Zooming in on tif images gives fuzzy results
Hi,
Using 3.2 lightroom, when I zoom in on a tif image it is fuzzy. If I click on the next image over, then click back it reloads and is sharp.
Is there a way to force a reload without clicking to another image and then back.
When doing same on a raw file (NEF in my case) I do not have this problem.

It's a bug that crops up for some people. You've found a workaround.
You probably ought to upgrade to the latest release: 3.5 It's free for you, and contains several bug fixes over the 3.2 that you're running. Perhaps it will solve your problem.

I'm currently developping an image processing algorithm using Labview 7.1 and the associated IMAQ Vision tools. After several tests, I found a weird result. Indeed, I put the labview algorithm - including the IMAQ VI on the library to get sure that I use all the time the same VI - on my memory stick and used it on two different computers. I tested the same picture (still in my memory stick) and had two very different results.
After several hours trying to understand why, I found that there were a difference between the results given by both computers at the very begining of the algorithm. Indeed, I used a JPEG file.
To open it, I first create an Image with IMAQ Create (U8). Then, I open it.
Then in my first sub-VI, I use IMAQ Cast Image to be sure that the picture is a U8 grayscale picture.
Right after that, I use the IMAQ Linear Averages. The results of this VI are different on the two computers.
I tried several time on the same picture : one computer always give me the same result but the two computers give me a different result. So there is no random variable on the results.
So my question is : Do IMAQ Cast Image or IMAQ Linear averages give different results when using different computers that are running under Windows XP ?
My bet is on IMAQ Cast Image but I'm not quite sure and I do not undestand why. The labview and IMAQ are the same on both computers.
The difference between the two computer are above :
Computer 1 :
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz with a RAM of 1Go. The processor is an Intel(R).
The OS is windows XP Pro 2002
Computer 2 :
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz with a RAM of 512Mo. The processor is an Intel(R).
The OS is windows XP Pro 2002.
If anybody can help me on this problem, it would be really helpful.

When the timer's actionPerformed happens use next index in the array to get next filePath and show your image. When end of list is achieved just stop the timer (or startd from the beginning of the list again). -

I've currently used SE78 to upload .BMP images for use in SmartForms. Now I want to upload a .TIF image, but under the "Graphics" folder in SE78 there is only a "BMAP" folder.
How can I upload .TIF images in SE78/add a new folder for .TIF images?

These are the steps to be followed for uploading graphics in R/3 system
1. First save the file as BMP
2. Open the BMP file in IMaging (Goto -> Programs -> Accessories -> Imaging) and
make it Zoom as 100% and save as *.TIFF
3. Open SE38 and execute program RSTXLDMC
4. Give your TIFF file path name
5. Select Bcol (for Color)
6. TEXT ID will be ZHEX-MACRO-*.
7. Inplace of * write your own logo name (ZCOMPANYLOGO)
8. Execute the program -
Looping thru tif images using OCR
I have this code below in powershell where I OCR a tif image and save it to a table in sql server. OCR is only working on the first page and not looping thru the tif image pages.
Can someone help me with the code to make it loop on my tif image pages ?

Since the OCR is only working on the first page, as a workaround, please try to spilt the tiff files to multople single files:Tiff Splitter, and then you can use foreach to loop every files.

I need a function module to display this image in my Module pool screen using the container.

Please refer th procedure.
For the select-options you might have defined a selection screen.
Next you can fetch the entire data that you wanted to display in a module pool into an internal table.
you can call the screen you defined for o/p upon the selection.
Then, You define a screen XXXX and a table control in the scree, and in the PAI module of the screen
you write a chain end chain processing in which you can display the contents of your internal table.
OR
if you want the selection also to be in the module pool, then for displaying the O/P you can definr a sub-screen of the initial screen and you can call that sub-screen on selcting, which can be done with a function code.

In Photoshop there are often more ways than one to achieve a task and none of them need be considered »wrong« as long as the result fits the intention, so »the correct way« seems to be problematic terminology.
Anyway, one can use a Layer set to Blend Mode Color and paint on that with whatever colors.
Or one can use Solid Color Layers set to Blend Mode Color.
Or Hue/Saturation Layers …
To edit contrast if necessary Curves or Levels Adjustment Layers can be employed.

