Af:navigationPane is not rendering buttons

Dear All,
I am using Jdeveloper 11g R2 11.1.2.1.0.
I set the Hint property of af:navigationPane to Button, but at runtime it is rendering the navigation items as bars. Is it the correct behaviour or I am missing some setting.
Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Best Regards
Bilal

  • Developer 11g not rendering buttons proper size

    Forms Developer 11.1.2.1.0 on Linux with X-ming to a Windows 7 workstation.
    In the canvas editor, buttons render as lines in a blue box.  The box is the correct size, but the button doesn't fill the space.  You can't read the button label and therefore can't size it properly.
    How do I get the buttons to render correctly?
    Thanks.
    I would provide an image, but that is disabled.

  • Not rendering create button(solved)

    Dear JHeadstart team,
    I'm on JHeadstart 10.1.3.1.26 and
    Jdeveloper 10.1.3.2.1
    I have a parent Product (key is id) and a child Appeal with foreign key the product_id.
    I'm using a form layout. If checkmarked the Single-row insert allowed property.
    The functionality I would like to have is that if no row is found in the Appeal table(product_id) that the insert row button is rendered and if an Appeal row is found that the insert button is not rendered.
    I also can use a table layout but I don't know of an EL expression which helps me with my situation.
    Some help would be appreciated.
    Also a good EL tutorial/overview would be helpful to me.
    I found this one: http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/B25947_01/appendixb001.htm
    and this one:
    http://developers.sun.com/docs/jscreator/help/2update1/jsp-jsfel/jsf_expression_language_intro.html#syntax
    but they are to theoretical for me.
    thanks in advance,
    Marcel.

    Hi Steven,
    I've tried your suggestion.
    I've put the EL #{!((bindings.RecensieAanvraagIterator.currentRowIndexInRange!=-1 and bindings.RecensieAanvraagIterator.findMode!='true'))} in the 'Insert allowed EL Expression' property. This generates the input button. But when I press the button, the form is completely read-only.
    The functionality i want is that for, the "RecensieAanvraag" table, I can add one row or update this row when the insert is committed. Or update an already existing row from this table. This table has a foreign key ProdId and is the child of Product table in the form layout.
    I've tried a lot of EL possibilities in both the 'Insert allowed EL Expression' and 'update allowed EL Expression' properties but without any luck (I don't have the complete understand for these properties although I've read the JHeadstartDevGuide RELEASE 10.1.3 (october 2006).pdf.).
    May be you can point me in the right direction?
    And perhaps you know of a good tutorial about EL which I don't know of?
    regards,
    Marcel

  • Add Content button not rendered inside Portlets on edit mode

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where administrators will add some external content(Add content) either from taskflow or portlet and that external content (along with taskflow output) will be shown to the users based on some logic performed inside the taskflow/portlet bean code.
    This PanelCustomziable should render AddContent button inside the portlet when pressing ctrl shiftE, but its no doing so? Where as the same PanelCustomizable renders AddContent button inside the taskflow on edit page? Any settings or changes needs to be done to make it work in porlet when consumed in portal?
    a)taskflow cannot be selected for this purpose, as there will be only a single instance of the taskflow across the portal and it cannot retain runtime MDS changes to a specific instance (Unless we design the ADF taskflow with MDS customization layer). By default, any runtime change in one taskflow instance will be propagated to all the other taskflow instances of the portal.
    (For eg.. Admin drops this taskflow onto a page1 and adds a image(external content) using the button AddContent inside the taskflow because of PanelCustomizable and close the page. He drops the same taskflow from RC only to find that the changes he done on page1 is being retained here ..its not resuable because of no MDS per instance)
    So we selected Portlet for this purpose, as it has the inbuilt personalization framework. Admin can personalize each portlet instance and drops on the the same page and diff page again. But with portlets, Add Content is not rendered.
    Its not just external content, the taskflow / porltet has some logic to perform and displays some output based on the ruleId which is the input parameter.
    Taskflow or jsff code

    Hi,
    i am using Workshop 8.1 (GA release july) and i have discovered a bug (ora
    feature) with respect to the beta version.
    i have created a simple portlet with a view mode and an edit mode. When i
    place the portlet on the very first page of a one book portal, it works
    perfectly. However, i have a book with three pages and placed the portleton
    the second page. Now when i put the portlet in edit mode, by clicking the
    edit button, i am directed to the first page of the portal and the portlet
    will not show.
    Inspection learned that the URL generated for the edit button, didn't
    contain the _pagelabel parameter. When i added the parameter manually it
    works fine.
    A final remark is that the buttons in the titlebar have no icons thebrowser
    can load.
    hope someone can help me out,
    Lodewijk

