Can't save to other directories

I have a bug since yesterday. When I try and save an image to another folder. I get an error message : cannot complete this operation and unknown error has occurred. Also what happen if I try and save to another folder in my documents I will be able to see teh folder but as I try and save to a sub folder the whole dialog box just disappears and that error pops up. I have tried reinstalling and alos deleting preferences. Not helping. Essentially I am unable to save files or use the save as command any where on my system now except the directory they were opened in. Using Photoshop CC on a I7 Imac running Mavericks

I think the problem is the way you are creating the file object. Try
docRef.saveAs(new File("/F/temp/TargaTest.tga"),tgaSaveOptions,false);

  • We have a PC with iTunes that needs the hard drive reformatted. Right now, it can't connect to other computers on the network. Can I save my music to a thumb drive, then re-load when the computer is reformatted?

We have a Windows XP desktop with iTunes for windows. The hard drive needs to be reformatted. Right now, the computer will not connect to other computers on the network. Can I save my iTunes songs to a thumbdrive, then re-load after reformatting?  How do I do it?

Copy the entire iTunes folder out to the drive. If it is too big to go as one copy stuff over to another computer in batches. It is important to have not only the media but the library file in order to properly restore your library.
See also this User Tip. Assuming the machine won't connect to the internet you could download the SyncToy installer on another machine and then transfer it with the thumb drive. If it will connect to the net don't forget to deauthorize the machine before reformatting the hard drive.

  • How can I save text messages to my Mac and will that reduce "Other" in storage?

I have hundreds (or more) of text messages on my iPhone 5 that for personal reasons, I want to save. There are far too many to do screenshots. I want to save them to my MacBook Pro Retina in a readable and printable format. The reason is that I read that text messages can cause the "Other" storage to be higher. My "Other" is over 6 GB on a 16 GB iphone. Therefore I want to save texts, print them, and delete from phone.
First question: Is it true that text messages contribute to the size of "Other"?
Second question: How can I save texts to Mac in readable format so they could be printed?
Third question: How in the world do I delete all these texts from my iPhone efficiently? Is there a way to "mass delete"?
When you are answering this, perhaps it is noteworthy that:
    (a) I've had an iPhone since a 3G in 2009, and the texts I want to save have been accumulating since then.
    (b) My "Other" has gradually gotten larger over the years.
    (c)  I sync with itunes regularly.
    (d) I've never had any problems with an iphone or with my data.
    (e) I've restored from backup only three times, when I upgraded to the iphone 4, 4S, and 5.
I want to get this "Other" cleared up before I upgrade to the iphone 5S.
    Thank you.

You can select to export a folder to save as a .mbox file. This file would need to be imported if you wanted to view the messages.
    Select mailbox (folder)
Under Mailbox in the Menu bar select Export Mailbox...
You might also want to check out the demo for EagleFiler by the author for SpamSieve. You could view and search the messages archived in EagleFiler.

Is it only Mail that is slow?  How much free space on your drive? Use Disk Utility to find available space.

  • When deleting iCloud account, how can I save the photo's & other apps etc that are stored in iCloud?

I have recently changed my Apple ID as my email address has changed & also changed my password.
I posted a question yesterday about this & have since discovered from further searching here, that I need to delete and set up a new iCloud account as my iPad keeps asking me to login in with my Apple ID showing my old email address (& doesn't accept old (or new) password). Also, naturally, I can't back up with iCloud.
When I go to delete iCloud account a message appears that my photo stream (& presumably other stored apps etc?) will be deleted/ lost from my iPad too. I currently have no access to any other computer (when return home I have a windows lap top only). I am therefore very reluctant to delete my account in fear of loosing my photo's in particular.
Can any one help with the above please? Would all my stored data (phot's, apps etc) actually be deleted from my iPad when deleting my iCloud account? If so how else can I save (later restore?) my iCloud stored data?
    Man thanks,
    NJohnR

I do appreciate your, obviously experienced, help.
When I went to change my details in the mail settings as you suggested, I was unable to do so. Yes- I could & did add my new email details that I changed to in my Apple ID. however I was unable to change the primary email & therefore iCloud still wouldn't recognise my new Apple ID & kept asking for my details under my old/ original email address.
Though I did search further after this in the iCloud web site & found further very similar questions to mine where users were successful by deleting the iCloud account.
So I went ahead & did this. As soon as I had deleted the account it asked me to login to iCloud with my new email address in my Apple ID which worked fine - & I have also retained all my data.
Again, I appreciate your help & time you spent in reading and answering my need for help.
    All the best,
    NJohnR

  • Why can I only "Save as Other... Reduce File Size" a single time for an Adobe X file?

