Deployment of Web Filters in CE 7.1

Hello everyone.
We are trying to deploy web filters for CE7.1 & add them to the /irj by editing the web.xml files manually on the file system (E:\usr\sap\CE1\J00\j2ee\cluster\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\web.xml).
This used to work on our NW7.0 systems but it does not apply here.
In NWA under u201Cconfiguration managementu201D u2013 u201Cinfrastructureu201D u2013 u201Capplication modulesu201D I canu2019t seem to find the place I can add the filters to the XML.
I couldnt find any documentation to how you do it in the 7.1 systems.
Please Help.
Yoav

Once again,
how to realize "Declarative Acces Control" for a Web Dynpro CE 7.1 application?
Any hints are highly appreciated!
Thanks,
Franz

  • Web filtering/monitoring

    Dear All,
    We have one customer they need web filtering and monitoring product. Please advice me what can be the best solution. They have around 300 users. Can we give them iron port or ASA.
    Your consideration in this regard will highly be commendable.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Malik

    Can you get away with whitelisting just the IP addresses and/or websites that your users need to visit? If so, you can probably use just your ASA. Otherwise you're going to want a good web filtering/proxy solution. Check out IronPort, Webwasher, Blue Coat, SurfControl, or even Squid (open source.)
    You can also tie the ASA directly into a filtering product like WebSense, check out the ASA documentation.
    When deploying a web filtering product you can either go "inline" or transparent by using WCCP redirection, but I'd suggest against it, since it breaks normal web browser behavior. Better option is to use WPAD (web proxy auto-detect) and have your browsers point-to and/or be explicitly configured to use the proxy.

  • Overly restrictive Web filtering

    During the day, I'm connected to the Internet behind a very restrictive content filtering appliance. I'd like the ability to simply check my .Mac email and my GMail accounts during lunch, but those sites are blocked.
    What I'm envisioning is using a Web browser at my office (MSIE or Firefox) to connect to a server at my home on port 80 or 443. (Obviously, I'd like my home server to require some kind of authentication to prevent abuse, etc.) My home server would fetch content on my behalf from these other services on whatever ports are necessary (probably 80, 443, etc.) and funnel them back to me.
    I think the answer to my question lies in running my own proxy server at home, but I'm not sure of what my options are. Has anybody out there done something similar to his? I'm hoping for some starting points at the very least.... Thanks!

  • Error While Deploying A Web Dynpro Appln thru NWDS

    HI,
    I am getting an error while deploying a Web Dynpro Application through NWDS.Following is the Exception

    regards

    Hi Nilesh,
           Try opening Visual Admin if your not able to login with username(administrator) and password. Problem with NWD2004s do the following steps.
    C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\configtool->configtool.bat->open it
    1. Click on Secure store
    2. Right you will find :
    admin/password/J2E->retype your admin passowrd which you gave during installation=>SAVE properly
    Restart the server and try login visual admin
           Deploy now...Other wise see this thread same error solved:

  • Error while deploying a web service whose return type is java.util.Date

    Hi
    I have written a simple web service which takes in a date input (java.util.Date) and returns the same date back to the client.
    public interface Ping extends Remote
    * A simple method that pings the server to test the webservice.
    * It sends a datetime to the server which returns the datetime.
    * @param pingDateRequest A datetime sent to the server
    * @returns The original datetime
    public Date ping(Date pingDateRequest) throws RemoteException;
    The generation of the Web service related files goes smoothly in JDeveloper 10g. The problem arises when I try to deploy this web service on the Oracle 10g (10.0.3) OC4J standalone. it gives me the following error on the OC4J console :
    E:\Oracle\oc4j1003\j2ee\home\application-deployments\Sachin-TradingEngineWS-WS\

    I read somewhere that the conversion between java to xml datatype and vice versa fails for java.util.Date, so it is better to use java.util.Calendar. When I change the code to return a java.util.Calendar then the JDeveloper prompts me the following failure:
    Method Ping: the following parameter types do not have an XML Schema mapping and/or serializer specified : java.util.Calendar.
    This forces me to return a String data.
    I would appreciate if someone can help me out.
    Thanks

    Datamatics Ltd.

