XSU returning nested VARCHAR2 data as HEX ASCII

Hello,
I am using Oracle XDK (xdk_java_9_2_0_1_0) against Oracle 9.0.1. I've defined an object view with nested objects. I am running an XSU against that view. The XML that it returns displays the character data in the outer view correctly as characters. All the character data from the nested objects are displayed as hexadecimal ASCII. All the character data are defined as VARCHAR2 in the underlying tables.
This is the excerpt of the XML output:
<?xml version = '1.0'?>

What may cause such a transformaton and how to avoid it?
Thank you.

this issue happens because your webserver servlet CLASSPATH environment variables set misses national charset classes which are contained in nls_charset12.zip package from Oracle JDBC driver 1.2
Add something like following string (this one is extraction from Jserv conf file), and everything''ll work fine.
wrapper.classpath=...\lib\nls_charset12.zip

  • Data import from ASCII file : javasript to determine correct account

    Hi,
    I am importing data from an ASCII file and need to use a conversion file with javascript to determine the correct account depending on the amount I am importing.
    As an example:
    If external account B4711 carries an amount of 1000 it needs to be imported into internal account A890, if it carries an amount of -1000 it needs to be imported into internal account B890.
    I have the VB script to do this in the MS version but am struggling with the javascript for the NW version.
    In the transformation file, the account is the amount from the load file, the string | and the account from the load file. In my example I would get either 1000|B4711 or -1000|B4711. This part works fine.
    The conversion file looks like this:
    external                  internal                                                                     formula
    *|B4711                 *IF(js:%external%.substring(0,1)=- then B890; A890)
    The idea is, that if the first character is the minus sign, the conversion will return account B890, if it is any other character the conversionwill return A890. The actual result is that all data is imported into the account A890 irrespective of the amount (both positive and negative amounts).
    Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks,
    Arnold

    Hi Arnold,
    Oh no! I thought this was going in the Formula column. I don't know how I got that idea.
    So, I reviewed the documentation ([http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bpc75_nw/helpdata/en/81/94a8a5febd40268d5c59b4fc31be37/frameset.htm]) and you are correct that you should be able to use JS with the *IF statement - I was incorrect about that, at least according to the docs. In your original JS you probably just needed to use == instead of = and then put the minus sign in double-quotes
    They also give an example of how to do it without JS, which I guess would look like
    *If(%external%=-* then 242000; 128000)
    So, that might work as well, though I'm not sure about how it's going to handle that minus sign.

  • Nested XML data set

    Hi there,
    I have a problem with displaying some nested XML data. I've
    tried quite a lot of different approachey to this, but just can't
    get it working properly. So here's the deal:
    I have an XML file (which is dynamically created from a
    servlet) of the form:
    <variations>
    <variation>
    <name>...</name>
    <...>...</...>
    <links>
    <link>
    <type>...</type>
    <name>...</name>
    </link>
    </links>
    </variation>
    </variations>
    On my webpage, I use a Spry tabbed panel with one tab for
    each of the 'variation's in the XML file. Within the tabs I have
    (many) form fields dynamically filled with the values from the XML
    and that all works fine, but I also want to display a table with
    one row corresponding to each 'link'... and that just won't work...
    My latest approach looks something like this:
    <head>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var dsVariations = new
    Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("Servlet?id=1&cmd=getVariations",
    "variations/variation");
    var dsLinks = new
    Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("Servlet?id=0&cmd=getLinks",
    "links/link");
    //-->
    </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <div id="TabbedPanels1" spry:region="dsVariations">
    <div id="TP1" class="TabbedPanels">
    <ul class="TabbedPanelsTabGroup">
    <li spry:repeat="dsVariations" class="TabbedPanelsTab"
    tabindex="0">{dsVariations::name}</li>
    </ul>
    <div class="TabbedPanelsContentGroup">
    <div spry:repeat="dsVariations"
    class="TabbedPanelsContent">
    // a lot of form stuff
    <table border="1">
    <script type="text/javascript">
    dsLinks.setURL("Servlet?id={dsVariations::id}&cmd=getLinks");
    dsLinks.loadData();
    </script>
    <tr spry:repeat="dsLinks">
    <td>{dsLinks::type}</td>
    <td>{dsLinks::name}</td>
    </tr>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </div>
    </div>
    </body>
    In this, the Servlet call with cmd=getVariations returns the
    whole XML stated above, while the cmd=getLinks will only get the
    corresponding part (everything between <links> and
    </links>).
    The error message I get for this is: processTokens() failed
    to get a data set context!.
    I previously tried to use a NestedXMLDataSet, but couldn't
    get that working either... I'm really kind of stuck by now and
    would appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Florian
    PS Thanks a lot for creating Spry: It's great!

