Differences between PDF folios and PNG/JPG ones?

Would anyone be able to quickly summarise the subtle differences (apart from having the option to enable pinch/zoom) between these folio types. I have a multi-folio app on Newsstand which uses JPG folios but am keen to switch to PDF for the next issue. We use all overlay types and want to target problems early! Thanks

Here are the differences between PDF and JPG/PNG articles that I'm aware of:
* PDF is not supported for Smooth Scrolling articles, even if you specify the PDF image format. For memory reasons, JPG or PNG is used instead. Enabling PDF for Smooth Scrolling articles is on the roadmap.
* It sometimes takes a moment for a PDF article to come into focus, especially on the iPad 1. With iOS 5.1, this load delay is rare, at least in my experience.
* PDF articles are not supported on Android devices. If a folio includes a single PDF article, it won't load in the viewer on a mobile device.
* Pages in PDF articles can pinch & zoom if enabled in Viewer Builder.
* The thumbnail previews of PDF articles do not appear in the Folio Producer Editor.
* Overlays should look and function the same whether PDF, JPG, or PNG. When you zoom in on an overlay in a PDF article, pixelation might be noticeable, but that's expected.

Things that are not included, with no choice in the dialog box:
Visible Guides/Grids, Hidden and Non-Printing Layers, Hidden and Non-Printing Objects, Marks & Bleeds, No Ink Manager or Simulate Overprint options.
Things that you can choose:
Security Settings, Embed Page Thumbnails, Create Tagged PDF, Create Acrobat Layers, Initial View, Initial Layout, Open in Full Screen Mode, Page Transitions, Image compression and resolution.
Other:
Fonts: Subset 100%
Color Conversion: Destination
Destination: sRGB
Profile Inclusion Policy: Include Destination Profile

And lastly, Compatibility is set to Acrobat 9 (PDF 1.7). This last point is important, and largely explains the main reason we split Interactive PDF out as a separate export choice from Print PDF. When you export an interactive PDF from CS5, included media is now written out to the Rich Media Annotation Layer, which means this content is played back via the embedded Flash Player within Acrobat Pro 9 or Adobe Reader 9 or higher. In previous versions, this content was written out to the Screen Annotation Layer, which meant this content was played back via QuickTime. This has been a long-standing headache for end users as playback across platforms was often inconsistent, would frequently break when Apple updated QuickTime, etc.
Lastly, if you want to include rich media in your interactive PDFs (SWFs, audio and video), the only formats supported if you want to target Adobe PDF (Interactive) are MP3 for audio and FLV for video. Other file formats will need to be converted to these formats before you export to Interactive PDF. For video files, you’ll be able to convert to FLV with Adobe Media Encoder. For audio files, you can use any number for free audio conversion tools, including iTunes.

Differences between old JavaFX and the new one: some questions

I'm coming back to my JavaFX studies after 2/3 months and I see that some things are different.. Now, I have some questions:
1) I see that javafx.ui was deprecated or rewritten in favor of javafx.ext.swing. Why there are a javafx.application.Frame and a javafx.ext.swing.SwingFrame? Which one should I use?
2) Neither javafx.application.Frame or SwingFrame has the "*undecorated*" attribute that javafx.ui.Frame has. I got this feature only reimplementing createWindow() function like this:

The new ones will be substantially faster than yours because it has 8-cores instead of four, a faster Frontside Bus, and faster RAM speed.
You could use the same RAM, but since the new ones can accommodate a faster RAM module you would cause the machine to run slower by using the slower RAM from your old machine.
You can use the same hard drives since both machines support SATA drives.
On the other hand you could just be happy with what you have! It's probably more than you need.

Difference between PDF user's password and PDF owner's password?

What is the difference between PDF user's and owner's passwords? When creating a document, which one to use?

The user password, if set, is what you need to provide in order to open a PDF. Acrobat/Reader will prompt a user to enter the user password. If it's not correct, the document will not open.
The owner password, if set, controls permissions, such as printing, editing, extracting, commenting, etc. Acrobat/Reader will disallow these things based on the permission settings. Acrobat will require this password if you want to set/change permissions.

In my case: 1-2 days transactional data are more than 3-4 Millions. I tried using both # and table variable and found table variable is faster.
Is that Table variable using Memory or Disk space?

Performance wise if you are dealing with millions of records then TempTable is ideal, as you can create explicit indexes on top of them. But if there are less records then TableVariables are good suited.
On Tables Variable explicit index are not allowed, if you define a PK column, then a Clustered Index will be created automatically.
But it also depends upon specific scenarios you are dealing with , can you share it?

Hi Salaam,
Statistical Key Figure (SKF) is a base to allocate the cost between cost centers. Usually, common cost centers cost should allocate to respective department cost centers on monthly basis.
Some of SKFs are: Calculating floor rent on SFT, Telephone charges on No. of units, and employees head count is with "Each" in SAP.
Apart from Ajay's reply, you can consider the Canteen exp in an organization. Assume Admin, Fin and Mfg departments are getting food services from Canteen. Here, total monthly cost of Canteen exp should be allocated to respective departments. Here, we use SKF as total head count of each department and distribute the cost.
Planned SKF is what you planned on the beginning of a period. (Assume head count was planned as 30 in the month beginning)
Actual SKF is what exactly you consumed over the period. (Actual employees provided canteen services during the month is 25)

In Non-cummulative method your stock movements are stored in the cube (inflow and outflow of NC KF) and the Total stock is calculated during query execution. Hence if there are lot of movements in the stock for the period you want to report on, query will take long time to execute.
In case of Snap shot scenario Stock movements are not loaded to cube. you use ODS to load the status of the stock and then from ODS you can load to Cube once in a month. So only summarized data will be availabe in Cube. Reporting will be fast.

Easily and accurately select portions of your photos using this new tool in either Standard Edit and Quick Fix. Simply scribble or place dots on the object you want to select -no need to precisely outline the object- and Adobe Photoshop Elements selects the object for you. You can add to or subtract from the selection by using additional tools in the options bar. (See User Guide "To use the Magic Selection Brush tool" on page 193.)
1.1.2 Magic Extractor.
Easily select an object in a photo and extract it from its background. Just scribble or place dots on
the object you want to extract; then scribble or place dots on the background, and Photoshop Elements separates the object from its background. This tool is perfect for creating composites or scrapbook images. (See User Guide "To use the Magic Extractor" on page 194.)
1.1.3 Skin tone adjustment
Click an area of skin and watch the tonal balance of all colors in the photo improve. If you
want, you can also manually adjust the color by using color sliders. (See User Guide "To adjust the color of skin tone" on page 224.)
1.1.4 Red eye removal
Automatically remove red eye during import, or select one or more files and easily remove red eye
in either the Organizer or the Editor. (See User Guide "To remove red eye" on page 249.)

1.1.6 Straighten tool
Straighten and crop crooked photos by drawing a horizontal or vertical line in the image. Photoshop

If you have Windows¨ XP Media Center 2005 installed, you can view your Photoshop Elements

1.3.1 Face tagging
Select a group of photos and let Photoshop Elements isolate and display all the faces so that you can

1.3.2 Search by metadata
Search for a variety of metadata criteria, such as file name, file type, shutter speed, camera

Manage and tag PDF files in the Organizer. PDF files remain intact as one file that you can tag. Open

Freely change image size boundaries while cropping an image. When you're happy with your crop marks,
