Can't reinstall InDesign

I uninstalled InDesign CC, with Windows uninstaller, and now I want to reinstall. The problem is that CC Desktop shows it as installed and up to date. I had to uninstall because my Lightroom upgrade wasn't working so I uninstalled all CC applications and the ran CC Cleaner. I've tried to run CC Cleaner again but it doesn't give option for just InDesign and I would prefer not to uninstall everything and then reinstall. Is there a way to force a reinstallation?

Quit and restart the CC Desktop App (use the "gear" icon at the upper right of the panel to quit,not just close the window). If that doesn't do it, uninstall the CC app and reinstall it.

Can't reinstall InDesign CS3

I was a longtime PageMaker user, and upgraded from PageMaker 6.5 to InDesign CS3 a few years ago. I'm not a designer, so use it mostly for family projects. Last month my computer died and I took it to a computer shop, where they had to wipe it clean (saving files), which required me to reinstall all my software. No problem with anything except the InDesign. Because it was an upgrade, it wants the serial number from my PageMaker, which I discarded not long after I originally upgraded to InDesign. I want to be able to use it (I did pay for it, after all -- even if it isn't the most current version anymore). I "chatted" online with Adobe technical support, but they said they can't help me because it's not a current version. Is there anything I can do to be able to use this program that I paid for? Any help is much appreciated.

I'm sure I registered my PageMaker, but I was using a different email at that time, and I'm unable to log in to Adobe using that email address (and the various passwords I was using way back then). My current profile shows my serial number for my InDesign -- and my registration date in 2008. Maybe I shouldn't have discarded the PageMaker serial number, but still.... they have a record that I legitimately installed it in 2008.
I got an email response after my online "chat" and it didn't even refer back to me and my problem. It didn't even get my name correct! Doesn't make me feel very confident in the level of support... Here's that email, copied and pasted:

If my hard drive has died can I reinstall Indesign CS4

I purchased CS4 and both myself and my partner downloaded no problem, this week however the hard disk has died on the laptop - how if at all can I download onto a new mac?

Peter, FYI, I'm not sure that link is as good as you may think.
I recently wiped my HD and installed a new OS (from 10.4 to 10.6). I had backed up my CS3 download installer to DVD when I got it in 2008, but for some reason, I couldn't get the installer to work when I put in on the newly-wiped drive. I remembered that you had suggested this particular link recently, so I tried it, but it didn't work for me. I clicked on the link for Mac CS3 Design Standard, and after signing in (as requested), it took me to the Adobe downloads page where only CS5 was available.
Fortunately for me, I tried loading from my backup DVD again and got it to work. I'm not sure why it didn't work the first time, but I probably just made a mistake. I suppose I could have made a similar mistake in trying the download from this page, but if you would care to give it a try, maybe you can verify that it really works.

Can't reinstall InDesign CC

HELP! On a tight deadline... My InDesign kept crashing no matter how I tried to open it. It wan't just one file it was all files. So I uninstalled, and now when I go to download it from the cloud it tells me there is an install probalem. Not entirely good at this and not sure what I am doing wrong.

I am on a brand new macbook pro. I downloaded Indesign from the creative cloud as well as photoshop. photoshop works fine but when i opened ID, i recieved an error that said "installation failed, please uninstall/reinstall.
So I uninstalled it from my computer. When i went back to the creative cloud, it showed that i had already installed the app, and it was up to date, so there was no way to reinstall it.

Hello, things seemed to have moved on since the previous thread on this subject, sorry to repeat.
I have uninstalled Indesign CS6 and am using CC.
But I now want to use Em Software's InData, which is not yet available for CC.
So I want to reinstall Indesign CS6.
Unfortunately it is gone from the CC app manager.
Where can I reinstall Indesign CS6 from with my CC license?

Click on InDesign.
Scroll down to to in this version and change the drop down to CS6.

Thank you. I am a little bit busy at work, sorry for the delayed reply. I tried to solve the problem, but it still exists. The 3rd of the Adobe disk is damaged someway. I tried to run on my mac at home and it has a failure. So I think we have no other choice that to download the full pack of master collection. I had a discussion with the IT expert and he figured out that company does not exist any more from where they purchased the Adobe Master Collection for Mac and PC. So If you would be kind to help me, what kind of information ID or any kind of document would be needed to identify the purchaser institute (us). I don't think any of us has an account at the Adobe. I will try to figur out. I desperately need to replace Photoshop and InDesign as without them it's really harsh to teach the kids fot the graphic design.

I had all my software, including my ‘Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium’ removed from my MacPro (OSX 10.10.2) by a Computer technician after I had inadvertently installed some malware.
Now I can’t reinstall my CS4 because the installer software wants me to identify the product from which I am upgrading, but mine isn’t on the list. The old product from which I am upgrading is called ‘Adobe Design Collection’. Furthermore, it has 4 serial numbers (one each for Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and Illustrator), not just one, as the installer requires.
I know this can be done, as I have had it working for a long time. Am I doing something wrong now?

Contact support be web chat and have them generate a working temporary serial/ challenge code for the install.

It should be. What happens when you try?
Did you copy or migrate your InDesign files to a new computer? That won't work. You would need to remove all the CS files with the Adobe Cleaner tool, then reinstall from a clean installed copy.

I reinstalled InDesign 6 and it keeps closing as soon as I open it

I reinstalled Indesign CS6 on my reformatted computer. At first it asked me to register the product. I said Not now because it is already registered.
It wouldn't allow me to use it and just closed.
I can't get into the program because it closes right after opening.
According to my personal page it says the product is already registered.
Please help.

Can't start InDesign CC 2014

Unfortunately the solution mentioned there doesn’t work for me.
My newly installed InDesign CC 2014 doesn’t start, the errors message says I haven‘t got the required permissions for access to the preferences folder.
What I tried:
- I copied the preferences folder ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Adobe InDesign/9.0 to ..../10.0
(first only the folder, then including AppPrefs.xml, both didn’t help)
These folders have owner "myusername"/"staff"
- tried Disk Utility to repair permissions
System is MacOSX Mavericks (10.9.3)
Every other InDesign version starts fine (CS5.5 to CC), also the new Photoshop works.
Any other folders to check? Which permissions for which user are required?

1. Maybe you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:

2, Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
3. Did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing"?
Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)

Configuration error 5 - I can't reinstall

I've recently bought a new mac mini, and I used migration assistant to copy everything from my old mac mini via time machine.
I had to put in the serial number again for Photoshop but that has worked fine since.
I'm having trouble though with InDesign as it won't go past the error message "configuration error"
I can't reinstall from the disc as there is no disc drive in the new mac mini and it wouldn't accept a third party CD drive.
Is there anything I can do?
