Controlling Browser Window Options

Hi,
I have published swf files from Captivate and uploaded them
on a server, then published the links to the files as URL's for
customer to view the movies in a browser. These links are either
provided as a clickable link or button in a web page or as a
clickable bookmark.
I want to edit the HTM file generated by Captivate to control
how the browser opens.
In one case I want to change the HTM to open matching the
movie size and without any toolbars, menu bar etc. In the other
case I want the browser to open in a separate window sized to the
movie and without toolbars etc.
I have tried inserting the following JAVA Script:
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="javascript">
<!--
window.open (config='height=100,width=400, toolbar=no,
menubar=no, scrollbars=no, resizable=no,location=no,
directories=no, status=no')
-->
</SCRIPT>
Which only resizes the window in IE does nothing in Firefox.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Claire

no back button? you mean there's no browser?

  • Display in PDF Browser Window option

    Hi,
    I'm using Adobe Reader version 8.1.2, We deploayed the software to a number of users using the adobe customization wizard to disable the "Display PDF in Browser Window Option"
    We now want to enable this option for a few users that require the option ticked so they can view a pdf from a certain website.
    I have tried deleting the bBrowserIntegration in HKLM\Software\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Reader
    \8.0\FeatureLockDown
    This enables the option to be modified but once I tick the box and close and re-open adobe reader it does not remember that I have ticked it.
    Without re-installing adobe does anybody have any ideas what other reg keys could need to be modified.
    Thanks,
    James

    We also deployed 8.12 to over 1000 users with the "Disable PDF in browser" option checked using the customization wizard. Now we're finding some users need it to view certain PDFs in a web-based application.
    We would like to add the option, but removing the registry key doesn't actually install the option when you check it. It seems you might have to create a new mst then redeploy. We'd really like to not have to do that, if at all possible.
    In the Reader archives, one guy suggested running this:
    msiexec /i Adobe_Reader_8.1_MUI.msi ADDLOCAL=ReaderBrowserIntegration
    I haven't tried that yet. Any feedback or other suggestions?

  • Flash button script to control browser window

    I would like to open a browser window from a Flash button
    which will open my .swf into an html page with specific height and
    width with no tool bars just like: the "click here for demo" button
    in www.teachingtextbooks.com. It opens a window with no tool bars
    and it fits the .swf file perfectly. I see javascript in the html
    page that looks like it is part of the script however I am assuming
    their is script on the button as well.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Green

    Thank you for your help on this. I copy and pasted your code
    (on the button and I rec'd 2 errors. I copied and pasted here. I
    will put the code on the frame if I can get this working.
    **Error** Symbol=premier_mc, layer=angelmovie, frame=151:Line
    2: ')' or ',' expected
    getURL("javascript:YourWindow=window.open("
    http://www.google.com",'YourWindow','width=850,height=650,left=0,top=0,toolbar=No,location =No,scrollbars=No,status=No,resizable=No,fullscreen=No');
    YourWindow.focus(); void(0);");
    **Error** Symbol=premier_mc, layer=angelmovie, frame=151:Line
    3: Unexpected '}' encountered
    Total ActionScript Errors: 2 Reported Errors: 2
    Frame 151 is where the button is and there is only 3 lines of
    code in the Action Script panel. Any idea why I am getting the
    error. I won't have to add code to the html page?
    Thank you.

  • When I have multiple browser windows open - but in the "minimized" mode - and I want to open up one of them for viewing, ALL of the windows automatically open as well. How do I prevent this annoying function. I cannot find it anywhere in the options.

    This does not appear to be a system issue, but rather a functional aspect of the browser windows. E.g., if I have 7 browser windows open to different sites... and all are Minimized, and I decide to open one to study, THEY ALL POP OPEN automatically. I am using Firefox v3.6.8 on Windows 7. This is an annoying behavior of the browser, and I am sure it can be somehow "turned off" but cannot determine how to do that. I have looked through all options. I am not a techie, but have reasonable proficiency with software apps.

