Youtube embed code in the lighbox widget crashes Muse

Muse crashes every time I use the youtube embed code in the lighbox widget. I am looking for a simple pop up video solution.

Use the YouTube widget from the Widget Library. It avoids this crash. (The next major update of Muse will enable you to once again use the embed code, if you prefer that over the widget.)

How to embed new youtube embed code in iweb

For some reason neither the embed code pasted into an HTML snippet nor the youtube URL pasted into a youtube widget display the youtube video when I publish the site.
The youtube video shows up in iweb the moment I paste either the URL into the youtube widget or the embed code into the html widget, but when I publish it, the youtube video doesn't display.
I thought it might have to do with the old vs. new embed code on youtube - the new makes it work as html 5 as well, but I've tried both the new and old code and can't get it to show up.
The last bit of info is that I have noticed that when i publish the changes, the snippet folder in the folder that gets published isn't updating - there doesn't seem to be anything in that folder that gets changed when i add, delete or edit any widget.

The YouTube widget no longer works as it was dependent on software on the MMe servers which are no more.
How are you publishing the site? Are you publishing to a folder on your hard drive and then uploading to the server with a 3rd party FTP client? Does the video play when you access the locally published site with your browser? If so then the problem lies with the uploading of the files.
If you're using iWeb 2 (08) be aware that there are compatibiliy problems with it and Mt. Lion when it comes to publishing. So check the site locally to make sure all is well before uploading.

How exactly you are adding documents to accordion widget ?
Regarding read more , in Blog list layout you can use {tag_blogpostbodypreview,Text} where the text can be "Read More", this tag will Display a preview of the first paragraph of your blog post. Replace "Text" with the relevant words to link to see the entire post.

Answering my own question
by converting the input to HTML format (simply by using a
<cfinput, not an <input tag) the value now displays as:

btw: the reason object is displaying as youtubeobject in the
code above is because when passing the embed code from one page to
another, CF changes the word Object to InvalidTag. When the
variable is passed, I am converting it to either object if it
intended for display, or youtubeobject when it is inserted into the

Certain codes in the stocks widget no longer work

Hi,
I use the Stocks widget to track currency exchange rates. Certain stock codes such as
USDZAR=X (US Dollar to S.African Rand)
GBPZAR=X (UK Pound to S.African Rand)
EURZAR=X (Euro to S.African Rand)
still work fine, but others stopped producing results a few months ago, such as:
XAUUSD=X (gold price in dollars)
ARSZAR=X (Argentine Peso to S.African Rand)
These stock codes validate OK, get added to the widget OK, and the graphs work OK, but the current value does not display any longer, as they still do for the other stocks.
I believe that it is the feed that is at fault, as the above stocks misbehave in exactly the same way on my iPhone, regardless of the many, many Macs I have tried it on.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Your suggested fix made no difference and Talk Talk webmail still not working.
I:
Created alternative profiles;
Exported and Imported bookmarks - following all the instructions on mozillazine.
And:
FF 3.6 asks me to choose profile - fine;
But FF4 does not ask for profile selection.
I think the problem lies somewhere within the FF4 and Talk Talk webmail box. Back to you for your best efforts and any further advice. Thanks.

There are unofficial ways to access some parts of the code, like the one suggested by Yaron.

Customizing/recreating the Accordion widget in Muse

I want to use the accordion widget, but I can't figure out how to flip it to work horizontally. Is there a way to flip or rotate in Muse? If not is there way to recreate an accordion menu that opens horizontally?

I am trying to embed vimeo into the html widget.

The videos are embedded and they show up when I publish my site. However, when I return to the site later, the site has reverted back to the prior version. When I return to iWeb, the videos are no longer embedded? I've never had this problem until I installed Lion. Could this be Lion related?

Have you cleared your browser's cache (Command+Option+E for Safari) and reloaded the page? Do the videos display if you publish you site to a folder on your hard drive and open it locally with your browser?

Add hyperlinks to the tooltip widget in muse?

Ok. here is an interesting question.
1. I added the tool tip widget to a site design in Muse.
2. I clicked on the trigger & went to the muse toolbar to select hyperlink, I then added the desired hyperlink.
3. The "hover" finger pops up, but clicking does nothing.
I've checked layers and order to make sure nothing is blocking the trigger, all seems normal. Am I using this in a way it's not intended?

Trying to use the contact widget inside muse

Hi,
I am building a site and require a contact form for feedback etc and I am trying to use the contact form that comes with muse. All seems ok, ie the form appears correctly on my test website, the recapure text is there to copy, but when I try to submit an email from the form, nothing happens.. I have the BC CAPTURE toggle set true, on the widget, and enter the required text correctly,
My question is, is it not working because I have a webbasics package given to me as a CC member and I have to upgrade to webbasics+ for this form to work as it needs email and that is only made available to webbasics+ members and above ??

I had a further thought, just wondering if its because the site isn't yet live and needs to be live for the form to work.... I get "server encounterd an error" message when I press the "submit" button. ???

Hmm, just tried with a live site and all I get is Red text saying required, the text is entered as shown, with and without spaces and still nothing happens...

Embedding a YouTube Video utilizing HTML Insert Crashes Muse Repeatedly

Just today I have noticed when embedding a YouTube Video in Muse that it has begun crashing repeatedly. I cannot get the video to stay embedded to finish this project. Is there a bug or a work-around?

Please try using YouTube embed code with the "Enable privacy-enhanced mode" option checked. It appears this crash is being triggered by recent changes in how YouTube's embed code works. At least early evidence indicates turning the "Enable privacy-enhanced mode" option on when creating the embed code appears to change the behavior of the embed code enough to avoid triggering this crash within Muse.
If you do try this, please report back to let us know whether or not setting this option enables you to avoid this crash. Thanks.

Youtube embed issues after update

I ran the required folio builder update for CS6 and now when I try embedding a Youtube video using "insert html" under Object, the youtube video won't work once I update the folio and attempt to view from my IPad. It's just a black screen. Any idea what happened? I am using the proper embed code (not flash)

Thanks for you reply.
In your DPS Tips app (Effects -> Insert HTML, purple tab) is now mentioned that you should copy the entire embed code for sharing (and add "http://) on YouTube, and then choose "Insert HTML" in Indesign CS6.
Indesign CS6 creates a frame automatically, which, in fact, is a Web Content overlay.
Fortunately, after pasting the embed code, you can't see what is in the container frame afterwards. Not very useful in case you want to make changes.
In the link in my post above, you can read that you should create your own container frame, and then paste a part of the Youtube embed code in the Folio Overlays panel (and add "http://).
This is a bit different way of doing it, but it works fine in V27, viewed on an iPad.
Since you use the Folio Overlays panel in this case, you can see what is in the container frame (and also be able to change it).
Maybe you can add this second option in your app?

Muse CC crashes with YouTube HTML code

Since upgrading to Muse CC I'm having problems when I paste YouTube HTML code into a lightbox. I have previously done it in Muse 4 (or whatever version number the incarnation was before CC) and that is all fine and still works. he programme crashes when I pase or place the code into the lightbox window. It will even crash trying to load the thumbnail view.
Cny anyone advise on this.

Hi Tom,
Could you try the following different method? Just as an interim workaround, while I check on your issue.
Open your youtube video.
Click Share > Embed, and copy the embed code within the text area (<iframe......>)
Within Muse, click Object > Insert HTML.
Delete the "Insert your HTML here." line and paste the embed code.
Click Ok.
Preview your page to see if the video renders per your needs. Switch back to the Design mode if you wish to realign, modify or reposition the video.
