JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.
Please anybody help me.

Hi,
This is a typical front end issue where you have to look at your GUI patch and front end patch.I recommend you deinstalling your frontend installation as follows:
- Remove your frontend via 'START' - 'PROGRAMS' - 'SAP FRONTEND' -
   'REMOVE SAP FRONTEND'
- Install the newest frontend and GUI patch and check the installation with sapbexc.xla
Please run the front-end checktool SAPBEXC.XLA as per Note 918394 and ensure there are no errors.
Path for frontend patches
Please goto
-> service.sap.com/patches
->entry by application group
->SAP Frontend Components
->SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS
->SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS 6.40
->SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS 6.40
->Win32
->Apply latest frontend patch
Once the installation is done run the installation check file as per note 918394 and ensure that there are no red flags.

  • Query designing problem while applying cell properties

    Hello Experts,
    I have a problem while designing query. Problem is as follow:
    I have a calculated field on key figure column. This key figure calculates variance between 2 columns.
    for E.g I have 2 columns Budget and Actual and third column is %Variance which should be
    1. ((Actual - Budget)/Budget) *100 or
    2. ((Budget -Actual)/Budget)*100, depening on some values on the row i should use any of these 2 formulas but the result should be dispalyed in single column % Variance.
    how can i change the formula in key figures depending on these conditions. I can achieve this by applying cells but i dont want to do so as it is very complex way to desing these queries.
    also let me know applying cells on query affects its performance or not?
    Regards,
    Nirav

    Hi Nitin,
    Your reply may help me.
    But my exact requirement is not that. Requirement is as follow:
    I have created Char. Structure in row which contains few rows as revenue and few rows as expense.
    I created them by creating selections. Now in case of expense the variance should be                (Budget-Actual)/Budget *100.
    In case of revenue variance should be (Actual-Budget)/Budget *100.
    So, here i have to find out revenue & expense char. iresspective of which one is greater.

  • Query designer problem with SAP GUI 7.10

    I recently installed the SAP GUI 7.10 and when I'm going to apply or remove a filter in any characteristic, this error is shown :
    <b>----
    BEx Query Designer
    Run-time error '-2147417848 (80010108)':
    Automation error
    The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.
    OK
    </b>
    Anybody knows what to do?
    Tnks in advance.

    I had a similar problem after "upgrading" to SAPGUI 7.10, except my failure was in the BEx Analyzer. (We are still using BW 3.5 SP 18.)
    The solution I found was in SAP Note 1039191 which addresses this problem for both the Analyzer and the Query Designer, and includes a revised "wdbsPres.dll" file as a workaround. After downloading and installing this file, the problem was resolved.
    BTW, I have asked SAP when this will be fixed in a future FEP, but they have so far only given me a very ambiguous reply suggesting that I try it on another PC.
    Hope this helps...

  • BEx Query Designer problem when generate URL to IE

    Hello everyone,
    When I click the "Execute" button to run a query in Query Designer , it pop-up a IE windows with URL:
    http:///irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?QUERY=ZSALESREP01&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1
    And IE display that "The address is not valid".
    I think the reason is  that there are some configuration not do.
    Could any guys tell me what configuration should be done ?
    Thank you!
    BR,
    Louis

    Hi,
    I think the Bex service is not confirgured correctly in your system.
    For the WEB functionality to work corectly in your BW system there are several configurations that should be done. They are the Host name, listening ports, Protocols and the ICF service should be maintained & activated. The transactions involved are SMICM and SICF where you can check for these settings...
    Refer to the hot to document on SDN:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/994a06ed-0c01-0010-878b-e796a9060209
    Which gives the complete step by step instructions. check these settings in your system and contact your basis or portal team to configure them correctly.

