 of XSU.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

  • Mysql jdbc drivers not found in weblogic server

    I want to create a connection pool in weblogic server,

    Can anybody tell me why,thanks!

    Weblogic has been designed for nannies...
    I've developed a application which uses internally my own jdbc-driver.
    After months of really hard work on tomcat (the application works fine) I've tried migrate it to weblogic.
    But ...
    In weblogic seems mandatory to put the jdbc drivers out of the war!!!. Brilliant!!!
    If I move the driver out, I need move the 50% of the application out, also!
    If I move part of the application out, nothing works, because... are the class loaders distinct?. And I'll need to do a lot of extra work because one day one weblogic architect had a great great inspiration.
    In the future I'll suggest to my customers to run and not stop when they listen the WEBLOGIC word.

  • Mysql jdbc drivers with tomcat?

    I am having trouble getting mySQL drivers to work on Tomcat. I have used the driver before with iPlanet Web Server, but I can't seem to get it to work with Tomcat. I am getting this error:
    org.apache.jasper.JasperException: In <driver>, invalid driver class name: "org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver"
    The jar for the driver is in my WEB-INF/lib directory of my webapp. Seems like it isn't picking up the jar in the classpath. It was my understanding that jars in this dir were loaded automatically. Is there some way to log the classpath loaded in Tomcat?

    run this in one of your jsps and see whats in your classpath.
    System.getProperty("java.class.path",".");
    I've never a had a problem with it before, but I'm using
    mysql-connector-java-2.0.14

  • Configure OC4J with other JDBC Drivers

    I want to add ability for OC4J to use mySQL JDBC drivers.
    Normally in the J2EE RI you would copy the driver and then use the j2eeadmin tool.
    Does anyone have info on getting this to work in OC4J (so I can test EJBs that use that DB).
    Note: I did get mySQL working for the JDeveloper9i IDE to get it to work in the IDE I just added a line to C:\jdev9i_902\jdev\binjdev.conf:
    AddJavaLibFile C:/mm.mysql-2.0.14/mm.mysql-2.0.14-bin.jar

  • MySQL jdbc speed

    Hello,
    I have a code - see below - which collects all fields of the available database tables. My problem is that this takes ~1sec with a Delphi code, but it takes ~15-20sec with the java implementation. It seems a little bit slow for me.
    I made some performance tests and it seems that most of the time are spent in com.mysql.jdbc.ResultSet and com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.
    These 2 classes takes ~70% of the execution time. I use permanent connection. Is it possible to improve the speed with any trick?
    Thanks!
    My function wich is called for every database table:
       public ArrayList getFields(String tableName){
            logger.entry("getFields begin",this);
            ResultSet rs        = null;
            JFieldModel field   = null;
            ArrayList fieldList = new ArrayList();
            logger.info("Actual DB: "+database,this);
            String sqlStmt = "show full fields from "+tableName;
            rs  = executeSQL(sqlStmt);
            try{
                while (rs.next()){
                    field = new JFieldModel();
                    field.setDbFieldName(rs.getString(1));
                    field.setDbFieldType(rs.getString(2));
                    field.setDbFieldNull(rs.getBoolean(3));
                    field.setDbFieldDefault(rs.getString(5));
                    fieldList.add(field);
            catch (Exception e){
                logger.error("getFields() - Exception during read",this,e);
            logger.exit("getFields end",this);
            return fieldList;
        }

    There is no ability to run this on the command line, outside of Java and Delphi to get best case performance, which would be helpful, but not conclusive of anything.
    The cursor types are identical (forward only / read only).
    You are running the exact same queries that bring back the exact same results, so they will take the identical resources and time to execute on the database server(s).
    You have determined that there is no issue with data conversion, which I believe is done by the ResultSet Object (where you are spending all your time).
    Both the Delphi program and the Java program are executing on the same computer, so there is no difference in network latency, there is no difference in available CPU or memory and there is no difference in local disk access.
    You are using similar if not the exact same logic in your Java and Delphi programs.
    You have determined that Java ArrayList is not the cause of any slowdown.
    You have ruled out the majority of issues that I know of that would have a profound effect on performance. With this test case, as is, I would say that Delphi is in fact 10x faster then Java when doing this task.
    Having said that, it is very unusual for similar implementations to have this large of a performance discrepancy. Given similar circumstances, I personally would continue to research this because something of this magnitude is either a bug or a misunderstanding in the API. Unfortunately, in the test case as described, I don't have a trick that will increase Java / JDBC performance by 10x.
    That doesn't mean others in this forum cannot offer better consul, but given the information provided, I don't have much to offer.

