ZLauncher - a customisable menu like launcher

ZLauncher - a customisable menu like launcher
Description
   ZLauncher is a menu like launcher, to edit configuration files and launch applications and custom commands.
   I wanted to replace the default openbox menu with a nice looking 2-D menu,
   allowing easy icon selection, text and command editing.
   For example: I use it to start & edit application, project, configuration files.
Features
    * Fast (written in vala)
    * Lightweight (depends only on gtk3)
    * Customisable (every color can be changed)
Installation
   AUR Package, git version:
   https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/zlauncher-git
Homepage
   For more info, screenshots visit:
   https://github.com/zeromancer/zlauncher

1. Right now:
   It is already possible to use keyboard navigation only.
   Where is a little info icon at the down, right corner that listens all keyboard shortcuts (or alternatively you can look at the screenshot section on the github page)
2. Your proposal:
   bash like auto completion - is something that gnome do / gmrun / kupfer / or other applications like that already do
3. I agree that it could be useful to define own shortcuts for each entry
   I have created a feature request for custom shortcuts,
   care to vote with a "+1" comment post ?

  • Customised menu slide and customised quiz feedback slide

    Hello everyone,
    I was wondering if anyone can help point me in the right direction as to how I can use Advanced Actions/Variables to produce two things, a menu slide that shows a tick when a section is complete, and a single quiz feedback slide that shows a summary of questions with correct/incorrect.
    Customised Menu Slide
    I'm trying to build a menu so that a learner can go into any unit in any order. When they finish the slides in that unit, they are returned to the Menu slide and a tick appears against that unit. There is an example below to give you the idea.
    Quiz Feedback Slide
    I'm also trying to build a quiz feedback slide to let learners know which questions they have gotten wrong in a quiz. I don't want to use the Quiz Review function as that shows me the questions and wrong answers. I would just like a summary slide, as in the example below.
    For the course menu, I'm using some helpful posts from Lilybiri and trying to adjust her tutorial on customized course menu at http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/855/cpsid_85530.html to show the ticks instead of hiding the unit links. I'm not sure where to start with the quiz feedback slide.
    I'm hoping that someone with a bit more experience of advanced actions/variables will be able to step in here and let me know if i'm going in the right direction with this.
    many thanks in advance,
    Loraine

    Hey Lilybiri, sorry to revive this thread, but I would like to do this but with question pools? Can that be done? If yes, how...?
    My issue with a little more detail: We are replacing the ageing, proprietary content creation solution of our LMS supplier with Captivate. The main purpose of our LMS is not providing learning-courses but testing our users with quizzes.
    We are required (strictly governmentally regulated business) to train and quiz our employees on certain topics. So the main functionality used of Captivate, Version 6 btw, is the quizzing functionality. We went for Captivate because it's got the question pool ability which by the newest prescription we are required to deploy in our 2013 line of employee certification tests/quizzes.
    After passing a quiz, the old solution gave a very nice overview of the answers given and the correctness of those (see screenshot attached). I'd like to replicate this to a certain degree with Captivate. Notice the screenshot by the way, the old solution got partial scoring which Captivate can also do, unfortunately not when using question pools. Anyway, not the issue here, the issue is the result slide. I have been asked to implement a result slide, similar to the old solution, where all the answers are listed and also a hint if the answer given was correct or wrong (as partially correct does not apply anymore, now that we are using question pools) because the user has then jump to that slide and review and discuss it with the teacher/test supervisor of that day.
    We have a total of ~60 questions in 6 pools. 25 get picked, at least 3 out of every pool, smallest pool has 6 questions. So how can I track a) which question has been picked and displayed to the user b) as which slide number/at which position and c) which answer was given, in this highly shuffled, dynamically created environment? It's not like I can make a result slide with 60 lines and mark each line as either unseen, correct or wrong and maintain 60x3 variables during the quiz. Any ideas?
    Of course, the user could just review the whole quiz and quickly skip all questions answered correctly and discuss the ones the user failed. But this somehow doesn't seem right and unprofessional, especially since the old solution could do that since years. At least a hint which questions the user got wrong would be the minimum expected...
    Thanks in advance.