  • Buttons not rendering properly. Looks like 'sideways letter P' inserted in buttons

    I noticed starting yesterday, that the 'Close' buttons and other buttons in Firefox (For Hotmail in particular when you delete messages, a window opens asking if you really want to delete the messages and the 'OK' button has this strange rendering) stopped rendering properly. Also, when you exit the Firefox browser and you get the 3 buttons in the Quit Firefox window: Save and Quit, Quit, Cancel - these buttons no longer render properly. It looks like a strange somewhat askew letter P has been inserted into the left and right ends of the buttons. No software installs outside of Adobe, Java and Microsoft updates have been applied. I have a photo to show them if it would be possible to upload it.

    I do use the Noia 4 Theme Manager 1.8.0 but have done for years and it has only started rendering buttons this way yesterday. Thanks for your potential fix! I appreciate you taking the time to submit that and will look into it when I get the chance. Cheers!

  • JSF Pages are not rendering correctly when  loaded using Non JSF actions

    Hi All,
    This problem is irritating me and I am posting the same query for the third time here.
    When I come from non jsf actions such as page submitting using Javascript, clicking anchor link, clicking normal Html submit button and so on my page is not rendering correctlly .
    In other words, My first GET method/Post method works perfectly for the first time when the page is loaded.
    But when we try to access the page for the second time, although logical work is perfect in bean, I am getting same old page.
    How to resolve this issue?
    or
    Is this Bug of Sun's Implementation of JSF Framework.

  • SSRS report does not rendering properly in sharePoint 2013

    Hi everyone,
    I'm a newbie with the MSBI development tool, I've tried to create a testing SSRS reports and its layout showed correct when preview them in Visual Studio (2010 and 2012). Then I migrated the report in SharePoint 2013, but the layout do not rendering as I
    expected, some data mix-up on the matrix table
    The Ident on detail data (drill down) does not render properly compare the layout in when preview in Chrome or Visual Studio (SSRS)
    The summation on second matrix table went wide on both browsers compare when preview thereport in Visual Studio
    The export PDF (using the "action" button on the report in the browsers) showed the second matrix table is overlaps the first matrix table.
    This report has 3 main queries (2 for the matrix tables and 1 for the chart) on a Dev environment:
    Window server 2008 R2 with service pack 2
    SQL server 2012 enteprise with service pack 2
    SharePoint 2013 (no service pack) with integrated mode on the report service
    Visual Studio 2010 development tools
    I'm very appreciate for anyone can provide any solution to solve this issue.
    Thank you so much,
    Dac.
    P.S.: I attached the preview of the report in both browsers (IE & Chrome) and its preview in Visual Studio.
    An update: ... due to the setting space on"snap to grid" default to 20 and I've made the 2nd matrix table overlaps the 1st one, therefore the it showed overlaps when export to PDF file ... it's solved.
    But the Indent on IE and summation still persist in both browsers.

    Hi everyone,
    The PDF's export has been solved due to the 2nd matrix table overlaps on the 1st table.
    Also, I don't know why the summation (aka Row Total) went wide when data represented on the 2nd matrix table (see previous post on the row named as "Premium over 5000$" on both browser. So I've redesigned the 2nd table as normal table instead of
    matrix table ... and the summation showed correct (it's so weird)
    For the "Indent" issue showed in IE on both drill down of the 1st table and 2nd table which cannot be fixed, and the end user used only IE.
    Could someone can enlighten me please?
    Many thanks.

  • Inserting new row in Table in 11.1.2 from 11.1.1.3 not rendering table!!!!!

    Hey Guys, my status might say noob but i am well seasoned in ADF. We migrated from 11.1.1.3 to the new JDEV 11.1.2. We are doing a test run before we commit to it.
    I noticed the following:
    We have master detail forms that work flawlessly in 11.1.1.3 when we ran the app under 11.1.2 we noticed that any time you try to add a new row to a table the table does not render. The server logs show the action going through and the count goes up one but the table is not rendered anymore it disappears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Now all of this was imported from the 11.1.1.3. all of our tables that have createInsert actions on them are doing this.
    If i drag the tables again and set them up from scratch it seems to work fine. Our issue is we have a good 300 of these tables in different panels and panel collections. we have to do all of that work all over again.
    No errors show in the log. IS THIS A BUG???????????????
    UPDATE: REFRESHING THE PAGE using the Browser Refresh Button Will show the new ROW....... THIS IS NOT GOOOD!!!

