Hi,
I posted questions for my requirements on Adapter forum but did not get any answer.
Hope this forum can help.
We started a POc with Oracle As adapters for EBS. As part of that we are trying following taks,
1) Connect to multiple EBS instances & deploy individual adapter for same on AS
2) Use these two instances for loadbalancing & scalaing
I am not bale to find information about above two in Oracle Adapter documentation.
I could build sample EBs adpater scenario with concurrent programs and use a default APPS adapter deployed on AS server by modifying oc4j-ra.xml. But failed to delpoy multiple instances that can be viwed from Enterprise Manager.
Also how to configure my adapters for better load balancing and sclaling. Is there any doc link that i can read?

Adapter Engine Load balancing for Messages HTTP SOA/SOE

Greetings all,
We are currently implementing our SOE/SOA solution utilizing SAP services between a .Net Application. Basically .Net -> PI -> ECC and back.
We are load testing the system and are now experiencing the CI getting overloaded.
We have upped the Thread Count (Thread Manager 350 and System Threads 120) and the Queue thread from 5 to 20.
We are using SOAP with Principal Propagation.
There is a hardware load balancer we are using which can spread the load between multiple application servers. We modified the SLDRegistration host and ports (http/https) in Visual Administrator (SAP XI AF CPA Cache) in the global server node.
In SXI_CACHE Got -> Adapter Engine Cache, it displays http://<sidms>:<port>/MessagingSystem/receive/AFW/XI
Is this where the load balancer should be placed with the port name?
Any help would be appreciated.

Issue with Site Configuration / Load Balancing

Were noticing strange behavior with our servers that are configured behind a load balancer. Weve got two servers with different ports and a load balancer:
Server1: https://host1:30003/opensso
Server2: https://host2:30103/opensso
Load Balancer: https://loadbalancer:30003/opensso
When we go to the admin console, we can access Server1 without a problem, but the second time we go the load balancer sends us to Server2, and our browser returns a page not found error. Weve traced the HTTP traffic and discovered that every other time we go to the admin console (the load balancers are configured round robin), Server2 always returns a bogus HTTP found URL. The response it provides is something like https://loadbalancer:*30103*/opensso/UI/Login (just an example).
The issue here is that it is properly directing the end users browser to the load balancer DNS entry. It is not however directing the end users browser to the proper port. It seems to sends its own port value to the browser. Obviously when the browser tries to access this URL the Load Balancer rejects the request because it is not listening on port 30103.
Can Multiple OpenSSO application servers (configured as a site) run from behind a load balancer when they are listening on different ports? If so, why is the application server responding to the user request with its own port, rather than that of the load balancer, yet still providing the DNS hostname entry for the load balancer the whole time.

Major updates of Muse are targeted to release roughly every quarter. The 1.0 release was in mid-May. The 2.0 release was in mid-August. A fundamental change to image loading would only appear as part of a major update due to the engineering and testing efforts required.
As provided in your previous thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/4659347#4659347 the only workaround until then is to reduce the number of images in the slideshow.

Adapter Framework Load Balancing

Hi guys,
I lately read in SAP Doc "Performance Tuning In XI", there it is said that
Adapter Framework uses HTTP Load Balancer for Load balancing (Adapter Framework inbound processing using HTTP load balancing.)..
Can u put some light on the above statement?
Does it mean that the messages going out of Adapter Framework will use Load Balancer or messages coming inside Adapter Framework?

How to configure Load Balancer in front of Web Logic Cluster

hi all,
I installed 2 weblogic servers in cluster and now i want to deploy Hardware Load balancer in front of them, i want to know do i require any configuration on servers or i just deploy hardware Load balancer in front clustered servers with round robin technique.

I think there are two important configuration when you use hardware load balancer in front of WebLogic cluster.
1) Passive Cookie Persistance
You need to configure hardware load balancer so that it can identify Weblogic session cookie for routing request primary server holding HTTP sesstion.
2) External DNS
If there is firewall between hardware load balancer and weblogic cluster and NAT (Network translation ) is used, then you need to configure "External DNS" for each weblogic server in cluster. You need to specify the hostname used by load balancer in "external DNS".

Load Balancing on File Adapter..

Hi Experts!!
We have run into an issue with load balancing on the sender side which can potentially cause one node to go down. We have 3 java server nodes on a single XI instance (ABAP & Java), when we pass about 30 to 50 messages of 10 MB size in a file-2-file scenario where each message is sent to eight different receivers, we have observed that the messages are picked up by only one server node on the sender side. The messages do get load balanced on the receiver side but I am not certain what controls this as we also observed that only one server node is active at a time on receiver side (round-robin). We use ABAP XSLT mapping programs with File content conversion on the receiver side.
We did find that by controlling the rfcengine threads you can load balance the distribution on the mapping service.
Can you please share your experience on how to control/configure load balancing of server nodes on both sender and receiver side in a single XI instance as well as in a cluster with 2 dialog processes.