    This can happen if you drag a tab slightly down in the browser window while clicking.
    Firefox has a feature called tear-off tabs
    You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.
    You can also do this via the right-click context menu of a tab: Move to New Window
    You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.

  • Since the last upgrade, FF no longer runs on my laptop! I get the crash report box but it never restarts upon pressing that option. I can't try the safe mode or the other self-help options because no FF browser window opens.

    FF worked fine before I accepted the latest update just a few days ago. My friend who lives far away said that she also has problems since the upgrade. When I click on the thumbnail to open FF no window opens, all I see is the crash report. Without the window I can't try the self-helps or give a crash ID (from what I understand from reading the options). None of the options in the crash report restore the browser. When I click on one, the box just pops right back up.
    Other than general slowness of my system and some possible hacking which got someone into my paypal account this week, I've had no other computer issues. (I've changed my email address with PP & changed my email passwords in case someone is accessing my machine through my email...I'm not very computer literate...I don't believe this can happen, yet no other options were presented).
    Because my friend also experienced this crash issue I think this is totally related to the upgrade & what ever it did to my computer such that FF no longer loads.
    Please give me steps to fix this issue without FF running--all the self-help techniques seem to assume that I can run FF, get a browser window, utilize the links therein. I can't get a window open at all!

    YAY!! I have Safe mode!!
    um, now what?

    You can look this extension if you want to sign on with different identities at the same time:
    * Multifox: http://br.mozdev.org/multifox/
    You can also use multiple profiles to rule out issues caused by extensions or other changes that you've made in your current Firefox profile as posted above.

    Mani L

    Hi Mani,
    The A tag using the MailTo: can only work with a client mail program. There's no way to send an e-mail from the server using it.
    You can specify Subject and Body texts within the A tag, but you cannot specify the from and to addresses.
    In order to send e-mail from the server, you'd need to use either an app-part or custom web part. I don't think you can do it through CSOM.
    Paul.
    EDIT: It looks like you can do it through C# CSOM, but that would require an AppPart. I can't see SendEmail in any of the JavaScript based CSOM files.

  • Dialog control flow case not opening in new browser window

    Hello -
    Using JDev 11gR1.
    I have a page fragment that contains a table of command links like so:
            <af:commandLink text="#{row.id}" id="cl2"
                            action="#{reportRunnerBean.runReportAction}"
                            useWindow="true" windowHeight="500" windowWidth="500">
              <f:param value="#{row.id}" name="reportId" id="p2"/>
            </af:commandLink>the runReportAction method returns the String: "dialog:runReport"
    in my page flow, the page fragment has a control flow case with the outcome "dialog:runReport" that leads to a URL View with the URL setting set to #{pageFlowScope.reportUrl}
    (the reportRunAction places a string in page flow scope with the key of "reportUrl". in case it matters, the url is external to the application)
    When I click on the link, I am directed to the correct URL. However, it does not open in a new browser window - it takes up the main browser window.
    Is there something obvious that I am doing wrong?
    Thank you for reading this,
    -- Scott

    Well, I couldn't figure out why the dialog wasn't working correctly, so I changed my page to use a server listener to handle the logic I wanted and just used af:goLink instead of a command link. That command link above became:
              <af:goLink text="#{row.id}" id="gl1"
                         destination="#{row.reportUrl}"
                         targetFrame="_blank">
                <af:clientAttribute name="reportId" value="#{row.id}"/>
                <af:clientListener method="logReport" type="click"/>
                <af:serverListener type="LogReportEvent"
                                   method="#{reportListBean.logReportInvocation}"/>
              </af:goLink>with the following client listener:
        <af:resource type="javascript">
          function logReport(evt) {
              var component = evt.getSource();
              var reportIdParam = component.getProperty("reportId");
              AdfCustomEvent.queue(component,
                                   "LogReportEvent",
                                   { reportId: reportIdParam}, false);
        </af:resource>and code in the bean:
        public void logReportInvocation(ClientEvent clientEvent) {
                String reportId =
                    (String)clientEvent.getParameters().get("reportId");
                //...do something w/reportId here...
        }Thanks to anyone who took the time to read this.