    Imported old family video, I seperated different events and named each event, how can I save event to put together in a menu like family, vacation, christmas to make a DVD

    Sorry, but I don't understand  what "5 1 hour video" means.
    I do understand that you have a lot of clips that you want to group by various subjects, like vacation, etc. That's a perfect job for keywords, which perhaps is what you used when you named them?
    If you did use keywords, go to that TL Index and click Tag at the top and then the keyword icon at the bottom. It should give you a list of only clips in that category. Select clip from the menu and it should highlight them. You could then copy and paste them to a new project for export. Repeat as necessary.
    If you're going to do a lot of these, I'd suggest doing this from the event browser, applying keywords and then the clips into separate projects.  But there are always more than one way to do things, and to each his/her own.
    Again, I don't have any idea how long your footage is and whether it is even possible (or desirable) to fit it on to a single DVD. I mentioned iDVD because of its menu and sub menu capabilities. You will need another app like Compressor to do the chapter makers (unless Apple updates FCP before you finish your project and adds that capability. That would be nice,)
    Good luck.

  • Make a dvd menu like iDVD used to?

    How can I create a dvd menu like iDVD used to? I need to be able to navigate through a dvd like menu (not necessary burn a dvd, but have it play on my computer) and without iDVD I don't know how. I would rather not have to drop $30, $40, $50 on a new app from a random third party..... help!
    Apple, if you're reading this... please give us iDVD back.

    Apple, if you're reading this... please give us iDVD back.
    You are not addressing Apple here. Please use the feedback below and it will be read by Apple.   Your feedback is important. Apple does change its mind.
    https://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
    https://www.apple.com/feedback/imovie.html
    By far, iDVD is your best choice. I have tried many alternatives nothing else comes close. You can purchase iDVD on Amazon as part of iLife 11.
    Be advised, that the newest iMovie cannot set chapter markers!  I would recommend the use of iMovie HD or iMovie 11.  My own preference is iMovie HD.
    You can set chapters with iDVD but it is a little more difficult.

  • How to mimic Pull Down Menu like APEX WORKSPACE

    Hi,
    I want to have Pull Down Menu like APEX Workspace pages where Application Developer, SQL Workspace, Team Developement and Administration have menus attached to them.
    They appear in Pull Down format.
    I want to mimic the same in my application. I have Pull Down List template and created a list region. It is showing the menus but I want the width and height of the lists to be same as that of APEX Workspace pages.
    I have very little knowledge about javascript and others. I am familiar with PL/SQL.
    Please help.
    Thanks,

  • Adding menu-like buttons to JToolBar (such as Back button in Netscape)

    Hi,
    I wonder wether it is possible to add a menu-like button to a JToolBar. I tried adding a JMenu but didn't succed, since the menu's visual appearance was completely messed up and, furthermore, it didn't respond to mouse clicks.
    Any hints appreciated.
    Janek.