    Hi
    I got the web service working with some work around. But I am not sure it this approach would be right and good.
    I started altogether afresh. I did the following step :
    1. Created an Interface (Ping.java) for use in web Service as follows :
    public interface Ping extends Remote{
    public java.util.Date ping(java.util.Date pingDateRequest)
    throws RemoteException;
    2. Implemented the above interface in PingImpl.java as follows :
    public class PingImpl implements Ping
    public java.util.Date ping(java.util.Date pingDateRequest) throws RemoteException {
    System.out.println("PingImpl: ping() return datetime = " + pingDateRequest.toString());
    return pingDateRequest;
    3. Compiled the above 2 java files.
    4. Generated a Stateless Java Web Service with the help of JDeveloper. This time the generation was sucessful.(If I had "java.util.Calendar" in place of "java.util.Date" in the java code of the above mentioned files the web service generation would prompt me for error)
    5. After the generation of Web Service, I made modification to the Ping interface and its implementing class. In both the files I replaced "java.util.Date" with "java.util.Calendar". The modified java will look as follows :
    Ping.Java
    =========
    public interface Ping extends Remote{
    public java.util.Calendar ping(java.util.Calendar pingDateRequest)
    throws RemoteException;
    PingImpl.Java
    ================
    public class PingImpl implements Ping
    public java.util.Calendar ping(java.util.Calendar pingDateRequest) throws RemoteException {
    System.out.println("PingImpl: ping() return datetime = " + pingDateRequest.toString());
    return pingDateRequest;
    6. Now I recompile both the java files.
    7. Withour regenerating the Web Service I deploy the Web Service on OC4j 10.0.3 from JDeveloper. This time the deployment was sucessful.(The Deployment fails if I don't follow the step 5.)
    8. Now I generated a Stub from JDeveloper and accessed the stub from a client. It works fine. Here if you see the Stub code it takes java.util.Date as a parameter and returns a java.util.Date. (Mind you I am accepting a java.util.Calendar and returning the same in my Web Service interface. Step 5)
    The confusing thing is the Serialization and Deserialization of Data from Client java data to Soap message and Soap message to Server java data.
    From Client to SOAP :
    java.util.Date to datetime
    From SOAP to Server :
    datetime to java.util.Calendar
    From Server to SOAP :
    java.util.Calendar to datetime
    From SOAP to Client :
    datetime to java.util.Date (I am not able to understand this part of the conversion)
    Any help or inputs would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sachin Mathias

    Amr Azim,
    You must have logged in thru a dedicated connection to any server through say VPN before deploying.This way the sdm uses the same login as that of already establised connection.
    So 'sign of'  all connections to any servers before deploying and redeploy your application.Here you will be prompted to supply the sdm password and deployment shall proceed.

    Hi,
    Could not diagonise from this stack trace alone. But what doubt is that there is something wrong with cardinality in your web service. Otherwise something may have gone wrong like you mishandling a list or some mismatch like that.

  • Error auto-deploying a Web App (.WAR file)

    Hello,
    Weblogic 6.1 throws a FileNotFoundException about 10% of the time for me when
    auto-deploying a Web app. Has anyone else run into this? I searched the newsgroups
    but didn't come up with anything, so I thought I'd start here.
    My build/deploy cycle is managed by an Ant build file that creates a WAR file
    of my web application and then drops it into $WL_HOME/config/mydomain/applications.
    Occasionally when I do this, I get the error shown below. Originally I was building
    the WAR file right in the ../applications directory, so I thought that might be
    an issue. So, I started building the WAR file in a staging directory and copying
    it into ../applications. No luck. Next, I tried deleting the original WAR file
    from ../applications, and THEN copying the new one over from the staging directory.
    Still fails occasionally.
    Let's see. This is Weblogic 6.1 on Win2K. The only other thing is that my dev/build/staging
    environment is on a network share, and it's from there that I'm copying the WAR
    file to my local machine (where WL is running).
    If someone has seen and/or knows what is up with this, great. If not, it's not
    a show-stopper.
    Thanks!
    Cheers,
    David

