Subtle Questions on X-Y Graph

Below is an example of using a X-Y graph. I have 2 questions.
1. Is it possible to move the points to the center of the grid,and also move x, and y axis label to the center, something like this
Note that the points are now in the center of the grid, and the axis label numbers are also moved to the center of the gird.
2. Is it possible to retrieve the values of a point on a X-Y graph. For example, if the user clicks the first point on the above graph (any of the graph), the value [1,2] is obtained, and stored.
Thanks

The easiest way would be to swap the major and minor grid colors and change the scale style:
About the detection, you can get the point where the mouse click was done with the MapCoordsToXY invoke node, this will return the XY values of a point. With some interpolation on the data you can then get the exact value at that point.

  • Question on rectangle with graph and table

    i inserted the graph chart and table in a rectangle for similar values... but when i see the preview of this scenario... its showing seperately.... its mean that first showing the rectangle and then graph and then table in the preview page. when i saved
    it into PDF; both chart and table are coming in same rectangle.
    can any one please give a quick response to this.

    Hi  Nagalinga,
    Based on my understanding, you create a chart and table with same values, then you use a rectangle to contain them. When previewing the report, rectangle, chart, table displays separately. However, when exporting to PDF, the chart and table display in a
    same rectangle.
    In Reporting Service, rectangles can be used as containers to help control the way data regions render in a report. However, a rectangle is only a container for items that you either create in the rectangle or drag into the rectangle. If you draw a rectangle
    around an item that already exists on the design surface, the rectangle will not act as its container. So in your scenario, I suppose you create a chart and table then draw a rectangle around them, rectangle, chart and table will display separately when previewing
    report. As we tested in our environment, we create a chart and table with same values, then drag them into a rectangle, the chart and table both display in a rectangle whether we preview the report or render the report as PDF. Please refer to the screenshots

    The column dependent_v in the respective table is varchar2(50). To
    plot the values using report builder in oracle 6i developer, I need to convert the varchar field to a number field using To_Number function. But since infinity doesn't have a precise value an error, ora-01722 occurs. How can I generate tan, cosec, sec and other trig functions with asymptotes?

    Ok , after I wrote that I thought about it a little more and came up with another idea simply using the existing RowSet that you'd use to display the line items. On a deletion you'd simply iterate through the RowSet and update each line accordingly:
    lineItemsRowSet.setHoldability(lineItemsRowSet.HOLD_CURSORS_OVER_COMMIT);
    lineItemsRowSet.setConcurrency(lineItemsRowSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE);
    lineItemsRowSet.execute() ;
    lineItemsRowSet.next() ;
    lineItemsRowSet.setCommand(" SELECT * FROM LINEITEMS WHERE LINEITEMS.ORDERNUMBER  = ? " );
    lineItemsRowSet.setObject( 1, getSessionBean1.OrderNumber) ;
    lineItems.execute() ;
    int lineNumber = 0 ;
    while ( lineItems.next() ) {
           lineItemsRowSet.moveToCurrentRow() ;
           lineNumber ++ ;
           lineItemsRowSet.updateInt("LINENUMBER",   lineNumber);
           lineItemsRowSet.updateRow() ;
    }Note: I have not tested this code, but it should work .

  • 3D graph question

    Hi everyone,
    I have 2 questions concerning the 3D graph.
    1°) I can’t find in the property node how to position the view as XY (it’s possible to do it right clicking on the graph, then  CWGraph3D,….). Is there a way to set it throw the property node?
    2°) In the color map editor (see print screen under graph) the figures don’t stay as I have put them although I press on “ok” for saving
    Any help would be great,
    Thanks,

    Hello User_1979,
    Thanks for posting on National Instruments forum.
    There is a property node to change programmatically the ViewMode:
    About your second question, you should be able to set your value then click OK and then click Apply on the Property page. I'm in LabVIEW 2010 and I don't have any problem.

