Hierarchy Nodes Display problem in the query
Hi
I have an organizational hierarchy upto 6 levels of nodes.
When it is displyed in the query only the first three levels are getting displayed.
When i see in the restricted area ( when restricting values ) i find all the nodes displayed but when query is executed i dont see anything.
Are there setting thats needs to be made in order to see the entire hierarchy.
regards
sundaresanWhen you restrict any query you can see all the nodes of hierarchy, but when you run it you can see only those nodes for which value exists in infoprovider.
Corss check if you have any other restrictions also. -

Assigning System variables in query designer
Hi all,
My requirement is that For a field CALENDAR DAY, i Want to set the default values so that it displays the data for last seven days from the current system date by using sy-datum. This should be done without using customer exit logic.Can anyone tel me how can this be done in Bex query designer.Hi Imanik,
I think using custom exit to arrive to a solution of your issue is the most efficient way as of now.
Alternatively you can write a routine in ETL Where in you can check if Sy-Datum - 7 <= Calday, then you can have a field Flag in Infoprovider which would be populated by X in this case. Later on in Bex you can have a filter on Calday = X. But this scenario works only when you are doing:
1. A full load.
2. You are running the query on the same day you are doing this full load.

30EA4 Problem using MySql: "Query execution was interrupted"
Any query executes the first time but a second execution always causes the error "Query execution was interrupted"
(Update: I just installed the prodcution release of sql delveloper 2.1.1.64.45 and have the same issue)
I am using MySql driver 5.1.15
Others seem to have a similar issue and I tries the older JDBC drivers but the 5.0.4 cause the connection to hang and the 5.0.8 caused the same problem "Query execution was interrupted"
Vendor Code 1317 Query execution was interrupted MySQL
I am using Windows7 64 bit (sql developer and jdk are 32 bit), see below

Edited by: user501466 on 19-Mar-2011 03:21Hi Dermot,
Some clarification.
I have tried these 3 drivers below with the following results:
5.0.4 First Query succeeds, Second gives error "Unknown prepared statement handler (131072) given to mysqld_stmt_execute". At this point I can exit SQL Developer. If I run it a third time then the query does not complete and any attempt to exit SQL Developer results in "Connection is currently busy, try again?" and ultimately I have to kill it.
5.0.8 First Query succeeds, Second Query fails with Query execution was interrupted. Subsequent queries give the same result.
5.1.15 Same as 5.0.8
I tried your suggestion, removed the driver, restarted, installed the 5.0.4 driver and restated and ran the test,
(I added a drop table so I could run it repeatedly) and it works repeatedly if I choose "Run as script F5".
DROP TABLE table1;
CREATE TABLE table1(col1 int);
INSERT INTO Table1 values(1);
SELECT * FROM table1;
SELECT * FROM table1;
But If I execute the query "select * from table1" using "Run Statement Ctrl-Enter" twice then I get problem behaviour as described above.
I looked in the logfile for SQLDeveloper but it was empty.
I also tried creating a new database as root and connecting as root (same result)
I also tried the NightlyBuild of 5.1 and 6.0 but gave the same result as 5.1.5.
I have two other tools for accessing MySql: Toad and MySql workbench, both of which work but I've used SQL Developer with Oracle for some years and would like to keep using it.
I just tried connecting to a remote MySQL database and that seems to work without problems.
I'm thinking it may be related to some incompatibility between SQLDeveloper and the MySQL installed locally.
I'll try another version....
Ok I installed a 32 bit version of MySql 5.5.10. I thought things were working but now I still get the problem but it is much more intermittent.
Now I can get it by modifying the query ie.
select * from table1; (works repeatedly untill followed by a change to the query)
select * from table1 order by col1; (fails)
Another case
select * from table1 order by col1; (works repeatedly)
select * from table1 order by col1 asc; (fails first time)
very weird...

Hi All,
I am installing/setting up HR PAPA Cubes. As part of that I am moving Organizational unit hierarchy to BW (ORGEH on 0ORGUNIT). The default version of Org Unit hierarchy in BW queries is version 000. My HR consultant does not know this version and wants to use version 01. What is the version 000 for?
Any advice on what version to use?
Thanks, ReynirReynir,

Create table problem using Dynamic Query
Hi all,
I want to create a temporary table within a stored procedure so I decided to do it using a dynamic query:
create or replace procedure p1
as
begin
execute immediate 'CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE tt(id number(2))';
end;
/ It created successfuly but when I execute that procedure I got:SQL> exec p1;
BEGIN p1; END;
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
ORA-06512: at "SCOTT.P1", line 4
ORA-06512: at line 1 While I can create that table using the same user without any problem!
My question is:What privilege should I grant to user(minimum of privileges please! ) to execute that procedure successfuly?
-ThanksHi,
To say a little bit more about Nicolas' answer:
SQL> grant create table to scott;
This is the right answer, but you might wonder why you have to do so if you usually can create tables with this user..

