XY Graph - minor grid style

Hi, is there a way to change the minor grid style on an XY graph?  Like making it a dotted or dashed line?  Thanks!

Hi akalei,
You can change the minor grid color either by right clicking on the graph, selecting Properties, and going to the Scales tab, or programmatically through a property node like in the screenshot I have attached.

  • How can I set a graph's minor grid spacing to look like a Hypertrend Graph?

    I can set the major grid spacing by specifying an array of axis markers, but there does not seem to be a way to set the minor grid spacing.  I would like to emulate the clean look of the Hypertrend Graphs which set the minor grid spacing to be 1/2 of the major grid.  You can use the graph axis range minor increment property but it will not let you set it less than 5 divisions per major grid.

    Hi sachsm,
    Is it a Waveform Graph or a XY Graph that you are working with? What are the specific values that you are trying to set for the major and minor grid divisions? I believe you should be able to set this up by inputting values for the X Scale Minor Increment and X Scale Increment properties. (Make sure to set the major increment before the minor increment) Attached is a screenshot showing the setup for a major increment of 10 and a minor increment of 5. Does this approach seem to work with your application?

  • How to remove minor grids on waveform graph

    how to remove minor grids on waveform graph

    Right-click on the graph and choose X Scale >> Format. In the Grid Options area, click on the left icon and choose the middle icon the pops-up. This shows only the major grid lines. The left choice shows no grid lines and the right choice shows both sets of grid lines. Now, do the same for the Y Scale.

  • Can we show / hide the minor grid in a graph programatically?

    I know how to do it statically and I know how to show / hide the major grid programatically. I am using labview 6.0.
    thanks

    thierry_d,
    This feature is not available in LabVIEW 6.0.x, but there is a minor grid color property in LabVIEW 6.1. If you really need this property, then I would suggest upgrading to LabVIEW 6.1.

  • Minor grid is not printing

    hello
    i made an XY graph with X axis in logarithmic scale. I need a graph of current graph from switch ON to OFF condition of heater supply. inital time it takes around 4A and at a stable condition it takes around 1A . it is drawing a graph wrt time of log variant. at the end save the graph as jpeg format of image depth 1( means BW graph image) write to image palette i am using.
    but in the image there is no minor grid. it saves only major grid . how to show the minor grid in the saved image.
    One example i can show you( actual one i cannot show)
    This is the difference between the graph and saved picture. Please help somebody
    if the image depth is to be increased it gives a color picture, i need bW picture for including in the test report
    thank u for helping

    Hi gireesh,
    Right click on the graph, go to "propeties", go to the scales tab, try changing the display colours of your major and minor axes on the graph. It may be as simple as the display colour for the minor scale is being converted to white in the colour to B\W conversion when you are outputing the graph.
    (I think I remember having the opposite problem, and having to change the colours in order to ensure they disapperead when printed. (dont forget to change the tick type to distinguish between major and minor in the B\W mode).
    I think this will work if memory serves me correctly.

  • Photo Gallery Grid style

    Is there a way to have a photo gallery on a web page but in the style of a grid instead of a slideshow? Im going to have a lot of photos and would like my clients to be able to scroll through them all.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    You can  either add the images individually or can use a Lightbox widget (if you wish to have the Lightbox effect).

  • Graph or plot style without frame?

    I would like to have a graph which has special(?) frame. The frame meas the gray thick frame around plot that contains axis title, lable and so on.
    I would like to make the color of the frame as the same as plot's background color. Moreover, I do not want edge of it. Nomally, if we generate graph in Excel, it has the style that I want.
    I am attaching an example of a graph that I want.
    What could be the best way to implement it?
    Thank you very much.

    With CNiGraph you're limited to the two provided options CNiGraph::FrameClassic and CNiGraph::Frame3D. You could get close to what you're looking for by setting CNiGraph::GraphFrameStyle to CNiGraph::FrameClassic and setting the CNiGraph::GraphFrameColor and CNiGraph:lotAreaColor properties to the same value, but the borders will still look different.
    If you're using the .NET WaveformGraph or ScatterGraph, the Border is an abstract base class and the provided styles include Dashed, Dotted, Etched, None, Raised, RaisedLite, Sunken, and SunkenLite. None of these will be exactly what you're looking for, either, but since Border is an abstract class, you can easily extend it with an implementation as you described, assign this custom implementation to the graph
    's Border property, then set the graph's BackColor and PlotAreaColor to the same values. This would get you exactly what you're looking for. Please let me know if you're using one of the .NET graphs and I will post an example.

