All my Safari AutoFill fields now blank

Hi--
I just set up my new system, and brought over both my User--->Library-->Keychains folder, and my Safari folder from my old machine.
I checked using Keychain Access, and sure enough, all my Internet Passwords and Logins are there. But when I check in Safari Prefs-->AutoFill-->User names and Passwords, nothing is in there.
However, "Other Forms" is full of my old stuff.
Anybody?

Well...
Looks like all my Entourage keychains aren't being recognized either.
Also, on my old machine, there are two files in Keychains: Jeffrey and MicrosoftIntermediateCertificates (I assume these are Entourage's).
But the new imac had a file not on my old machine: login.keychain
As well, when setting up the new machine, I gave it a new password rather than use the old one. Now, when I use Keychain Access, it keeps asking me for the old password, and rejecting the new one...
This is alot of passwords people...

click and hold on one cell, then drag to select the range, then release, then type the delete key.  Only inlude cells in the range you do not want to keey the contents of the cell.  You can remove one-off cells by holding the command key and clicking cells to add or remove as needed.

  • All Messages in Apple Mail Now Blank

Hi, I use Apple Mail with my Yahoo email account. Starting today, every I open an email in Apple Mail (including every existing email that I have ever downloaded) gives me an error message, saying that the message was not downloaded from the server and I"need to take this account online in order to download it." Apple Mail is still going online and getting my emails (I can tell because they are marked as "read" on the Yahoo site), but every every email I try to open gives me that message.
I've just spent a half hour online with someone from Yahoo, who says I need to call someone from their Mac department. Maybe tomorrow - a half hour is enough of a commitment for tonight. Anyone experienced this before? Any ideas? I haven't changed any of my settings. Thanks.

Nevermind, the problem fixed itself. I don't know what happened; I think I restarted my computer, and the problem was gone. Nevermind!

The pass 4 days now my iTunes Store is not responding, when I reload it all that comes up is a blank white page that says iTunes Store. Help please!!!! Cannot load my gift card to buy music and such!!!

I tookyour suggestion and SUCCESS!  I can now access the Itunes Store.  A simple fix, and thanks so much!!.
Below is the advice you forwarded:
I found a solution to my problem.
    > start menu
    > accessories,
    > right click on the command prompt icon and choose "run as administrator".
Once it opens, type in the following command...
    netsh winsock reset
    hit enter
You should get a message that the winsock reset successful and you will need to reboot your computer.
Reboot and when I reloaded itunes the store loaded fine.
    Thanks again, -Dean Stoneburner

  • I have almost 1200 contacts in my Outlook, all of which were assigned to a Category, so I could look people up by that Category. Almost 900 of the Category assignments are now blank. Does anyone know how to assign a contact to a group on the iPhone?

I have almost 1200 contacts in my Outlook, all of which were assigned to a Category, so I could look people up by that Category. Almost 900 of the Category assignments are now blank. I am a recent iPhone user. When I had my BlackBerry, you could see or assign the Category in each contact. I don't see that when I go to "edit" in a contact. I don't want to go through all my contacts and reassign the Category, and then have them wiped out again. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    I'm sorry to hear that.
I'm not affiliated w/ the developer, just a happy user that gave up fighting the apple podcast app a while ago.  I used to have a bunch of smart playlists in itunes for my podcasts, and come home every day and pathologically synced my phone as soon as I walked in the door, and again before I walked out the door in the morning.
Since my wife was doing this too, we were fighting over who's turn it was to sync their phone.
Since I've switched to Downcast, I no longer worry about syncing my phone to itunes at all.  I can go weeks between syncs.
Setup a "playlist" in downcast (ex., "Commute") and add podcasts to that playlist.  Add another playlist ("walk" or "workout") and add different podcasts to that one.
Set podcast priorities on a per-feed basis (ex., high priority for some daily news feeds, medium priority for some favorite podcasts, lower priority for other stuff).  Downcast will play the things in the priority you specify, and within that priority, it will play in date order (oldest to newest).
Allegedly, it will also sync your play status to other devices, although that is not a feature I currently use and can't vouch for.  It uses apple's iCloud APIs, so to some extent may be limited by what Apple's APIs can do.

  • Why are the JPEGS on my computer's hard drive all of a sudden now blank?

