4-7Mpbs what exactly do i get?

Seems like the content got erased.
Let me restate the question (as replied below)
I stated clearly in the original post.
I just want to know what exactly does 4-7Mpbs DOWNLOAD means? Does it mean the advertise speed is somewhere between 4 and 7 Mpbs?

It means the connection between your DSL modem and the Central office will be somewhere between 4 and 7 million bits per second. What sort of speed test results you get varies considerably because of network traffic and shaping done upstream of you DSL connection by Verizon and just about every other part of the internet.
The 4-7 mbps tier requires a relatively short copper pair between you and the Central Office, and that the pair be in good condition. Exactly what you get you will be able to determine from the transceiver statistics once you are connected.
That translates to .5 to .875 million bytes per second if there are no bottlenecks upstream. What the DSL modem and Central Office equipment negotiate speed will be the lower of either the provisioned speed (if you have a 4-7Mbps plan, it is 7mbps), or the highest speed the DSL modem can negotiate with Central Office Equipment. That speed is very sensitive to both the distance from the Central Office, and the condition of the copper pair, and in some cases, the wiring inside the house.
I believe the uplink on the 1-3, and 4-7 mbps tiers is 768kbps, but YMMV due to the condition of the copper pair. Generally the Kbps uplink is good for a much longer distance then the 4-Mbps downlink is.
Hope that answers you question.

  • [Oracle 10.2.0.3] What exactly are "buffer gets" in V$SQLAREA?

    I've found this page
    [http://www.billmagee.co.uk/oracle/sqltune/080_identify.html]
    in which is said:
BUFFER_GETS Cumulative total of memory blocks read for this statement
so if I want to see how many blocks a query read per execution I must do ((disk_reads+buffer_gets)/executions) as suggested from the query on the same page.
    select sql_text,
    executions,
    to_char((((disk_reads+buffer_gets)/executions) * 8192)/1048576,
    '9,999,999,990.00')  as total_gets_per_exec_mb,
    to_char((( disk_reads             /executions) * 8192)/1048576,
    '9,999,999,990.00')  as disk_reads_per_exec_mb,
    to_char((( buffer_gets            /executions) * 8192)/1048576,
    '9,999,999,990.00')  as buffer_gets_per_exec_mb,
    parsing_user_id
    from   v$sqlarea
    where  executions > 0
order by 6 descThis is correct?
Buffer gets refers only to the block found in the buffer cache (not loaded from disk) or to the total amount of db block on which the query works (indipendetly if they are found immediately in the buffer cache or must be read from disk) ?
    Hope you can help me.
    Thanks

Yes, the index is appearing on the dba_indexes table, however its state is 'UNUSABLE'.
It looks impdp takes its state from origin metadata, puts into destination, and even is not trying to rebuild it.
Of course, after running ALTER INDEX REBUILD its status was changed to VALID.
So, what's the point impdp tells about its state? It can be hundreds of unusable indexes, why it's not just rebuilding it?

  • What exactly do you get with the analytics?

So I've been trying to do some research on the Analytics that you get with both the pro and enterprise account... and I've yet to get a clear answer as to what type of analyitics you even get in general...  the best I could find is that you can tie in SiteCatylst with the enterprise account...  but that doesn't tell me anything more than "you get analytics with pro, and you can plug in with sitecatylst with enterprise!"
So besides the basic "this was downloaded X amount of times"  what type of analytics do you even get?  and what are the additional analytics you get with enterprise subscription?
    Anyone got a nice list?
    Thanks ahead of time...

You can learn about base-level analytics here (video included):

This topic is general because the type of base reports provided is continually changing based on feedback. If you have an account with SiteCatalyst, your analytics data is much more extensive and customizable. • If I managed to replace my iPad Mini with Out-Of-Warranty Service, what exactly am I getting?

Ok, original iPad Mini, 32 GB, iOS 8.1.2
So, long story short, my iPad Mini's screen is pretty much cracked. I read that I could get a replacement that will be "new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability." I read that thinking that I'll get the iPad Mini 3 if I hand in my iPad Mini for service. Am I right? If I am, I have one lingering concern: since my iPad Mini is the 32 GB model, which the iPad Mini 3 doesn't come in, does that mean that I'll have to downgrade to 16 GB? Or upgrade to 64 GB? Or maybe I can only get the iPad Mini Retina since that one does have a 32 GB model. Not that it bothers me too much if I get a Retina, or heck, the original (as long as I don't have to downgrade to 16 GB) but it would be nice if someone could clarify this for me before I send the iPad in.
Also, I'm new here, I have no idea where else this post can go.

You will get a refurbished iPad Mini, 32GB service replacement unit just like you have now.

