Zoom or Magnify function

I am trying to create a zoom or magnify tool. I have an image on the stage as a graphic, and also one that has been converted to a movie clip (mc_02) directly above the graphic. I also have a mask (mc_01) that functions as the magnifying glass for mc_02.
To see the outer edges of the mc_02, the mask has to be moved well off  the original graphic. I think I need to somehow constrain what is displayed, but don’t know how. I need to keep the mask over the original image, yet display all of the magnified image. I have to keep the code in AS2.
mc_02.onMouseDown = function() {
    mc_01.startDrag(true,360,60,925,660);
    setProperty("mc_02", _xscale, 200);
    setProperty("mc_02", _yscale, 200);
mc_02.onMouseUp = function() {
    mc_01.stopDrag(false);

There is always hope. I just figured that since you had already had the drive formatted, that we could instead try the system recovery option, as it is essentially restoring you to how it was out of the box when you bought it.
It is still an option, if you wish, but for that you would need to get a set of recovery disks or flash drive from HP. Normally there is a charge for that, as much because of licensing issues for the operating system. If you want to look into that see this:  Obtaining HP Recovery Discs or an HP USB Recovery Drive
Also because of the number of problems you described, I would be looking at updating all of the drivers if you haven't yet. HP ENVY 14-2130nr Notebook PC Drivers
The one thing I noticed is that the supported drivers on the page are for windows 7 64 bit, not 32 bit. Are you sure that your computer is now running the 32 bit version of windows 7?
If that is the result of the tech who worked on your system, you may want to go for the recovery disks, mentioned before. Otherwise it will be necessary to find versions of the drivers that are compatible with 32 bit windows 7.
What if I Don't See My Operating System?

  • Adding Page Zoom and Print Functionality in Indesign CC

    Is there (still) no way to add page-level zoom and print functionality to SWF files created in and exported from Indesign CC?  Thank you

    probelm solved.

  • I use an A4 Tech Mouse which has a zoom in/out function which has worked fine until now.

    The zoom function still works from the browser menu (Ctrl+ +/-) but no longer works via the mouse.
    This (wireless) mouse uses the A4 Tech 2X -Office Mouse Driver 7.80.0.6 Driver which still works with Microsoft Office, Paintshop Pro, IE8 etc, as normal, so the problem appears to be limited to Firefox 4 Beta.
    If this is a known issue and you can advise me how to rectify it I'd be extremely grateful as I use a 37" screen at a distance of approx 8' so the ability to enlarge/shrink the screen "on the fly" as it were, is a very useful feature to me.
    Thank you for your time!

    Hi! If you deinstall the A4-tech driver and use [http://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/XMouseButtonControl.htm 'X-Mouse Button Control'] to reconfigure the mouse buttons instead you will get the zooming work again if you use the simulated keystroke 'Strg-+' and 'Strg--' as 'Tilt Wheel left' and 'Tilt Wheel right' command within X-Mouse.
    But with my NB-99D the 5th 'Wheel Jump'-Button won't work anymore. Unfortunately I can't get the original driver work together with X-Mouse or any other of the remappers I tried.
    Hopefully Mozilla will fix this in one of the next releases because I don't think that A4-Tech will put hand on the drivers again. The latest version (I found V7.80.0.8) is from 2008.

  • Pan & Zoom with overlay functions

    Hi.
    Want to craete a zoom & pan image, that also has overya layers that can be swicthed on/off.
    Say theer are 8 levelo of overlaid information activated from a static key sitting outside teh pan/zoom area. Selecting these turns on/off indivusla overlay layers insode of a zoom/pan area.
    Is this possible? If i'd really appreciate some instrcutions.
    Many thanks

    If I understand your question correctly, you'd like to have some overlays on top of a pan & zoom image ? It wouldn't be too difficult to let some buttons switch a few Object State to several overlays. However these states won't scale accordingly with the pan & zoom, if that's what you want...

  • I photo "zoom"  and "crop" function

    Maybe I'm missing something but I'm unable (when in edit photo) to zoom in on a photo and then try to crop to that particular area. Every time I hit crop the picture reverts back to the original size. I was always able to this with ease in prior versions. Help please! Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    Start with this basic fix: trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    *What's the plist file?*
    For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

  • How to implement a Magnifier function

    Could someone tell me how to implement a magnifer effect in a Java application not Java Applet.
    Some example will be fine.
    Thanks

    If it works in an applet, it should work in an application. If there is an applet-specific method being used, many of those methods reappear in Toolkit. I think I've seen applets with source code like that at [url http://javaboutique.internet.com/]Java Boutique.

