I have a question however - was this change communicated to Verizon customers? I didn't receive any emails on the subject nor was anything on myverizon account on your website.
Shouldn't some sort of notice have gone out to customers using pop accounts like outlook?

Unhappy with Yahoo portal

I recently switched to Verizon DSL because my long-time ISP sold out. When filling out the online registration process, I was prompted repeatedly to choose either Yahoo or AOL; thinking this was a requirement, I chose the lesser of the two evils. I did so only because every page said this could be changed later.
Since I'm on the road all day, I need to be able to use webmail to access my email. I was shocked to find out that I am now forced to use the cluttered and distracting Yahoo page to access my webmail. Verizon tech support tells me it is now impossible to reconnect me to the Verizon email account.
This is unacceptable.
What must I do to get rid of the annoying and useless Yahoo pages, and switch to a plain-and-simple Verizon email account? I cannot believe that I will now be forced to put up with a "portal partner" forever simply because I made a very simple mistake during the registration process. It's so annoying that I can't even log into this forum using my Verizon web login, I had to use a separate account from the Verizon.com website!

You can get rid of Yahoo by switching to AOL. Unlike the Yahoo portal, there is really no difference between an AOL account and a normal Verizon account other than the *option* to download additional software if you choose to. AOL accounts use Verizon's servers, Verizon's webmail, etc.
It is important to note that when you migrate away from Yahoo, any mail, contacts, etc. that you have do NOT come back with you. They are stored on Yahoo's servers, and Yahoo does not give that data back to Verizon. You can get the data back though. After you have switched portals, log into http://verizon.yahoo.com with your @verizon.net address. It should tell you that your account has been cancelled, and in the lower right-hand corner there will be a "Transfer Information" button. When you click on that button, it will walk you through transferring your content to a free yahoo.com account. Once the data has been transferred to the yahoo.com account, you can use Trueswitch (offered for free through Verizon) to transfer the data from the yahoo.com account to your verizon.net account.

Remove Yahoo Portal

I wish to remove the Yahoo portal and email control from by Verizon account. Can someone please help? None of the solutions found work for me.

That is what the recommended solution solves.
So today you go to your vz email and it's redirected to yahoo mail.
The instructions give you a chance to save your email and contacts first.
Once you make the change, you lose all the yahoo email access, including the email and contacts. So that is why you want to save them. Once you finish the change you will be going to a purely verizon email experience free from yahoo.

Portal change name of upadated files

Hi,
when I update a file in a content area, Portal changes its name.
I update a file entering in edit mode, I click on "browse" and then I search the new file to upload.
If one (or both) of this two conditions:
- item level security
- item versioning (and checkout is made)
is enabled, Portal gives to file a new name, generally created adding "_0" or "_1" etc...
I'd like to leave ever the same file name. Is it possible to do? I don't want to disable anyone of two settings I've described above.

ios 8.1 application icon (yahoo) automatically changes to a different application icon (macys). When you click the icon, it directs you to Yahoo. I have had this issue before but the last time the icon was changed to wikipedia. The last time this happened, i reset my phone. I bought this phone new almost 2 years ago and have been the sole owner and I have never attempted to jailbreak my phone. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

The problem is now resolved. The only thing that I did was to make netscape the default. I always the write code. I think that somehow I must have hit publish, I still am still not sure. Thanks for all the help

Yahoo Portal connections

I have two of my Verizon email addresses set up with the Verizon/Yahoo Portal. I have not been able to use those for several weeks now. I've talked to two phone reps and they both told me the problem with the Yahoo Portal would be fixed "tomorrow." Tomorrow is now 3 days ago.
How Do I drop the yahoo portal and stick directly with Verizon email?

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.
Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.
To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".
Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

Yahoo Portal

How do I get unsubscribe to the Verizon Yahoo Portal?! I mistakenly signed up for it now when I access Webmail I get Yahoo with all of its advertisements. I hate it but cannot figure out how to remove it.

Yahoo has a 10 Meg limit on file size of a file that can be attached to an e-mail (and I think a 20 Meg limit if attaching multiple files) which really don't like. Don't know if AOL has a limit on the size of a file that can be attached. Also... there are LOTS of e-mails that gets caught by Yahoo's "spam filter" that no matter how many times I tell it a message ISN'T spam... it keeps putting these messages into their spam folder (such as e-mails from PayPal confirming that a payment was made). Don't know how AOL's e-mail portal is with dealing these these messages.