  • Flex chart grid style(like dotted line)

    Hi,

  • Vertical grid lines and Dates on Graph

    When I use date values on the x-axis for a graph, the only vertical grid lines that appear in the graph are at the year boundary. For example, if I was showing data for 3 years, I get 3 vertical grid lines; one at each January.
    How can I get vertical grid lines at each month?
    It will work if I convert the date to character, but then I lose the ability of Oracle Reports to fill in the tick marks for missing dates (say, if there isn't any data between January and March, the graph will still show a label for February).

    Hi, Ravens Fan.
    Thanks for your reply.
    Now, the main loop has a wait statement, but the problem remains. I'm using LabView 2009, and I didn't see this behaviour in the previous version, LabView 8.6.
    I send you back the uptaded program, and two snapshots as well:
    - snapshot 1: just after pressing "Run", "increment" value takes "maximum" value; due to this, there's only one text marker, at "12:00" (there should be one major grid line and one text marker every 10 minutes as "increment" value is set to 600 before entering the while loop);
    - snapshot 2: when pannning, "minor increment" takes "maximum" value, and due to this, vertical grid lines don't show any more (there should be one minor grid line every 5 minutes as "minor increment" is set to 300 before entering the while loop).

    Francisco

  • Control grid intensity graph

    Hi,
    I want to control the grid of an intensity graph to be exactly spaced by "1"... How to do?
    See attached example in LV8.5. Start with default values and you get grid lines with spacing of 1.
    Now change "size" to 15 and run again. Gridlines are now spaced by 0.5. Size=10 -> spacing of 0.2, size=4 -> spacing=0.1 ...
    I want to have a spacing of 1 regardless of size parameter! How to achieve this?
    Btw. I need both major and minor grid, as array size can grow to more than can be handled by major grid alone...

    Hi Simon,
    thanks for clarification.
    To summarize: major increment has to be bigger than minor and you have to set them both...
    Scale labelling is not so important for me, but it would be nice to have each number when space is sufficient (in the example vi for sizes upto 15). It seems I have to change my graph formatting a little bit: make minor grid transparent when not needed (for small sizes) and switch gridlines on, when scale space is not sufficient to show all numbers...
    In the attached example pic (today's measurement of pressure sensor wafer ) I use the gridlines to separate single chips. And I always want to separate single chips regardless of array size (=wafer/chip) - which can vary from 10 to ~80...

  • Hide / show grid in a graph programmaticly

    I would like to hide / show the grid (minor / major) progammaticly. I try to create a property node, but I don't find the way to access the 'hide' property... Thanks.

    I might need corrected, but I don't believe you can change the 'minor' grid color, but yes on the 'major'.
    Its a Write-to property node called Grid colors, and you can have the X & Y grids as separate or Clustered together elements. You'll need to add 2 color boxes [Controls > Numeric palette] to your front panel (X & Y). The user's selection is a numeric value sent to the property node(s) you wired.
    Good Luck with it, Doug

  • I am using Dreamweaver cc 2014 and after applying css styles to my fluid grid layout I lose the resize, delete, duplicate and move up/ down ability.

    I am using Dreamweaver cc 2014 and after applying css styles to my fluid grid layout I lose the resize,delete, duplicate an move up/ down ability.
    For this reason I cannot build new pages by copying one page to create another.
    I have a third style sheet that I use for the navigation styles  and h1 -h6 ect. tags. and I am also using a css drop menu, can one of these be the problem?
    The css menu I am using has the following script - I goes at the bottom of the html page. Before the closing body tag,
    <script>
    $(function () {
      $("#nav").tinyNav();
    </script>
    I am also using the following for image control - I place it towards the top of the fluid
    grid style sheet.
        box-sizing: border-box; /* Opera/IE 8+ */
        -moz-box-sizing: border-box; /* Firefox, other Gecko */
        -webkit-box-sizing: border-box; /* Safari/Chrome, other WebKit */
    Can some one please help.

    This implies there is something broken in your FluidGrid Layout CSS file.   It  could be something simple like a missing semi-colon or curly bracket.   Run your code through the W3C validation tools below to check for errors.  NOTE:  ignore reported errors in boilerplate.css

  • Subtle Questions on X-Y Graph

    Below is an example of using a X-Y graph. I have 2 questions.
    1. Is it possible to move the points to the center of the grid,and also move x, and y axis label to the center, something like this
    Note that the points are now in the center of the grid, and the axis label numbers are also moved to the center of the gird.
    2. Is it possible to retrieve the values of a point on a X-Y graph. For example, if the user clicks the first point on the above graph (any of the graph), the value [1,2] is obtained, and stored.
    Thanks

    The easiest way would be to swap the major and minor grid colors and change the scale style:
    About the detection, you can get the point where the mouse click was done with the MapCoordsToXY invoke node, this will return the XY values of a point. With some interpolation on the data you can then get the exact value at that point.
