Zebra serial question

While this isn't strictly a LabVIEW question I'll post it in the hopes that some of you have experience. I am trying to talk to a Zebra TLP3842 via a usb-serial adapter. I have successfully communicated with the printer through its own usb port, using the simple report vi's, but it seems very limited in what I can do that way, for instance sending a Zebra command string ends up just being printed as the string I sent, rather than sending it "raw". So, seeing some recommendations on here I got as usb-serial adapter. Unfortunately I seem to be missing something. When a send an example, copied from the programming manual, to the printer, all I get is a feed to the next label, ejecting the label without any printing. I know that the printer will print, both from the previous test with the USB connection and also from the self dump mode, but all I get through the USB-Serial path is a blank label.
The string, copied right from the ELP2 manual:
A50,150,0,4,1,1,N,"Example 4" <newline> (the character for <newline> doesn't copy)
P1 <newline>
I've used both the simple serial example from the LabVIEW examples and have sent the string directly, via the VISA test panel in MAX. I did a loop back of my serial adapter to make sure it was sending. Both ends, computer and printer, are set to the same serial settings.

First this may seem like a silly question but have you verified that the printer you have uses EPL. That model printer comes in two flavors. One uses EPL for label formatting and the other uses ZPL. If it is an EPL printer as mentioned earlier all commands MUST be terminated with a carriage return ('\r') follwed by a line feed ('\n').
Try sending "UQ\r\n" to the printer. If it is an EPL printer it should return configuration data about the printer inclduing the model number and firmware version. If this fails then try sending "~hi" to the printer. If you get a reply to this it is a ZPL based printer.

Serial # question

Hi
I have a question re a serial # issue I'm having.
I initially purchased Apple Production Suite software back in 04 of
which I still have my original invoice.
In late fall I purchased the crossgrade upgrade to Final Cut Studio 5.1.
Although I can find a copy of the upgrade form I can't find my serial #.
Last summer my boat flooded and fried my Macbook Pro. My service guy was able
to retrieve the data from the hard disk and copied it to the new computer.
I haven't been using this software at all until I tried FCP today. It, and all other parts of
studio, are asking for a serial and my original serial do not work.
I read the document that suggested contacting the reseller for a copy of the invoice,
so I suppose that would be Apple in this case....no?
Any ideas how I should proceed.

hi Krishna,
This printer does not support ZPL2 so I thnk you cnnot use the device types like LZEB2. It should work to print via windows and a device type like SAPWIN or SWINCF.

Bought and paid for CS4 Premium, Acrobat Pro not accepting serial #

My Acrobat Pro application, part of the CS4 Design Premium, will not accept the same serial I used for my other Adobe applications.
Any solutions beyond tossing two hours of my life in a phone call to Adobe India Customer Service? I have had one good experience using Adobe CS out of five, but really it takes hours to get someone who is helpful. Adobe needs to address this brutal customer in need situation.
Apple buys Adobe, everything is fixed.
Solutions? Beyond waiting for Jobs to mount a take over?

I should add, I did install the complete CS4 Design Premium package in mid November 09. Worked flawlessly, until yesterday that is.
After some hours on the phone with Adobe customer service in India, finally the serial question was solved for all applications BUT Acrobat Pro. The tech said the serial number issue was caused by unknown forces. Odd, Adobe has a special number for serials not being accepted. It is a 1-800 number, I used it. I believe it is an Adobe made issue to keep pirated software out of the loop.
The tech said he would call me back in thirty minutes to confirm all applications were in perfect working order. I played with the entire group and AP was the dog of the bunch.
The tech never called back to check on me. That was nearly 24 hours ago. I anticipated this would be the poor result from Adobe.
I suspect I will need to devote another hour or so in Adobe Hell India Zone for a fix. The customer service is something which turns me off all Adobe products. When I find replacements for the software I will jump at the chance.

Logic Express 7.2 Crossgrade Questions???