  • How Get Quicktime Window Zoom Button to Function Properly?

    A newly opened Quicktime window won't expand when I click on the window's green toggle button in the upper left corner. But if I first expand the window by dragging its corner, I can then toggle between the new and original sizes.
    How can I get my green button to perform properly for Quicktime (it works fine for other apps)?

    Yes, the keys you suggested work. Thank you. So I guess my question has become borderline academic.
    But I'm still bothered by the initial inertness of the green button, which works as designed ONLY following the first MANUAL size change after the file has been opened. Same behavior whether that first size change was made by dragging or by the Command 1,2,3 or Command F keys.
    Is there maybe a Quicktime system file that's been corrupted that I could reinstall?

  • How do I create a magnifying glass zoom effect?

    I'm building an image 'showcase of work' website site. Each html page features a selection of thumbnails on one side linked to a main image on the other.  I am trying to find out how to create something like a zoom effect 'magnifying glass' so that the user can hover over the main image to zoom in within a confined circle or square in more detail, which moves with the mouse whilst hovering over the image. I'm sure you all know what I mean!  (just in case, please see attached html file showing the page layout)  (I also don't want to get too techy/over complicate things as I'm learning as I go). I want to be able to use this feature throughout the site, therefore, I guess it's another CSS rule that I need to apply...?
    I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to find some sort of step by step 'how to' do this.  I can't seem to find just what I'm looking for... maybe I'm not calling it by the right terminology!
    I'm currently using Design Premium CS4 (predominantly Dreamweaver, Photoshop and a little Flash)
    Cheers....

    Hi
    Magiczoom and lightbox are used for showing enlarged versions of images etc. similar to using a separate pop-up window (but without the annoyance of pop-up windows).
    Anythingzoomer is a magnifying glass effect and works as such.

  • The zoom function is not working with lenovo A700 computer

    I have a lenovo A700 desktop computer with a touch screen interface. I recently downloaded the newest version of Firefox (4.0.1) and now the touch screen zoom in/out function with webpages is not working. This function is working with IE8 on the same computer so there seems to be something wrong with Firefox. It was working with the previous version of Firefox as well. Please help, thanks.

  • How to zoom (equal to ctrl+scroll) while playing a presentation?

    I've searched but it seems everyone wants to zoom or magnify to edit. I however am wanting to zoom in or magnify certain parts of my presentation while I'm actually playing the presentation so that people sitting in the back of the conference room can see a specific detail. The ctrl+scroll option in osx is exactly what I need, but when in presentation mode in keynote, that pulls up a menu of my slides and starts scrolling through them. Is there some equivalent that I can use here?
    The things I need to zoom in on are different every time I present based on specific questions crowd members ask, so I can't just build additional/enlarged images into my presentation. Thanks in advance for your help!

    Welcome to the forums!
    To do what you want, you need to first go into the Keynote Preferences, under Slideshow, and check the option "Allow Expose, Dashboard, and others to use screen". Once this is done, you should now see Control-Scroll working as you expect.
    Note that there are other possible options as well, specifically, apps that allow you to magnify portions of the screen. One is OmniDazzle, which is a somewhat silly app that has as one of its features the ability to magnify a selected portion of the screen. You should be able to find other apps with similar functionality.

  • Zoom presentor display only for presentations

    I use the UA "zoom" function for all my work. I must give a presentation soon demonstrating a website. Is there a way to have the magnifier function activated on my (presentor) screen while rendering the projected display "normal" or without the zoom function for the benefit of the audience? Thanks for any help!

    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11488
    You can set the zoom to ONLY follow your mouse (And adjust the size of the "zoom window" that follows it). I used to use this with Quick time Editing when I had a 13" iMac.

  • Photoshop isn't zooming properly??

    I suddenly having trouble with Photoshop and zooming. When I drag an area inside an image with the Mag. Glass Tool and release, PS goes nuts and zooms in super tight, ignoring the boundaries I set when I dragged the tool. E.g. I would drag out a square with the magnifying glass around a person's head, and when I release it zooms all the way in to just the nose.
    Anyone know what's going on?