Configuring RFC connections for load balancing.

We have the following landscape for our systems.
The database is installed on z/os , db2 (mainframe). The central services( SCS and ASCS) are also on the mainframe. So the message server is on mainframe.
The CI is on AIX and The DI is on AIX.
We have Logon groups configured and load balancing Configured and is RFC enabled.
1) When we connect to SAP using the SAPGUI and the portal connection is made to either CI or DI depending upon the best response times. Now recently we are running the mercury load testing, all the users are connecting to DI. Why are the users connecting to DI even though we have load balancing?
2) I have a system with SID BP0, with one CI and one DI. The logon group is BP0 and the message server name is cyrix. Now I have other another system EP0. I have created a RFC connection from EP0 to BP0. In SM59 I have selected the load balancing option, and provide the message server name, SID and logon group name. The connection does not work. If I connect directly to the CI or DI the connection works. Please tell me how can I configure load balancing for RFC connections.

I have read about client side and server side load balancing. By editing tnsnames.ora I have enabled client side load balancing which is suppose to select listeners at random. then why does it only go to second node?Could you please show your tnsnames.ora on client?

Hi,
check out these:
1) SM59 - test connection
2) look all the parameters of Receiver RFC adapter configuration
Proper authentication details etc
3) Save the RFC adapter channel and activate the same
4) Refresh the cache for the Adapter metadata. Go to Integration BuilderAdmin>Cache Overview-->Directory -->Adapter Metadata
5) Probably the problem may be becuase of RFC Adapter is not active. Restarting the RFC adapter at J2EE admin level may solve your problem

ISE 1.2 and load balancing...

I'm looking into configuring load balancing behind F5's. I know this can be done and have read the documentation on what is required. I still have a couple of questions about it:
1. When you load balance the RADIUS traffic do you have to create separate VIP's for the auth and accounting ports (1812 & 1813)?
2. Are there good configuration examples out there for VIP Configs and setting up the VIP's to run in routed mode?
3. Are there any caveats or lessons learned that other people have experienced besides what is documented?

jgroup is how db sync/ replication work in 1.2, which replace the queuing mechnism in 1.1.
but this should not be related to PSN LB? do you mean you want to lb requests between several PSNs?
using F5 or ACE can help, also 1.2 support wildcard certificate will help address the cert warning problem.

WAN Load-Balancing and multi VLAN design

Hello,
I need some help to define the design of a specifi LAN-WAN network.
1) There are 2 independant WAN entries (they have their own ISP-managed router)
2) I need to load-balanced the requests over the 2 WAN
3) If possible, the load-balancer must be redundant (GLBP ?)
4) On the LAN itself, there must be 15 different VLAN
5) We also need a DHCP solution (also redundant if possible) to provide IP to these VLAN, with unique gateway (the load-balancer)
What do I need to implement this configuration ?
And is it possible to configure with as much GUI as possible ?

It is possible to configure load balancing with NAT, however in this case, remote internet servers will potentially see sessions from remote hosts behind the SRP541W coming from different source IP addresses (the WAN IP addresses), causing the sessions to be reset unexpectedly.
The Policy Routing setting you setup is exactly what I would do in your case.

Load balancing on the local host only (6.40 Java)

When configuring load balancing for Web AS 6.20 (Java), the property "LocalLoadBalancing" was available in the ServiceManager of the dispatcher. See Note 772561.
This property is not available in Web AS 6.40 (SP14).
How can I now ensure that a dispatcher does not connect to a server process on another physical server?

Hi Mikael,
In Web AS 6.40 this property is invalidated by the new instance-based cluster concept. In other words, when installing a Web AS 6.40 system you're installing instances (i.e. one central services instance, one java central instance, and 1-n dialog instances). A Web AS 6.40 instance contains one dispatcher and 1-n servers. The installation software (SAPinst) lets you install an instance on the same physical host only. Therefore, in 6.40 all servers that are behind the J2EE dispatcher are always on the same physical machine => the behavior of the LocalLoadBalancing property.
In 6.20, the installable unit is a dispatcher/server, and you can choose to distribute them to different physical hosts => the need to have the LocalLoadBalancing property to control remote/local LB.

Load Balancing on RDS 2012 R2 does not work

Hello,
I'm working on a test deployment with 3 Session Hosts, GW/WA/CB on one server and licensing on another.
GW and CB are also on a Failover cluster so i don't want High Availability now (I want to start with simpler and work out the errors first)
One issue is when I try load balancing option on my Collection's Properties by changing the relative weight of the servers, nothing happens at all. All the sessions are created on a single server (GW/WA/CB) and nothing on the server I want to redirect to.
Any help is appreciated!

Please see that you have added following registry key to the connection broker.

After this you can use “mstsc /admin” to perform remote desktop.
In addition, we can use DNS RR method to configure Load Balancing. Please check below thread for information.