    Michael,
    This is a problem with 6.1 SP2 also -- a very annoying error. Without auto deploy
    working properly, developers are spending alot of time waiting for WebLogic to restart.
    HELP!!! we need this fixed.

    Hi,
    As you said you could do it at the report level and also at the universe level.
    One more way is to create the filters in the universe levele and add them in thequery filter.
    Ex: in the filter you need to write :
    Column1 is null and and column 2 is not null etc.
    Hope this will help.
    If this did't  solve your problem then please explain it in detail.
    Cheers,

  • Problems about deploying Oracle web application (Forms, Reports)

    I am going to deploy Oracle web applications (Forms and Reports) and plan to use the same server machine for both Application web server and Database server.
    1. How can I enable SSL (for data encryption) on Application web server for Oracle Forms ?
    2. Since both Application web server and Database server will use the same machine, do I still need Oracle Advanced Security for data transmission between Application web server and Database server if data encryption for transmission is required ?
    3. Can I user Oracle Forms to call Oracle Report on web as I did in Client/Server in the past ?
    Experts like you may have come across such problems. Would you please give me some opinions/ideas ?
    Regards,
    Richard

    1. check the paper about the Forms servlet architecture on otn forms section for SSL tips.
    3. Check the reports and forms integration paper on otn too.

  • JBO-33001 bc4j.xcfg CLASSPATH problem in deployed java web service

    Hi
    I have deployed a web service that uses a simple java class to update some BC4J EO's.
    I have included the deployed jar files in the OC4J Classpath.
    I have also deployed the web service to the application server.
    I then call the web service from BPEL.
    During the web service call, I'm getting the following exception:
    exception on JaxRpc invoke:
    start fault message:
    oracle.jbo.ConfigException: JBO-33001: Cannot find the configuration file /cb/test/peoplebc/common/bc4j.xcfg in the classpath at oracle.jbo.client.Configuration.loadFromClassPath(Configuration.java:367)
    I've checked that the file is deployed in the MiddleTier jar file, so not sure what to do.
    Any ideas most appreciated.
    Cheers
    Chris

    Hi,
    This may sound a bit stupid, but as a quick and dirty solution i just copied the common directory with the bc4j.xcfg file where it is looking for it. This makes it at least work. Any updates to the xcfg file done will of course not be reflected.

  • How to deploy a web service on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2?

    Hi everyone,
    I followed the instructions of the following link to create a web service using jDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2. [http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/jdev/obe1013jdev/10131/devdepandmanagingws/devdepandmanagingws.htm#t1]
    The web service created was deployed & used with no errors on the standalone OC4J instance.
    But my goal is to deploy my web service on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2.
    So after several attempts, I was able to deploy it on the Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 but unfortunately I didn't know the URL needed to use the web service.
    I tried the following link (http://192.168.0.91:18100/JavaWebService-GetDates-context-root/GetDatesWSSoapHttpPort) but also didn't work :(
    I also tried converting to J2EE 1.3 and still not knowing how to access the web service.
    Please advice with a solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Lana

    Thanks everyone for your help :)
    The problem turned out to be that Oracle application server 10.1.2 is unlike the others servers, it uses 2 ports:
    - port (19100) is dedicated for the console.
    - port (7779) is to view your applications.
    So the URL needed turned out to be "http://acteos-109.beirut.acteos:7779/beanTest" instead of "http://acteos-109.beirut.acteos:18100/beanTest"
    Hope this info is useful
