BizTalk 2013R2 Developer Edition from Gallery - SQL Expired!!

I an a MSDN ultimate subscription holder and I have created a virtual machines within Azure from the Gallery.  I have select the BizTalk 2013R2 Developer Edition from the gallery which has initially been great and save me a lot of time with
the setup.  Unfortunately after only a couple of weeks my SQL license has expired.
As I did not select any form of evaluation edition I would not expect software licenses to expire when they are provisioned from the gallery whenever.  As I understand it as an MSDN ultimate customer I am covered to license BizTalk Developer Edition
and indeed SQL which come as part of the gallery VM.
I've seen a number of posts online around this with no solution and I was wondering if you have a view on this.
Have I picked up the wrong understanding or is their a defect with the BizTalk 2013R2 Developer edition gallery image.  A colleague recently reported the same thing happened with BizTalk 2013R2 standard edition image.
Any help and advice would be appreciate as I am stuck if SQL has expired.  I don't see the point in provisioning a new gallery image if the same problem will happen.
It is very convenient provisioning from the gallery but if the licenses expire then they become less useful and very annoying.  I could understand if I provisioned an evaluation copy but this was not the case here.
Cheers
Stephen

I have had no timely response from Microsoft on this yet, despite trying my best to seek assistance from them to help fix their defect.
Anyway I did a fresh search online and came accross this which has worked for me
https://www.phidiax.com/blog/post/Azure-Gallery-Image-for-BizTalk-Server-SQL-Server-evaluation-period-has-expired
If you have access to a valid copy of SQL Server 2014 Developer Edition then you can perform an Edition Upgrade and go from SQL 2014 Enterprise Evaluation Edition to SQL 2014 Developer Edition.  Once I did this and restarted SQL Services I was
back up and running.
I suspect Microsoft will need to do this with the base gallery image and then re-load it whenever they can be bothered getting around to it OR whenever a customer with an Azure technical support contract raises it!  No pay, no technical support outside
this forum.
I have not tried again to fire up a new 2013R2 Developer Edition image from the gallery to see if this is fixed yet.
Hopefully this helps anyone in the same boat as me.  If you do not have access to SQL Server 2014 Developer Edition (via say msdn subscription) to perform this upgrade then I'm afraid you will still have difficulty resolving this.

  • Biztalk Server Developer Edition Image in Azure

    Hi,
All of my Biztalk 2013R2 machines (based on the Developer Edition image) has stopped working. SQL Server Evaluation period expired. What can I do to fix this? Apart from buying SQL Server.. ;)
This also occurs on a fresh virtual machine created today.

    Hi There,
I was wondering if there has been update to this. Its been over a week and I can't find any solutions to this?
Also I realised as an msdn ultimate customer I still can't actually raise an Azure Technical support call and have to rely on the forums unless I pay more for Azure support.  Very frustrating.  3 people in my organisation are impacted by this on
a brand new Azure based project and it is a little concerning.
The gallery image seemed the best thing since as I understand it, msdn ultimate covers our licensing of the Developer editions.  Had I known the SQL would have expired even though I can legally license it with my msdn subscription I would never had
gone down this route and would have started with the base OS image and installed the software on top of this.
Any advice here would be very much appreciated.
    Cheers

    Oracle HTTP server w/ mod_plsql
Hello! I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this post, if not please direct me to the more appropriate forum...
I have a need to create a webservice for packaged procs in our database. The purpose is to allow other systems to be able to utilize this webservice in order to pass information to our Oracle APEX application. I have attempted to follow the example provided in the following link:
    http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/jdev/obe1013jdev/10131/wsfromplsqlpackage/devwsfrom%20plsql.htm
However, being new to webservices, I'm having trouble understanding what needs to be done in order to publish the webservice. I'm not sure what steps our DBA needs to perform in order to install and configure OC4J. Any suggestions or references on how to get started with this?
Your help and guidance is appreciated!
    -- Chirayu

You need to have an instance of OC4J running on a server. Then you can deploy to it directly from insider JDeveloper.
A basic how-to that show deployment with 10.1.3 is here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/testcontent/deployment-100609.html
The Oracle Application Server documentation library will have instructions about installing OC4J on the server and configuring it.

  • BizTalk 2013r2 SQL Adapter 64bit?