    Thanks for your reply, Cristian.
    I'm afraid I couldn't do that since it would cause the whole
    region to be reloaded constantly (because it's being updated each
    time I do the setURL / loadData)... in fact, I tried this before
    and it didn't work.
    But, in fact, I figured that the fact that I could not get it
    running using a NestedXMLDataSet (as I would generally prefer), did
    not actually come down to a problem in the page source code, but
    actually to a problem with the very XML itself:
    I tried to recreate the simple nested data set example (
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/data_region/NestedDataSample.html)
    and basically used the same code and an almost identical XML
    structure... yet it doesn't work. The contents of dsFeatures just
    won't be displayed and when I'm inspecting the contents of
    dsFeatures (using Firebug) it shows me that the dataset is empty. I
    just don't get why it works for your example, but not for my
    modified version... I can't see any crucial difference :-s.
    To simplify the problem I deleted most tags from the XML and
    saved it in a static document "variations.xml":
    <variations>
    <variation>
    <name>Var 1</name>
    <features>
    <feature>none</feature>
    <feature>feat1</feature>
    <feature>feat2</feature>
    </features>
    </variation>
    <variation>
    <name>Var 2</name>
    <features>
    <feature>none</feature>
    </features>
    </variation>
    </variations>
    The source of the test page would be:

  • Using Non-destructive filter with Nested XML data

    Hi,
    How do you use Non-destructive filter with Nested XML data?
    I am using the non-destructive filter sample with my own xml which is setup to search for the <smc></smcs> in my xml below. But when i test it it only searches the last row of the "smc". How can i make it work so it can search for repeating nodes? or does it have something to with how my xml is setup?

    I really need help on this, or are there any other suggestions or samples that might work?
    thank you!

    I apologize, im using Spry XML Data Set. i guess the best way to describe what im trying to do is, i want to use the Non-desctructive filter sample with the Spry Nested XML Data sample. So with my sample xml on my first post and with the same code non-destructive filter is using, im having trouble trying to search repeating nodes, for some reason it only searches the last node of the repeating nodes. Does that make sense? let me know.
    thank you Arnout!

  • Query to return next 7 dates

    Hello,
    is there a way to return the next 7 dates just using a query... for example, I need a query that returns:
    select (I don't know that put here) from dual
    Date
    2012-10-05
    2012-10-06
    2012-10-07
    2012-10-08
    2012-10-09
    2012-10-10
    2012-10-11
    If possible, I would like to know if there's a way to pass a date and based on it, the query returns the next 7 dates based on the passed date... for example:
    select (I don't know that put here) from dual where date > '2012-10-15'
    Date
    2012-10-16
    2012-10-17
    2012-10-18
    2012-10-19
    2012-10-20
    2012-10-21
    2012-10-22
    I really appreciate any help
    Thanks

    In your case you can simply do this
    with inputdata as (select to_date('2012-10-15','yyyy-mm-dd') startday from dual)
    select startday+1 from inputdata union all
    select startday+2 from inputdata union all
    select startday+3 from inputdata union all
    select startday+4 from inputdata union all
    select startday+5 from inputdata union all
    select startday+6 from inputdata union all
    select startday+7 from inputdata ;
    Running your alternative for 10,000 dates took quite some time to create, needed to be put in a file to execute and has been running now for about 15 minutes
    select date '2012-10-15' + 1 from dual union all
    select date '2012-10-15' + 2 from dual union all

    select date '2012-10-15' + 9999 from dual union all
    select date '2012-10-15' + 10000 from dual
    ;It is much more code, takes more time to write, is proven to be incredibly slow and shouldn't be used for real production code.