  • Update of MySQL and SQL Server JDBC Driver does not work in 1.2.1

    Hi,
    always after the update process is started i got the MySQL and SQL Server JDBC driver
    update notification.
    But all the time after i install the update i got the notification again but no errormessage
    that the update was maybe not successful ???
    Frank

    Ok
    then my subject was false
    i always try to update the extensions and now i can see that they are updated on the filesystem but the IDE does not recognize them as updated
    ....\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\extensions\oracle.sqldeveloper.thirdparty.drivers.mysql
    is available and new after the update process
    and under
    ...\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\tmp\update\oracle.sqldeveloper.thirdparty.drivers.mysql.5239.zip
    the downloaded zip file is also available.
    In the update window the message is that the extension with version 5206 is available
    Maybe that is the problem cause the downloaded files are version 11.1.1.5239
    if you look at the bundle.xml file inside the META-INF directory

  • JAR files for SQLJ and JDBC drivers: what is the best practice?

    starting a migration from IAS 10 to WebLogic 11g.
    Apparently the jar files for SQLJ are not on the classpath by default.
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sqlj/runtime/ref/DefaultContextwhich is the better practice: putting the SQLJ runtime jar into the lib subdirectory of the domain directory, or using a shared library reference? (usage of SQLJ is pretty prevalent in our apps, though we may be getting away from it)
    are the Oracle JDBC drivers on the classpath by default?
    if not, then the same question: put them into the lib subdirectory of the domain directory, or use a shared library reference?

    I'm looking at the setDomainEnv, especially the big note at the top:
    >
    # WARNING: This file is created by the Configuration Wizard.
    # Any changes to this script may be lost when adding extensions to this configuration.
    >
    and am getting squeamish about editing it...
    http://www.bea-weblogic.com/how-do-i-disable-wls-automatically-adding-to-classpath.html looks like the default behaviour is for WebLogic to put $DOMAIN/lib;$WL_HOME/common/lib/ext;$WL_HOME/server/lib/ext on the classpath; there is also a reference to setting weblogic.ext.dirs= when starting weblogic (which means I set the WEBLOGIC_EXTENSION_DIRS environment variable).
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/programming/libraries.html#wp1067450 also refers at the bottom to using the domain /lib subdirectory.
    so am I correct that a good practice is to just put the jars I think I will globally need into $DOMAIN/lib, rather than putting them in $WL_HOME/common/lib/ext, $WL_HOME/server/lib/ext, or fiddling with the WEBLOGIC_EXTENSION_DIRS environment variable?

  • Any difference in the dbms and jdbc drivers btw oracle 8i lite and 9i lite

    Is there any significant difference between oracle 8i lite and oracle 9i lite in terms of database and jdbc drivers?
    If not, it may be better off using oracle8i.

    According to Oracle , 9i lite is more powerful than 8i Lite.
    one thing, 8i Lite is not certified for windows 2000.

  • JDBC Drivers compatability between Oracle and IBM WSAD 5.1.1

    I am using a DataAccessObject pattern. I discovered you can speed up your procesing with SELECT statments us using an OraclePreparedStatment and setting defineColumnType; thereby reducing the number of trips the SQL is sent to the database.
    Here is the code:
    ((OraclePreparedStatement)ps).defineColumnType(1, Types.BIGINT);'ps' is a PreparedStatement.
    However, at runtime, I am getting a class cast exception for the below reason. I am using WASD version 5.1.1. I was not aware IBM was using any specific classes in the JDBC drivers.

         at java.lang.Throwable.(Throwable.java)Could someone please explain this to me? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm not an WSAD expert to be honest, but it's quite possible they are using their own wrappers. Check out what calls you can make on their ps wrapper or more likely conn wrapper - they may have some type of getWrappedConnection functionality as other vendor(s) do in which case you can, eg, cast the connection to OracleConnection and go from there.