  • What is Exact logic to get BOM ITEM

    Hi all,
BOm Item retrival logic is giving item ,But checked in CS03 there is no BOM ITEM present for that material and plant combination.
Tried with FM 'CSAP_MAT_BOM_ITEM_SELECT 'and BAPI ' CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ'  to get Material BOM ITEM...Its working perfect and not giving any Item.....its correct output.
But I dont want to use BAPI and FM.
Please let me know anyone...what is Exact logic to get ITEM.
My logic involves MAST -> STKO -> STAS -> STPO.
Edited by: amit soni on Aug 26, 2011 11:15 AM

Not pretty sure what you need.  My guess is that you want to know the link between the table related to BOM master and for some reason don't want to use the FM or BAPI.
MAST  ->  Matnr (mat), werks (plant), stlan (bom usage), stlal (alt.bom #), you will get the stlnr (internal bom number).  Note that if you have multiple BOM, you will get the same alt bom#.
STKO -> Use stlty (BOM Category = M Material), stlnr (BOM#), stlal (alt BOM#), you get the BOM header.
STAS -> stlty (BOM Category = M Material), stlnr (BOM#), stlal (Alt BOM#), you get the STLKN ( item node)
STPO -> stlty (BOM Category = M Material), stlnr (BOM#), stlkn (item node), you get the right item from the BOM header specified.
Hope this is what you want.

  • What exactly does a new poster have to do to get permission to post images?

Recently there was a forum update that disabled new posters to add images
(AND links?) Supposedly this was to reduce spam. So far so good.
Not surprisingly, immediately after the update we have numerous posts in the Forums Issues forum complaining about this feature and no doubt plenty of users just submitting to this policy in silence.
This whole feature is a SEVERE (that's right. bold AND in caps) hindrance. I don't have the stats, but I'm sure a considerable percentage of
(non spam) original posts are from new users with no previous forum activity. Pictures are especially important in the Chart Control forum as visualization is what charting is all about.
(This is the forum I frequent. So yes, I'm biased.)
Ofcourse, I'm sure the forum developers have weighed the pros and cons and studied the stats and then decided what to do after serious consideration...
The question is: What exactly does a new poster have to do to get permission to post images? Wait for how long? Reply to a confirmation email? "Participate" more?
(Say it ain't so.) How much more?
If there really is a workaround by adding an image tag with the edit html button, I don't want to hear it. It's as silly a way to add images as in the before times, the long long ago.
(Also, if this is possible, this whole restriction feature is actually worse than useless. Spammers will exploit this sooner than later. (A very good point made by our dear friend Quincy in a post that has since been deleted it
    seems.))

I believe answering that question defeats the purpose of having the "feature".
    I suspected as much.
I was hoping to add some explanation to the chart forum FAQ, I guess "Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account."
(if this really is the only message new posters get) will have to do.
I still feel this is more of a hindrance to the quality of the forums than not. As confirmed it seems by Naomi, spammers already have a workaround.
Sipla, it sounds like we should add this FAQ to this article:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/7359.forums-help-faq-en-us.aspx
    What do you suggest?
What does the message say to the user who cannot post links and images yet? We should map to that language.
    Thanks!
Ed Price (a.k.a User Ed), SQL Server Customer Program Manager (Blog,
    Twitter,
    Wiki)
It says "Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account."
If this means you will get a verify email, then you should get a verify email.  The message infers that either action will be taken by the forum mods that will be apparent to the user or that the user needs to take some sort of action.
If this is not the case, the wording needs to be changed; it should not mislead you.  This is an incredibly vague status message.
I do not have any record of a verify email in my inbox history.  All I have is an email this morning from MSDN Site Support (I also posted a request yesterday in MSDN Site Feedback) asking me which account I needed verified.  I only have one account.
Almost immediately after I replied, I was able to post links and photos.  Honestly I do not know which came first though, the "verification" or my reply to the email or someone noticing the thread about compaining about it a month after signing up.

  • I am confused about Icloud. I have a 5 year old Macbook, a 2 year old macbook and a 5 year old mac mini. What exactly do I need to do to get all this connected via Icloud. I also have an Iphone 3G. Help please!

I am confused about Icloud. I have a 5 year old Macbook, a 2 year old macbook and a 5 year old mac mini. What exactly do I need to do to get all this connected via Icloud. I also have an Iphone 3G. Help please! Also, I still don't understand exactly what the benefits are. At the moment it seems a lot of hassle to change a system that's been working perfectly well and that I'm very happy with. I'm not at all sure whether the mac mini (1.66 GHz INtel Core Duo) can be brought up to the relevant spec to run ICloud.  Any thoughts?