  • What are possible ways to return the raw data in the corresponding cell of another sheet?

    Numbers on iMac under Maverick. For each sheet in a spreadsheet (Numbers file) I have provided a corresponding sheet (to replace it). In the new sheet I want to insert a formula referencing the corresponding cell in the new sheet, but so that I can delete the original sheet. If the formula referencing the cells in the original sheet returns the resultant data in place of the formula, this will enable me to use this method to work through a largish file (and others like it) with comparative ease. Can this be done, for example, by stipulating a particular format for the recipient cell?

    DBCCCHECKDB('DBNAME',REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS)
    For crying out loud! Don't you have any shame!
    There are situations where you may have to run DBCC CHECKDB with the option REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS, but it is not the first thing you shold try if the database seems to be corrupt. Particularly, you should first make sure that you work on a copy of the database
    files. REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS means that DBCC CHECKDB has carte blanche to throw all pages it can piece together - which could be about all data pages if it is that bad.
    Corruption siuations are very difficult to assist with in forums, because there can be a lot of stake. The only advice I can give is to restore the database from a clean backup. If you don't have a clean backup, you have a problem. The database may still
    be saved, but you need an expert on site to help you, if you have never worked with this before. Advice given in this forum applied haphazardly can result in more damage that you already have.
    But, oh, one thing: this type of corruption are always due to hardware errors like bad disks or bad memory sticks. So just restoring the database is not enough. Finding new hardware is important too.

    Actually on the same disk there are other Databases Stored and they work Properly and Backup also can be taken for that Databases. But, for this particular database only this error is happening when iam trying to take backup. But data retrieval and access to

  • Get-Hotfix InstalledOn property not returning hotfix installed Date and Time on Windows Server 2008 SP2 but works on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

    Hi,
          I am working on a validation script to get the list of hotfixes installed on Domain Controllers every month as part of our monthly DC patching process. I have been successful in getting these details for DC's with (Windows Server 2008
    R2 SP1, Powershell v2.0) using the below command.
    Get-HotFix -cn $computer | Select-Object PSComputerName,HotFixID,Description,InstalledBy,InstalledOn | where InstalledOn -ge (Get-Date -Day 1 -Format d) | FT -AutoSize
    I execute the above from a jump box with powershell v4.0 (Server 2008 R2)
    However, when I try the same command from the jump box to query DC's with (Server 2008 SP2, powershell v2.0). It doesn't return the InstalledOn date and time. It was giving error for the InstalledOn property and hence I renamed it to $_.InstalledOn. Now
    I don't get error but still no details displayed for InstalledOn property.
    I tried using the below, as could see on few forums that this might resolve the issue. I also tried removing the "where" part but still no installation date returned.
    Get-HotFix -cn $computer | Select-Object HotFixID, Description, InstalledBy, @{l="InstalledOn";e={[DateTime]::Parse($_.psbase.properties["installedon"].value,$([System.Globalization.CultureInfo]::GetCultureInfo("en-US")))}}
    | where {$_.InstalledOn -ge (Get-Date -Day 1 -Format d)} | FT -AutoSize
    Have tried this locally on the 2008 SP2 DC but still not working. Please advise what is going wrong?
    Note: If I execute the below command locally on the 2008 SP2 DC, I am getting the InstalledOn output. However, when executed from the jump box with powershell v4.0 (Server 2008 R2) to query
    the same 2008 SP2 DC, it just gives the prompt again without any error or output. This behavior is consistent for other 2008 SP2 DC's in the environment.
    Get-HotFix -cn $computer | Select-Object HotfixID,Description,InstalledBy,InstalledOn | where {$_.InstalledOn -ge (Get-Date -Day 1 -Format d)} | FT -AutoSize

