Access sql table

Hi
How do you access sql table to get data reflected in planning forms (apart from the HAL or via API) , Here we are using Planning 9.3.1. Is there any other way to access data.
regards
M.V

You load data into the underlying Essbase database, so you can use the native capabilities there.
Those include a SQL Interface tool that allows you to pull directly from relational tables/schemas using standard SQL statements via Essbase load rules. The next stage up from this is to use the Integration Services (EIS) toolset that enables you to create complex integrations via models and use these to push data into Essbase.
Hope this helps

    Hi,
    I am trying a scenario, where I need to send an user ID to SQL server table (update/modify/delete) from webDynpro ABAP application.
    Basically ,I am trying to know:---
    a>How to write a SQL Connection from ABAP code within webdynpro ABAP application
    b>What are the ways to do it.(by code or any other API/mechanism)
    I appreciate if anybody knows this.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    The EXEC CONNECT ... is usually used in the procedural ABAP code. For this you can refer to the ABAPDOCU.
    I dont have any sample code on the classes I listed try to check out them for the parameters and the methods they have.
    In WD for Java, we have these connection classes to connect to any databsae server.
    Or try to create an RFC with DESTINATION for this
    Pls check out this link for this -

  • Accessing PL/SQL table in SQL query

    Hello,
    Is it possible to use plain SQL to query PL/SQL table? In my case this table is returned by UTL_HTTP.REQUEST_PIECES function, which is defined as:
    create or replace package utl_http is
    type html_pieces is table of varchar2(2000) index by binary_integer;
    function request_pieces (url in varchar2,
    max_pieces natural default 32767)
    return html_pieces;
    pragma restrict_references (request_pieces, wnds, rnds, wnps, rnps);
    Generally, I want to access chunks of external data for comparison without using PL/SQL. Thanks ahead for ideas. Ideally, I need working example because my attempts to use TABLE & CAST failed.

    I was going to suggest you could try and create your own wrapper around utl_http and use a database type, but then I remembered this excellent thread which covers it better than I ever could - Billy, hope you don't mind passing on your good work!

  • TIME_OUT when accessing Oracle table from SAP using native SQL

    Hi,
    I have a problem in one of my native SQL statement. It takes a long time accessing the table considering that the number of records to be retrieved is only small.
    Something happened on the Oracle system. But, stilll to be confirmed. Looking further at the issue, it seems that when the value in the where clause equated is a literal (meaning the value is not declared in DATA or CONSTANTS in the ABAP Program)
    Example
    1.
    EXEC.
    WHERE FIELD = '1'
    ENDEXEC.
    instead of
    2.
    CONSTANTS: c_1 value '1'.
    EXEC.
    WHERE FIELD = c_1
    ENDEXEC.
    i found that when the way of coding is same as Example 1, a time-out error occurs. But when in Example 2, no issue.
    Can someone explain this?
    Thanks!

    Repetitively asking the same question again and again is against the forum rules.
    Please post an explain of the SQL statement on the remote machine.

    Hello Anuj,
    This is because the COUNT(*) is returning a value which is longer than the INT4 data type it is expecting. If you restrict the selection by introducing a WHERE clause, then you won't get the dump:

    dyn_where = `DOMNAME LIKE 'Z%'`.

    Hi all,
    Can any one tell what this below error message is about in while go into TRFC
    'An SQL error occurred when accessing a table'.
    and please tell me how to solve this problem.

    Hi
    Try to see what all tables are accessed by data source. and see if there is any lock on that..
    If some other job is accessing that table - then there might be lock on that which is causing failure..
    1) Try looking at ST22 dump also..
    2) Try to do RSA3 in R/3 and if see if its is fetching any records or not..