I have recently configured a new server for BizTalk 2013r2 Standard Edition and ESB Toolkit.
On my first check to test routing to the ESB Exception Db was working ok, the following error was raised from Microsoft.Practices.ESB, All.Exceptions:
"The send adapter for this send port is not supported on 64-bit host instances. Please make sure that the send adapter is associated with a 32-bit only handler. "
I have the All.Exceptions send port configured to run under a host I've called "SendHost" which is configured to 64bit. I know previous versions of the SQL adapter were 32bit only but I thought this had been upgraded since BizTalk 2010, or possibly
    even before.
Maybe the fact that I'm using Standard edition is significant? Any suggestions welcome.
    Thanks,
    Rob.

No, the legacy SQL Adapter is only supported in 32-bit Host Instances.  That has never changed, nor is is likely to.
All editions of BizTalk Server 2013 R2 support 64bit processes on 64bit Windows.
You have to create a 32bit Send Host for the legacy SQL Adapter.

  • Upgrade from SQL server developer 2008 R2 to SQL Server developer 2012

    Hi,
We have bought 5 licenses of SQL server developer 2012.
This licenses provided us an option to use SQL server 2008 R2. And we have been using 2008 R2 till now.
But now we want to upgrade to SQL server developer 2012 edition
I want to know the process for up-gradation. When I looked at the licensing portal, it says "This product does not require a product key"
    My questions are:
    1) Should I download the 2012 version from licensing center and pass the downloaded copy to respective team members?
    2) Can the team member download the SQL server 2012 developer edition from Microsoft site and install it on their machines?
    3) Do we need to first un-install 2008 R2?
    4) How the licensing can be managed in cases of products which say "This product does not require a product key.", i.e. how can I make sure that no more than 5 installations are done by the team

    1. Developer edition has license associated with it .And yes you can download it if you have subscription. But please be informed that you cannot use Developer edition in production, its not allowed and illegal.
2.You can upgarde from SQL server 2008 R2 to 2012 developer edition by Inplace upgrade method ,you can also follow side by side approach. For side by side approach you have to get new box ,intall OS,then install SQL server 2012 ,move logins and jobs and move
databases by backup restore. You must see supported upgrades
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143393(v=sql.110).aspx
3.No not ins any case ,please dont do that
4.Licensing question should best be asked with Microsoft licensing expert.
reg process of upgarde first run upgrade advisor and look for error if any. Then run SQL server 2012  setup and in maintenance section select edition upgrade, other process is same as SQL Server installtion

  • Jinspired Provides Free JDBInsight 1.2 Developer Edition License

    Press Release
Jinspired Provides Free JDBInsight 1.2 Developer Edition License
DUBLIN, IRELAND - 14 April , 2003 - Jinspired (www.jinspired.com), a leader in J2EE™ transaction analysis, today announced that it is providing a free license for the Developer Edition of its innovative performance tuning product, JDBInsight 1.2.
J2EE developers using JDBInsight 1.2, can now acquire a greater understanding of the transactional behaviour of their J2EE components from day one. With the early adoption of JDBInsight in the development life cycle, many of the common performance problems can be prevented. JDBInsight's unique and powerful information visualizations of SQL and JDBC transactions, make it an ideal tool for those development teams looking to reduce the risks of incurring future performance and scalability problems with their J2EE applications.
"The feedback from the development and performance testing community regarding JDBInsight's low overhead, transactional behaviour data capture, and user interface has been phenomenal.", said William Louth, CTO & Product Architect, Jinspired. “The reason for providing a free Developer Edition license is to encourage the early adoption of Java application performance and monitoring products. Typically, Jinspired is called in to resolve performance problems too late in the development lifecycle, resulting in increased development, hardware and software costs to the customer that could have been prevented.”
How to get a free developer license?
    Visit http://www.jinspired.com/products/jdbinsight/download.html.
    Forthcoming Release - JDBInsight 2.0
Jinspired also announced that it will be releasing version 2.0 of JDBInsight at the JavaOne conference to be held in San Francisco, CA , 10-13 June 2003. The new release will be on show at their JavaOne stand. Some of the new features in JDBInsight 2.0 include:-
Automatic Java component detection and classification engine for EJB, JDO, JSP and Servlets
Integrated Java call stack and transactional path analysis
    Advanced performance bottleneck visualizations
Java VM Profiler Interface (JVMPI) support
    Transaction demarcation identification
    System Testing support
    Snapshot comparison
    Scripting interface
    About JDBInsight
JDBInsight is an innovative enterprise development product, aimed at simplifying the performance tuning and testing of J2EE™ applications, which access data through the Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) API. JDBInsight analyses the access of enterprise data by J2EE client-, web-, and bean containers. The analysis can encompass transaction executions, from multiple J2EE containers. JDBInsight captures timing and execution information for enterprise data accessed by Servlets, JavaServer Pages, Session- and Entity Beans using JDBC or an Entity Bean using a container's persistence engine. JDBInsight can also profile non-J2EE applications that access enterprise data through the JDBC API.
    About Jinspired
Jinspired located in Ireland, delivers JDBInsight, a comprehensive solution for Application Performance Tuning and Testing that focuses directly on early identification within the development and testing lifecycle. Jinspired offers sophisticated analytical tools, that capture transactional behaviour and performance timing information, across multiple containers in a single console, and presents this information intuitively to the user "Visualizing the Invisible”.

