  • Help With Netweaver Developer Studio Version

    Hi everyone I have a problem, I am doing some examples to programmer Web dynpro using netweaver developer studio, How can I know what is my Netweaver Developer Studio version? Because I have a trial version and I dont know if my version is compatible to doing some examples, for example I found this link
    Web Dynpro Java Tutorials and Samples NW 2004
    and I wanna doing the example "Using EJBs in Web Dynpro" and when I open this document it starts with SAP netweaver 04 and I don't know if my trial version is compatible with this example.
    Thanks

    Israel,
    Open your NWDS, go to Help/About.
    Most likely you will see something like:
    Version: 7.0.11
    If version is 7.0.X, your NWDS is NetWeaver 7.0, formerly known as NetWeaver 2004s.
    Most likely there will be no problem running examples from NW 2004, earlier version.
    Just make sure your JDK you have on your dev computer has similar version as JDK on the target server, if you are building locally and deploying your application to another server.
    Post if you have a different version.
    We will guess what NW version it belongs to.

  • Rename Project in Netweaver Developer Studio

    Hi..
    I need to change the name of my project and par file from BoxOffice to com.sfa.BoxOffice.
    I tried the rename option in the Netweaver Developer Studio.It does rename the file.But when i make some changes and build again..it creates the new par file with the old project name.
    Even though i have renamed the project to com.sfa.BoxOffice it still creates the par file as BoxOffice.par.
    Is there any other place where I need to change something?
    Thanks
    Alkesh

    All you need to do is delete the par from the project.  Then export the project again, this time, make sure to change the name of the par in the dialog.
    Rightclick the project, select "Export".  you will get a dialog with the par file path and file name.   Change this filename and click finish.  that's it.

  • Problem with NetWeaver Developer Studio

    I have NetWeaver Dev Studio 2.0.9 installed. I have JDK version 1.4.2_11 also. The environment variables are all set properly.
    I can create a new Java project without problem, but any time I try to create a new "Portal Project", I get a "Invalid Project Description" error. I also get this same error when I try to import a .par file. The project paths are named differently from the file names, etc.
    I have uninstalled all JDKs, JREs, etc, and uninstalled Netweaver and reinstalled everything, to no avail.
    Any assistance in this matter would be most appreciated.
    thank you,
    K.

    Hi
    To solve your problem you need to copy all your workspace contents to some other place .
    Uninstall your NWDS & Delete all the previous Workspace.
    Reinstall NWDS & it will work fine .

  • Problem with netweaver developer studio for sp9

    Hi,
    Presenty we are on ep6 sp10 and we have downloaded dev studio for sp9 which is available on sdn.we have j2sdk1.4.2_06
    the problem is that when i deploy a par file from netweaver and try to create an iview based on that par it gives me the following error
    Portal Runtime Error
    An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
    com.sapportals.portal.navigation.ToolAreaiView.
    Exception id: 04:25_03/03/05_0005_4061050
    See the details for the exception ID in the log file
    The strange thing is that if i use ep6 sp2 dev studio it works fine. So is there any problem with sp9 dev studio?

    I think that with NWDS the SP of the portal and NWDS much match.
    Hope it helps,
    Patrick.

    There is a  " (double quote missing in the xsi:schemaLocation attribute. This is the reason. I am guessing that you may have tried manually editing this web.xml file and may not have correctly edited it.
    To correct the <? xml ?> and <!DOCTYPE> tags - please openup a blank Web Module Project and copy these two tags only from the web.xml and overwrite the same tags in your web.xml.
    Hope that this helps.

  • Creating Portal application without dynpage

    Hi,
    I have created a Dynpage portal component in SAP Netweaver Developer Studio. It is via the JDI server deployed and transported to our environments.
    I had a performance issue because too much data was loaded to the client. I got rid of all HtmlB and EPCF stuff, so that load overhead is reduced to 10%.
    I just want to remove the DynePage as well on server side. How do I do that?
    Is it not true that this is the minimum code required for implementing a controller for my Development component?:
    public class Controller extends PageProcessorComponent {
         public DynPage getPage() {
              return new ControllerDynPage();
         public static class ControllerDynPage extends JSPDynPage {
              public void doInitialization() {
              public void doProcessAfterInput() throws PageException {
              public void doProcessBeforeOutput() throws PageException {
                   this.setJspName("UserInterface.jsp");
    Can I remove the Dynpage implementation, to contain an ordinary class as controller?

