Can I call .m files from a LabVIEW executable without the full development version of matlab installed?

I have an executable that I am trying to build (and distribute). Right now, it has Matlab script nodes that call some matlab .m scripts that someone else wrote. The target PC will not have the full development version of Matlab installed. Would that work? I have tried to compile the .m scripts into a DLL, but I can't import that to LabVIEW because of the special Matlab types (*mxArrays). I have also tried to write a wrapper around that DLL, but with no success. So now I'm wondering if I can either call the Matlab .m scripts directly from a Matlab Script node OR if I can call my Matlab DLL from within a script node. OR any other idea someone might have...

I looked at MathScript and am considering using it, but one thing that is not clear to me is if I will be able to use my .m files like I can with Matlab. I call the same Matlab script repeatedly and it keeps track of some information in global variables (for example, the number of consecutive detections). Can I do that entirely within mathscript or would I have to reload all of the info each time -- if I had to do that, it would mean substantial changes to the .m files ... and that's not an option.

In order to function with AirPrint, a printer must connect to the network wirelessly.
Even if you have an AirPrint compatible printer, iOS devices will not be able to print to the printer when it is connected via USB.
So, you have two options:
1) Reconfigure the printer to connect to the network using wireless only and the iOS devices should be able to print that way....assuming that you have up to date drivers for the printer installed.
2) Leave the printer connected via USB and then use a third party App like Printopia installed on your Mac as a "workaround" to (hopefully) allow the iOS to device to be able to print. If you want to give this a try, there is a free trial for Printopia, so you will know if it will work before you buy. You must have a Mac running on the network in order for Printopia to function correctly.

Do you have Adobe Reader installed, by any chance? If so, are you aware if it was the PPC or Intel version which you installed? In any case, for the time being, have a quick look in 'HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/' using Finder and see if there's an Adobe plugin lying around. If there is, try moving it out of the folder and restarting Safari.

             When i try to open a file(a driver to an OSA from Agilent) appears a error message, saying that the source´s version is too old(5.1.1), when my labview is 8.6.
             Anybody knows something about it?

The manufacturer's web site has a newer version of the driver for that instrument. It's not written all that well, but at least it uses VISA, unlike the VI you uploaded, which uses old GPIB functions. The library the manufacturer provides is in 5.1, which unfortunately you still cannot open in 8.6. Attached is the library in 8.2. For what it's worth, the VI you uploaded in 8.2 is also attached.

HT201250 can I back up files from one hard drive to the other hd using time machine?

I would like to back up my files automatically from one hard drive to another skipping the computer backup. If anyone knows anything on how to set it up, I would like your help

If you want to copy one external disk to another external disk, and you want an exact copy, then you might consider Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper. Either of which will make an exact duplicate of the disk.
If you wish to have Time Machine include an external disk as part of your normal Time Machine backups, that means just including the external disk as part of your Time Machine backups.
If you mean run a One-Off backup of the external drive to another external drive using Time Machine, I would go with CCC or SuperDuper.
If you could give some more details about what you are trying to do, how often you want to do this, what kind of information is on the drive being backed up, how often the data is being changed and thus how often you want to do this disk to disk backup, whether you want to have the incremental backups offered by Time Machine, or if you just want a copy, and anything else you can think to tell us about your situation and the problem you are trying to solve.

Run labview executable without installing

Hi
We need t run a LabVIEW executable without the need to install the runtime engine first.
In fact we use a LabVIEW program to distribute LabVIEW within our company.
We add our own library and a special license request form and make it possible to install a LabVIEW development environment
with only the push of one button.
In LV8.2 however this no longer works. First the runtime environment has to be installed before we can run our LabVIEW application.
Previous LabVIEW versions worked OK.
Are we missing an option in the installer somewhere or can somebody show the way to make this work again otherwise we have to keep 8.01 until infinity....

Long time no see... Perhaps at the user group meting okt. 5?
We (Andre) did some experiments with this just last week. He copied everything from the normal installation directory (program files) runtime directory to a new directory on a clean PC. In the same directory he put an executable, and it did run properly (although I think he also copied the models directory to get proper control images).
Only thing is that at the startup of the exe, we get a dialog "Installing...". Still working on that. This might even work from a CD...
He made a big effort to remove all previous LabVIEW stuff, but to be honest, we didn't try it on a completelly "clean" system.

How can I read pdf files from LabVIEW with different versions of Acrobat reader?
I have made a LabVIEW program where I have possibility to read a PDF document. When I made this LabVIEW program it was Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 that was installed on the PC. Lather when the Acrobat Reader was upgraded to version 6.0, there was an error when VI tries to launch the LabVIEW program. And Later again when we upgraded to Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 I must again do some changes and rebuild the EXE files again
It isn't so very big job to do the changes in one single LabVIEW program, but we have built a lot of LabVIEW programs so this take time to due changes every time vi update Acrobat Reader. (We have build EXE files.)
The job is to right click the ActiveX container and Click "Insert ActiveX Object", then I can brows the computer for the new version of acrobat Reader. After this I must rebuild all the "methods" in the Activex call to make the VI executable again.
Is there a way to build LabVIEW program so I don't have to do this job every time we update Acrobat Reader?
This LabVIEW program is written in LabVIEW 6.1, but I se the problem is the same in LabVIEW 8.2.

First the application seems to allocate the array of references
internally and return a pointer to that array. In that case there must
be another function which then deallocates that array again.

Pass the int32 you got from the first parameter of the previous call as

Where in the screen (designed by dotnet) a browse option will be present and I will give the csv file location and this will be passed into stored procedure as an input parameter.
Now I need a stored Procedure that can Import my csv file table data into Oracle database10g.
I shoudnot use the import option present in the physical Oracle Database.
Can any one please provide me the stored Procedure?

If you supply a file location for the server code, and that location is not on the server, how do you expect the server to access that file in that location?
You cannot expect the server to hacks its way across the network, crack open a remote file system somewhere, and steal that file from that location.
As the client has access to that location and file, the client needs to read that file and supply that file's content to the server. This is how the server receives a file from a client. With Oracle. With FTP. With SCP. With SFTP. With HTTP. With SMTP and file attachments to e-mails. Etc.
This is not specific to Oracle. This is a fundamental concept. So the problem here is your ignorance of client-server and not a problem with Oracle and not a problem with PL/SQL.
I shoudnot use the import option present in the physical Oracle Database.Not sure what this mean, but the basic statement that "+we should not use feature 123 or feature ABC of Oracle+", is invariable an utterly idiotic statement to make. This is an excellent article from Uli.
One reason, I dont like this approach is that is mandates to copy the .jar file to the driver folder and restart the agent.
Think of a scenario where there are several developers in love with Java and want to place the jars in the drivers directory.
This is a maintenance nightmare for the admin and would clutter up the drivers directory.