The two non-localhost IP address for the developer edition

If you restart the ColdFusion service the current IP

  • TBIT40 Developer Edition

Anybody could exchange TBIT40 with any other module given. I lost my copy of it. Now i am preparing for ceritification. Just wanna go through once again.

    Hi Thomas,
The trial version is valid for 90 days, but you can extend the license for at least another 90 days.
There is also an official developer edition from service marketplace, but then you have to request a license key from service marketplace.
    Best regards,
    Johan

  • Upgrading from Trial version to Developer Edition

We installed SQL server 2014 trial edition in 2014 and the trial period just expired. No longer access SQL server 2014. Also in 2014 I purchased the SQL server 2014 Developer Edition.
I go in the maintenance section of SQL server 2014 and try to upgrade by entering my product key and get an error message that my product key is not valid. I called Microsoft and two different employees confirmed my product key is good.
Should I be able to upgrade from Trial version to Developer Edition by simply entering my product key?
    Thank you

    Hi cguay01,
As other post, you should be able to upgrade from Trial Edition to Developer Edition by entering product key from SQL Server setup wizard, you can follow the steps in this similar
blog. You can also use the following command lines to upgrade SQL Server 2014 Trial to a full version.
    Setup.exe /q /ACTION=editionupgrade /INSTANCENAME=<MSSQLSERVER or instancename> /PID=<PID key for new edition>" /IACCEPTSQLSERVERLICENSETERMS
According to your description, the issue that “product key is not valid” might be caused by several reasons such as corrupted installation file, antivirus scanning and so on. There are some proposals for you troubleshooting this issue.
    1. Please ensure that your SQL Server installation file is not corrupted. If you are using ISO download, please copy the content of the ISO image to the local disk on your computer and upgrade SQL Server from there.
    2. Make sure you use corresponding license key matched the edition and version of SQL Server.
    3. Make sure that you don’t exceed the limit of allowed activations of the product key.
    4. Turn off any Anti-virus software when upgrading SQL Server.

  • Installing SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition or wait for SP2?

    Hi everyone,
I just received my copy of SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition I ordered.  As usual, before installing, I searched the web for any hint or other stuff on the subject.
I first found that SP1 was already available.  Honestly I prefer installing using the last version available instead of upgrading.  I found the SP1 install package using the following web address:
    http://www.microsoft.com/fr-ca/download/details.aspx?id=35575
Is this the right install package to use?
Now, still reading everything I could find on that SP1, I found stories about major issues with SP1.
    Two examples I remember:
    http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/770630
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793634/en-us?wa=wsignin1.0
Two others (not specifically related to SP1):
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlsetupandupgrade/thread/a0da3372-ab3d-4af0-b4c4-0d47163e0e03/
    http://www.sqlperformance.com/2012/11/system-configuration/2012-cal-problems
My question.  Should I wait for SP2?  If so, any target date when it should be available?
If not, what would you recommend as the logic install sequence?  Should I look for any cumulative update(s)?  Any other "manual settings" I should consider?
Finally, can someone guide me regarding what options I should choose while installing.  My main goal is to program/build C++, C# applications using VS2010 that will interface with SQL Server for data storage purposes (add/update/delete,
    batch update/delete) and reports.
    Hope to hear from someone.
    Stephane
BTW:  My current setup is the following:
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU  [email protected]
    3.00 Go
    Vista Ultimate SP2 32bits
Visual Studio 2010 Professional Edition (which will be upgraded to last SP once installed)

