Hi,
ASM has problem communicating with the listener.
Most likely a firewall issue or port conflict.
Maybe disable iptables, and try again.
Oh: And btw use 11.2.0.2 or 11.2.0.3 from support. They are fully installable and fix some issues which 11.2.0.1 had...
Regards
Sebastian

Did you configured and activated Oracle Restart?
If not... To activate it follow this tasks:
Run the roothas.pl script from Grid_home as root user using the following syntax:
Grid_home/perl/bin/perl -I Grid_home/perl/lib -I Grid_home/crs/install Grid_home/crs/install/roothas.pl
## For example, if your Oracle Grid Infrastructure home is /app/11.2.0/grid, then run the following script:
$ /app/11.2.0/grid/perl/bin/perl -I /app/11.2.0/grid/perl/lib -I /app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install /app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install/roothas.plhttp://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24321/oraclerestart.htm

• ATG+ CRS Error in ATGPublishing server, access not allowed to BCC

Hi,
After the installation of ATG 10.0.3 and Commerce Reference Store on Weblogic, using CIM, I started both ATGProduction and ATGPublishing without trouble. I can access the store (http://localhost:7003/crs/storeus) and dynamo administration console (http://localhost:7003/atg/dyn) but when I try to access BCC (http://localhost:7005/atg/bcc) the web browser shows an error (page can´t be displayed). I have copied the error that appears in the log ATGPublishing.log
I would be very grateful if someone could solve this issue. Thanks in advance

• Error list to monitor the ORA,TNS,CRS errors

Hi All,
Greetings ...
Can you list down what are the critical errors we need to monitor in the alert log file,listener log,CRS and ASM alert log files.
Here we need to implement the errors list to the monitoring tool. I am having few errors list.
Listener
tns-12560,tns-12535,tns-12541,tns-12545
ASM
ORA-12157 TNS:internal network communication error
ORA-15082 ASM failed to communicate with database instance
ORA-15096 lost disk write detected
ORA-01243 system tablespace file suffered media failure
ora-4030,4031,7445,0600
Regards,
Prasanna.

Hi;
There are may errors avaliable in oracle database.You could type one sh and can monitor your alert.log by checkin ORA* errors.
I suggest monitor ORA-600 or ORA-7445 errors in your alert.log which is i belive most critical errors
Regard
Helios

• CRS error

Hi Experts,
I'm trying to install 10g CRS - RAC on Sun solaris. I ran the cluvfy so i don't miss any pre-requisite.
On installing the CRS i'm getting error on 3rd screen(which is after the Product-Specific Prerequisite Checks on OUI).
The error pops up on the Specify Cluster Configuration screen
*"The virtual hostname(s), abc1-vip,abc2-vip, you have specified appears to be already assigned to another system on the network. Please ensure that the virtual hostname(s) that you use for each of the nodes in the cluster are not in use currently."*
I can't proceed with my installation after this error. I have checked my /etc/hosts file and ifconfig -a ( they seem Fine).
Kindly i appreciate if you can help me in fixing / troubleshooting this error.
Thanks in Advance,
~Pointer~

Hello Pointer,
I Got the same error when I did the install. Did the following as a worked around
1. Brought the VIP interface down using (ifconfig ... down command)
2. Use the OUI to install the software
3. When OUI prompts to run the root.sh command, run the root.sh command and then run vipca to configure your virtual interface from a different screen.
4. When this is done continue with the OUI installation.
Not sure if this is the right way but worked for me. Let me know how you got along.
Thanks and regards
Rajesh

I had this same error last week and found that I just needed to add a course description to the .crs file. Here's what I did:
- Opened the .crs file in WordPad or NotePad
- Found the spot in the .crs file were it said [Course Description]
- Typed the name of the course after this field.
It seemed to do the trick. I'm still not able to get the AICC package to play correctly or record the score, but it loads to our LMS without the CRS error, at least.

• How to monitor RAC services and nodeapps in Grid Control

Hi,
I have created a number of RAC service names such as GL on a 2-node RAC and would like to use Grid control 10.2.0.2 to monitor the availability of those services and nodeapps. I was not able to find anything in Grid Control that would allow me to configure that. What are being monitored now are the listeners, database instances and nodes. Would it be possible to monitor more than just the RAC listeners, instances and nodes?
thanks.

I don´t think that there is an out-of-the-box metric. However, CRS monitors your services and Grid Control monitors CRS errors. If you need more granular monitoring, I have 2 suggestions:
1) user callouts:
[http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/rac.111/b28254/hafeats.htm#RACAD7133]
2) extending oracle enterprise manager
I have written a paper on how to extend oem at [http://www.ora-solutions.net/web/papers/]
"Extending Oracle Enterprise Manager to collect HP-UX glance data"
You can follow the instructions to build a new target type called "RAC_SERVICE" and add your serivces as targets, e.g. S_BATCH, S_ONLINE, S_HR.
Best regards,

• Error while initializing Endeca app (CRS installation)

This is an Endeca service that is typically running on port 8888. You should be able to check the Services control panel in Windows or top/ps/netstat in Linux to confirm.

I tried reinstalling again and it worked on Vmware Server.Some oracle products are certified on Oracle VM , but not RAC at the moment.
You can download Oracle VM from otn.oracle.com
Check ML Note:464754.1 for details about Certified Software on Oracle VM.

I do not have much experience in creating cartridges and get data from inputs on XM, but I believe you have to fix your xml and run a set_template again.
Like This:
<Property name="welcomeMessage">
<String>MyCustomMessage</String>
</Property>
In your Java alter this line helloWorldItem.setWelcomeMessage...
to
public HelloWorldContentItem process(ContentItem pCartridgeConfig) throws CartridgeHandlerException {
HelloWorldContentItem helloWorldItem = new HelloWorldContentItem(pCartridgeConfig);
if (helloWorldItem.getWelcomeMessage() != null)
helloWorldItem.setWelcomeMessage(helloWorldItem.getWelcomeMessage());
return helloWorldItem;
Maybe works =].
But this is the idea.

Are you using raw disk devices for Oracle 11g RAC? You might want to move to ASM. For starters, your version, 11.1 is no longer fully supported by Oracle Corp. You'll need to be on 11.2.0.3 or higher to be supported. The 11.2.0.3 version loses Extended Support in August I think. The 11.2.0.4 version loses Extended Support in January. All of this means your production Oracle RAC database should be on the 12c version by January. And guess what? Oracle 12c RAC does not support raw disk devices.
Since you're starting with this cluster fresh, why not aim for a configuration that will allow you to go forth into the foreseeable future without major configuration changes?
Cheers,
Brian