    Thanks for the reply.
    The Project was in version 11.1.3 before I migrated. I had the issue above so I migrated to 11.1.1.4 then to 11.1.1.5 then to the New GREAT 11.1.2 to go by the matrix of support The issue is still there.
    Basic Page layout:
    SEARCH-MASTER-PANELTABBED LAYOUT (Hold all the CHILDREN RECORDS)
    PANEL TAB is made of ; SHOW DETAIL ITEM- PANEL COLLECTION- TABLE.
    the panel collection has a toolbar with 2 buttons in it.
    My issue varies:
    Hit create insert==> record count goes up one but the table does not render (it goes all blank even if records existed in it)
    Hit undo budo ==>table still not rendering. (click next on master record then click previous to come back, the table renders correctly.)
    other tables do the following:
    Hit Create insert == > table shows normally and I can enter new record.
    Hit undo ==> table count goes down but table does not render at all anymore.
    for this issue i noticed if i set cache results to false the table works after hitting undo
    IF I CREATE A NEW SHOW DETAIL ITEM and put exactly what the other tabs have in them and use the same layouts and buttons the new table works great!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????? WTF?!?!?!?!
    NO ERROR MESSAGES even at finest level are thrown.
    I HAD NO ISSUES IN THE PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF JDEV IS THIS A JSF 2.0 BUG????
    BY THE WAY JDEV 11.1.2 sometimes CRASHES or Hangs when viewing the Binding of Page when you click on Binding straight from the Design view. I have to open the Binding Page separate to view it. FYI

  • Page is not rendering as per requirement request

    Hi All,
    Basically Here is the scenario.
    Based on selectoin of particular service item from combo box(dropdown list), We are creating the JSF controls dynamically on new page for further process.
    We are maintaining the controls information in database that need to be created dynamically and rendered for each service.
    And I am able to create the controls dynamically and able to place them on page perfectly.
    Until here everything looks ok for me.
    But main problem I have identified is when I go for new request, I am getting the same old page when I select the other service.
    Initially I though this could be a problem of caching and I have placed meta info in order to expire the page. But that was no use.
    So I logged all the data that is coming from database and logged the information where I have created the controls dynamically..
    What I have identified is I am getting the right data on paricular service selection and even I am able to see that methods execution is correct. I was stunned and not able to understand why the JSF is not able to show the controls.
    So I searched the JavaDoc for solution. I though I could use FacesContext.release() method. But that does not help me. Even I tried to clear the parent objects using gridpanel1.getChildren().clear(). Even that does not supported me :(
    In order to understand my problem, here I am pating the code.
    Please help me why the hell my page is not rendering
    Below is code in constructor
    javax.faces.context.ExternalContext ec = context.getExternalContext();
                javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest request=(javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest)ec.getRequest();
                String service=request.getParameter("form1:cmbServices");
                int serviceid=-1;
                if(service!=null) {

    addCheckBox(control);
    //log("Entered here in adding checkbox");
    else if (control.isTextBox()) {

    Hi,
    You can try the following to debug and provide us more details.
    1. I am assuming you are trying to navigate by using a commandLink/Command Button ? If so, is the action handler for the command getting called ?
    2. Do you have input components in the page with Validators/converters attached to them ? If so, you may not watch for validation/conversion errors. If there are errors, the same page will be redisplayed. In that case you would need to associate message component to get more details on what went wrong.
    3. Have you set up the necessary navigation rules to navigate to the right page ?
    4. When you are adding components programatically, its better to assign explicit id's to your components, to avoid any unexpected behavior.
    Hope this helps.

  • JSF - UICommand component not rendering properly

    2:12 PM 7/11/2007
    by Nirav Assar
    Overview
    It was discovered that in certain situations a UICommand component does not bind properly to its associated action method in the managed bean. The symptoms of this situation occur when you have a page with an action, and you click the action and nothing occurs. The page seems like it submits, but no code inside the action method of the managed bean gets executed and no errors are generated in the console!
    Problem
    The problem arises when you have a managed bean in request scope and you have a UICommand, either a commandLink or commandButton, associated to the bean. In addition this UICommand component has a rendered attribute tag (boolean value) that uses a managed bean method to tell it whether is renders or not. Even if the component gets rendered to the screen, the component does not get binded to the action method in the request scoped bean. This is a problem with JSF and may be due to the fact that the component gets rendered, but since the bean is not created until a request is submitted, the component never gets binded to an action. Therefore, nothing in the action method ever gets executed.
    Analysis
    Thus is seems like if you want to dynamically render a submit type component, such as a button or a link, you cannot effectivley do that with a bean in request scope. You'll have to place it session scope, which will work fine. Another option is to render the buttons all the time, but based on some scenario, using the "disabled" attribute to prevent a user from using the action. The "disable" attribute can access a boolean method in the managed bean.
    You could also use Javascript to hide the already rendered button on certain circumstance. However this would require javascript knowing the state of the domain objects/and or managed bean state.