    Hi again,
I proceeded with download of CU7.  On Microsoft's webpage, there are several files we can download:
    2012_SP1_DAC_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
    2012_SP1_AOrcleDes_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
    2012_SP1_AOrcleSer_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86

    SQLServer2012_SP1_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
      Which one I should choose?
Also, some people reported having problems installing this update.

    Hi,
This 3rd time I followed this link. But nothing new, same error.
Can you please tell me how to do follow, I cannt do the 1st step, how to change the local system to windows level account, vice-versa. It is shown mine as
    Server Configuration Manager(Local)
From here I folllowed the steps ---[I cannt insert link/image :-(]
SQL 2008/R2 setup fails with "Wait on the database engine recovery handle failed"
If I right clicked on SQL Server Service, there is no option to change the account.
    Hello,
Thanks for your patience, did you tried stesp mentioned in below article
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqljourney/archive/2012/03/16/sql-2008-r2-setup-fails-with-quot-wait-on-the-database-engine-recovery-handle-failed-quot.aspx
To resolve it, follow these steps:-
When the installation throws this error, click on OK and allow it to proceed. It will fail for Database Engine, but the SQL Server service should have
been created. Check the Services console.
If the service is present, perform the following steps:-
    1. Go to SQL Server Configuration manager, right click on the SQL Server service, and change the service account (if it is local system, give
it a windows level account, and vice-versa). It might throw a WMI error but you will see the account getting updated anyway. If not, then use the Services console. Change the account for SQL Agent as well.
Use this link to change sql server service account
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345578.aspx
    2. Next, try to start the service. It should come online.
    3. However, you will not be able to log in to the SQL Server
    4. Now stop the service and start it from the command prompt using -m -c -T3608 parameters.
    5. Now try logging in to the server using admin connection from sqlcmd (sqlcmd admin:<server name>\<instance name> ...)
    6. Once logged in, use the sp_addsrvrolemember '<domain\username>','sysadmin'.
Also add the builtin/administrators to the sysadmin role
    7. Now stop the service from the command prompt and start it from SQL Server configuration manager
You should be able to log in to the server now.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • How do I migrate views from MS SQL 2008 to Oracle 11g through SQL Developer

Is there any way to migrate the views from MS SQL 2008 to Oracle 11g through SQL Developer? Please give me some detail steps. Thanks for your help.

    Hi Turloch,
When I use migrate to oracle, I got a problem, the migrate tool create a new schema for me in my case (AZTECA_KSMMS), it migrates all the stuffs under that schema (AZTECA_KSMMS). However my application need the all the Oracle data under schema AZTECA instead of AZTECA_KSMMS. Is there any way to specify specific schema (AZTECA) for target oracle database? Schema remapping is available:
First Capture (separately) then during right click convert on the captured model there is a Specify the conversion options with a Object Naming tab where the schema (and other) name changes are editable.
I have not used this recently.
Also during the migration process, when I choose repository, there is a check box for truncate to reset repository to empty state, Do I need to check that truncate Check Box so the repository will be cleared from last migration? The repository can hold multple migration attempts. Check truncate to get rid of previous attempts information. This cleans up the repository - not the destination database.
There are also online database and offline database options during the migration process, what are the difference between these two choices? After I migrated to Oracle, all my views has a red cross icon next to it. Does that mean the view migration is failed or not? Please give me your comments. Thanks for your help.offline: for big (amount of data) databases with simple data types,
uses bcp + files + scripts + sqlldr.
online: for small (amount of data) databases (easier),
    uses (Java) jdbc.
The view is likely to be broken - recompiling it may help.
The Oracle schema is created using a .sql file - see under generated in the directory you gave originally in the wizard. There is a .out file that contains the result of running this script including any errors. During conversion there are also likely to be warnings displayed on the UI.
There may be a single issue that is causing multiple issues - if viewa depends on functionb, and functionb is broken, viewa will also fail.