    Hi jrv, I have already tried the Win32_QuickFixEngineering option, which doesn't work either. Apologies for not mentioning the workarounds that I have already tried.
    Get-Hotfix seems to be just a wrapper for Win32_QuickFixEngineering as per the below article. (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh849836.aspx)
    I have seen a mention of using the WU ActiveX control on few forums, but was too lazy to read it through.
    After rigorous testing, it makes me realize that somewhere the Get-Hotfix dates formatting\comparison isn't working.

  • Working With Nested XML Data

    Hello,
    I'm doing my best to create a page in Dreamweaver CS4 utilizing Spry datasets and, I hope, a valid nested XML file. What I want to do is use one XML file that provides the content for my nav div and my content div. It would, in essence, display as an outline. When a user clicks on an item in the nav div the content would be displayed. What I'm guessing would work for the XML file would be this format:
    <content>
      <topic name="Elements">   //--this would serve as the nav element and trigger
        <header>Non-editable</header>   //--this would serve as a header in the content area
        <info>
          <detail id="1">CSS, javascript</detail>   //--this would serve as detail under the headers in the content area.
          <detail id="2">Headers</detail>
          <detail id="3">Footers</detail>
          <detail id="4">Areas within navigation panel</detail>
        </info>
      </topic>
    </content>
    I got the idea from this page in Live Docs: Create a Spry nested data set. Also from a Labs page called Nested XML Data Sample. I've been able to make various parts of the page work but I don't know what is broken. My issues are this:
    I once saw but can no longer find a method for preventing redundant display of data. In this case, the nav elements which are attributes in my XML file.
    The details are showing up in my content area. I must be doing the code for the nesting incorrectly.
    I want to then use the details in the content area to trigger spry tooltips, the content for whih would be genereated from an XML file or HTML frags.
    Here is my latest, ill-fated attempt:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:spry="http://ns.adobe.com/spry">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    <title>Menu - Content Example</title>
    <link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryNestedXMLDataSet.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="SpryAssets/xpath.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryData.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="SpryAssets/SpryStackedContainers.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var dsContent5 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("navigation/content5.xml", "content/topic", {useCache: false});
    var dsInfo = new Spry.Data.NestedXMLDataSet(dsContent5, "info/detail");
    //-->
    </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <div id="wrapper">
      <div id="header">
        <h1>CSU Website Clinic</h1>
        <h3>Bill Milhoan, IS&amp;T Technical Trainer</h3>
      </div>
      <div id="content" spry:region="dsInfo">
        <ul spry:repeatchildren="dsInfo">
          <li>{dsContent5::info}</li>
        </ul>
      </div>
      <div class="nav" spry:region="dsContent5">
        <ul spry:repeatchildren="dsContent5" spry:choose="">
          <li spry:when="{dsContent5::ds_CurrentRowID} == {dsContent5::ds_RowID}" spry:setrow="dsContent5" spry:select="select" spry:hover="hover" spry:selected="">{dsContent5::@name}</li>
          <li spry:default="" spry:setrow="dsContent5" spry:select="select" spry:hover="hover">{dsContent5::@name}</li>
        </ul>
      </div>
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>
    Thoughts? My hope is to distill this process so I can teach others how to do it in the hopes that they will find it easier to keep their department/program websites up-to-date.
    Thanks for the help.

  • How can I return the current Date in Java?