I just picked up the Logic Express 7.2 Crossgrade and had some questions:
Being that Apple was so generous not include a single lick of paperwork (installation guide or manuals) and the Installer and Content disc are dated Jan. of 2006 (everything is almost a year old, read me's, manuals etc..) that are on the installer disc! I'm a little confused.
First: My original version of Logic Express is 7.0 and I do not have it installed on my computer (see specs below). So, will the serial # that came with my original 7.0. version work with this 7.2 crossgrade?
Second: Is the 7.2 Installer disc a full installer or will I have to run the original 7.0 disc and then run the 7.2 installer disc to upgrade the Logic Express application? Or is the 7.2 disc a full installer?
Third: Being that there are no physical manuals, etc... and as I stated above the PDF Manuals are almost a year old, where do I find all of the most current Manuals, Read Me's, etc...?
Fourth: is anyone using Logic Express 7.2 with a Digidesign Pro Tools LE system, which consists of a Digi 002 (Console) with Pro Tools LE 7.1cs10. I'm using it with a Power Mac G5 Dual-Core 2.3 with 4.5 GB of Ram, running Tiger 10.4.8 (PPC). If so, are you having any problems using Logic Express 7.2 (or what ever the current version of Logic Express is) and is having Logic Express 7.2 installed on the same computer as Pro Tools causing any problems with Pro Tools running properly (or to be blunt, breakin Pro Tools)?
P.S.
I know I might get slammed for this and I know that the Logic Express 7.2 Crossgrade was only a lousy $29.00 plus Tax but is it too much to ask for actual physical manuals, installation guides with the crossgrade? And most importantly, at least the most current version of Logic Express 7.2? As I said above, the 7.2 disc is dated almost a year ago! The current version I now see is 7.2.3 and was released September 2006. What's the deal with that?. I guess Apple is trying to save a buck or make one, who knows?

I'm glad to see that someone is on the same wavelength as me. I agree 100 percent that Apple "could have at least supplied a single sheet of paper in there that says how to install and what to do". I happen to be one of the people that like to look at the actual printed documentation (call me crazy). And yes, I did have to send them my 7.0 Disc. Thanks for answering the mysterious full installer/serial # question that I had. Just curious, when did you get your crossgrade and is it the same version that I just received, 7.2 (which is almost a year old).
I also just ordered the Soundtrack Pro upgrade to Final Cut Studio. I can't wait to see what that mess looks like!

Where does one find the current Logic Express Documentation, etc...?

How to control the line in--- PLAY and STOP ?

   This is the volume control library downloaded from NI wed site .It is help for my task.
   My task is to control the line in with LabVIEW, for example STOP, PLAY and adjust volume with LabVIEW button.Though the example I see the volume control can be enablement.But I don't know how to design the PLAY and STOP button.
   I see it is similar to the volume control.There is function to control the the PLAY and STOP in the system Library-winmm.dll. I don't know whether all I think is right.I have the following serial question. How to use the function?How to understand the system Library?I can't acquire some information from it and I don't know the input and output parameter in the funcion.
   Can any one help me out please?

The first step in troubleshooting serial problems is to attempt a serial loopback test (basically reading and writing to & from the same serial port) in LabView. Start off with the LabView <-> Serial example that ships with LabView. It is set up for this test. KB article 1M9D8H6Q is a great reference for serial questions and the description of setting up the loopback test. You can search for "Serial Communication Starting Point" or the document ID from www.ni.com/support.
Also, serial instruments are sometimes fickle about timing. Try inserting 1 second delays after configurations, reads, and writes to see if this helps your performance. This does help quite frequently.
If the loopback test works and the timing does not help, check for the ter
mination characters (i.e. the last character of your serial write buffer). Often most instruments expect "\n" or "\r", try adding these to the end of your write buffer.

You can download most things from Getjar as a sis. file to your computer, and simply drag and drop to your phones mass memory using the usb cable, then simply open the file in the folder you dragged it to (I call mine Downloads) and it will install !

Click on the Apple and then on about this Mac. In the new window, click on the "version 10.9.2" until you see the serial number displayed.

