Year to date report - how do I get dates without hard coding a year?
I am writing a monthly report that will run for example on Sept1 but want to extract data for Jan 1, 2012 thru Aug 31, 2012. But also need to consider when I run report on Jan 1, 2013 for all of 2012. I know I could use the add_months(sysdate,-1) to get previous month but then will still have issues running on Jan 2013 for the year.
SELECT data
FROM tables
WHERE data_date between start-date (which would be Jan 1, 2012 but also when I run on Jan 1 2013 for previous year)
and last_day(add_months(sysdate, -1)
Thanks in advance
Jackie
Hi,
This would do it :SQL> !cat q.sql
with t (dt, val) as (
select to_date('2011/01/04','yyyy/mm/dd'), 123 from dual union all
select to_date('2011/04/09','yyyy/mm/dd'), 234 from dual union all
select to_date('2011/06/28','yyyy/mm/dd'), 345 from dual union all
select to_date('2011/10/18','yyyy/mm/dd'), 456 from dual union all
select to_date('2011/12/23','yyyy/mm/dd'), 567 from dual union all
select to_date('2012/01/07','yyyy/mm/dd'), 678 from dual union all
select to_date('2012/05/13','yyyy/mm/dd'), 789 from dual union all
select to_date('2012/07/19','yyyy/mm/dd'), 890 from dual union all
select to_date('2012/08/30','yyyy/mm/dd'), 901 from dual union all
select to_date('2012/09/22','yyyy/mm/dd'), 012 from dual
------ end of sample data ------
select *
from t
where dt >= trunc( add_months(trunc( &&dateexec. ,'month'),-1) ,'year')
and dt < trunc( &&dateexec. ,'month')
undefine dateexecThe dateexec parameter is just here to "simulate" sysdate of different points in year.
<i>(your actual query would have sysdate where the dateexec parameter appears)</i>
SQL> @q
Enter value for dateexec: sysdate
DT VAL
07/01/2012 00:00:00 678
13/05/2012 00:00:00 789
19/07/2012 00:00:00 890 sysdate does the current year up to previous month.
SQL> @q
Enter value for dateexec: to_date('20120122','yyyymmdd')
DT VAL
04/01/2011 00:00:00 123
09/04/2011 00:00:00 234
28/06/2011 00:00:00 345
18/10/2011 00:00:00 456
23/12/2011 00:00:00 567when ran in january, it retrieves all the previous year.

The above query works fine. But i have hard coded the values. I want to do the same operation for different account number which is going to have different periodic no. How can I achieve it?

APEX CSS - How do I get data in report columns to wrap?
I found information here http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/APEX_FAQ
About How do I get data in report columns to wrap?
This works and another way to do it is by adding the CSS directly into the
Home>Application Builder>Application 137>Page 1>Report Attributes>Column Attributes page
in the Column Formatting area. I added 'white-space:normal' and this works in FF but in
IE it has a different behavior.
In FireFox
testasdgadhad
gadfadgadgadg
adgafhsrgjsgnsfg
nsdfbadfafhafha
dfhadfh
In Internet Explorer
testasdgadhad gadfadgadgadg adgafhsrgjsgnsfg nsdfbadfafhafha dfhadfh
Is there a way to force it so it display in IE the same way that it displays in FF?
The correct display format is FF.
Thanks,
Nestor :)I have try this because I found it during a search and it makes no difference in IE.
This is what I am using now 'display: block; width: 100px;max-width:100px;white-space:normal'
I also tried 'display:block; width:500px'
If I use the values 'normal' or 'pre' for white-space' it works in FireFox but not in IE, The display block
does not seem to make a difference. It seems that all I need is 'white-space:normal' but again
it does not works on IE.
Thanks,
Nestor :-) -
I have made a burn folder with photos exported from I-photo. It now shows in information, that the date created and modified is different from the original digitized date. How can I get the original date to show in the info from Finder?
The Finder reports File information. The date and time of the photo are in the Photo's Exif metadata. The Finder has no awareness of this. All photos apps on any system do.

How can I get Data from the Sound cart in Labview? Does a VI exist?
Yes, there are VIs for acquiring data from Sound cards. And examples too. If you don't have LabVIEW yet, do a search on NI's site for example VIs.

How do i get data from a structure using join?
hi,
what is the actual use of a structure.?
my problem is :
KUAGV is an existing STRUCTURE. it has got one fields each which links to MARA, AND VBKD tables. i want to fetch all related information from KUAGV, mara, vbkd . which is the better way : using joins or views or anything else? how do i
get data from a structure using join?structure temporarily holds any data passed to it dynamically throughout the runtime but doesnot store it permanently. so
a structure cannot be included in a join.so instead of incuding structure KUAGV's field in a join
search the transparent table in which same field are present and use it in join.
A structure if created in DDIC(Data Dictionary) is a global DATA STRUCTURE which is used to group related information, for example you would group all the details of your bank account into a structure BANK_ACCOUNT that contains fields like account_Id, account_holder_name etc.
If you create a structure in your program then it is local to your program. So you use this structure to create data holders of this DATA TYPE to hold data in your program.

How do I get data back on my Numbers created inventory that was removed by Spotlight recently? It seems to have happened after upgrading.
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately when I click on "revert to" it shows no document. It's very strange that the rest of my old inventories on numbers remain. It is only my 2014 entries that went into a black hole somewhere. When I click on my inventory pages it says: "OS X spotlight search information was removed." It seems to have occurred after I recently updated Numbers. I never did anything to have it removed and never got any kind of warning to my knowledge that it was about to be removed. Very frustrating!

I have MAC OS X 10.6.8 (up-to-date). How can I get screen mirroring to my Apple TV to work? The icon does not appear at top status bar..
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404 AirPlay Mirroring is compatible with Mid 2011 and newer MacBooks Air, and OS X Mountain Lion.
As you have Mac OS X Snow Leopard, you haven't got a compatible MacBook Air, so you can't use AirPlay Mirroring. However, you can use a third-party app as AirParrot to mirror the MacBook onto your Apple TV > http://www.airparrot.com -
By synching our computer and tablet together with our new iphone, we lost all our critical calendar data. How do we get it back? The help info, HT4901, was the closest info from the Help pages but it assumed we were already on icloud and had simply disconnected our calendar from icloud. Actually, we were simply trying to synch our devices by signing up with icloud for the first time, so it seems our calendar never had a chance to get uploaded. In any case, how do you reconnect / re-access a calendar on icloud?
If your calendar does not appear on icloud.com it never uploaded to iCloud. If it is no longer on your computer you would have to restore it from a backup source such as Time Machine to restore it.

I purchased a audio book to listen to on my commute to work. It only works over wifi, that does me no good in the car and the book is hours long for audio. That will eat up my data. How can I get a refund?
How are you trying to listen to it ? You shouldn't need to be online to listen to it, I don't for any of mine. If you've downloaded it directly on your iPad (or synced it from your computer) then it should be in the Music app (you will get an Audiobooks option under the More button in the Music app when you have audiobooks on it) - is that where you are trying to listen to it ?

Why can't I browse by release date in the Albums view?
