APEX 4.2 and POI3.9 on Oracle 11.1.0.7.0

Dear Experts,
Currently we want to export a result set to Excel file in xlsx format. The approach we followed is to use Apache POI3.9 and we couldn't get the java file complied correctly.
I could get the java file complied locally where we have the dependencies loaded correctly.
I have also followed the steps in
https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2216501
but couldn't get it working
The following are the load procedures
loadjava -user ****/**** -resolve -v -force -genmissing log4j-1.2.13.jar
loadjava -user ****/**** -force -resolve junit-3.8.1.jar

loadjava -user ****/**** -force -resolve poi-ooxml-3.9-20121203.jar
After loading the jar file, when i tried to load my java file got the error
ORA-29534: referenced object xxxxx.org/apache/poi/hssf/usermodel/HSSFWorkbook
Has anyone used apache poi 3.9 with oracle DB 11.1.0.7 and APEX 4.2 ?
Is there any other way i can achieve the excel export ?
Thanks in Advance,
Bala

Hello Gagan,
It looks like there is a <bug:7345904> filed on top of 10.2.0.4 however it is applicable for 11.1.0.7 as well. There is a one-off patch available on metalink for 11.1.0.7 for Linux x86-64 platform and Linux x86 (patch 7719143). Go ahead and apply this one-off patch if your platform is Linux x86-64 or Linux x86. If your platform is different then you need to log an SR with Oracle Support Services to get a patch for your platform.
Thanks,

If this helps anyone, I was able to set up a reverse proxy to APEX with Apache running on the reverse proxy server and Oracle HTTP server and APEX 3.2 on the APEX hosting server. I want to post this due to there is no
documentation on this that I can find. Oracle Metalink could not produce any "How To" document either.
On the reverse proxy server in the httpd.conf file:

    Jeff

    Great post Jeff,
With regard to Jquery UI and tabs I've contacted the Apex dev team and received a reply from them.
All the jQueryUI files are included in the APEX 4.0 distribution, but not all jQueryUI components
are loaded by default to avoid a huge initial download. It's not necessary to load your own version of jQueryUI, just load the missing component.
For the "Tabs" you have to add
    <link href="IMAGE_PREFIX#libraries/jquery-ui/1.8/themes/base/jquery.ui.tabs.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <script src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#libraries/jquery-ui/1.8/ui/minified/jquery.ui.tabs.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
to your page template or the header attribute of your page where you want to use it.They did not mention which other Jquery UI widgets were not included so people need to check to see if they get any JS errors Like "$('#tabs').tabs() is not a function" this would suggest that tabs is not being loaded. To included it in you page header directly after #HEAD# you need to place the css and js as stated above.
If you need jquery help just post you queries here or the is some other jquery links that maybe of some use

  • Problem regarding PDF printing in apex 3.1 and 11g database using cocoon

    Hi,
i am configuring pdf printing on apex 3.1 (database 11g on windows XP OS) with cocoon/apache tomcat/fop using steps given in Carl Backstrom blog
    http://carlback.blogspot.com/2007/03/apex-cocoon-pdf-and-more.html
    I am using cocoon 2.2.10 / tomcat 6.0.20 and JDK 1.6
I did everything as was mentioned in Carl's blog and everything configured without any hassle. I even enabled network services for FLOWS_030100 user on database. Even after doing all the steps I'm getting the error
ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified.
I'm confused and don't know what to do next.

    Hi,
By default, the ability to interact with network services is disabled in Oracle Database 11g release 1 (11.1). Therefore, if running Oracle Application Express with Oracle Database 11g release 1 (11.1), use the new DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN package to grant connect privileges to any host for the FLOWS_030100 database user. Failing to grant these privileges results in issues with PDF/report printing, specifically, you will get the following error message:
ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either
the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified.
Follow the steps mentioned in the Oracle Application Express Installation Guide, [Enabling Network Services in Oracle Database11g|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/install.310/e10496/post_inst.htm#BGEJJIHE]. Also refer to the [troubleshooting section|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/install.310/e10496/post_inst.htm#BHAGIHIB] in case you receive an ORA-44416: Invalid ACL error after running the previous script.