    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5127437&messageID=9461810

    RamondDeCampo hit the nail on the head. If the bean used for the rendered attribute is request scope and the value differs between requests, you're going to see this type of behavior.
    Search the forums, there have been many similar reports as well as suggested solutions.

  • PDF not rendering right in firefox

    I have a PDF file I created on my website and noticed that in FF it is not rendering the images correctly (specifically the background image) The file renders fine in IE and Chrome but not in FF, which produces a lot of odd lines in some images and the background. I have had several people check this for me and they have the same problem, the PDF will just not show correctly in Firefox, even one person that tried it, FF will not show any pictures for her on the PDF. Did not know where to post this, as it is not really a question but an observation.
    Shy

    I am sure this is helpful for those that are computer savvy like myself, but most readers of my PDF newsletter on my site are not. So it will not help them much, heck I spent 10 mins. in chat last night explaining to them what a URL is, most still did not understand. I will pass the info on anyway just in case, telling them this is only a problem if they are a FF user, or that they can use IE or Chrome if they like so it renders correctly.
    Thank you

    Hey Shyannes,
    It is rendering differently because IE uses the Adobe reader plugin to display PDF's and Chrome uses a custom PDF viewer. Firefox also has a custom PDF viewer (different than both IE & Chrome).
    Firefox users can view the PDF using Adobe reader by following these steps:
    #Click on the Download button (the one to the right of the print button).
    # Change it from Save file to Open with: '''Adobe Reader'''
    #Click OK.
    Hope that helps.

  • Some web fonts are not rendered

    When I visit some sites that use web fonts, the web fonts are not rendered. It does not render with the wrong font - the text is completely invisible.
    On other sites, web fonts work just fine, and I cannot understand why some web fonts work and some don't.
    Examples of non-working sites:
    http://blog.mailchimp.com/ (headers shown, article text missing)
    https://www.sbab.se/ (huge top header missing)
    http://onlinepizza.se/ (headers and button texts missing)
    Examples of working sites:
    http://www.google.com/fonts
    http://www.typetester.org/
    On the Network -> Fonts tab in the inspector, no downloads are shown on the broken sites. Is there a font cache that I can delete?
    I have tried uninstalling firefox, deleting all profiles and installing it again. Nothing changes.

    Works fine here on Linux.

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

    Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • JSF tags are not rendered in error page

    I have configured error page for HTTP 404 error in web.xml like this
    <error-page>
    <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>/Common/error.jspx</location>
    </error-page>
    Faces Servlet is configured as follows
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/faces/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    My error page (error.jspx) looks like this
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
    xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:trh="http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad/html"
    xmlns:tr="http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad" xmlns:c="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core">
    <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"/>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Error Page</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/>
    </head>
    <body id="b1">
    <h4 style="color:red">An Error Occured. Please click Back button or Signout.</h4>
    <input type="button" value="Back" onclick="history.back()"/>
    <tr:commandButton id="cb1" text="SIGN OUT" action="exit" actionListener="#{Login.LogOut}"/>
    </body>
    </html>
    </jsp:root>
    When I deploy application and run into 404 error, page displays error message with only Back button. I don't see SingOut button. I have checked url and it follows /faces/* pattern. Still to double check, I made a change and configured servlet mapping in web.xml as
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/faces/*</url-pattern>
    <url-pattern>*.jspx</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    Still commandButton is not rendered. I understand that my error page don't have access to FacesContext or not going through Faces Servlet. I know this is a small issue, but couldn't figure out what can be done. I have also tried using .xhtml and .jsf as per googled suggestion. But no luck
    I have tried different solutions to my problem and googled for solutions. But I couldn't get it resolved.
    So can you please provide any suggestions...

    I think my faces servlet is configured to handle URLs having /faces/* pattern. I don't have any folder named with faces but I can access all my web pages which have /faces/ in their url. All jspx pages in application are configured in task flows. So I think they have access in FacesContext. But error page is configured in only web.xml and some how it is missing access to FacesContext and not rendering JSF tags. Any help?
