Hmm, if this was the first and last occourance of this message its probably safe to ignore it. If you have had it many times its about time that you start trouble shooting your SCSI chain; checking the cables, if possible move the disks to another controller/box etc.
The message basicly tells you that the system tried to communicate with the disks, but for some reason the command it sent to the disks was aborted.

  • Formatting Failed:  Compiler File Error

    Hello...
Yesterday I got my crossgrade disks from Apple, so I upgraded my G4 Powerbook with the full Studio Pro upgrade, then made sure I had all current patches.
When I opened up one of my DVD Studio Pro projects and clicked Burn, It failed with a dailog box that said "Formatting failed, Building was not successful, See log" so I looked at the log and it said in red "Compiler File Error"
This project worked fine before I upgraded... So, for grins, I started from scratch and rebuilt the project and reimported the assets. Now I had just recompressed the video/audio with the new compressor as well... Anyway, same result. Also, when it fails, the OS-X window pops up that you normally get once you insert a blank DVD and you can choose an app or hit ignore.
Can't figure this out... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Dave
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Once I upgraded, I recompressed the video (its about 14 min, and uses Dolby, not AIFF)... When I opened DVD Studio Pro, it prompted me that assets had changed, I said ok, then tried to burn and go the error. I then tried deleting the PAR folder, no help. So, I just closed the project, hit NEW and recreated the project (it was rather simple) and then tried to burn... Same error.
I burned this same DVD two days ago under the old pre-universal version and it worked fine. I only recompressed because I heard that the new version performed much better.
Sorta lost on this one... I don't see any reason why it shouldnt work. The log only says the one line and gives no other help.

  • AIR 3.8, iOS Packaging Failed: "Compilation failed while executing : ld64"

Since upgrading to AIR 3.8, we can no longer package our AIR Application.
We are getting the following error:
    internal_package-ios:
[exec] ld: -pie can only be used when targeting iOS 4.2 or later
[exec] Compilation failed while executing : ld64
    Screenshot Here: http://cl.ly/image/3h2U1g271n1J
Reverting to AIR 3.7 fixes the issue... but we need 3.8 as we need the 4096 texture support that comes with BASELINE_EXTENDED profile.
From googling, this seems like it's related to the iOS SDK included with AIR, but the issue was fixed in AIR 3.7. Seems it has been regressed...

    Hi Shawn,
Since AIR 3.8, we support only PIE enabled binaries, as per Apple recommendation.
For this, the minimum supported iOS version is 4.2. The ANE you are using specifies a minimum iOS version of 4.0 in its platform-iphone.xml, present at: https://github.com/alebianco/ANE-Google-Analytics/blob/master/build/platform-iphone.xml
You will need to change the line:
    <option>-ios_version_min 4.0</option>
    to:
    <option>-ios_version_min 4.2</option>
and rebuild the ANE to make it work.

  • JSP compiler obfuscates generated servlet debug line numbers

Here's something that's been baffling me for a couple of days now.
When WebLogic parses a JSP into servlet Java source, and then compiles the Java
source into a class, it seems to perform a further step to obfuscate debug line
numbers in the _jspService method. This converts the debug line numbers from Java
source code line numbers into JSP line numbers.
At first sight, this may appear to be useful- it means that when an exception
is thrown then it references a line number in the original JSP rather than one
in the generated servlet. However, it actually makes life more difficult when
              you consider included JSPs.
Suppose you have a file loginresult.jsp, which uses @include to include a header.jsp
and footer.jsp, both of which contain dynamic content. When WebLogic converts
line numbers, it ignores the JSP that the code came from, so this causes a many-to-one
mapping of line numbers. When an error occurs, the exception will tell you the
line number that it came from, but it won't tell you which JSP caused it. The
many-to-one mapping ensures a loss of information- and no way of retrieving the
              real line numbers.
This is an even bigger nuisance when trying to debug JSPs- the debugger hops around
in the generated servlet file without giving any clue as to whereabouts it really
              is in the code.
My question is: is there any way of switching off this post-processor behaviour?
One obvious way would be to locate the WebLogic class that does this post-processing,
stub it out and run WebLogic with this class higher up in the classpath. But that's
              a last resort.
Secondly, would there be any other impact in turning off this behaviour? Do other
parts of WebLogic rely on this?
              Thanks in advance,
              Kevin.

Actually, this option turns line-number table replacement on and off, for example,
              with jsp like this:
              test.jsp

  • C++ compiler aborting

    I just installed WS6U2.
I have a simple program. When I build, I get:
"SunWS_cache: Error: Error occurred in invoked compiler, terminated with signal 4(2). Aborting..."
It seems to be during the link phase.
Even running dmake on the WS generated makefile outside of WS results in the same error.
I have tried deleting the cache directory and building from scratch.
    ideas??

  • New-PSdrive fails in script, works at command line

If I RDP to ServerA (2008R2) as userB (Domain User) and open a PS (2.0) command window, I can successfully run:
    New-PSdrive -Name "X" -PSProvider FileSystem -Root "\\MYSERVER\MyShare"
But if I RDP to ServerA and launch c:\scripts\myscript.ps1 from a PS window (myscript contains the same line of code), drive X: is not mapped!
Does the script run under different permissions?  Permissions on folder c:\Scripts are wide open: Everyone = Full Control.  The Scripts folder needs to reside in a location where all users can access it.
How do I get New-PSdrive to work in myscript?
    thx

Thanks for the reply.  I will explore help for get-executionpolicy.
As for the rest of the script, it's only that line for mapping a drive and then calling Robocopy.
Below are results of a test I ran.  If I map the drive first, the script runs fine.  But if I delete the mapped drive, I cannot get New-PSdrive to remap it... at least not in the script.  If I run the command in a PS window, as mentioned before,
    New-PSdrive works fine.

  • [SOLVED]mplayer2-git fails compiling

    Hey guys,
since some time i failed to update my mplayer2 cause the compile failes. Currently i have installed `harfbuzz 20110919-1` and `libass-git 20110918-1`, but mplayer2 uses its own libass. When compiling withut any changes, it hangs on ass_shaper.c:580, cause the harfbuzz function hb_language_from_string takes not 2 parameters, not one. I fixed this by changing 'hb_language_from_string(code);' to 'hb_language_from_string(code, strlen(code));'. But now it fails with some linking stuff, here the output:

i tried to include the hb.h from my include-directory inside the ass-shaper.c, but it neither work as to copy the harfbuzz-dir from /usr/include to the include-dir in the mplayer2-build-dir. Obviously mplayer2 uses another source than libass-git, cause it compiles without any problems. Anyone can give me some advise how to fix this thing?

It seems newer libass-git depends on a newer harfbuzz than the libass in mplayer2 can work with. What's more, the libass in mplayer2 doesn't need harfbuzz to function, but the git version does (from what my gentoo system dependencies tell me). I just came across, and fixed (got around) the problem by downgrading libass to a version that doesn't pull in harfbuzz (this was on gentoo). Then the mplayer2 libass never picked up harfbuzz and disabled its functionality.
A better solution would be to pass --disable-harfbuzz to the libass configure script in mplayer2, then you will not get the compile error. Edit the file script/libass-config, here is a diff.

Hopefully that all works for you. I should report this to the mplayer2 bug tracker (or libass, as it must not do version checking correctly).