  • Export from Apex 3.2 and import to Apex 4.0

I apologize if this has been asked before (and I am sure it has).
We are about to move all our Apex/Oracle apps to a server where Apex 4.0 is installed. Our current Apex version is 3.2. My question is can we export from Apex 3.2 and import in Apex 4.0 and expect everything to work (assuming it all works fine in Apex 3.2 and all Oracle objects were moved properly to the new server , both servers have Oracle 11g).

I am having trouble finding "update application" under any of the utilities.
Also one of my applications gives me the following error when I try to import it from Apex 3.2. to 4.0
    ORA-20001: GET_BLOCK Error. ORA-20001: Execution of the statement was unsuccessful. ORA-02290: check constraint (APEX_040000.WWV_FLOW_WS_RPT_CHART_AGG_CK) violated &lt;pre&gt;begin wwv_flow_api.create_worksheet_rpt( p_id =&amp;gt; 24053127534342788+wwv_flow_api.g_id_offset, p_flow_id=&amp;gt; wwv_flow.g_flow_id, p_page_id=&amp;gt; 60, p_worksheet_id =&amp;gt; 24052412232342516+wwv_flow_api.g_id_offset, p_session_id =&amp;gt; null, p_base_report_id =&amp;gt; null+wwv_flow_api.g_id_offset,
I have no clue how to fix that.

  • Intergrate Apex with R12 , How to Extend Oracle EBS with Oracle Apex

Question out to the experts. I am looking for the easiet way to launch an Apex Application from EBS, we are currently on 12.1.3 (EBS) and 3.2 (Apex, we will be updgrading here shortly). We would like to create a responsibilty in EBS , when click upon it brings up our application and login screen. We are using an LDAP authentacation and will build a custom authorization scheme using the launching responsibility from EBS as the gate keeper.
Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated

Sure , i have a couple of questions
You posted a link to follow but it brings me to several discussion threads. I am using the .pdf by Rod West from Cabot Consulting (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/apex-ebs-wp-cabot-consulting-169064.pdf). To try to set up the ability to launch apex via a responsibilty in R12 specifically 12.1.3. There are a couple of steps that i have questions about.
With the E-Business Suite R12 this is achieved by creating a custom jsp in the $OA_HTML
directory on the server. An example is shown in the LaunchApex.jsp shown in Figure 9. The jsp
assumes that /pls/apex is the APEX DAD and that there is a custom system profile
***** First Question for step below
(APEX_HTTP_SERVER) containing details of the Oracle HTTP Server used by APEX.
?? What type of information are we supposed to setup here? I am assuming this is done under application developer via EBS but not sure what we are suppose to enter?
This is referring to a custom system profile that you need to create using Application Developer responsibility and populate the site level with the HTTP server URL you are using for APEX - see {thread:id=2273624} for an example
    >
    >
The jsp can be compiled using the command shown in Figure 8 (See metalink notes 215268.1 and
    458338.1).
    ******* Second Question
??? The command below in Figure 8 does not work, i get a cannot find ojspCompile.pl error , also the metalink notes enclosed seem to talk about a different issue?
    Figure 8
    export PATH=$PATH:$FND_TOP/patch/115/bin
    ojspCompile.pl compile -s 'LaunchApex.jsp ' retr
I believe this is a typo - there is a space between "jsp" the single end-quote, which should not be present. Try the command without the space.
    >
In the end all I am trying to do initially is get apex to launch via an EBS responsibility (NO SSO initially) , i had this working in 11i but not with r12 i have having some difficulties. Apex is running and working on the db , so we know the application is viable , just trying to work on a different launching mechanism
Thanks again for taking out the time.. Hopefully with your help we can get this up and running

  • Does Apex 4.1 / 4.2 supports Oracle BI PublisherDesktop version 11.1.1.6 ?

    Hi Apex Experts,
Does Apex 4.2 release (apex.oraclecorp.com) is compatible with Oracle BI PublisherDesktop to version :11.1.1.6 ?
Old version of Oracle BI PublisherDesktop (it was 10.some thing) was working fine till last week, but currently its showing a macro settings error after a recent windows security update and this issue was not solvable with removal of *.EXD files, which was discussed in some BI forums.
Could anybody points me which is the exact Oracle BI PublisherDesktop publisher, is recommended with Apex 4.2 ?
Related Thread : apex.oraclecorp.com RTF Report Layout Word Plug-in report is blank
    Thanks!