    OK, it sounded like you had confused scrubby zoom with the zoom to rectangle function -- but apparently not.
    Ok, I don't have an explanation for what you showed.

  • Hyperlinking Overriding Marquee Zoom?

    Hello all - I'm a new member to this forum and have what is (I hope) a simple question...  I've got a series of PDF documents that have hyperlinks embedded in them from another application (ArcGIS).  The hyperlinks work great with Adobe Reader 8 (they do exactly what they are supposed to do) so that end of things is good.  What I'm finding though is that when I try and use the marquee zoom tool in AR8, it only lets me use it outside the area where the hyperlinks are (basically just the white space around the map).  As soon as I hover the marquee zoom tool over the map, it gives me the finger (not literally) to click on the hyperlink it is over top of and marquee zoom is not available unless I again go out over the white space around the map.  It works fine starting in the white space and ending within the map but not at all from just inside the map area (again, just get the finger to select a hyperlinked feature).
    The puzzler for me is that this issue is occurring on some new laptops we have just purchased but on older laptops we have (again with Adobe Reader 8), it does not occur at all - marquee zoom works from anywhere on the page and the hyperlinks work properly as well.  I've looked through all the options and menus in Adobe Reader but can't see anything that would override this behaviour...does anyone out there know of how to resolve this issue?
    Regards!

    I printed all the menu items and found out, that marquee zoom has a value "Zoom":
    [cName:ZoomSubMenu, oChildren:[[cName:ZoomTo],[cName:Zoom],[cName:ZoomDrag] ....
    Unfortunately app.execMenuItem("Zoom") doesn't execute this item and no error is shown. ZoomTo and ZoomDrag are executed.
    What problem it might be here? I have the XIth version of Acrobat Pro.
    var zoom = app.trustedFunction(function () {
        app.beginPriv();
        app.execMenuItem("Zoom");
        app.endPriv();
        console.println("Zoom!");

  • IWeb site not zooming correctly on iPhone

    I am a noobie user of iWeb and have created a web site that will be primarily used on iPads or iPhones. The typical behavior of a website on the iOS is that you can pinch the site to zoom in/out. When I publish my website, it works great on my mac. But on the iPad and especially on the iPhone, the pinch zoom in/out functionality isn't working as I'd like it.
    My web page was set up 800 pixels wide. It dwarfs the 480 wide pixels on a iphone. I'd like to zoom out and see the entire page. But when I pinch zoom out, it zooms out until I let go of the screen. It then snaps back to full resolution.
    Would someone have some experience with this that could give me some hints what I'm doing wrong here?
    Thanks in advance.

    kloveridge wrote:
    My web page was set up 800 pixels wide...
    Welcome to the discussions. I don't have hands-on experience with this theme, but there is this Apple developers document:
    _Safari Web Content Guide_
    ...In the "Configuring the Viewport" section it says:
    "Safari on iOS sets the size and scale of the viewport to reasonable defaults that work well for most webpages (...) *The default width is 980 pixels.* (...) For example, if your webpage is narrower than 980 pixels, then you should set the width of the viewport to fit your web content."
    ...But before setting the width of the viewport (by adding HTML), I suggest simply making one of your pages 980 pixels wide and seeing if that helps. If it does, you may want to consider that as the solution for all your pages.
    By the way, Apple's own design award-winning site at apple.com mostly has a width of 980 pixels.

  • ScrollPane zoom in/out

    Hello, this is my first post.
    I'd like to add zoom in/out function to my ScrollPane, and make shortcut (CTRL+MOUSE SCROLL UP/DOWN) for it. ( like Inkscape )
    I made the following code ( Canvas ) to achieve this, but have some problems.
    *1. How can I prevent ScrollBar's thumb to move when pressing CTRL?*
    When ScrollBar is visible and ScrollBar's thumb (or scroller, knob) has room to move, CTRL+MOUSE SCROLL UP/DOWN doesn't work because the thumb moves instead of zooming in/out.
    When the thumb moves up/down to bar's end, then zoom in/out finally works fine.
    *2. ScrollEvent handler is sometimes not called in ScrollPane*
    When ScrollBarPolicy is not ScrollBarPolicy.ALWAYS and Scrollbar is not visible, SOMETIMES CTRL+SCROLL UP/DOWN operation dosen't work.
    (ScrollEvent handler is not called. For other panes, ScrollEvent works fine. Please check MouseScrollEventTest below)
    Thank you in advance.