We are struggling with our form editing in that anytime we make a change and save the file size is doubled.  As a work around we started using the ...Reduce File Size save as.   However, we can only use that once per file.    Some of our forms contain several hundred fields that are edited, with the behavior as is we cannot save our work as we go.
    Reproduction Steps...
    1. Open a file in Acrobat X and note it's file size.
    2. Make any kind of change (our work is focued on View>Forms>Edit)
    3. Go to File > Save as Other... > Reduce Size PDF
    4. Set Version Compatability to 'Retain Existing' and Save
    5. File size should be very close to the original
    6. Open the new file
    7. Rinse and repeat steps 2 and 3
    8. Note  that when you go to try to Save as the new edit, the Save As Reduce size is grayed out and no longer available for seslection.
    Please help!!!!

Just do a standard Save As. The problem is that Save includes the old and new. Save As deletes the old. Also, if you distribute the form it is locked from editing as I understand it.

  • How do i save my document on pages so that i can open it on other computers

How do I sav emy document on pages so that i can open it on other computers?

Well, that was the short answer, then I rethought your question.
Will the “other computers,” be Mac, or a mixture of Mac, Windows PC, and possibly Linux?
What application on the other computers will be accessing the Pages content created on your MacBook Pro?
Using the File export options I originally mentioned, you could save the files to iCloud. Then on the other computer, you use the web browser to sign into your iCloud account. When you click the iWork icon, the files that you saved from your MBP will be there. You can then right-click on the file you want and a download option exists.

  • How can i save the Visual script in other drive

    Hello
I'm new in this Forum and i'm just started working on Oracle functional tool.
In Oracle functional tool , i can't save the visual script in the different path ...
    For example:
I have installed this suite in drive C: and all the scripts are saved with in it..But i want to save the script in other drive whereas E: drive ...........
    How can i do.....
    Regards
    Deepika

    hi
you can store the scripts in one of the workspace available in OATS.
you wont get a chance to create the work space in other drive then in which OATS is installed.
but if you need to make a back up of scripts then simply copy and paste it wherever you want them, and whenever you need to run the script then copy it and paste to one of the workspace of OATS.
    hope will help you
    regards

  • Saveable form: I can save it, others can't

I asked about this in an earlier topic but I haven't received an answer, so I hope that starting a fresh topic will help.
I'm using Acrobat XI Pro. I created a form, then created a copy with File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools. The purpose was to enable users to save filled-in forms.
I tested the extended form and it worked. Then I sent it to the person who needs to publish it. He tested it and got the message:
"This document enabled extended features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. Please contact the author of the original version of this document."
The document has been changed? Does sending it to its intended user count as changing it? That's all I did! What happened?
I tried to find an answer myself but had no luck. I found forum posts which said that if I save a copy of the file without extended features, then open the copy and save a copy of the copy with extended features, it will work. That may be true, but I have yet to figure out how to save a copy of a the file without extended features. One post said that just saving it would do the trick. It didn't. Another advised using "File > Save a copy." That didn't either.
    What should I do?

It would be best if you worked with the non-enabled version of the document, as it existed before you Reader-enabled it, or after you "File > Save a Copy" the enabled version.
One way to do a quick check of the fonts is to open it in Acrobat and select: File > Properties > Fonts
where it will show a list of each font and indicate whether it is embedded (may show as Embedded Subset) or not.
Acrobat Pro include the Preflight functionality (Tools > Print Production > Preflight) which includes many ways to check the file for various things, such as syntax errors and unembedded fonts. For example, there's a check under PDF Analysis called "list text using non-embedded fonts", as well as "Report PDF Syntax Errors". I'm not saying that non-embedded fonts will necessarily cause this, but it seems to have been implicated in some cases.
There is a Preflight fixup that will attempt to embed non-embedded fonts if it can, but a better solution is to embed them when the PDF is generated. Exactly how you do that depends on how you're creating the PDF. I believe you said you used Word's native PDF generation feature. I don't use Word much and when I do I use Acrobat's PDF Maker or print to the PDF printer installed by Acrobat, but Word probably gives you control over embedding fonts when generating the PDF.