There are two aspects to iCloud.  One is simply getting an account, or migrating a mobileme account to iCloud.  The second part is using the various features of iCloud to sync contacts, calendars, use music match or photo sharing, and store iWorks documents.
First to get an iCloud account:
If you have a mobileme account, you can migrate by simply logging onto www.icloud.com (ignore any references to Lion and just click through to complete the migration).  If you have OS X Lion or an iOS 5 mobile device, you can create an iCloud account on that device using any valid AppleID.
Once you have an account, you can use JUST the mail account if you wishi - it is a standard IMAP account so you would set it up like any other IMAP email account you have, in whatever client program you use to read email.
To use the OTHER feautes of iCloud, your computers will have to be running OS X Lion (10.7).  Your iPhone 3G will never be able to use iCloud as it cannot run iOS 5 (you need a min. of an iPhone 3GS to run iOS 5).
The requirements for OS X Lion are here - http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html  You need a min. of a Core 2 duo processor so you mini is not capable of running Lion.
So, in your case, the single reasons for iCloud would be if you have a mobileme account, then use the online www.icloud.com to migrate your account so you do not lose your @me.com email address.  You can use iCloud email (without using any other iCloud features) by setting it up as IMAP mail with these settings - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864
If you want an iCloud account and do NOT already have a mobileme account, you will need to upgrade one machine at least to Lion in order to be able to create an iCloud account.

Water damage isn't covered by warranty, but you could always purchase a refurbished device from Apple.

  • Db2ckbkp -d \\.\tape0 - What exactly is "\\.\tape0" how do I get this info

    Hello All,
I am asking a silly question, but I have never worked on this.
    When I use,
    db2ckbkp -d
    .\tape0 -> What exactly is "
.\tape0" how do I get this info for my tape which is already mounted on the Server?

    Hi,
this is the name of the tape device being used.
    Please check the following notes:

  • What exactly is the appId in getApplicationPolicy() ?

I need some explanation what exactly appid is in the following method:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12839_01/apirefs.1111/e14650/oracle/security/jps/service/policystore/PolicyStore.html#getApplicationPolicy_java_lang_String_
ApplicationPolicy getApplicationPolicy(java.lang.String appId)Is it the name of application which access policy store? or Application's stripe id?
The reason I' asking is that we have multiple applications, e.g. app1, app2 etc. however, we've merged the policies into one stripe in policy store. one set of policies under this stripe are used by all of applications. in this case, should I pass each application name as appid or the stripe name when calling this method?
    Thanks

But pre-ordering it just makes you want it more. If I got it a day earlier, say, or perhaps something else then I would pre-order it now.
What they did with James album was a really cool idea, if you buy it before a certain date you get first shot at concert tickets when they come out. Handy thing to have if you are a fan.
Sadly though the album didn't really grab me on 30 second sample and they are not touring near where I live anyway.

  • What exactly is being synced in Mail?

In System Preferences>.Mac>Sync there is a checkbox for Mail, another one for Mail Settings (or so, I can't check because I have a keychain error that does not allow me to get to the Sync page). Can anyone tell me what exactly it is, that is being synced??? I understand that the mail (i.e messages) itself are being synced between Macs in a different way.
Thanks for any light (or any pointers) you can throw onto this difficult subject.
    Thanks in advance.

I take this question off the forum, although it is not answered.

  • What exactly are the updates good for on an ipod

I ask because mine is windows format, and im having trouble transferring all the metadata off my ipod with senuti to a back up so that i can reformat the ipod to mac and then sync in my senuti backed up library. I was wondering if anyone knows what exactly are the updates that you get. my ipod is 1.2 5thgen.
If i were to have the latest update would i be able to see album cover art view when the ipod is plugged into itunes? I noticed that i can see that view in library mode but not in ipod mode. (my pod isnt synced)...
so what are these updates good for?

    hey thanks for your reply.
I do have it set to manual and i can see the art on the ipod by itself, but even with manual transfer itunes wont let me view the artwork modes unless i am playing off my computers library (which doesn't have the songs on my ipod on it). I called apple earlier today and some tech support guy claimed that itunes does not support this feature. Is this correct? can anyone out there see artwork modes on an unsynced ipod through itunes?

  • What exactly ARE the .pkg files that collect in the 'Receipts' folder?

    Hi there all.
Those .pkg files that collect in HDD>Library>Receipts. What exactly ARE these packages for? How do they tie in with Disk Utility's 'Repair permissions' option? Why do we need to keep them?
It's all Unix to me ;0)

I used to delete .pkg files after I'd installed an application. I thought i was just the electronic equivalent of throwing away the empty box after I'd bought something.
The "cardboard box" icon encouraged me to think that.
Then someone said you should never throw away those.pkg files.
    So I stopped.
But the only thing that has ever happened is that during permissions repair, I get a few lines here and there that say "could not repair permissions".
I have experienced no other problems of any kind over about the last 2 years. All applications running normally, nothing weird happening.