Formula Assistance for TIF Images
I am seeking assistance to insert TIF images to a Crystal Report based on specific file path. Specifically, I want to dynamically determine the file path based on the name of the TIF image. The database structure allows me to determine the TIF file location with one exception.
Here is a sample of the location of "9111.tif"
ImageDB\Massdata\Bill\VocBill001\8192\9111.tif
Within the \VocBill001\ folder, there are several folders of TIF images. This example is in folder \8192\. Folder \8192\ contains all TIF images beginning at "8192.tif". All the TIF images are numbered sequentially. Each folder contains 2,048 TIF files. So, the structure in \VocBill001\ will have a folder \1\, \2048\, 4096\, \6144\, \8192\ and so on.
Based on the TIF file name (9111.tif in this case) how can I determine the appropriate folder that holds the TIF image?

EricTry to insert the picture in the report and right click on the picture and go to format picture and select picture tab and click on X+2 corresponding to Graphic Location and write the path here
"\ImageDB\Massdata\Bill\VocBill001\8192\"{picture name field}".tif"
this gives you the right picture based on the name in the database field.
If the folder is different then you need to have the specified folder name also in the database.
If you have the complete path in the database then you can directly place the field in it.

How can you color-manipulate a .tif image?
I am working on a project from an already-existing idd file, and am just needing to update it for a client. While in the file, I noticed something that I didn't think was possible!
There is a linked black and white .tif image that has somehow been colorized. The attached image above is the resulting "texture" background created with the linked image.
I can't figure out how this was done. Anyone know?

No non DSLR is good for shooting still images of anything that's in motion.
If you're looking for shots of birds on a feeder, etc. then any of the long range powershots will provide decent files for viewing on a computer or making small prints. The SX50HS lets you capture RAW files which gives you more options for post processing.

Unable to load TIF images into Photoshop.
CS4 (11.0.2) and Windows 7 Home Edition.
Have developed a problem trying to load some TIF images into Photoshop. I have a large number of images archived over a decade or more. At this point it may some of the older files that exhibit the problem. Now all these files were edited and stored using the Photoshop versions during the complete time period. The files are always saved with no compression. Have tried to load from Photoshop and clicking on the file in a file list. Photoshop just hangs and I get the message Program not responding. I can take these same files and load them into the ROXIO photo editor with no problem. Stranger yet is if I simply load the file into the ROXIO editor then "save as" back into the same folder (overwrite) the file can then be brought into Photoshop with no problem! Any ideas?Noel,
Will try to keep short.
I reinstalled Photoshop CS4 from the cd CS set. Did not uninstall first. Restarted PC and Photoshop. Still failed the same way with a 3001 image.
Did the following, changing one item in the Edit->Preference->GPU Setting. After each change, closed Photoshop, reopened, brought in 3001 image, restored original setting. 3001 failed each time.

* Advanced setup: Unchecked Color Matching
Next went to the Edit->Color Profile.
Scanned thru options and saw in the Convert Options: Engine. It was set to Adobe (ACE). ACE was the module name in the error detail!
Only other option for this is Microsoft ICM. Changed to that, close/open Photoshop and 3001 came in no problem. So did the Nikon 3000, srgb IEC 61922 2.1 and Untagged. However, when briging in an Adobe RGB(1998) image Photoshop notes Profile Mismatch. It allows me to decide what to do (use embedded profile instead of workspace; convert color to work space color; discard embedded profile. and I choose use the convert color and it loads ok. At least it loads the image! Will use this approach for now. I need to get educated on color profiles!!

Custom search using boolean attribute set to True gives no result
I am setting up an auto-query using the custom search portlet. This is to show all items where a boolean custom attribute is checked, ie = True.
In step 3 I have tried to set the operator to Equals to and the default value to True. This gives no results even though several items have this attribute set to True.
The Auto Query check box is checked.Found that True = 1 in database. When set to this the search works.