    I am new to Java, and basically I want to know how I can return the current date as a variable, so for example, I have declared the following date variable
    private java.util.Date currentDate;How can I return the current date, do I have to write a method? To be more specific, I need to write a setMethod, that simply returns the current Date in Java.
    Please point me in the right direction.
    Thanks,

    If all you want is a date for printing or displaying, the easiest way is to use Date as shown below. If you need something more complex, look at the Calendar API.
    import java.util.Date;
    class DateEx
         public static void main(String args[])
              Date now = new Date();
              System.out.println(now);
    }

  • Xml-fragment Issue retrieving Nested element data

    Hi,
    I've problem retrieving the nested element data from the xml. Using XmlBeans I am getting null when retriving the inner element. I printed the nested element xmlobject it has Xml-Fragment wrapped. I tired using below code it doesn't throw any error but the data is lost
    AAAA TempObj=AAAA.getBXXX().getCXXX(0);
    //remove xml fragment
    XmlOptions xmlOpt = new XmlOptions();
    xmlOpt.setSaveOuter();
    XmlCursor c= TempObj.newCursor();
    c.toFirstChild();
    Myclass myclassObj= Myclass.Factory.parse(c.getObject().xmlText(xmlOpt));
    log.debug("Records: "+myclassObj .getXXArray().length);
    Output:
    length should give aleast 1 or more but I am getting 0. That means the xmltext didn't parse properly.
    Can anybody suggest what could be the problem.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Storing VARCHAR2 data into CLOB in Oracle 8i

    I have a variable in PL/SQL of data type CLOB. And there is another variable of type VARCHAR2. How can i assign the value in the VARCHAR2 data type to CLOB data type.
    The version iam trying to do this is
    Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.2.1
    Thanks,
    Karthick.

    This system has been build already. And this one is for some testing purpose. Any way i have given a temporary solution for them with a temp table.
    SQL> create table t (col clob)
      2  /
    Table created.
    SQL> declare
      2     lClob Clob;
      3     lVar Varchar2(100) := rpad('*',100,'*');
      4  begin
      5     insert into t values(lVar);
      6     select col into lClob from t;
      7     dbms_output.put_line(dbms_lob.substr(lClob,100,1));
      8  end;
      9  /
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.Thanks,
    Karthick.

  • Correction for Nested XML Data Sample

    I found an error in the sample code on the
    Nested
    XML Data Sample under "Using Nested Data Sets." Line 8 has
    var dsToppings = new Spry.Data.NestedXMLDataSet(dsItems1,
    "toppings");, but it should be
    var dsToppings = new Spry.Data.NestedXMLDataSet(dsItems1,
    "topping"); in order to match the XML file.
    Another suggestion for us newbies would be to have the
    samples start with a comment about any additional scripts we need
    to insert into our files. It took me a long time to realize I
    needed to include
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="scripts/SpryNestedXMLDataSet.js"></script> with
    the others in the head.
    Thanks for your work!
    Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,
    Thanks for catching that. I corrected the doc and the change
    will appear when we release 1.5.
    Also, regarding <script> includes sample, yes, we
    should definitely be doing that.
    Thanks!!!

  • Error in importing data from multiple ASCii files, Concatenate

    I am trying to use the "Importing Data From Multiple ASCII FIles.VBS" and the "Concatenate Groups.VBS" scripts downloaded from here, http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/3870. When I run the importing data script and test it by highlighting the example data that comes with the download I get an error. "Error in <Importing Data From Multiple ASCII Files.VBS> (Line:60, Column: 11):  Variabls is undefined: 'AscIIAssocSet'  "
    The offending line of code is "  Call AsciiAssocSet(FilePaths(i), StpFilePath) ' assign STP file    "
    Screenshots of the error are attached.
    Can anyone tell me what this error is?  Am I just doing something wrong? Getting quite frustrated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Please have a look at the DIAdem Example to concanate channels. Its delivered with DIAdem.
    Examples > Creating Scripts > Scripts > Appending Channels to Each Other
    Please use a dataplugin (File -> Text DataPlugin Wizard...) or the csv plugin to load your data.
    Greetings
    Andreas
    P.S.: The one you have downloaded needs the old Ascii Wizard that is not activated by default in newer DIAdem versions.
    If you want to use it anyway:
    Settings -> Options -> Extensions -> GPI Extensions ...
    Add gfsasci.dll
