how to change table header name at runtime ?
for instance, when i bind to a dataNode with this attribute:
smsid, usrid, crdate, stdate,enddate
change to
message_id, user_id, create_date, start_date, end_date during runtime.

To change the column header for each field you have to set the [Caption-Header] text value.
Use this code inside "wdDoModifyView" method.

I am in situation where customer wanted to keep their own journal header naming conventions to imported journals in Oracle GL for custom Journal sources.
As I know while importing journals, Oracle Creates the Journal Name based on the below mentioned logic.
"Journal Import creates a default journal entry name using the following format:
(Optional User-Entered REFERENCE4)(Category Name)(Currency)
(Currency Conversion Type, if applicable)
(Currency Conversion Rate, if applicable)
(Currency Conversion Date, if applicable) (Encumbrance Type ID, if applicable)
(Budget VersionID, if applicable). If you enter a journal entry name,
Journal Import prepends the first 25 characters of your journal entry name to
the above format"
But then How it is possible to only allow journal header Name to be used present in REFERENCE4 excluding all other string provided by Oracle? Instead of using omitted string custmoer wanted to keep their own parameters. Example - REFERENCE4.A.B.C etc.
Is it possible to solve this using seeded setup or modifying some hook packages or anything else?
As far as I know there can be one workaround to be use of updating journal header name after journal import being completed successfully for custom journal source. But only fear is Oracle doesnt allow updating the base table without API. Am I rght?
So it would be really great if anyone of you can suggest the best solution or best possible workaround.

Dynamically changing the flatfile name..

Hi friends,
I 'm Getting data from 30 Flat files...all are with same structure but different data.. .. all these files are now in Application server...
now i want to upload data into with a single DataSource and to ODS with process chains..
so, how can i dynamically change the file name in Data Source level.. i saw previous threads.. in that.. through Routines.. we can solve this problem.. but I dont know ABAP code... so, can any one plz give me the exact code.. what i have to write...exact coding..

 I already post this question in forums.... but evry one gave different options.. some one gave the function module..
BAPI_IPACK_CHANGE and BAPI_IPACK_START.
and some one gave other function module.. like .. EPS_GET_DIRECTORY_LISTING
i tryd for All these options.. but i'm not getting the exact solution... even i'm unable to pass the parameters also.. beacuse.. in that function what parameters can i pass....

for the above requirement i had write the bellow coding in the routine.. it is working.. but the problem is.. it was loading only the last file..(30 th file data only..)
data : z1(50) type c,
 z2 type c,
 z3(50) type c,
 z4(50) type c.
 Z2 = 1.
 Do 5 times.
 z1 = 'C:\Documents and Settings\e10035\Desktop\'.
 z3 = '.csv'.
 concatenate z1 z2 z3 into z4.
 p_filename = z4.
 z2 = z2 + 1.
 Enddo.
SO, CAN YOU PLZ SUGGEST ME.. when ever the file name was changing in the loop.. that automatically should load into the PSA ..

Dynamically change table selecting from

in 3.2 on 11g database is there a way to dynamically change the table used in a select statement for an interactive report? I have a series of similar tables, one for each month of the year. I want to click a month on one page and bring up a report from the table for that month. I want to use one page for this report and have all links from previous page link to the same page, just different result based on what month was clicked.
I know I could just setup 12 different reports and conditionally display each region based on a value passed to the that page, but I'd prefer to only create one page & one report on that page.

Your function will have the code dynamically built.. What you do is you build your sql and pass in the table name and any other items that will change based upon your requirements..
here is an example...

Dynamically changing table headers

I already know the answer to this since I have spent couple of days previously trying to make this work but thought of putting this on the forum either way.
Has anyone sucessfully been able to create dynamically changing headers before using a date column "MONYY"? Requirement is that the user is given a prompt selector for "MONYY" and the table will have values for "MONYY + and - 2 months". This "+ and -" 2 months needs to be dispayed as table headers
E.g. User selects NOV12 and the table header needs to show "SEP12 Sales, OCT12 Sales, NOV12 Sales, DEC12 Sales, JAN13 Sales"
I have tried everything possible by using the presentation variable in all sorts of functions, trying to pass a variable to a hidden prompt that automatically refreshes on a prompt application. This has been tawing with me and I want to put it to rest knowing that it cannot be acheived.

It can't. At least not in that way. You could put the value (retrieved from a column or a varaible, your choice) into a column formula though and put it as a table section. Not the same as column headers, I know, but may be worth proposing as a workaround.

OBIEE 10g AGO Function Dynamically Change the Heading

I created columns in my rpd named Sales Previous Month, Sales 2 months ago and Sales 3 months ago using the AGO Function. This is working fine.
My problem is when displaying these headings the users would like to see the Month Name instead of the Headings I created. For example if looking at a report for January the users would like to see:
Sales Previous Month = December
Sales 2 Months ago = November
Sales 3 Months ago = October
Is there any way to dynamically change the value of the column header to show the name of the month?