    To do that, I wrote 3 classes.
    At the end, the new menu reacts and can be used exactly as a JMenu.
    The first class is the menu class which extends JMenu :
    import javax.swing.*;
    * This class override the method boolean isTopLevelMenu() to
    * allow a menu to be a top level menu in a JMenuBar and a JTollBar also !
    public class MyMenu extends JMenu {
        public MyMenu() {
            super("");
        public MyMenu(String s) {
              super(s);
        public MyMenu(Action a) {
              super(a);
        public MyMenu(String s, boolean b) {
            super(s,b);
         * Returns true if the menu is a 'top-level menu', that is, if it is
         * the direct child of a menubar.
         * @return true if the menu is activated from the menu bar;
         *         false if the menu is activated from a menu item
         *         on another menu
        public boolean isTopLevelMenu() {
            if (getParent() instanceof JMenuBar  || (getParent() instanceof JToolBar))
                return true;
            return false;
    }The second class extends JToolBar. It is necessary to redefine the MenuBar behavior : When a menu is pressed, you can move the mouse over the other menus and they will open themselves, etc... So the toolbar must implements the interface MenuElement
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.util.*;
    * This class implements MenuElement to obtain the same behavior
    * as a JMenuBar.
    public class MyToolBar extends JToolBar implements MenuElement {
         public MyToolBar() {
              super();
         * Implemented to be a <code>MenuElement</code> -- does nothing.
         * @see #getSubElements
        public void processMouseEvent(MouseEvent event,MenuElement path[],MenuSelectionManager manager) {
         * Implemented to be a <code>MenuElement</code> -- does nothing.
         * @see #getSubElements
        public void processKeyEvent(KeyEvent e,MenuElement path[],MenuSelectionManager manager) {
         * Implemented to be a <code>MenuElemen<code>t -- does nothing.
         * @see #getSubElements
        public void menuSelectionChanged(boolean isIncluded) {
         * Implemented to be a <code>MenuElement</code> -- returns the
         * menus in this tool bar.
         * This is the reason for implementing the <code>MenuElement</code>
         * interface -- so that the menu bar can be treated the same as
         * other menu elements.
         * @return an array of menu items in the menu bar.
        public MenuElement[] getSubElements() {
            MenuElement result[];
            Vector tmp = new Vector();
            int c = getComponentCount();
            int i;
            Component m;
            for(i=0 ; i < c ; i++) {
                m = getComponent(i);
                if(m instanceof MenuElement)
                    tmp.addElement(m);
            result = new MenuElement[tmp.size()];
            for(i=0,c=tmp.size() ; i < c ; i++)
                result[i] = (MenuElement) tmp.elementAt(i);
            return result;
         * Implemented to be a <code>MenuElement</code>. Returns this object.
         * @return the current <code>Component</code> (this)
         * @see #getSubElements
        public Component getComponent() {
            return this;
    }The last class and morer difficult is the MenuUI. In my implementation, I use the WindowsLookAndFeel, so I redefine the WindowsMenuUI to look like Windows.
    I give you my code also (please, imagine how difficult it was to write!) :
    import com.sun.java.swing.plaf.windows.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.MouseEvent;
    import javax.swing.plaf.ComponentUI;
    import javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicMenuUI;
    import javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicGraphicsUtils;
    import javax.swing.event.MouseInputListener;
    import javax.swing.*;
    * Windows rendition of the component.
    * <p>
    * <strong>Warning:</strong>
    * Serialized objects of this class will not be compatible with
    * future Swing releases.  The current serialization support is appropriate
    * for short term storage or RMI between applications running the same
    * version of Swing.  A future release of Swing will provide support for
    * long term persistence.

  • User Menu  Like SAP menu

    Hello Guys,
    I have to create a z Menu like SAP menu which invoke after some z t code.
    In this menu I have to add all z t code module wise which will work from there itself. like.
    Data Menu
            MM module
                  zmmp1 : Bin Card report
            PP Module
                 zppp1 : Daily production report.
    like that Please provide me the help
    Thanks
    Swati.....

    Hi,
    I think you should design your menu in menu painter ie transaction code se41 and give the module wise transaction codes as the options on the menu created , when user clicks on the menu an event is triggere and sy-ucomm contains the code of the option clicked. you can then write impementation as call transaction a particular transaction code depending on the option clicked.

  • What is the best dvd burning program with a nice menu like idvd that works with Final cut pro

    What is the best dvd burning program with a nice menu like idvd that works with Final cut pro, I am wanting to burn mainly wedding dvds but also sports and other things we used to use idvd but then upgraded our computers and now we dont have it. idvd was the only thing i could find that worked.
    Thanks

    There is no real substitute for iDVD.
    Why is there no iDVD on my new Mac? How do I get it and how do I install it?
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3673
    To burn a DVD with iDVD from the latest version of iMovie, you have to export the movie using the Export button and select 480p as the size. Open iDVD and start a new project, then drag that exported movie file into the iDVD menu window, avoiding any drop zones you see.