The JPEGS on my computer's hard drive are now blank (it reads 0kb, and the thumbnail is missing) and when I go to open it in Windows Photo Viewer it gives me an error saying that it doesn't exist. I noticed that this happens to almost all the photos I edited in Lightroom 5. I shot a whole season of football last year, all in JPEG format, and with my keepers I went ahead and edited them in Lightroom and now they're blank. I have never moved my photos anywhere. I shot the game last November, created the folder for that game, and that's it. I go almost a year later to print one of them out for my portfolio and the file is missing! Lightroom can show the photo but I can't make any adjustments in the development module because the file is blank on my computer. The weird part is that the thumbnail is there, the correct image number is there, and when I click to show in Explorer through Lightroom it pulls up the right JPEG, so the location is correct in Lightroom, just no thumbnail image and no full size image when I go to open it using Windows Photo Viewer. I checked other games I shot and it happened to almost every game.

If you have the photos on your camera cards, then obviously you can simply copy them to the appropriate locations.
There are Lightroom plug-ins that can retrieve the preview that Lightroom uses, but these will be smaller and lower in quality than the original. Maybe one of our plug-in experts can suggest the proper plug-in.
If the hard disk is really going bad, as I speculated, you would definitely want to get it replaced. If that is the case, you don't want to keep using it. You might want to run some disk diagnostics on it.

Hi, I'm Puthyrath. I have a problem on my iPad 4 wifi-3G about personal hotspot. I entered apn, username and password correctly, but when I leave this page, it didn't save, all fields become blank. Can anyone help me?

    Update to above question:
    Hello All,
To anyone with the same problem described above, on THEIR iPad (if it is running iOS 7.0.2):
Go to Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; DELETE your *******@btinternet.com e-mail account, that you originally set up either using 'Other', or the 'BT' option which I am sure was in the list previous to the iOS 7 update.
Then ADD a NEW account choosing YAHOO from the list of options. DO NOT USE 'OTHER'.
Enter the correct details just as you (almost certainly) had already done in your previous attempts using 'other'.
When you see the 'verifying......' and 'the blue ticks' you should be able to exit settings and open your mail app and then receive all your 'old' e-mails again, AND be able to SEND as well.
All my 'old' e-mails, were NOT found in the 'old e-mail' folder though. THEY are still in my inbox.
So this fix worked for me.
After I deleted my account from 'OTHER' and put it in Yahoo, I like other people also ended up with more folders.
I hope this works for you on YOUR Apple devices.

  • Safari: Autofill double / duplicate entry?

Anybody else having problems with Autofill?
Just lately (can't recall when exactly but it MAY have been after I started using iCould keychain), as an example, I get to a section of a webform that I may have filled in on a previous occassion and I start to type my tel no.  I type '012...' and Safari offers up '0123456789' but when I click to have it fill it in, Safari does it twice!  So I end up getting 01234567890123456789.  It's a real PITA such that i have to THEN go and delete all the unrequired numbers.  It'd be quicker to disable auto-fill if this is yet another feature that's got screwed up.  I'm contemplating trying a 'clear all' ont the 'Autofill' settings and if that doesn't fix it I'm also contemplating disabling iCloud keychain.  For all the good it's done (which up to now escapes me!) I might as well disable it, considering all the problems that seemed to start as soon it was enabled.
I don't know what it is but these days it seems not a week goes by without something in the 'It just works' ecosystem screwing up, resutling in more hours than I ever spent sorting problems out with Windows!

Well, what I did was to complete the id/password fields manually.
    Then I signed out.
    Then signed back in.
    This time they Autofill'ed automatically.

  • When I open safari I get a blank white screen.

When I open safari I get a blank white screen. When I open top sites, and choose google, the screen is still blank, with the search bar at the top a quarter full. If it does open, it suddenly becomes unresponsive and returns to that blank, white screen. I'v tried everything I can think of, but nothing works.
On a side note, everything from mail to iphoto to word works - just not safari. I'm using a mid-11 iMac 21.5"i5 running on mountain lion.
Also did I post this in the right place? I'm new to this.