Can I save old mailbox folders from My Mac to other folders on desktop, so that I can refer to them later if required?

    Yes you can

  • Question: How can I save Elements 12 photos edited as other than PSE. I prefer JPEG. Also file forma

I have two problems with my new Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 editing program. I cannot seem to be able to save an edited photo as a JPEG. How can I do that. I only want to save as a PSE file in case I want to return to it later for further modifications.
My other problem is that my program locks up on me. I can only get out of the program by shutting down my computer and restarting.

    Jon,
That was my first thoughts too, but I have just done some tests and I don't think that is now the problem.
    My test was-
    1) Start with a CR2 RAW file and open it with 16 bits/channel
    2) Confirm that it is in 16 bit mode - layers not available etc.
    3) Save As and JPEG, JPG was an option and it converts it to 8 bit in the output file.
It seems that this has been the case since version 11 - perhaps you could try it to check that I'm not doing something wrong.
I think that Sureaddy's problem is that he is saving it first as a PSE file. After doing that, I can only save it as a PDF or a PSE file.
    Sureaddy
When first editing an image, I suggest you save it as a PSD (Photoshop file) not as a PSE (Photo Project File). If you are using layers, then you will be in 8 bit mode. Providing you don't save as a PSE file you should then have the option of saving it in JPEG/JPG format.
If you must use the PSE format, you could try using the Save for Web option - that can produce a JPG file.
As for your lock up problem, is there any pattern to when it locks up?

  • Can i save the sketch on the ipad device instead of to the creative clound? do i need to be on the interet at all time in order to use adobe shapes cc or any other adobe mobile app?

I am a new apple product user since I am thinking of purchase an ipad just using the adobe mobile apps products line.
I was wondering, do I need to have internet connection at all time in order to use adobe shapes cc or any other adobe mobile apps?
can I save the sketch on the device itself without having have to the creative cloud?
    thank in advance.

My problem with saving the images instead of using the creative cloud was that the image looses the vector and becomes pixilated which is what you're trying to avoid by using the app in the first place. I am confused on how to get the app to sync to the cloud, because it's not working.

  • When you build an optic flare, how do you save it so you can use it in other projects .

I built an optic flare in After Effects and I would like to use it in other projects. How do I save it so I can use it in other projects? and duplicate it.
    Thanks!

Duplicate the AE project with the flare & rename it.  Open the renamed project and delete EVERYTHING that isn't associated with the flare.  Keep the comp and any nested comps you need to make it work.  Other comps, extraneous footage and solids can go.
    Now save it again.
When you want it, import the renamed project into a new project.

  • Can I save a project from idvd as a .mov?or anything other than an idvdproj

Can I save a project from idvd as a .mov?or anything other than an idvdproject?

It's possible, but a fair amount of work to start from iDVD. Far easier is to export your project from iMovie (Share/Export) to the format desired by the web site (mp4, Flash, ??).
In either case, it will not be an interactive experience (in other words, you can have a video showing your video being selected, but the web user won't be clicking the menu button).
If you want a short intro (pictures and song), why not add that to the beginning of your iMovie project, so it all looks seamless?

  • In itunes, can i save my music on another hard drive other than C?

i have the program installed on my computer, i would like the music to be saved on another hard drive other than C, is there a way to do that within itunes?

You can have multiple libraries, and switch between them using the shift-start-iTunes method. Normally a single library is all that is required. Each library connects to a single designated media folder, however you can import content from other locations if you choose. See Make a split library portable for reasons why this may not be the best approach. If you want to access the "same" library on more than one machine then you need to clone the library files as well as media.