  • Podcast Art Question

    Hi all,
    Ultra newbie here with probably an obvious question.  I recently submitted two separate podcasts to iTunes, and they both seem to be up and running in the store.  Right now, the art that goes with them is not there--just the generic podcast icon.  I gather from what I've seen on this forum that this is pretty much par for the course--the podcast goes live long before the associated cover art appears in iTunes.  In both cases, when I submitted my feed (I'm using Feedburner), the art popped up on the confirmation page, so I assume all is basically well.
    I have two slightly more subtle questions, though.  First, I've subscribed to both podcasts myself to make sure they would download okay, and they do.  In the case of the first one (the art of rhetoric one), it even shows up with the cover art, even though it doesn't appear in the iTunes store yet (which, I assume, means it's just a matter of time before it *does* show up).  With the second podcast, however, the episode downloads, but unlike the other podcast, the art doesn't get downloaded with it--just the same old podcast icon.  Is this just a fluke, or is this cause for concern that there's something wrong with the image?
    A second minor question is that with the art of rhetoric podcast (i.e., the one that *does* download the cover art with the episode), the art appears, but the right and left edges are cut off just a bit.  I thought I had been incredibly careful to format the jpeg to be precisely square at 300 x 300 (the numbers I saw recommended by iTunes).  It's easy enough to rejigger the jpeg to allow for more margin space, if that's necessary.  The question is this: if I change the link to this cover art jpeg with Feedburner, will it then automatically change (eventually) in iTunes?
    Below are the itunes links to the two podcasts.
    Thanks in advance for helping out a newbie!
    Cheers,
    Ted

    http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/behind-behind-the-headlines/id451518148

    Hi again,
    I *think* I've figured out the problem.  I was a bit thrown by the note that there wasn't a media file associated with the new Rhetoric episode since I had certainly uploaded one, but thanks to your prodding, I went back and figured out (probably) what the source of confusion was.
    When setting up my podcast feed using the combo of Blogger and Feedburner, the instructions said to make sure to show the link dialog box in the header for each new blog post associated with the podcast in addition to the title.  I did that and was dutifully including a link to the media file in that dialog box when making a new post.  I had assumed that this was the link that "assocated" the linked media file with the blog post (and, hence, the feed generated by feedburner).
    That seems to have worked in the posts for the "Headlines" podcast, but in the Rhetoric podcast, I noticed that I had also linked to the media file in the text of the blog post itself, not just in the link dialog at the top, in the first post.  In the second one, I had not.  When I viewed my feed details in Feedburner, I was given the option to "Play Now" the podcast for the first lecture, but not the second.  I went back and included a link to the media file in the actual text of the blog post for the second lecture, and went back to Feedburner.  Now, I was given the "Play Now" option for both lectures.  I assumes his means that now there truly is a media file associated with this post, and next time iTunes checks, things will be hunky dory.  We'll see.
    I'm still not quite sure why I had to link to the media file in the text of the blog post for one feed, but don't seem to have needed to do that with the other.  It's not a problem to do so, but I'd be a bit more comfortable if I knew why this was the case.
    At any rate, thanks again for the help.  I'll likely have more questions as things continue, but I'm keeping fingers crossed that I've managed to get things up and going now at long last.
    Cheers,
    Ted

  • ClickListener in ADF Line graph

    Hello,
    Is it possible to get the x-axis and y-axis values (i.e.coordinates) of the line graph if user clicks in a line area between points (not the point itself)?

    af:graph

    I use af:graph instead of af:lineGraph because the tooltip needs some special customization which af:lineGraph doesn't support.
    Just for the sake of the question, I converted the graph to af:lineGraph and I set clickListener in dvt:shapeAttributes as well. It didn't make any difference.
    When I click in a line area outside of a point the clickListener gets invoked, however it is not useful since I cannot obtain x and y coordinates.
    It goes in the else if section of the code i provided on top of this page. I.e. else if (handle instanceof SeriesComponentHandle) {............}.
    My question remains un-answered yet.
    Thank you,

  • Create graph based on dynamic table data

    Hi experts ;
    i have JDeve Version 11.1.2.2.0 , i'm create dynamic table based on dynamic SQL query this query return by function in database by based on passing parameter .
    My question :-
    1- How create graph based on dynamic table and contral it at run time ?
    Thanks & Best Regards

    Hi Mostafa,
    You can retrieve the data from your sql query in a backing bean and pass it on to Graph using the setTabularData method.
    Here is the javadoc for the setTabulardata method:

  • Select plot by mouse in a multi-plot graph

    Hello
    I'm using LV 8.5 and have a question using a waveform graph. I have multiple plots (up to about 300) in this graph and most of them will have approximately the same waveform but some will have a totally different -> the user needs to identify these plots (get the name of it when moving the mouse over it for example).
    Is there a possibility to identify a specific plot in a multiplot graph?
    Thanks a lot for your answer!
    Rico

    Hello and thanks for your answer!
    Unfortunately this solution does not work, I add a picture to show the problem. If the user has to click through all plots (1500...) to get ther right one, he needs really a lot of time!

