Create an Action: insert square box in the corner of the images

Hello!
I have a problem with the Actions of Photoshop, I wish you can help me: I need to put a square box (or a point, some kind of mark) in the corner of the bottom-left in hundreds of images, so I think an Action is the best way to do it but I don't know how can I do it, because I need that the mark can adapt itself to the size of each image: it have to be the 5% of the size of the original image.
I hope you can understand me, my English is not as good as it would be... thank you very much for your attention and your advice!

Thank you for your answer, that's exactly what I have done this morning in my job, but it have a problem that I don't know how to fix: the mark that I want to insert is not square, because if the image is very high, for example, the mark become a rectangle (not a square). Do you know how to fix this?

I have used part of an old script I made some time ago which was created to place a logo on another image.
Using this I can place a square box shape which is 5% of the longside dimension of an image in the bottom left corner. In the example shownbelow, the box solid black and is 50 pixels from bottom and side.
I used a rectangular shape layer for the box.
If this is anything like what might be useful to you, I can let you have a copy of the script. I can probably modify the script a little if this isn't exactly what you are looking for.

I need to create an action or script to save the file with the name of the selected layer (not including the hidden layers, but including those visible).
How could modify the script: 'Layer Comps To Files.jsx' to get the result?
Warning: I do not need to export all layers as files.

Spiego passo passo cosa ho fatto:
- Ho creato un file esempio con tre Livelli, salvato sulla scrivania e ho chiuso il file.
- Ho aperto il file e selezionato il Livello al centro per iniziare a registrare una azione che ho chiamato: Save with Name of Selected Layer
- Nuova azione
- Dare il nome e premere Registra
Ora salva…
- Menu --> Livello --> Nuovo --> Livello... e premi -ok-, (lascia il nome che viene mostrato)
- Ancora una volta Menu --> Livello... --> Nuovo --> Livello... e premi -ok-, (lascia il nome che viene mostrato)
- Menu --> Livello --> Ordina --> Dietro
- Menu --> Livello --> Unisci sotto
- Menu --> Livello --> Unisci visibili
- Menu --> Livello --> Nuovo --> Livello... e premi -ok-, (lascia il nome che viene mostrato)
- Menu --> Livello - Nascondi Livello
- Menu --> Elimina --> Elimina livelli nascosti (press -Yes-)
- Menu --> Livello --> Nuovo --> Livello... Inserisci questo: 'Move this to the trash' e premi ok

A questo punto, mandando in esecuzione questa Azione, ho raggiunto parzialmente l’obiettivo perché i file così creati mantengono, purtroppo, dei prefissi numerici per evitare probabilmente la sovrascrizione di file (credo senza avviso) nel posto dove vengono creati.
Per ottenere l’obiettivo occorre un nuovo passo ed a proposito di questo riferisco quanto segue:
ATTENZIONE - L’operazione descritta qui di seguito deve essere fatta su di una copia del file, per cui:
- Duplicare il file,
- Spostare l’originale in altra cartella
- Lavorare sul file duplicato.

Semplice per evitare errori di esecuzione delle azioni nel caso di operazioni con livelli mancanti o altro.

First of all, I'm translating the actions that I made using the Italian version of Photoshop, you look at the position of the menu that I have chosen to do the work with other languages.