  • Query designing problem

    Hello I am trying to build a Query .
    I am facing problem . I want it following way in Columns = Keyfigure
    Net volume (User entry period range)------Net volume (period range for previous year)
    So user should select only once the period range for first net volume and it should give the result for both selected period range and same period for previous year.
    How to do this.???
    Points will be awarded

    Hi there,
    Put your key figure in the columns, then double click it which opens up a selection box. Bring the time parameter (Fiscal Period) over into the selection from the Dimensions options in the left hand panel.
    Put the variable on Fiscal Period which prompts the user for the time.
    Click OK.
    This lets you combine a characteristic and a key figure in the one selection.
    Now copy and paste the key figure/(selection. On the version you have pasted, double click it to open up the selection box. Select Restrict on the Fiscal Period, when the Selection for Fiscal Period opens up, you will see the variable you have selected on the right hand side of the dialogue box. Right mouse click it and select Specify Variable offset.  If you want the second period to go back one month, enter -1, if you want it to go back a year select -12.

  • Query Design Problem

    I have the following requirement:
    Cube A has CHAR1, CHAR2, CHAR3, VALUE1, VALUE2, CALDAY
    For a query I want:
    Rows: CHAR1, CHAR2
    Columns: VALUE1, VALUE2, X
    X should be equal to the number of different occurences of CHAR3 (for each CHAR1, CHAR2 combination). I can have for the same CHAR1,CHAR2,CHAR3 combination a lot of records (with diferent CALDAY), but I only to count each different CHAR1,CHAR2,CHAR3 combination. For example with facts table:
    A, B, C, 20, 10, 01.01.2008
    A, B, D, 10, 20, 02.01.2008
    D, E, F, 5  , 15, 01.01.2008
    D, E, F, 10 , 20, 02.01.2008
    G, H, I, 5, 20, 01.01.2008
    The output should be:
    CHAR1    CHAR2        VALUE1       VALUE2           X
        A             B                 30                 30              2
        D             E                 15                 35              1
        G             H                  5                  20              1
    Can I do this with a query?
    Tks

    Problem is solved by adding a counter key figure X with exception aggregate on 0CALDAY.

  • Business Query designer

    Hi All
    I try to see Bex Queries in Business Objects Designer. Bex  7.0
    Trouble : I try to click on the click box : Allow external queries in the Tab More (sorry I have them in German, so the translation is not perfect)
    and the click box is greyed (disabled)
    Any help will be welcomed
    Thanks in advance
    Vince

    Hi Santosh
    Thanks for your reply regarding the Business Query Designer Problem. I'm taking charge of the issue made by Vincent_BO.
    I think you missunderstood our Problem.
    It has nothing to do with the Language Configuration. When we create a new Query in Query Designer, it is possible to cross the Flag: "Allow External Access for this Query" under the right Panel: Options, register: advanced. ->please give me your email adress to send you the print screen of this configuration. Or is it possible to add a picture to this forum?
    Now the problem is:
    When we open an existing Query (from Bex) this Flag is disabled. (Please have a look on the following print screen again)
    How can we enable this flag? we allready tried to copy a existing Query but the flag is still disabled. Is it possible to change this configuration directly on the database? which field in wich table would this be?
    Thans so much for your help!!

    I have a problem when i try to do a Universe from a Bex Query Designer.
    When I use a Characteristic Restrictions in a Structure, the universe only show me the structure without the objects inside it.
    EJ:
    1) Bex Query Designer
    Colunms
    (Structure) ZSRT_123
                          - (Characteristic Restrictions) Reg Guayana
    >          (InfoObject)     0Product = 'XXX'
    >          (InfoObject)     0Country = 'YYY'
         - (Characteristic Restrictions) Reg Caracas
    >          (InfoObject)     0Product = 'AAA'
    >          (InfoObject)     0Country = 'BBB'
    Rows
    (Structure) ZSRT_456
                   (Key Figure)     Net Sales
    2) Universe designer
    (Class) ZSRT_456
    >(Measure)      Net Sale
    (Class)     ZSRT_123
    >(Dimension)      ZSRT_123
    The universe dont translate the two Characteristic Restrictions in the structure ZSRT_123.
    Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi,
    I assume that you are using BOE XI 3.1 SP2.
    We have added an option in SP2 to generate or not the L00 level.
    Unfortunately this option applies not only on characteristics but also on hierarchies, hierarchies variables and structures: that's the reason why you have no elements belonging to the structure generated.
    I recommend to always generate L00 in order to have your structure generated correctly.
    This issue will be fixed in SP3.