  • SAP BI 4.0 SP2 on Linux and Postgresql Datasource via JDBC drivers

    Hi,
    I installed SAP BI Platform 4.0 SP2 on Redhat 5.2 and i try to access as a universe datasource a postgresql database (v8.4). But i don't know how to configure the postgresql JDBC driver on linux server.
    does anyone have a step by step procedure to configure this JDBC postgresql driver on linux ?
    I download this driver : http://jdbc.postgresql.org/download/postgresql-8.4-703.jdbc3.jar
    I read the SAP Data Access document for SAP BI 4.0 SP2 about JDBC connexions, they talk about a SBO file located in $ROOT_DIR/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/dataAccess/connectionServer/jdbc , but there isn't any SBO file for postgresql database ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
    I found a solution alone, this note 1347514 helps me :
    My conf : Redhat 5.2 + SAP BI 4.0 SP2 + postgresql 8.4 datasource + jdbc drivers
    My solution :
    1) Download JDBC drivers on client side (http://jdbc.postgresql.org/download/postgresql-8.4-703.jdbc3.jar)
    2) Create and export a JDBC connexion for postgresql8
    3) Create and export a universe using this connexion (test a query in universe design tool tools/Querybuilder)
    4) install JDBC drivers on server side, i copied the jar file in this location : $ROOT_DIR/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/dataAccess/connectionServer/drivers/java/postgresql-8.4-703.jdbc3.jar
    5) Set your classpath in your .profile : CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:/export/logiciels/tes-boxi/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/dataAccess/connectionServer/drivers/java/postgresql-8.4-703.jdbc3.jar; export CLASSPATH
    6) Source your .profile
    7) Restart servers (i think restarting only webi server would be ok)
    8) Open BI LaunchPad, start Webi and execute a query on postgresql universe
    It Works with my configuration
    Thanks for your help

  • Mm.mysql JDBC Driver and the WHERE clause

    Anybody has succesfully performed a MySQL/JDBC query in a JSP application using more than one variable in the WHERE clause?
    It works fine when I run queries with one fixed value assigned to a column and one variable assigned to the other column in the WHERE clause; but when I do it with more than one variable in the WHERE clause, it screws up throwing an error.
    I wonder if it is a code error, a syntax error or if it is something tricky about the mm.mysql JDBC Driver. Following is a section of the code and the error. The variables are s_description and s_status. I read some examples in a book but they use SQL Server. Thank you in advance for any information.
    CODE:
    <% String sqlStatement = "" ; %>
    <% String s_description = "Mexican Style Rice" ; %>
    <% String s_status = "available" ; %>
    <% java.sql.Statement stmt = con.createStatement(java.sql.ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, java.sql.ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE); %>
    <% java.sql.ResultSet rs ; %>
    <% sqlStatement = "SELECT code, description, status FROM products WHERE products.description =" + s_description + " AND products.status =" + s_status + ";" ;%>
    <% rs = stmt.executeQuery(sqlStatement); %>
    <% rs.beforeFirst(); %>
    <% while (rs.next()) { %>
    <% rs.updateString(3, "sold"); %>
    <% rs.updateRow(); %>
    <% }%>
    <% rs.close(); %>
    This is the ERROR it throws

    I think perhaps this sentence has problems:
    <% sqlStatement = "SELECT code, description, status FROM products WHERE products.description =" + s_description + " AND products.status =" + s_status + ";" ;%>
    You can
    <% sqlStatement = "SELECT code, description, status FROM products WHERE products.description ='" + s_description + "' AND products.status = '" + s_status + "'" ;%>
    You perhaps ignore the when using String variable s_description and s_status.
    Hope this will help you. Good lucky!

    From the linux-shell I can connect to the database with mysql:

    But when I try to connect from the Java-program I recieve the following error:
    [root@dat test]# java TestDB

    The program Is very simple:

    the password you have listed as what you use fromthe
    shell vs. what you have in yoour code are not the
    same. they need to be the same.
    other than that make sure you user account in mysqlis
    set up to accept connections from wherever you needit
    to. Thanks,
    The passwords are the same - I just didn't show it in
    the copied text. Actually the shell-dialog is:
    From the linux-shell I can connect to the database
    with mysql:
    [root@dat test]# mysql -u speciale -p specialetestDB
    password: x
    sorry my fault, but it probably was worth checking
    But what you said about my user accounts might be the
    problem In the mysql.user tabel I have 3 instances of
    the "speciale" user, each with a different host: "%",
    "dat" and "localhost".
    Is that what you ment?
    yes. it is possible that the passwords are not the same. so the password for speciale from localhost is not the same as from % or dat. why don't you delete the dat and localhost ones and just leave the % one.

  • Appropriate JDBC drivers for 7.0 version and SP16

    Hi all
    we are using XI 7.0 SP 16.
    what type/verion of JDBC drivers should be used for database connectivity?
    while i was going through "How to install external JDBC Drivers" it was suggesting to use
    Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g:
    ojdbc14.jar
    u2022 Microsoft SQL Server:
    msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar
    (in screen shots  as well it was showing he was using msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar and ojdbc14.jar)
    should we use both ojdbc14.jar and msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar or else one of them would be sufficient?
    Is OJDBC a type 4 and type 2 driver?
    Full Points are guaranteed
    Regards
    Bhasker

    Hi,
    You have to use ojdbc14.jar or classes12.zip/.jar for Oracle and msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar for Microsoft SQL Server. Thus both are required to be deployed on J2EE server.
    And Oracle JDBC is a type 4 driver.