    Back up all data.
Quit Safari if it’s running. Then select
     ▹ Force Quit…
from the menu bar. A small window will open with a list of running applications. Safari may appear in that list, even though you quit it. If so, select it and press return. Close the window.
    Step 1
In the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-A to open the Applications folder. Select the Safari icon in that folder and press the key combination command-I to open the Info window. There’s a checkbox in the Info window labeled Open in 32-bit mode. Uncheck it, if checked. Close the Info window and the Applications folder.
If Adobe Flash Player is installed, select
     ▹ System Preferences ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
Hold down the option key and select
    Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Delete the following items from the Library folder (some may not exist):
    Caches/com.apple.Safari
    Caches/com.apple.WebKit.PluginProcess
    Caches/Metadata/Safari
    Preferences/com.apple.WebKit.PluginHost.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.WebKit.PluginProcess.plist
    Saved Application State/com.apple.Safari.savedState
Leave the Library folder open. Try Safari again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder. If you still have problems, continue.
    Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
    open $TMPDIR../C
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Quit Safari again. Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). A folder should open. If there's a subfolder with the name "com.apple.Safari", delete it, even if it's empty. Quit Terminal. Close the folder. Launch Safari and test.
    Step 3
If Safari still doesn’t work right, quit, go back to the Finder and move the following items from the open Library folder to the Desktop (some may not exist):
    Cookies/Cookies.binarycookies
    Internet Plug-Ins
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.LSSharedFileList.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.WebFoundation.plist
    PubSub/Database
    Safari
(Note: you are not moving the Safari application. You’re moving a folder named “Safari.”)
Try again. This time Safari should perform normally, but your settings and bookmarks will be lost. The default set of bookmarks will be restored. Delete them all.
If the issue is still not resolved, quit Safari again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were, overwriting the newer ones that may have been created in their place. You don’t need to replace the files you deleted in step 1. Stop here and post again.
If Safari is now working normally (apart from the lost settings), look inside the “Safari” folder on the Desktop for a file named “Bookmarks.plist”. Select
    File ▹ Import Bookmarks
from the Safari menu bar. Import from that file. Recreate the rest of your Safari settings. You can then delete the items you moved to the Desktop.
Note: This step will remove your Safari Extensions, if any, and their settings. If you choose to restore them, do so one at a time, testing after each step to make sure you haven’t restored the problem.
If you don’t like the results of step 3, you can undo it completely by quitting Safari and restoring the items you moved or deleted in that step from your backup, overwriting any that were created in their place.

  • When I open safari, I get a blank page and the beach ball.

When I open safari, I get a blank page and the beach ball. If I try to go to a website, it will load up to a certain point sometimes—the .com of www.facebook.com for instance—but other times, nothing at all.
I've fixed this once before by deleting some files in the library folder—extensions & preferences I believe—and choosing not to have plug-ins selected, then restarting the whole computer—rather than just safari. It will work fine for a day, or maybe 3 at the most, before I have to repeat the process all over again. I'm sure it's because I usually put plug-ins back on once I get it to work, because you can't really use the internet without using plug-ins. But I'm using Chrome right now, as I do when I'm too lazy or too in a rush to try the whole process of getting safari to work again, and I don't have a single issue with it.
My question is really, what plug-in could cause this to happen repeatedly? It's not like I'm going to websites that may have malware on them. I spend most of my day going to some of the most visited websites on the internet.
Is there a known bug out there, because Java has been overrunning concurrently with this happening. It's CPU % runs around 100. I quit the process, but it doesn't change anything. So, other than the fan turning on, I have not had any popup telling me that safari has crashed, that I'm not connected to the internet, or that something went horribly, horribly wrong. I'm pretty sure Safari things it's running fine, but it's not.
    Thanks in advance.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Copy or drag — do not type — the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.) You can omit the final line ending in “$”.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfix|x)/{print $3}'
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|edu\.mit|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null
Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' 2> /dev/null
Remember, steps 1-5 are all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • Since installing Snow Leopard safari autofill won't work

I have checked the safari autofill preferences and have the top box and bottom box checked (not the middle passwords).
This used to work well as soon as I would enter one letter in a form it would complete it.  Now I must type in everything even in websites I have visited often and recently.
I had the "word won't print or save as" problem but installing the new 1.1 security update fixed that but not this autofill problem.
    What can I do now?