  • Loading issue : Error: sql error in the database while accessing a table

    Hello,
    where as one of the DTP in the process chain failed due to  *Error: sql error in the database while accessing a table*, where as in the short dump it showing as Transaction log of data base is full., but i checked the data base space in DB02, more space is available . once we run the same DTP by manually its successful. its not through  any errors.
    could u please help me out solve the problem.
    Thanks
    siva kumar.

    it might be a lock. do you drop index before loading?
    the database might be full at the moment of loading and not later if many loadings happen at the same time on the same system...
    when you then rerun your dtp manually, it can go through as it's perhaps the only one running at that moment...
    you can try to set the btch parameter to 1...this will help in some cases.

  • Error ODS activation - sql error when accessing a table.

    Hi,
    sometimes occurs an error by activation ODS. I have proces chain and when is loaded second packet an error occurs. In monitor>>
    -RSMPC 128, datapacket 3 is wrong, with status number 9
    -RSMPC 131
    -RSDRO 108 - communcation error (sql error when accessing a table)

    -The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was
    either                                                      caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure <b>"UPDATE_ATAB"</b>   "(FORM)"
    Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception
       to occur, the running program was terminated.
      The reason for the exception is:
      The database system recognized that your last operation on the database
      would have led to a deadlock.
      Therefore, your transaction was rolled back
      to avoid this.
      ORACLE always terminates any transaction that would result in deadlock.
      The other transactions involved in this potential deadlock
      are not affected by the termination.
    I have BW 3.5.
    Thank You very much.

    There are a few different scenarios that I can think of where this might come up that all involve what might resulting in parallel (concurrent)processes:
    Loading packets in parallel - that is there are X number of processes loading packets concurrently. This could be set in your IMG settings system wide or in the InfoPackage for just this datasource.   You seem to indicate that you don't have this.
    Database parallel processing - RSAMDIN - ORA_PARALLEL_DEGREE ( there was a different RSADMIN parm for older versions - forget what SP the change came with).
    You have multiple InfoPackages for the datasource, each loading what should be a different range of data, and they run atthe same time.
    You could be loading from two different datasources to the ODS at the same time.
    If any of these are true, I would look at bumping the INITRANS setting up.  Your DBA will probably need to do this for table and its indices.  There is a Note - 831234 that allows you to create a parameter in RSADMIN that will specify a INITRANS value (e.g. 20) rather than using the default. The ODS would need to be activated to pick this new setting up for the table to be altered.
    You could also look at the Processing settings for the InfoPackage and change to PSA first, then target to see if that helps.
    Or if you are loading from two different datasources at the same time, you might adjust your schedule so that doesn't happen.

  • Import MS Access 2013 tables into SQL Server 2012

    Hi there,
    Is there a step by step example somewhere showing how to import an MS Access 2013 table into SQL Server 2012?
    I have read the existing posts and don't see a definitive answer.
    I have installed MS Access 2010 engine, first 32 bit then 64 bit.
    I have installed the MS Access 2013 runtime on my server.
    I use the Office 2015 Access Database Engine OLE DB Provider.
    I get the error:
    Error 0xc0202009: Source - APEntries [1]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E37.
    Error 0xc02020e8: Source - APEntries [1]: Opening a rowset for "`TableName`" failed. Check that the object exists in the database.
    The post regarding the above errors doesn't resolve the issue.
    I have full administrative permissions on the server.
    What is the trick to making this work?
    Thanks,
    Ric
    Ric Miller