    Hi,
As far as I know, the version of BI Publisher on apex servers is 10.1.3.4. So if you are using BI Publisher 11g desktop to create the report templates, make sure that you check the "Backward Compatible" option in BI Publisher -> Options -> Build.

  • Best Practice to fetch SQL Server data and Insert into Oracle Tables

    Hello,
I want to read sqlserver data everry half an hour and write into oracle tables ( in two different databases). What is the best practice for doing this?
We do not have any database dblinks from oracle to sqlserver and vice versa.
    Any help is highly appreciable?
    Thanks

    Well, that's easy:
use a TimerTask to do the following every half an hour:
    - open a connection to sql server
    - open two connections to the oracle databases
    - for each row you read from the sql server, do the inserts into the oracle databases
    - commit
    - close all connections

  • Difference between upgrdae and migration about oracle database

Difference between upgrdae and migration about oracle database
    please give the comments

Well, the question is almost philosophic...<br>
In 9i, there is a Migration Guide whereas in 10g there is a Upgrade Guide.<br>
Furthermore, in 9i, there is the command line startup migrate whereas in 10g that's startup upgrade.
Somebody think upgrade when go to new release, and migration when go to new version.<br>
Others think upgrade when new version replace database in place, and migration when new version include a move of database.<br>
Another point of view is : upgrade is for technical, and migration for application/data.<br>
    <br>
Well, after these explanations, your upgrade/migratation notion will not be more clear, but I think that is not very important, only a terminology game. The most important is to know what you need : new version or new release.<br>

AFAIK and not being a C programmer myself, isn't null CHR(0) in C? I'm not sure the two concepts (SQL null and C null) have anything in common.

  • Migration MS ACCESS FORMS and Reports to Oracle (Java or Forms or Reports)

    Hello ,
can someone tell me, how i can migrate a whole MS ACCESS 2000 mdb (with forms and Reports) to Oracle.
I think i have first migrate the Access DB with the OMWB to Oracle and in the next Step to convert the VBA Code to JAVA or Forms9i.
BUT Is there a tool available for Migrating VBA code like the OMWB ????

I don't know if this is an obvious question, but do you have MS Access 2k installed on the machine you are trying to run this from? I'm assuming yes.
If you do and there is still a problem, you should log a ticket for support who will take your mdb and help out with the issue for you.
    Many thanks

  • Install and uninstall of Oracle 11g R2 on Windows 2008 Server

    Hi,
I installed Oracle 11g R2 and set up a database on Windows 2008 Server following the steps in the Installation Guide and it was successful. After uninstalling the product and doing a re-install, the step to configure the Net Configuration Assistant fails with the following msg.
Failed to allocate port(s) in the specified range(s) for the following process(es): JMS
    [5540-5559], RMI [5520-5539], Database Control [5500-5519], EM Agent [3938] | [1830-1849]
Also, when I ran "netca.bat" and tried to reconfigure the Listener, it indicated the default port 1521 is being used. I ran "netstat -an" and do not see the port listed.
    Questions:
What is the best way to check if something was leftover from my previous install of Oracle that is using the default ports?
What do I need to do to ensure a re-install is successful?
    Uninstalling Oracle -
    1.     Log in as the Administrator.
    2.     Stop all Oracle Services.
    3.     From a cmd window, run C:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\deinstall\deinstall.bat.
    4.     Delete the C:\app\oracle directory.
    5.     Remove the following registry entries as per http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/relnotes.112/e16777/toc.htm:
    HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application\Oracle Services for MTS

    HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application\Oracle.VSSWriter.<SID>
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Oracle11

Johan, after I uninstalled Oracle, I checked to ensure there were no remaining Oracle services remaining.
Srini, below are the steps I followed to uninstall Oracle. In step 3, I just ran deinstall.bat without any parameters and provided required information as prompted. Note, I uninstalled using the Administrator user and not the "oracle" account that I used to install Oracle.
    Uninstalling Oracle -
    1. Log in as the Administrator.
    2. Stop all Oracle Services.
    3. From a cmd window, run C:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\deinstall\deinstall.bat.
    4. Delete the C:\app\oracle directory.
    5. Remove the following registry entries as per http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/relnotes.112/e16777/toc.htm:
    HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application\Oracle Services for MTS
    HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application\OracleDBConsole<SID>
    HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application\Oracle.<SID>
    HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application\Oracle.VSSWriter.<SID>
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Oracle11