Thanks for the link, but it still doesn't work for me.  It fills in some of the information but refuses to do postcodes & countries and telephone numbers are a bit random.  It still doesn't do email addresses on many sites - even sites I visit every day.  The only thing it gets correct consistently is the first line of my postal address.  I tried deleting the contact, creating a new one and making it me - but it still does exactly the same thing.
I finally gave up and ran Chrome.  Oh the joy of coming back to a site I visited only yesterday and have all the data I entered available at the click of a mouse;  instead of taking minutes to book airport parking it takes seconds!  It's like browsers used to be (and, incidentally, much faster than Safari and correctly renders all the sites I visit).   It's so frustrating that Apple can't make something work that other browsers have been doing for decades.

  • Assignment Field is Blank only on Direct AR/AP Posting Scenario

    HI Experts,
I have an issue regarding Manual Direct Posting on AP/AR FI Transactions. Our Users currently cannot post continuously the FI Documents because the Assignment Field is left Blank and is not automatically populated. We already check some scenarios like the configuration of the Sort Field, the Assignment of the Sort Field to G/L, and they are correctly assigned and configured. We also check that there are no Substitution Exits in tcode GGB4 or GGB1.
However, we tried these G/L accounts on other Document Types and they are continously posted with the automatic determination of the assignment field.
Anyone knows the configuration why the Assignment Field is not automatically filled-up even when sorting field is already assigned to G/L and with the scenario that is not working through direct posting with Document Types "DR" - Customer Invocie and "KR" - Vendor Invoice?
Thank you for all your answers

    Hi jatgutz,
Thanks for the Reply. Yes I have checked and it is likely the case for the Entry of AP/AR in the Accounting Document but during the Document Posting, when we do automatic tax calculation, the G/L Tax Account entry is also not assigned with the "Assignment" value even if the G/L Tax Account is maintained with the Sort Key. That's why an error message appears during simulation saying "Error in Line 003(where Tax Line Entry) - Please check" in the logs. The Document now if saved, becomes Parked.
Last time, the Document normally continues to post even the AR/AP Item's "Assignment field" is blank because the tax entry's "Assignment field" is automatically filled. But now it's not working, both the AR/AP Entry and the Tax Entry's "Assignment field" are blank.
So how do we check if this tax entry field's behavior during automated tax calculation? Is there a configuration for this that deactivated the Automatic "Assignment field" value for Tax Entries during Direct FI Posting?
    Thanks a lot!
    BTW I am a Filipino.Cheers!

  • Help! Safari Autofill stopped working for no reason.

My Safari autofill has suddenly stopped working. It used to be that when a form came up on safari I could start filling it out and hit tab and it would fill in the entire form. Now it looks like it might fill in that line, but if I hit tab it doesn';t even complete the line that is highlighted. I think this started to happen after I did the latest OS X software update -- I am now running 10.4.11. I checked autofill on safari and it seems to have all the appropriate boxes checked. And if I go to the pull down menu and pull down edit and do autofill forms, it will do it. But why won't it do it using tab any more?
    thanks so much,

  • Time Machine Oldest/Latest backup field is blank "--"

    Hello,
In Time Machine under the Oldest and Latest Backup fields all it says is "--". It is also the same in the quickmenu.
It used to work perfectly fine but it now it is blank, when I go into time machine all the dates/backups are there including the one it did today. All it says in the TM prefs and the quickmenu is "--". Any ideas how to fix this?

I was surprised today to find that the next usable backup according to Timemachine is from March.
Other dates show up in Timemachine but are not selectable. They are light-blue and only dark-blue dates are selectable.
The two most recent entries are "today" and "July 20" and the two most recent dark blue entries are "today" and "March 3".
I checked the Timemachine disk and it has a folder for July 20 and all the files are in there (using hard links, I think).
Why would Timemachine not recognise certain folder it had created? What would have happened if I had needed to restore from that point in time?
After leaving Timemachine do whatever it wanted over night, I notice that it has added a few hourly backups (as it should), but that those backups are still not accessible.
In fact the Finder windows behind the Now window are black. And the arrow button brings me back to March 2.
Timemachine showing Now window and unusable recent backups:

Timemachine showing last unusable and first usable backup (March 2):

When I enter Timemachine all the windows behind the Now window turn dark and I cannot select them. On the disk itself all the backups/files/folders seem to be in order.