My macbook was stolen last month from my car. It would not power, it showed a white screen with folder with question mark in the middle? I don't have my serial number, is there a way to possibly track my computer?

My car was broken into in Uptown, MN last month and my Macbook was stolen along with my Wifi device. Although my computer would no longer power, it showed a white screen with a folder and question in the middle and then shut down. I hadn't had a chance to take it to have it checked, but is there a way to track my computer if I do not have the serial number? And if I purchase another computer is there a way to get the music that I purchased in iTunes back?

Regarding your music, yes you can download it again at no cost. Launch iTunes on the new computer, and sign in to your account using the same Apple ID you used previously. Go to the iTunes Store. On the right side under Quick Links select Purchased. Click on All Songs in the upper left.You'll see a list of the music you purchased from iTunes. In the lower right corner click the Download All link. Note that this may take a long time, particularly if you have a lot of songs. Use the fastest Internet connection that you can.
About the computer, unless tracking software was already installed on it and turned on there is no way to track it.
I would suggest changing passwords of any accounts that you have on the computer, such as email. If you have any credit card information stored on the computer, have them cancelled and replaced immediately.

there's no way for you to identify which machines have or had cs3 activated, and you can no longer purchase a cs3 license from adobe.
you can request an activation count reset (Contact Customer Care) and deactivate your cs3 on all your computers. you can then install and activate on up to two computers.

HELP!!! Not your average Serial Number question!

Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a rut. I'm not asking for a serial number, I just need to know where on my computer to find it.
STORY:
I had to erase my mac because Avid messed it all up. Yay Avid!. Anyways, I'm covered for backups though. I have a time machine backup, a bootable external that I cloned as my hard drive pre-erase, and a disk image of my computer pre-erase.
I'm reinstalling all the apps, including FCS 2, but I got the upgrade version. I no longer have the box for Final Cut Studio 1 (or 5.1 or whatever we're calling it) but I have the serial number that I wrote on a post it fromthe last time I did this. My handwriting is legible, but for whatever reason, the FCS installer is accepting the FCS2 upgrade serial, but not the FCS1 serial. Since I have so many copies of my computer pre-erase, I remember before I was able to find a file (can't remember which program, possibly FCP) that had the serial number somewhere in the library folder.
QUESTION: Is there somewhere on the copies of my hard drive pre-erase where that FCS1 serial could be hidden? I need it so I install FCS2, without which, is worthless . And so am I, without my editing software :P.

2 issues - Invalid Serial Number issue & Lightroom 5 Trial vs full version folder hierarchy question

not sure if I should split these two questions...
1 - Invalid Serial Number issue
I'm helping out a friend with their large photo collection and they bought Lightroom 5 and received the serial number but when we add this to Lightroom it states that it's invalid - I tried leaving it until the following week (I visit them weekly) and it still refusing the number - when I went into their Adobe account and took a look at downloads the option to download the full version is greyed out (or an x - I'm not sat on their computer right now so can't double check) but it wouldn't allow me to do anything so we just had the trial version.
anyone know what the issue is - shall I get them to contact Adobe to get them to take a look - I also had issues trying to find a customer support email address lol. (I seem to faffing with lots of websites/software/companies this week so getting a little frazzled!)
2 - Lightroom 5 Trial vs full version folder hierarchy question
This question is linked to the above i- I am wondering if the folders in Lightroom are different in the trial version vs the fully paid version.
I had set up some greeting card templates and contact sheet layouts for my friend and tried to transfer them to her computer but whilst, LR 'sees' the folders it just doesn't acknowledge the templates - I tried it several ways but I've not had that issue before so will that sort itself when I get the serial number fixed?

Hi Lenny, the two questions may be related but the trial is actually the same as the full version. I would suggest getting the serial number issue sorted out first. There have been known issues where a paid for product still shows up as a trial.There is not a lot the community can do. You need to contact Adobe directly using the link below. Use the dropdown menu for boxes (1) & (2) to scroll down the list and choose:
1. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom
2. Serial number issues or activating my product
3. Click on the blue button: Still need help? Contact us – then click the button marked “chat now”
