Aumming fields based on other fields

I have an inventory database with a quantity on hand field. This field holds information pertaining to each store's location and the warehouse. The inventory application will show quantity on hand throught the organization, but it is a calculated field so I can't just drop it in my report. So, I am trying to figure out how to create a formula to add up the quantity on hand at the store locations selected for the report. So, if I select Stores 1, 2, 3, and the stores have 5, 10, and 15 widgets respectively, I would like to show quantity on hand of 30. To make things even more complicated, I would like to add in my warehouse to quantity on hand or put in a seperate field on the report.

There are a whole host of ways to handle this...
The most straight forward is to return all of the records from the database, use record selection to select only those stores desired, then using the SUM() function to add them up (after grouping by part number).
If the warehouse is treated like another store (like it is in our systems), then nothing special needs to be done. Otherwise, you'd have to do something similar for the warehouse quantities, pulling them from where ever they reside.

I have got source xml with couple of Vendors, Vendors has got promotions on different products with different dates. If I sort date field, product quantity is not sorting. How Can I sort both fields at the same time, if I sort Promotion date field in ascending order, the product quanitity has to sort respectively?

the above D02_ZA tag sometimes comes more than one QD with different dates. Same dates has to go under one tag with respective quantities!! This is the situation, can any solve this please?
The target tag "ProductDemandInfluencingEventNotification" will generate based on number of promotions on particular date. Ex: if one vendor has 'n' number products promotions on 3 different dates, 3 "ProductDemandinfluenceevennotifications" has to generate, that three promotion dates and quantities has to respectively.
That ZA02 (Qty) value has to go Quantity target field.

One method to achieve this functionality would be :
1. Find out the maintenance screen and function group of the table maintenance generator say 0001 and Z03_PRO_FN. ( u can find out by going into tables - > utilities -> tmg - to find Function group. for screen number- from TMG ->utilites->modifications->maintanence screen -> note the screen number).
2. Go to SE80 and open Z03_PRO_FN screen number 0001.
3. For field 1 - create a module in Process on Value Request Event in PAI of the maintenance screen ( Similar to any module pool program)
call the FM F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST( In Process on Value request event of field 1 in PAI)
4. Use FM DYNP_VALUES_Update to read the value of field 1 on the screen ( Because this is before enter is pressed and field 1 on the module pool porogram would not be populated with value ) and update the field 2.

Changing a field based on another field

hi one and all
i am looking for a way to change a field based on another field. if i have item 2 and item 8 on the page and item 8 needs to be required based on item 2 based on a requirement, how would this be done.
ex if item 2 has a PO inputed, when it is moved off the field, item 8 should be changed from required false to required true. i have tried in both the process request and process form request with no luck
any suggestions.

How to diable only one field enabled and other fields disabled for one user group?

Hi,
I have a form contains many fields. A group of users can add items using that form.
As per the user requirement I have created a filtered view and that filtered view can be seen by some other sharepoint user group but as per their further requirement the new sharepoint user group is only allowed to update Remarks field. All other fields
should be disabled for them.
In my idea, I have to create multiple forms and in one of it except Remarks field all should be disabled but I am unable to assign multiple forms to a single list.
Or how to make Remarks field enable to this user group and for other admin user group all fields could be enabled.
Hope I have expressed my question correctly.
Any solution would be appreciated.

You can use -
MOVE-CORRESPONDING <struct1> to <struc2>.
In this case it will move the contents of the components from struct1 to struct2 that has identical names.

Infopackage Abap Routine (Selection based on other fields?)

I know that Abap routine is used in infopackage to select or restrict using complex data selection.
My requirement is to restrict Material no field based on 4 other fields. Is that possible?
Actual condition is to load Material no only if other 4 fields combination is new.

Yes you can do this at infoPackage level using the ABAP routine.
First read the Active Table of the DSO into internal table and do a lookup for the required four fields combination.
If these four field are new allow the material number.

Populate field based on other lookup field in form

In a list item in Infopath, I have a field which looks up a location. You can select the location in a dropdown list.
I want to fill another field with the manager name of the selected location. That manager name is a field in the other form also. In a Sharepoint workflow you can do such a thing (look for a specific list item in another list, based on a selected field in
that list).
To summarize: if I fill the location field with info from another list, I want to automatically fill another field with the manager of that location - which is also in that other list.

Open the list which contains the look up field using InfoPath.
Create a Data Connections from SharePoint list: Click From SharePoint List control under tag DATA -> Input your site URL in the Data Connection Wizard page -> Select the original
list -> Select Location and Manager field -> Enter a name for this data connection(such as Test) -> Finish.
Create a Rule for Location look up field :
Condition: LocationLookUp is not blank
Rule type: Action
Run these actions: Add “Set a field’s value”

Fill DDL based on other field values in offline interactive adobe form

Hi Soumya,
It is possible but a little bit tough and will make your form heavier.
The solution is advisable only when there is not very much data required for the drop down(May be not more than 500 values as it will create performance issue).
You can create a hidden table on the form contaning data for all the combinations. Depending on the selection of another 3 fields you can write the code to select only those values from this hidden table which are applicable to that selection. These values you can add to the drop down list removing the previous values.
Only you have to do is on calculate or vlaidate event of target DDL you have to write your code.
Pseudocode:
1. Clear your DDL using deleteItem() method.
2. Loop at your hidden table.
3. Inside the loop check for applicable entries depending on selection in other 3 fields.
4. Select the appropriate vlaues
5. Add using additem method().
Refer formCalc or JavaScript help for the appropriate code.

Auto population of data to fields based on other input field.

In overview screen, I have one input field "Business Partner" which contain search help. As soon as business partner selected from dropdown, the other input fields like Name, Address, City, state should automatically populated without hit of 'ENTER' key.
I verified with method DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT, but it is triggering only by hitting ENTER key. Is there any event or method which will trigger after business partner selected from dropdown? or any other option to achieve to auto populate the fields.

In UDM_COLL_GRPT, collection profilr name is not a primary key. Please let me know how to do this.

Assigning Values to a Field Depending on Other Field

Hi,
I'm creating a survey that is used to capture data on a yearly basis. We are attempting to make the survey as self-validating as possible to minimize workload. One section of the survey asks for a yearly change in the number of people in a program, asking for both the number of people entering the program and the number leaving the program. We need this section to self validate by checking that the number of people in the program at the beginning of the year, plus the number added to it, minus the number leaving it, equals the number of people in the program at the end of the year.
The validation formula for this is easy. The difficult problem is automatically assigning a value to the beginning of year value. We will know what this value is due to collecting a response from the program the previous year. My plan is for this field to self-fill depending on an earlier response to the selection of the program name.
Suppose there is a question earlier in the survey asking for the program name, I'll call it ProgramName. This is a drop down list that must be selected from a list. I need the export value of the drop down list to be the program name they selected. My plan is that for the field later in the survey to fill like this:

Unforunately I am very new to writing JavaScript and don't know the syntext to get this result. Any help would be appreciated!

What you're proposing is a custom calucalte script for the beginning of year value field that gets set based on the dropdown selection. I'd suggest setting the field value in the validate event of the drop down instead, in which case the code would look like:
// Set the beginning of year field value based on this field's selection
// initialize variable
var begin_num = 0;
switch (event.value) {
case "Program1":
    begin_num = "1";
    break;
case "Program2":
    begin_num = "2";
    break;
case "Program3":
    begin_num = "3";
    break;
// Set be beginning number field value
getField("begin_num").value = begin_num;
Where "begin_num" is the name of the field that will contain the beginning number.