    Didier

    Hi Vishal,
    1) Try to remove the addin and then add again.(Before doing this close all the excel process from the task Manager)
    2) Check weather essexcln.xll and essxleqd.xla are corrupted.

  • Problem with Variable in Query Designer.

    hi all,
    we have a variable ZAMREG on characteristic AM Region, where AM region is attribute for two different master data objects mastobj1 and mastobj2, we have different infosets build on these two master data objects along with some other ODS.
    now this variable ZAMREG is visible in one of the infosets only in query designer, whereas it is not visible in the other infoset.
    what could be the problem??
    thanks,
    Rk

    Hi,
    Please check if that variable is created locally or globally. If it is a local variable in any query, it will not appear in any other query.
    In anyways, you can always create one more variable if the older one is not available. This will not make much of difference. I would suggest go ahead with creating a new variable.

  • Problem in Query Designer Tool Bar

    Hi
                In BI 7.0, Query Designer Tool Bar unable to see Table View. Is their any patch problem ?.
    Thanks in advance
    Mahesh.

    OSS note: 1002271.
    Reason and Prerequisites
    After much discussion we have decided
    not to include the table mode in BI 7.0.
    Solution
    There is (in our opinion) a better alternative to the table view:
    Create a query with only one structure and use
    Report Designer to design your own table view. This allows you
    to arrange the columns and many other
    formatting and grouping options as you wish.

  • Problem Opening a query in query designer

    Hi Friends,
    I am trying to open an existing query in the Query designer, but im getting a message " Bex Transport request is not available or not suitable". I have assigned a package transport request to the package, even after that im still getting this message.
    Can anyone please let me know where am i going wrong?
    Your help is verymuch appreciated.
    Regards
    BN

    Hi,
    The transport request of the query was moved to QA.Basically,
    BEx query should be in transport request.Then only you can edit it.
    So collect the query in transport request. It will solve your problem.

  • Problem with Query designing

    Hi All,
    I had created a query and started designing a crystal report.
    But after designing the report, i came to know that some infoobjects are missing in the query.
    So i went to query designer and added the corresponding infoobjects inorder, they could reflect while designing my crystal report.
    But when i have reopened the report the field explorer is not showing the infoobjects which i have added newly.
    In crystal reports what is the way to obtain those objects which are newly added to the query.
    Even i have refreshed the field explorer many times but still it is not showing the updated objects.
    But if i go creating a new report on the same query, there it is showing the added objects as well.
    Only for the new report i could able to see the newly added objects in field explorer but not for the old report.
    Please let me know the solution for this problem ASAP.
    Best Regards
    Jiten

    Jiten,
    i think if you click Database--->Verify Database and also try Set datasource location -
    >Update.
    this should do the trick.

  • BEx Query Designer Opening Problem

    Hi Guys,
    I am working on BI 7.0. My system OS is Windows XP. When i try to open Query Designer it showing an as below.
    Component 'BEx Query Designer': available version 154, version 229 required.
    Before you can continue you have to run the front-end setup.
    please let me know to resolve this issue.
    Thanks
    Murali

    Hi Murali,
    To make sure it works, you should make sure that:
    When you installed the SAP GUI, you have checked the BI option (in addition to the BW option)
    Install the latest front end patch (BI patch 7) from SAP Marketplace
    I highly recommand to also install the BI SP07 patch for the server - it adds lots of stability for the front end.
    It works pretty well for us, I am sure you will also eventually make it work
    hope this solves ur problem....

    Bala...