  • All About the HP 50G Graphing calc

    Product name: HP 50G Graphing Calculator
    Question: All about calcs graphing capabilities, in general
    Hey forum! I'm kinda new to this forum, so sorry if this post is in the wrong place...
    I just need some questions answered about the 50G's graphing and computing capabilities
    1. How would you find the Min and Max of a non-linear function after you graph it?
    2. Besides the screen functions, accessed by the Function keys, what are all the other functions that are avaliable? I know that this might be a large question to answer, so anything that is needed for everything up until precalc
    3. How do I resize the screen like the TI-89? I know of zoom accessed by the function key, but that either zooms WAY too closly or WAY to far. How do I adjust how many units fit onto the screen?
    4. Is there a table of all the units and their y-axis points? for example, linear function table would have like X:1 Y:1 | X:2 Y:2...etc.
    5. Is there a specific graphing manual for this calc?
    6. How do I erease only specific functions from my function history?
    7. Can I use another independant variable instead of X? if so how do I change back and forth from it?
    8.  How do I erease everything except for my settings (ex. RPN mode, silenced etc.)? Basically erease only history from everything
    9. How do I find intersections on the graph?
    10. what are the main functions that are able to be performed on a graph, and is there a button to access all the functions able to be performed from a graph?
    Thanks for the responses.

  • Word Insert Graph.vi

    Hi,
    I currently use the NI_Word.lvclass:Word Insert Graph.vi to insert some graphs into a document.
    I pass the data to this VI as a 2D array, where the top row of the array represents the x-coordinates, and the other rows represent the y-coordinates.  The particular graph in question has multiple plots, where each plot is represented by a given row of the array.
    This works fine, unless I want omit a given point of a particluar row/plot.  As it is not possible to have an "empty" element in the middle of a 2-D array, I don't know how to pass the data to the VI.
    If I set the element to zero, this has the unwanted effect of plotting a zero point on my graph.
    See the respective attachments to illustrate my point.

    Thanks for the response.
    However, this does not do what I want it to.
    Your VI deals with strings, whereas I need to deal with numbers.
    With an array of strings, it is permissable to have an empty element (i.e. an element consisting of a blank string).  However, this is not allowed in a numeric array.
    See the attachment for an example of an array I would pass to the Insert Graph VI if I could.
    However, I realise this is not possible, so I am looking for a way around the problem.  I think this is more a question of programatically manipulating graphs in Word, than an array issue.

  • How to show two queries/ aggregation levels in one Chart in Web Template

    Hi Experts,
    I have a question regarding showing a graph in a Web Application template.
    The graph has two elements on it.  The key figure is average number of working days, but the requirement is to compare number of working days for a granular data level (time spent in each process stage per month) to the average across all process stages across the entire month.
    So essentially what we have is a chart with one constant horizontal line across it, which is the overall average, across all process stages, for the whole month, and then underneath this horizontal line, a series of columns showing the average for each process stage, broken down.
    I am having trouble getting the base query right for this requirement.  It feels like for each process stage, I need two key figures (for the two data series); one average per stage, and the other should be the overall average, populated once for each stage.
    I couldn't make this work using cells or replacement path, and I assume that you can only use one data provider per chart in the WAD.
    Can anyone help me?  Please let me know if you need more info.  It's a shame I can't post a picture of the required graph in this post.
    Thanks
    Mischa

    Hi Mischa,
    If I am reading your description correctly you should be able to model your two Key Figures in the query by having the two Key Figures exactly the same, exept give one an exception aggregation to average with reference to characteristic 0CALMONTH.
    So you have your business process and calendar month in your rows, and the two Key Figures in the columns one with standard aggregation and one with exception aggregation on month. This should give you the KF amount per process wthin each month as well as the average KF amount over the month.
    Hope this helps,
    Nick