Performance problem using distributed query
Hi,
Can anyone provide an explanation/solution to the following problem encountered on an 8.1.7 database:
SELECT /*+ DRIVING_SITE(vs) */
vs.col2
,user_defined_function
FROM v_remote_table_1 vs
,v_remote_table_2 vc
,local_table_1 s
WHERE vp.col1 = vs.col1
AND s.col1 = vs.col2
AND vs.col2 = &some_val
This generalised query joins two tables in a remote database schema to a table in the local database schema and returns a single row. Without the call to the local user defined function, my specific query returns the row in less than a second. As soon as I include any local user defined function call, even a call to a dummy function which simply returns a string, my query takes several minutes to return its row. Explain plan gives exactly the same plan for both versions of the query, but the statistics are different:
Version without call to function
================================
8 recursive calls
0 db block gets
7 consistent gets
0 physical reads
0 redo size
235 bytes sent via SQL*Net to client
311 bytes received via SQL*Net from client
2 SQL*Net roundtrips to/from client
0 sorts (memory)
0 sorts (disk)
1 rows processed
Version with call to function
=============================
93 recursive calls
4 db block gets
109 consistent gets
1998 physical reads
0 redo size
288 bytes sent via SQL*Net to client
312 bytes received via SQL*Net from client
2 SQL*Net roundtrips to/from client
2 sorts (memory)
2 sorts (disk)
1 rows processed
I'm assuming that, when calling a local function, the DRIVING_SITE hint is ignored, but I don't know why. It's quite important that we are able to include the results of function calls in the query. Any ideas as to the cause of the degraded performance and possible solutions to it would be most welcome!
Thanks.....I would try something like:
SELECT r.col2,user_defined_function
FROM (SELECT vs.col2
FROM v_remote_table_1 vs, v_remote_table_2 vp
WHERE vp.col1 = vs.col1 AND
vs.col2 = &some_val) r,
local_table_1 s
WHERE s.col1 = r.col2Thismay allow Oracle to better seperate the calls to the two databases.

Problems using native query in Active Directory connector v 9.1
Hello,
Has anyone ran into a problem when trying to do a query with a not operator?
I want to import all users, but not computers.. so I tried the query (&(objectClass=user)(!objectclass=computer))
I tried this query directly in the active directory and it worked.
The problem is when I apply it to OIM it gives out the following error:

Drill down in query when structure is in use (in query designer)
Hi Guys,
I have a structure in a report. This report was created with a characteristics structure.
Now I have a problem like this for example:
Three company codes 1000, 1100.
Turn over 100000.
Now the report shows only the turn over for all company codes.
Company codes 100000
I thought the navigation / drill down for company codes will be automatically available.
I expected
Company code 1000 80000
Company code 1100 20000
Result 100000
Is there something what should be activated extra?
I a hierarchy mandatory for structures?
Edited by: saplaz on May 23, 2011 3:22 PMHi,
Either make use of hierarchy or make use of selection in structure.
create selections for all the compay code which you want to display in your query output.
Like make a new selection inside that drag and drop company code and select the value after that restrict it whith your desired key figure.
By following the above steps you will get the repective turnover of comapny codes against each other.
Hope it helps.

Using Query Designer both for 3.5 and 7.0
Hi all,
<u>Is it possible to use different Query Designer versions (3.5 and 7.0) parallelly on the same machine ?</u>
I have customer A using BW 3.5 and new customer B who will use 7.0.
I need to install Query Designer 7.0 and create reports for customer B.
But I still need to maintain customer A's queries and they were created via QDesigner 3.5.
Since I'll just have QDesigner 7.0 finally, if I use it to edit these 3.5 queries, they won't be editable again via 3.5 Query Designer. Which means they'll seems as corrupt for the customer, since they can't open them with their own query designer (3.5)
I need to reach all queries for all customer systems via their own version of Query Designer.
I wonder what's SAP solution to handle this situation.Hello Rozz,
You can run both the query Designers on Bi7.0 System.
But, you can not access the same query using the both query designers.

Using the Query Partitioning Technique for calling reports from forms.
Hello everyone,
I am having problems using the Query partitioning technique which does not work (??) on the web environment. It seems like you are currently using it. However, I'm not sure whether you have tried this on the web environment. Anyway, see if you can help me please.
I am populating a record group using data from a form and then pass it as a data parameter to report.
I use the following codes:
Add_Parameter(list_id,'Q_1',DATA_PARAMETER,rg_name); /* rg_name is my record group */
repid := find_report_object('myrep');
v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid, list_id); /* list_id is my parameter list */
In client-server mode, I set the report destination type to preview and it works fine. Data from the record group are displayed in the report.
To run it on the web environment, I use the following properties:
Report destination type: cache
Report server: repserver
I get no output and the Reports Queue Manager shows the following:
Description:
Name: /test/pfs/kn/rep/kn211rp0.rdf
Owner: dev6
Destination: Cache Only
Destination Name:
Status:
Current status: [Repserver] Terminated with Error
REP-0076: Internal failure in product integration.
Thank you again for a reply
Kind Regards
Yogeeraj Degambur
PS. I am working on the HP-UX environment. Versions: Dev6i patch 5a, Oracle 8.0.5hello,
check the whitepaper "Oracle9iAS Forms Services 6i and Reports Integration" which can be found on otn.oracle.com/products/forms

JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.