This can be kind of confusing. AOL portalled accounts don't actually use AOL's mail system for the verizon.net address like Yahoo accounts do. If you are using AOL portal, you'll be using Verizon's webmail just like a normal Verizon-only account. The difference is that you have the option to download and use some additional AOL software.
Verizon has a 20 MB single-attachment limit, but keep in mind that they only effectively support an 8 MB attachment size. That is, on average, all webmail can handle before timing out. You can send larger files if you use a pop3 client like Thunderbird or Outlook, but Verizon doesn't offer full support for email clients unless you pay for premium tech support.
I'm sure there are just as many complaints about Yahoo's spam filter as there are about Verizon's spam filter. It's always the case that what thrills most people will be upsetting for some. That's just the way the world works. Try to find one that works for you.
Please keep in mind that when you switch away from Yahoo, you will lose any email and contacts that you have on their servers, as Yahoo never sends that info back to Verizon. I'd suggest getting it backed up before switching.

Changing back from yahoo portal

My e-mail was set up as using Yahoo as my portal (whatever that is) and so I can't open yahoo mail AND Verizon mail. (Yahoo sees me as already signed on as one or the other. How can I get Verizon mail through v-central and so then my yahoo through Yahoo site? Can I just change my incoming and outgoing settings (incoming.yahoo.verizon.com to; incoming.verizon.net) or do I need to register my account differently with Verizon?

Having Yahoo as a portal partner means your Yahoo email account is linked with your VZ email. You can go straight to yahoo and login or go thru Verizon central and it will direct you to yahoo login. There you can login with your VZ or Yahoo username. If your current account was linked this way during the software installation, you shouldn't have any problems logging in on either site.
You can setup your server settings in a client based email program like Outlook Exp or Outlook using those server settings to get email as long as it was linked to VZ during software installation. Send me a personal message with the primary email address on your account. I can check it for you.

TS3276 email was hacked, can open email on yahoo (after changing passwords) but cannot open mail on my computer, cannot even access mail because it will not accept my user name or password and I am unable to reset my account

email was hijacked and spam/virus link sent out to all of my contacts on wed at 4:21AM..... with the Subject as Rep: My Name or My email address and a link to a web page discussing making money working at home. Could not get into any of my mail, on the web or on Mail on my mac. After a phone call to automated support through Yahoo through ATT, I was given a temporary password and was able to reset my Yahoo password and get email on the internet. I still cannot open my Mail Account on either my iMac or MacBook Pro. I cannot get into Mail, period. My sign in keeps popping up and it keeps telling me that my user name or password is incorrect. I tried my old password, the temporary password and the new password. Nothing is working, I cannot receive or send anything in Mail. Mail is Frozen. If I want my email, I must go to the web and sign into Yahoo Mail.

When you were entering your new password in mac mail for your Yahoo account, you didn't perchance change the user name from [email protected] to just name without the @att.net? I only ask because I've done that, and att.yahoo mail requires a fully qualified [email protected] for access.
In mail, you might click on window on the menu bar, then connection doctor. On the account with the red dot next to it, it will tell you why it can't connect, and if you click on it, you'll be taken to where you can fix it.

SCSM 2012 Portal change from http to https to get silverlight to work on non domain computers?

Wanting to change our Self Service Portal from http to https and make it accessible from non domain computers.
Non domain computers - the sharpoint parts load (the silverlight does not load). Domain computers can access the portal with no problem.
Does this mean I need to reinstall the portal or can it be changed while in operation now?
Would something like the below link be enough to get https going?

Getting an odd CalDAV password prompt? Mine was linked to Yahoo password change

     Today I couldn't send mail via the iPad. Instead of alterting me that the password was wrong, it told me that my current outgoing server was wrong. It identified the current server as something like
                    apple.yahoo.smtp.    yada yada
and said I should change it or set up a new one. Why in the world Apple was getting involved in a Yahoo outgoing mail server was beyond me.
     Still, I went into setting, mail to check on the server account settings and then got another bizarre, unexpected prompt requesting a password for CalDAV!! Not knowing what that was, I cancelled, but it was a bit unsettling!
     After rummaging here, I discovered that the CalDAV message is related to calendar synching-- something I don't do, which added to the mystery. For some reason, that message can occur when a mail password is missing or has been changed.
      It then dawned on me that, in light of all the news about Yahoo, AOL, and GMail password hacking, I had changed the Yahoo mail password yesterday via the Yahoo web site. That must have blanked out the password on the iPad.
      Two strikes on Apple on this! Suggesting that the server name itself was wrong and then asking for CalDAV password is not user-friendly. Poor programming design, especially as many of us do NO calendar synching. It should simply tell the user that the password is wrong, needs changing, and then prompt for the missing password. (Or, do the usual-- name or password is incorrect.)
      So, as Drkreis pointed out in another thread, the easy solution is to go under settings, Mail, to the account in question. It will show Password with the word "Required" in grey. Simply type in the new password there and you'll be all set!
     Yes, before anyone dumps on me... it is absolutely true this was all created by user-error! When you change your password for an account, you need to remember to change it on every device that is accessing that account. Still, given that we're all human, and such errors are made all the time, Apple really needs to do better in explaining what's gone wrong and providing a single, layman prompt for a fix!