- I created a sample file with three layers, saved to the desktop and I closed the file.
- I opened the file and select the layer at the center to start recording an action that I called: Save with Name of the Selected Layer
- New action
- Give the name and press Save ( I think it is so in English )
Now save ...
- Menu -> Layer - > New —> Layer… and press -ok- , (leave the name that is shown)
- Once again Menu -> Layer - > New —> Layer… and press -ok- , (leave the name that is shown)
- Menu -> Layer - > Arrange (order) -> Behind
- Menu -> Layer - > Merge Down
- Menu -> Layer - > Merge Visible
- Menu -> Layer - > New —> Layer… and press -ok- , (leave the name that is shown)
- Menu -> Layer - Hide Layer
- Menu - > Delete - > Delete hidden layers (press -Yes- )
- Menu -> Layer - > New —> Layer… Enter this: ' Move this to the trash ' and press ok
- Menu -> File - > Scripts -> Export Layers To Files... (In the window that opens select the option you want, but take away the name prefix) and press - Run -
- Select the History panel and click Delete (on menu opened) pressing -Yes- every time when open the dialog box (8 times Repeat this step until you get into the story to the starting condition. Not use Restore -F12-).
- Stop recording.
At this point, by executing this action, I have reached the goal partly because the files created in this way remain, unfortunately, the numerical prefixes to avoid possibly overwriting of files (I think without notice) in the place where they are created.
To achieve the goal we need a new step and thinking about this as follows:
WARNING - The operation described below should be made on a copy of the file, so :
- Duplicate the file
- Move the original folder to another
- Work on the duplicate file.
WARNING - This modification is performed at your own risk and the undersigned assumes no responsibility on what is done mostly by inexperienced hands.
WARNING - This change will overwrite any files with the same name as the selected layer plus the file extension of course.
However, the change is trivial and within reach of anyone.
Proceed as follows:
- Close Photoshop
- Open (in the specified path from the image ) file " Export Layers to Files.jsx " (Export Layers To Files.jsx 1.0.0.16) with a pure text editor.
- Search for the string (should be in line 1029 )

In one of the issue, in the output of all the reports customer is getting the few square boxes at the end of each page. How to remove these square boxes from the output,

you can try this :
go to report builder, open your rdf files, click properties, and find Report Escapes - After Page Value.
Remove the value there, save and re-run the report.

Does this happen everytime you restart your computer? Do you know when the box first appears?
It sounds like a process or background application is getting hung up somehow and is not closing.
If you know the application that generates the box, you can go into Task Manager (press CTRL + ALT + DEL and then select "Task Manager"). Once in TM, see if there are any applications or processes running that are associated with the Compaq box on the screen. Then end the application or process.
Once you find the application causing the issue, you can try to keep it from loading at startup using MSCONFIG (from the Run box on the Start menu).
Let us know how it goes.

Issue in rdf output --getting square boxes in the output

'Square box ' are getting printed in the output along with data.

Jana,
This is caused (as was said in one of the answers) by a frame of some kind which has a black outline. Run the Report from the Report Builder and look at the
previewer output. See where the box is in the output, go to it and change the outline to white.

What is the little square box in the string constant input?

Hello LabVIEW World -
I am attempting to understand a LabVIEW code that I did not write. At one point, there is a string (Equal?) comparison that is comparing a string from a VISA Read to a string constant input. The string constant has a little square box inside of it.
Does anyone know what this little square box is? (See attached screenshot)

When I place string constants like this I will display then either as hex or in the codes mode. Either of these will make the code more readable. Using the default ASCII string display is useless other than letting you know it is an unprintable character.

How to create an action that will crop two sections from one scanned image?

I'm trying to create an action that will automate the process of cropping the left and right pages from a series of two-page book scans.
I tried to create a 2 step action which first crops the left half of a scan (by setting the left margin to 0in and the right margin to 6in) and then the right half of the scan (by setting the left margin to 6in and the right margin to. 12in), however when executing, only the left half appears to be cropped.
I imagine this is due to the fact that once one side of the initial scan is cropped, the other side disappears.
Is there any way around this?

Basically i need to create a new document out of a folder full of images.
You may have to look into Scripting to achieve something like this.

But maybe it would suffice to insert the Menu Item
File – Scripts – Load Files into Stack
into the Action and then iterate through the Layers with [ or ] and reset the opacities and Blend Modes – but as Actions would not be able to change the number of repetitions of the operation conditionally a custom Script would still seem preferable.