    Lion installed.  Now when I click on a pull-down menu like "Size" when shopping Safari crashes.  Help!

    Can't help with your Safari issue, but if you want to report this issue to Apple's engineering, send a bug report or an enhancement request via its Bug Reporter system. To do this, register as an Apple Developer—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report or enhancement request. You'll get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

  • Scrollable menu like Windows Start menu

    Hi Forum,
    I want to create scrollable menu like windows start menu. The menu should scroll on demand. It has to be shown in the same way as windows is showing like If we place the mouse over the scroll menu. The arrow should be shown if the menu has more children. The arrow menu item should be shown if the children cannot be shown in the screen limit.
    Please help me out in this. If anyone have the implementation, please pass it to me
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,
    Thanks. But I want windows start menu like solution. In windows, by default only recently accessed menus will be shown, if user put the mouse over the down arrow button then the other children will be shown. If all the children cannot be shown in the screen, then you will get arrow as first menu item and down arrow as last menu item. User can scroll to the next children.
    Thanks and Regards

  • N95 animated menu like N78

    Hello! I m new here and my english is bad!
    I m disapointed with N95 new firmware, its not support animated menu like N78! On the N78 menu its more animated! On the N95 it has only animated icons but on the N78 is much more animated!
    In new firmware N95 v30 need to put it that menu style because n95 its supported this feature!
    Please new update or this menu style in the sis file

    The transition/animation effects in the N78 are, I guess, coming because of an entirely new version of the Symbian operating system and S60.
    The N78 is based on Symbian 9.3 and S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2.
    The N95 is based on the earlier Symbian 9.2 and S60 3rd Ed. FP1.
    So far, Nokia has never update the Symbian/S60 versions on a phone to the next version. Firmware updates always keep the same Symbian/S60 version as the phone had originally.
    In other words, I don't think you are going to se the same effects as on the N78 on your N95 at any point.

  • Network Name not showing up (scrolling) in Airport Menu during launch

    I know this is extremely trivial. I am having no problems connecting using AirPort Extreme Base Station and the AirPort Utility. However, sometimes when I connect via Airport I can see the network name scroll in the menu bar as the Signal Strength icon moves to the left. Yet, at other times, the network name is never shown in the menu bar. What causes this inconsistency??
    Thanks for any input.

    i assume your airport extreme base station (AEBS) is you main router and you want the airport express (AX) join the network provided by the AEBS.
    you could try this:
    unplug and re-plug the airport express (AX), then click on the airport icon in your menu bar. you should see something like "Apple network bj1234567" or similar (it may take a little while for it to show up). in order to set up the express, you will have to temporarily join its network ! you will get a message asking +do you really want to switch networks ?+ and you do want to do that.
    launch airport utility (AU). you should see the AX on the left. click on the icon of the AX once to highlight it and click continue. follow onscreen instructions and, when prompted, choose to +join an existing network+ and enter the required information for your network.
    any help ?

  • Problems with customising menu template backgrounds

    Hi.
    I am experiencing problems with changing the background of the included disc menu templates in PE9. I can change the background image to anything i like on the computer and all seems to work OK but when i burn the project to disc (PAL_Dolby DVD) the custom background image has gone and been replace with the default template imagine.
    Anyone got any ideas whats going on!
    Thanks

    This issue showed up with PrE 9. I do not recall reading of it with earlier versions.
    I do not know if the PSD files have some corruption, or if some change in PrE 9's code "did the deed," but many have filed a Bug Report, and I ask that you please do, as well. It should be an easy fix for Adobe (but I am not a coder, or software engineer, and could be wrong).
    Good luck to us all,

    end;
    I create code like this in menu;
    execute_trigger('test');
    if form_failure then
    message('its work');
    end if;
    end;
    and this work but I get error FRM-40700: No such trigger: test and next message is 'its work'. How to turn off message from forms?? or like this message make like pragma...
    regards

    thanks for reply.
    trigger exist but in another block.
    I check system.message-level
    thanks
    I find another solution
    I put procedure which verificate current_block and current_form and then call execute_trigger(). It's work