    Hi there,
    I tried the exact same operation on a third machine.
    This machine has Windows 8.1 64 bit, SQL Server 2012 64 bit, MS Office 2013 Plus 32 bit.
    I am the administrator on this machine.
    I installed this:
    Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable 32 bit (because I have MS Office 2013 plus 32 bit installed.)
    From here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255
    It won't let me install the 64 bit version without uninstalling MS Office 32 bit.
    I created an MS Access database on this machine using MS Access 2013 and created a table with 3 records.
    I used the "Import and Export Data (32 bit)" from the start menu.
    After I installed the "Database Engine 2010 32 bit" driver above, I now have the option of "Office 2015 Access Database Engine OLE DB Provider" as Data Source which I did not have prior to doing this installation.
    I selected the driver and added the Properties of the Data Source Name file location of the MS Access file. I am using a blank password.
    I go thru the same sequence of selecting a table to import and after running the result is the same:
    Error 0xc0202009: Source - APEntries [1]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E37.
    "Error 0xc02020e8: Source - APEntries [1]: Opening a rowset for "`TableName`" failed. Check that the object exists in the database."
    This seems to be consistent across three machines with three operating systems with the same files and the same result.
    I understand that some people have gotten this to work.
    I would appreciate it if anyone can report an error in the above procedure to me.
    Thanks,
    Ric

  • Report cannot access pl/sql table variable defined in Package Spec.

    Hi,
    I've created a package spec called pkg_report with a PL/SQL table variable defined called body_text_table. When I tried to compile the following code under the Before Report trigger:
    :desc := pkg_report.body_text_table(1);
    Oracle gave me the following error:
    Implementation Restriction: 'PKG_REPORT.BODY_TEXT_TABLE': Cannot directly access remote package variable or cursor.
    Does anyone have any idea about this error? Thank you for your time at looking at it.
    Regards,
    John

    You cannot directly access the package variable in a database package. The work around is to create a set_variable and get_variable wrapper function in the package body. See Metalink note 105838.1 for more info.
    A simple example:
    create or replace package my_package as
      my_var     number;
      function   get_variable return number ;
      procedure  set_variable (p_value in number) ;
    end ;
    create or replace package body my_package as
      function get_variable return number is
      begin
        return my_var;
      end ;
      procedure set_variable(p_value in number) is
      begin
        my_var := p_value ;
      end ;
    end;

  • ((  SQL DEVELOPER UserName Password??? --- To Access APEX TABLES ))

    How do I access APEX tables from SQL DEVELOPER?
    What do I use as a USERNAME and PASSWORD--
    inside SQL DEVELOPER?
    Hello,
    I have APEX installed on my machine.
    WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL 64 BIT.
    I also have installed:
    ORACLE XE
    and
    SQL DEVELOPER.
    I have applications I have created in APEX
    with various tables.
    Question:
    How can I access my APEX tables from
    within SQL DEVELOPER?
    What USERNAME and PASSWORD do I use?
    I can do this with
    HR
    SQL DEVELOPER USERNAME = HR
    PASSWORD = HR
    This works fine.
    But what about for my own APEX TABLES
    I created inside my own workspace
    inside APEX?
    For example:
    LOGIN TO APEX:
    http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/
    If my
    APEX WORKSPACE = DAVID_WS
    SCHEMA = DAVID_SC
    APEX USERNAME = DAVIDAPEX_UN
    APEX PASSWORD = DAVIDAPEX_PW
    LOGIN TO APEX ADMIN:
    http://localhost:8080/apex/apex_admin
    APEXADMIN USERNAME = DAVIDADMIN_UN
    APEXADMIN PASSWORD = DAVIDADMIN_PW
    So, given the above 6
    NAMES and PASSWORDS above:
    SQL DEVELOPER USERNAME = ????
    SQL DEVELOPER PASSWORD = ????
    Thanks a lot for your help!

    Hello david,
    When you created your workspace with the below details, if the schema "DAVID_SC" was created through APEX, then you should have also specified the password as well.
    APEX WORKSPACE = DAVID_WS
    SCHEMA = DAVID_SC
    APEX USERNAME = DAVIDAPEX_UN
    APEX PASSWORD = DAVIDAPEX_PWIf you dont remember the password for "DAVID_SC", you can log on to your Oracle XE database as a "SYSTEM" user and reset the password of "DAVID_SC".
    Once that is done, you can log on to SQL developer with :
    username : david_sc
    password : <your_new_password>
    Hope it is clear and plz refer to the APEX documentation to get a better understanding of it.