  • Windows TCP Socket Buffer Hitting Plateau Too Early

    Note: This is a repost of a ServerFault Question edited over the course of a few days, originally here: http://serverfault.com/questions/608060/windows-tcp-window-scaling-hitting-plateau-too-early
    Scenario: We have a number of Windows clients regularly uploading large files (FTP/SVN/HTTP PUT/SCP) to Linux servers that are ~100-160ms away. We have 1Gbit/s synchronous bandwidth at the office and the servers are either AWS instances or physically hosted
    in US DCs.
    The initial report was that uploads to a new server instance were much slower than they could be. This bore out in testing and from multiple locations; clients were seeing stable 2-5Mbit/s to the host from their Windows systems.
    I broke out iperf
    -s on a an AWS instance and then from a Windows client in the office:
    iperf
    -c 1.2.3.4
    [ 5] local 10.169.40.14 port 5001 connected with 1.2.3.4 port 55185
    [ 5] 0.0-10.0 sec 6.55 MBytes 5.48 Mbits/sec
    iperf
    -w1M -c 1.2.3.4
    [ 4] local 10.169.40.14 port 5001 connected with 1.2.3.4 port 55239
    [ 4] 0.0-18.3 sec 196 MBytes 89.6 Mbits/sec
    The latter figure can vary significantly on subsequent tests, (Vagaries of AWS) but is usually between 70 and 130Mbit/s which is more than enough for our needs. Wiresharking the session, I can see:
    iperf
    -c Windows SYN - Window 64kb, Scale 1 - Linux SYN, ACK: Window 14kb, Scale: 9 (*512)
    iperf
    -c -w1M Windows SYN - Windows 64kb, Scale 1 - Linux SYN, ACK: Window 14kb, Scale: 9
    Clearly the link can sustain this high throughput, but I have to explicity set the window size to make any use of it, which most real world applications won't let me do. The TCP handshakes use the same starting points in each case, but the forced one scales
    Conversely, from a Linux client on the same network a straight, iperf
    -c (using the system default 85kb) gives me:
    [ 5] local 10.169.40.14 port 5001 connected with 1.2.3.4 port 33263
    [ 5] 0.0-10.8 sec 142 MBytes 110 Mbits/sec
    Without any forcing, it scales as expected. This can't be something in the intervening hops or our local switches/routers and seems to affect Windows 7 and 8 clients alike. I've read lots of guides on auto-tuning, but these are typically about disabling scaling
    altogether to work around bad terrible home networking kit.
    Can anyone tell me what's happening here and give me a way of fixing it? (Preferably something I can stick in to the registry via GPO.)
    Notes
    The AWS Linux instance in question has the following kernel settings applied in sysctl.conf:
    net.core.rmem_max = 16777216

    net.ipv4.tcp_wmem = 4096 1048576 16777216
    I've used dd
    if=/dev/zero | nc redirecting to /dev/null at
    the server end to rule out iperfand
    remove any other possible bottlenecks, but the results are much the same. Tests with ncftp(Cygwin,
    Native Windows, Linux) scale in much the same way as the above iperf tests on their respective platforms.
    First fix attempts.
    Enabling CTCP - This makes no difference; window scaling is identical. (If I understand this correctly, this setting increases the rate at which the congestion window is enlarged rather than the maximum size it can reach)
    Enabling TCP timestamps. - No change here either.
    Nagle's algorithm - That makes sense and at least it means I can probably ignore that particular blips in the graph as any indication of the problem.
    pcap files: Zip file available here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/104qdysmk01lnf6/iperf-pcaps-10s-Win%2BLinux-2014-06-30.zip (Anonymised
    with bittwiste, extracts to ~150MB as there's one from each OS client for comparison)
    Second fix attempts.
    I've enabled ctcp and disabled chimney offloading: TCP Global Parameters
    Receive-Side Scaling State : enabled
    Chimney Offload State : disabled
    NetDMA State : enabled
    Direct Cache Acess (DCA) : disabled
    Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level : normal
    Add-On Congestion Control Provider : ctcp
    ECN Capability : disabled
    RFC 1323 Timestamps : enabled
    Initial RTO : 3000
    Non Sack Rtt Resiliency : disabled
    But sadly, no change in the throughput.
    I do have a cause/effect question here, though: The graphs are of the RWIN value set in the server's ACKs to the client. With Windows clients, am I right in thinking that Linux isn't scaling this value beyond that low point because the client's limited CWIN
    prevents even that buffer from being filled? Could there be some other reason that Linux is artificially limiting the RWIN?
    Note: I've tried turning on ECN for the hell of it; but no change, there.
    Third fix attempts.
    No change following disabling heuristics and RWIN autotuning. Have updated the Intel network drivers to the latest (12.10.28.0) with software that exposes functioanlity tweaks viadevice manager tabs. The card is an 82579V Chipset on-board NIC - (I'm going to
    do some more testing from clients with realtek or other vendors)
    Focusing on the NIC for a moment, I've tried the following (Mostly just ruling out unlikely culprits):
    Increase receive buffers to 2k from 256 and transmit buffers to 2k from 512 (Both now at maximum) - No change
    Disabled all IP/TCP/UDP checksum offloading. - No change.
    Disabled Large Send Offload - Nada.
    Turned off IPv6, QoS scheduling - Nowt.
    Further investigation
    Trying to eliminate the Linux server side, I started up a Server 2012R2 instance and repeated the tests using iperf (cygwin
    binary) and NTttcp.
    With iperf,
    I had to explicitly specify -w1m on both sides
    before the connection would scale beyond ~5Mbit/s. (Incidentally, I could be checked and the BDP of ~5Mbits at 91ms latency is almost precisely 64kb. Spot the limit...)
    The ntttcp binaries showed now such limitation. Using ntttcpr
    -m 1,0,1.2.3.5 on the server and ntttcp
    -s -m 1,0,1.2.3.5 -t 10 on the client, I can see much better throughput:

    8MB/s puts it up at the levels I was getting with explicitly large windows in iperf.
    Oddly, though, 80MB in 1273 buffers = a 64kB buffer again. A further wireshark shows a good, variable RWIN coming back from the server (Scale factor 256) that the client seems to fulfil; so perhaps ntttcp is misreporting the send window.
    Further PCAP files have been provided, here:https://www.dropbox.com/s/dtlvy1vi46x75it/iperf%2Bntttcp%2Bftp-pcaps-2014-07-03.zip
    Two more iperfs,
    both from Windows to the same Linux server as before (1.2.3.4): One with a 128k Socket size and default 64k window (restricts to ~5Mbit/s again) and one with a 1MB send window and default 8kb socket size. (scales higher)
    One ntttcp trace
    from the same Windows client to a Server 2012R2 EC2 instance (1.2.3.5). here, the throughput scales well. Note: NTttcp does something odd on port 6001 before it opens the test connection. Not sure what's happening there.
    One FTP data trace, uploading 20MB of /dev/urandom to
    a near identical linux host (1.2.3.6) using Cygwin ncftp.
    Again the limit is there. The pattern is much the same using Windows Filezilla.
    Changing the iperf buffer
    length does make the expected difference to the time sequence graph (much more vertical sections), but the actual throughput is unchanged.
    So we have a final question through all of this: Where is this limitation creeping in? If we simply have user-space software not written to take advantage of Long Fat Networks, can anything be done in the OS to improve the situation?

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums.
    I will try to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at this issue. There might be some time delay. Appreciate your patience.
    Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • Setting the order of a roll over image in a quiz

    Hi,
    I'm using captivate 4 and having issues in setting a quiz for my students.
    I want to have an icon to roll-over so the students can access information relating to the question, eg, diagrams, tables, graphs etc.
    I have done all this yet when the roll over image appears its order is set behind the question and answers, I need it in front. when trying to change the order, eg bring to front, all the options are grayed out and not available. Is there a way to fix this as I know I cannot use a slidelet in a question slide.
    I have also tried to re-order the question and answer text, but is is also grayed out.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Cheers
    Andrew

    Hello,
    You cannot insert interactive objects on any default question slide from pool or not. You will have to change the action to be executed on Success/Failure. There it is possible to jump to a slide.
    Beware: you can never jump to a slide that is outside of the quiz 'scope'. This scope starts with the slide where you have the first scoreable object, which can be a question slide but also a button/click box/TEB with a score. The scope typically ends with the score slide. So be sure that the slide you want to jump to are in that scope. Eventually you can add a scoreable object (with a low score perhaps of 1pt) like a button or click box to the first slide of your project. If you keep the score slide as the last slide you will not have to worry anymore about the scope.
    Hope this makes sense,
    Lilybiri

  • Drag and drop object in other object

    Greetings!
    I'm asking myself this question:
    I have this graph in my application and a panel.
    The graph is draggable. How can I drag and drop the graph
    into the panel so that the graph becomes a child of the panel?
    Thanks!

    Unlike your other annoyance, this one definitely always annoys me.
    Note: The LabVIEW project explorer window isn't the only IDE that does this. Visual Studio does the same thing when you drag and drop a file onto the Solution Explorer window and the target is a folder. So, the behavior is not unique to LabVIEW.
    Thought this would be today!  Thank YOU
    You're quire welcome. I do it all for you.

    CAR anyone?
    I don't think this needs a CAR, since it's not a bug. It just works that way, so there's nothing to fix. Posting an idea would be the better way to handle this.