Thank you for the suggestion. I did change the password; however, I generally will purchase gift cards to link to the account so that if something like this ever happened it would not be taken out of a credit card or bank account.

SAP Portal changes not reflect in all the servers without reboot?

We have one sap ep 7.0 eh1 main instance and 4 other portal instances.every time we tranport any portal develpment work such as epa packages, we need to restart all the instances to reflect the new changes.can you please suggest me
a solution if exists to avoid bouncing of all instances when a portal development work is transported.
Why does the changes not reflect in all the servers without the reboot??

actually we have a central portal instance and 4 other portal servers connected through a
load balancer.Any tranport we move to central instance should refelect the changes in all
other portal instances.But we need to restart all the instances to see the new changes.
We are trying to find a solution if availbel which prevents server-restarts after each transport.

Portal - Change name on a HTML file

Hello,
I have been asked to change the name of a HTML file displayed on the portal. I went to 'content admin' - 'km content' - 'documents' right clicked on the content menu for the file and selected rename. I changed the name, but it did not update on the portal. I am assuming I need to change it somewhere else, but I am not sure where. Please advise where to change the name

The Printer is a Brother MFC-8480DN.
So I went into the settings and manually set the printer to DHCP and guess what..... it now lets me change the name on the router.
I guess the default is not actually DHCP so I was making assumptions.....

I can't rename my printer either.
In the case of my printer (and I suspect yours) when installing the printer as a LAN device, the printer is assigned a static IP address during the configuration process. This is different than letting the router assign an IP and then checking the "Static Lease Type" in the router's advanced setup.
I have a couple of other devices, a PC, a WAP, etc., where I've manually assigned them their own IP addresses. I can't rename those devices in the router's setup either.
Bottom line: It seems that if a device has a static IP that is assigned to manually and outside of the Actiontec's setup, that device can't be renamed.
If your printer was actually assigned its IP address by the router's DHCP, I'm stumped.

New Yahoo Search Changes

I have always used Yahoo search; while Firefox had Google as the default, I would change it to Yahoo. I would sometimes try google but one of the things that annoyed me with Google was if you clicked on a link, that link would, by default, open on the same page forcing you to "go back" to see the list again. With Yahoo OTOH clicking on a link would always open in a new tab allowing me to more easily go back and forth between selected links.
Yes I know I can right click and open in a new tab but is there any way to get the old default behavior back where a normal left click on the Yahoo search results open in a new tab ? I have a condition which affects my right hand and using the right click button can sometimes be gets cumbersome at times.

It didn't work at first, but eventually got there.
1. Your screenshot shows the method of selecting Yahoo as the default search provider. There is no option to "remove". I select Firefox Help and underneath uncheck Yahoo and all other providers and then set it as default.
2. I then go to search.yahoo.com and try a search. It does work the way I wanted.... for whatever reason it wouldn't yesterday.
3. I go to Go to http://mycroftproject.com/yahoo-search-plugins.html , scrolled down to 16. Major Engines , Yahoo! en-WW (search.yahoo.com) by Denny Kluge. This was what I had to do when Firefox 1st changed the default to Google.
4. I added it and had two Yahoo's in the list, I checked the 2nd one. Add something in the search windows, hit the down arrow and elected Yahoo to search with. It didn't work, same behavior as before.
5. I then changed to selecting Yahoo again as the default.
6. Now here's the weird part .....
a) With Yahoo selected as the default and letting it work as the default, it works as desired.
b) With Yahoo selected as the default, but using the Yahoo selection as an option, it doesn't work.
I have since unchecked the Yahoo box in the list of "alternate search engines to display " while leaving it selected as the default selection. It's worked 3 times so far; hopefully it survives a close and reopen :)

WAD - Portal - Changing row background colors

We are creating web templates and posting to portal 6.0. I would like to know how to change the background colors for the rows for the output of the analysis item. Right now the default colors are grey and white (alternating rows). I did a search in the forum and it appears that there is no straightforward way to do it, with some suggesting we do it directly in the portal. Can someone provide detailed step by step instructions on how to change the background colors for rows for query output.

You can modify the CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) in either Portal or WAD. If you change it in Portal, it will be global for all reports viewed in the portal.
For WAD, there is a general template parameter which contains the path to the .CSS file. This CSS file is located in the Mime Repository (SE80). Make the change to the css file in the mime repository and you're good to go.
If you change the Portal CSS file, there is a wizard that can help you define colors for tables and preview them.