Problem using text boxes as the "image" to drag and drop over audio file

I have been adding audio files to my page in iWeb (previous version, not '08), but I am having a problem giving them titles.
When you first drag a file from iTunes into iWeb, it provides a space for you to drag and drop a picture. The online iWeb guide also says that you can drag a text box there instead of a picture.
I created a text box with the text I would like to drop over the controller. However, it is no longer allowing me to drop the text box there. I used to be able to do this, and I don't know what I'm doing differently now. Any suggestions?

foobar2000 with the ipod plugin will allow you to drag/drop FLAC files and when it syncs the ipod, it converts the FLAC files on the fly. MUCH better than dealing with the crappy iTunes interface and having to pre-convert the files. I absolutely loathe iTunes and it just gets worse and worse!

Why can't I print embedded images in a Thunderbird E-mail? I just get blank boxes for the images.

I am a copyeditor who receives feedback from my clients re: manuscripts I have edited. They will often sent e-mails that include small screen captures from parts of their style guide or screen captures of the proof that is in question (small sections, like a paragraph or an equation, or a header that needs to be coded/styled differently for HTML). Now, I can see these fine in the e-mail, but when I go to print them out for my reference binder, the embedded images don't print.
Mozilla, I need these to print; they are quite important to my job.
To keep my e-mail from becoming too bloated, I save these important style issue e-mails into a folder on my desktop I call "Print out for binder", queuing them for the day I can print a bunch of them out and arrange them according to subject matter.
Problem is, they are useless if they don't include these illustrative screen captures; blank boxes are worthless to the context.
It is not my printer that is the problem. if I receive a Word doc with these screen captures, they print fine. But if I try to print from T-Bird, no go. Help. (I can't save these e-mails as Word docs either, which might solve the problem; the only options in T-Bird are "Save as file" or "Save as template".)
Thunderbird is a powerful e-mail program, and one I have been using for over a decade. Why can't it perform this function? Please help. Or point me to an add-on. I haven't been able to find one that addresses this seemingly straightforward, common, and simple problem.

When you select File(or AppMenu/Print)/Print Preview, do the images appear? Do the images print if you check 'Print background (colors & images)' under File/Page Setup? I don't have any problems printing a message with an embedded image, at least to an xps file.
I devised a workaround that might help, failing a real solution: install [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/unmht/ unMHT] in both TB and Firefox, and then File/Save As MHT in TB. Open the mht file in Firefox, and Print.

I have lightroom 5 when i cannot import my RAW images. When I tried a blank box for the images are there stating tha the preview for the image is unavailable

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It's probably quite simple, and nothing to do with your Address Book group.
It is a matter of 'junk mail' or 'spam' filtering on the recipient end, I think.
1. Apparently not everyone in your Address Book group (12 of 15 apparently?) has your current email address among their 'permitted email addresses', so, your original email message ends up in their 'junk mail' or 'spam filter' or whatever it is called by their email provider. Some businesses and schools also filter incoming messages for subject, language, content, or by sender's address (one company I dealt with prohibited all incoming email from Hotmail, for example), so it could be filtered at that level. In that case, the recipient might have to specifically ask the IT department to add your email address to a 'permitted' list.
2. When someone else in the group hits 'reply all', THEIR email address IS among the 'permitted email addresses' for everyone else, and they are in effect 'forwarding' your message from their email address, so the filtering affecting your email address does not affect their re-sending of your message.

Creating radio buttons and text box in the screen

I have to make these fields required and take the data back from the screen and write it in a file. The second thing that I have to do is to make radio buttons for the user to select whether he wants the file written on the application server or the presentation server. and process the report accordingly. Why form is creating a "memory" drop-down box in the PDF Form

I have created a form for someone using Adobe Acrobat CS4. While this doesn't happen when I use it on my computer, or even my work computer, apparently one of the end users, as they enter data into the form, it remembers previous information she had entered and gives her like a "memory" drop down box. She doesn't want that. How can I format it so it doesn't do that? Thank you.