    Hi Flemming
          You can remove a dynpro by enter in
    \usr\sap\<instance_name>\JC<instance_number>\SDM\program
          and run the bat file
              RemoteGui.bat
    That is a program similar to the SDM, there is a list with all the deployments listed in the Web Application Server
    Search the name of the application that you want to undeployment and itu00B4s all..
    If the answer helps you, regards

  • NWDS: NetWeaver Development Studio

    Hi,
    I begin to learn to create a Java mapping and I have a question about NWDS.
    Our NWDS uses the version 2.1.2 of Eclipse.
    Is it normal?
    Is there a mean to use the version 3.0? (more user-friendly)
    Thanks
    Mickael

    Hi Mickael,
    Please post this question on the portal and application server forums-you will get a better response:-)...btw, here are some threads which have discussed the same question:-

  • Netweave Developer Studio 7.0 Vs Netweaver Developer studio 7.1

    Hi all
    Can anyone tell me the difference between Netweave Developer Studio 7.0 and Netweaver Developer studio 7.1?
    are there any documents for the same?
    Regards,
    Sheetal

    Hi,
    Three main parts are added to NW 7.1 surrounded business process platform: Composition Environment (CE), Enterprise Services Repository (ESR) and NetWeaver Process Integration (PI).
    Composite applications (composites) are functioning service-enabled interfaces to existing backend systems. NW 7.1 is coming with tools to develop, run, and manage composite applications using SAP's enterprise SOA. This is based on enhanced technologies like:
    SAP NetWeaver Application Server for Java
    Web Dynpro
    SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio for service creation and provisioning
    Service Registry and repository for service management
    Guided Procedures for process modeling
    SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer for UI modeling
    SAP Composite Application Framework for Java business object modeling and service abstraction
    Enterprise Services Repository is SAPu2019s web services repository.
    NetWeaver Process Integration (NWPI) is next generation of SAP Exchange infrastructure (XI) kind of integration hub; handling integration between SAP/non-SAP applications

    Hi Jennifer,
                 This problem is a common one.
    1)Make sure that you have Administrator rights in the systems where you are launching NW Studio.
    2)Go to your workspace check the log file (basically a text file)
    3)Clear your unwanted registry in your registry folder.
    If this doesn't work, re-install NW Studio by deleting the older version from Add or Remove Program in control Panel.
    Give the Java bin path correctly and devote any folder of your choice to be your workspace.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards,
    Guru.
    P.S :- There is no link for launching of NW Studio with Internet Explorer as both are different applications.

  • SAP netweaver developer studio - deploying to j2ee engine - URGENT!!

    I am trying a deploy a j2ee application from SAP netweaver developer studio. It is asking for SAP J2EE engine's message server port. Do you know from where I can find that???

    Hi,
    the message server port is given in the profile file for the Central Services instance of the J2EE Engine. Here's the path to this file: \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile directory. The file name is formed using the following scheme: <SID>_<Central_instance_name>_<hostname>.
    Open it with a text editor and have a look at the value of the rdisp/msserv property (this is the port of the message server you need to use).

  • ESA system and Netweaver developer studio

    hi
    how can i  connect to ESA system from Netweaver developer studio?
    is there a tutorial i can learn from?
    thanks

    hi guy,
    there is no such thing like a "ESA system". ESA(Enterprise Service Architecture) or more precisely SOA(service oriented architecture) is an idea or a paradigm, describing a kind of IT-architecture(application level) capable to meet a number of today's challenges of heterogenous system landscapes (find yourself some kick-start literature to get familiar with SOA/ESA principles).
    This said, you can't "connect to ESA System" from NWDS, but you can develop software(e.g. services) in NWDS to be deployed to a system that resembles a service oriented architecture, for instance SAP Netweaver, which adds enterprise level features (scalability, stability, sw lifecycle management, ...) to it's SOA blueprint nd therefore calls it ESA.
    hope this clarifies some things,
    anton