  • Controlling the appearance of a new browser window coming from a weblink

    Hello all,
    I have a weblink. When the end user clicks on the web link a new browser window opens up.
    I would like to be able to control the appearance of the new browser window. I want to be able to hide url address bar, tool bar and all menus.
    Is there a way to do this by editing the weblink in CRM OnDemand ?
    Thanks,
    Trish.

    Trish, if it is possible it would need to be in the URL and I think you'll need to do a google search to find out how you pass IE attributes into a URL.
    cheers

  • Open Browser Window behaviour - no centering option

    Hi everyone,
    I used the Open Browser Window behaviour in Dreamweaver to
    open up a small browser window when a link is clicked, but the
    behaviour doesn't provide an option to position the window in the
    centre of the screen. Does anyone know if there's another behaviour
    that provides this option, or how to edit the javascript to get it
    to work?
    The code that Dreamweaver generated is below.
    Thanks for any help offered.

    DW doesn't offer this in any built-in function. You can
    manually hack the
    code inserted to produce that effect (you would have to
    Google to find the
    necessary changes), or you can use a 3rd party extension to
    do that and much
    more. I routinely use DivaPOP for things like this -

  • How do i control an external movie in a separate browser window?

    i am creating a website for a band, with an mp3 player. i
    want to be able to make an mp3 player that pops up in a separate
    browser window. the mp3 player would have a "playlist" that can be
    dynamically changed from the main window, which gives a list of
    albums & tracks to choose from. the model for this is
    Rhapsody's web interface.
    so, how would i go about creating & dynamically changing
    the playlist (while music is playing) across multiple browser
    windows? the "playlist" would be an array of references to mp3s, i
    guess-- so is there a way to pass events & variables across the
    windows?

    This URL has simple demo on LocalConnection.

  • When I'm in a Firefox browser window the screen info rolls up and down and doesn't respond to scroll bar control.

    This problem occurs intermmitently, but becomes more prevalent the longer I stay in the window and resumes when I move into another website. Occasionally, I seem to be able to stop the rolling by right-clicking the mouse while hovering the pointer arrow over the scroll bar. ost of the time I can not control the window roll, even with the scroll bar. If I exit Firefox and return, the problem ceases and then resues as before.

    Must be a problem with the graphics drivers or operating system.. Any other system malfunctioning reported ?
    If yes, kindly contact your system admin and format your OS...
    Must be a problem with compatibility, so please do the the above

  • Open Browser Window - Can't control Fx3 window size

    http://pacificwindshield.com/auto_windshield_replacement.html
    The Contact/Inquire button (upper right) opens a small form
    using DW's Open
    Browser Window behavior. I have set the window size to 400 X
    340. It works
    perfectly in IE6, but not in Fx3. There it opens to the

    window size.
    What do I need to change to make the form open at 400 X 340
    in Fx3?
    Thanks

    Thanks. I'll upgrade to SP3, don't know why my auto update
    didn't handle
    that already.
    I just checked and the window opens perfectly in Fx2.
    Interesting.
    Thanks again.

  • Hi...I can't get a new window to come up when I click on the + sign at the little tab on the right side of the existing browser window. I also can not get a new window to come up when I click on "Control + T". Any suggestions? Thanks!

    I would like to be able to open a new window by clicking on the little plus sign at the right side of the existing open browser window. I used to be able to do that and something unknown happened that has taken that ability away. Thanks!

    You need to access the router and change the wifi network name from the default which right now is the router name (linksys, netgear ect).
    You want to use WPA2 encryption and you want a password that for now is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. (no , in there). Put the same on the guest network.
    Don't setup the "N" network yet, just use the b,g,,n for now just to get it working.
    Save those settings on the left pane on the router page on the bottom.
    Go find the wireless with the name you put in, whatever you used.
    Settings, wifi
    Under choose a network the wifi you have just setup should be listed.
    If its not there do this
    Settings, cellular data.....is this an tion, is it on? Turn cellular data off if it's on. Then go back to settings, wifi and try that again.