Thanks for the reply. I have found that I might haven't created the relationship between dimension and fact tables correctly.
I initially created the foreign key relationship (instead of creating complex join) in physical diagram between the dimension and fact table. And the relationship type is hence greyed out.
I have deleted the foreign key relationship in physical diagram. Then
1. In physical diagram, create complex join between dimension and fact . The relationship is 'inner' and can't be changed.
2. In Logical table diagram, create foreign key between dimension and fact . The relationship can be changed (inner, outer, etc).
Is this the correct way?
I tried these on two newly created dummy tables and it worked.

I have two main requirements with respect to WD ABAP - ALV report creation
1) Two feilds in the header of ALV GRID created in the WD ABAP screen must be merged as shown below(Month Column) ,

2) The header value(Month) should dynamically change based on the current date.
For Eg: If June 2011 is the current month , the ALV table should start from June 2011 and displayed till May 2012.

Dynamically change column heading without Dashboard Prompt

Hi All,
My requirement is change the column heading dynamically in a report. I have achieved this through setting the presentation variable to the dashboard prompt.
I have 5 columns in the dashboard prompt. Out of these 5 columns, I want to use only 1 column as dashboard prompt.
But still I want to dynamically change the column heading of the other 4 columns based on the only 1 column selected in the dashboard prompt.
Is there anyway to achieve this?

You need to have some logic to change other 4 columns based on 1 selected column.. where you want put that logic?

Powershell: How to change the header name in a imported CSV file

I have a csv file in which I want to change the headers names in powershell.
oldnames are name,id
newnames I want to give are: company and transit respectively.
Following is what I wrote in script:
           $a = import-csv .\finalexam\employees.csv -header name,id'
                   foreach ($a in $as[1-$as.count-1]) // I used 1 here because I want it to ignore the exiting headers.
                  { $_.name -eq company, $_.id -eq transit}
I think this not entirely correct way to do this. Can someone show me how to fix this.

Dynamically changing the file name using the submit button

I am currently using a submit button to send information to myself from the user of the form. Is there any way to change the name of the file that is emailed as a .pdf file according to some type of parameter or data set that is collected in the form?

Not programmatically. The attachment wil take the same name as the opened PDF. If you change the name of the PDF then it will change your form name as well. That cannot be done programmatically.

Dynamically change JTable header

Hi to all,
I was reading this topic regarding column spaning (Groupable Header) which was very helpful to what i wanted to do.
Although, i am facing a problem while trying to change the header value according to the value of a combo box.
I don't need to change the header value of the individual columns but the value of the groupable header.
Has anybody have tried something similar ?

Problem has been resolved.
I have modified the 'addColumnGroup(ColumnGroup g)' of the class 'GroupableTableHeader.java' in order to empty the ColumnGroup vector before adding a new group.

Field/Table to change the header tick in sales order billing plan

I am using a GUI screen to create standard sales order (VA01). Since my order dates at header and line item level can differ, i want the field name or table name of the header tick which is taken as default from my billing plan in my sales order.
Or is there any setting where my billing plan at item level is not defaulted from my header.
Its really urgent. Would appreciate your reply.

Hi Ravi,
I'm unsure whether this will help you or not. In VOV7, choose your It Cat, in detailed screen of It Cat settings there's a checkbox with "Business data" when not checked which will allow you to change Data at Item level.

Dynamically change the column name....

Hi,
I am facing a problem in displaying name of the columns dynamically as a parameter selected from the dashboard prompt.
I have some facts which contains data according to the selected month (From Prompt).
As of now the column names are:
Curr, Next1, Next2, Next3 which displays the data for the months accordingly to the selected month from prompt.
Data is coming correctly but on the report the column name are displayed as Curr, Next1, Next2 and Next3 which I want to be displayed as the month name for which it contains data.
How can I do that? I have tried presentation variables to be used in custom heading but that is only as string.

My scenario is little different, let me explain:
My columns will remain same but values changes (based on column formula) according to the selected prompt value
If I select 'Oct' from prompt then
Curr will contain data for 'Oct' only
Next1 will contain data for 'Nov' only
Next2 will contain data for 'Dec' only
Next3 will contain data for 'Jan' of next year only.
Later if I select 'Jul' from prompt then
Curr will contain data for 'Jul' only
Next1 will contain data for 'Aug' only
Next2 will contain data for 'Sep' only
Next3 will contain data for 'Oct' only.
I don't have different columns for each months but the columns are capable to reflect data for any month.
So, how can I reflect the column name as month name for which that contains data.

Hi Arun,
As far as I know, you cannot change the page heading (if you are referring to the heading on the IE window) dynamically, as it is the name of your application.
However, you can use a PageHeader UI Element (at the top in ur RootUIElementContainer) and bind the 'title' property to an attribute in your context. You can change this attribute, depending on any events that occur.
