EBusiness 11i interface to Click Commerce-WMS (Oracle DB 8.1.7.4)

Hello there,
We are implementing Oracle ERP and need to interface it to our third party WMS system (Click Commerce back end Oracle DB 8.1.7.4).
Currently we are using an in-house build ftp application to download/upload text files between our legacy ERP system (to be replaced by Oracle ERP) and WMS.
I heard about all kind of interfaces but can't really say which one is appropiate for our environment.
Any advice would be helpfull.
Thanks,

dbconsole is new feature in 10g.
Before 10g, you have java based dbastudio or so. I am not 100% if 8.1.7.4 has it but the functionality and performance of java version is pretty lame.
It's never gain the popularity as dbconsole after 10g.
run
oemapp
to check if you have it on 8.1.7.4
Other than that, you really need to consider upgrade your DB now.

  • Jdbc oci interface and xdb API for oracle 9.2.0.7

I have a Java application that uses the jdbc oci interface to connect to an Oracle database and insert some XML into an XMLType column using the XDB APIs provided in xdb.jar.
OS : IBM AIX version 5.1
JVM : IBM 32-bit SDK pour AIX, Java 2 Technology Edition, version 1.4.2

    xdb.jar
    xmlparserv2.jar
    libocijdbc9.so
with Oracle 9.2.0.1 the application worked correctly. However we have just upgraded from Oracle 9.2.0.1 to Oracle 9.2.0.7 and now the JVM crashes when the XMLType.createXML(java.sql.Connection, java.lang.String) API is called. The error message is :

Does anyone have any ideas? Changing the version from 9.2.0.7 is not an option.
    Thanks,
    Dave Gosling.

The 9.2.0.5 patchset, and all patchsets, are available for download from Metalink.
There should be a rather large variety of JDBC drivers that will connect to an 9.2.0.5 database if that's what you're asking about.

  • Copper cable / GigE Copper Interface as Private Interconnect for Oracle RAC

    Hello Gurus
Can some one confirm if the copper Cables ( Cat5/RJ45) can be used for Gig Ethernet i.e. Private interconnects for deploying Oracle RAC 9.x or 10gR2 on Solaris 9/10 .
i am planning to use 2 X GigE Interfaces (one port each from X4445 Quad Port Ethernet Adapters) & Planning to connect it using copper cables ( all the documents that i came across is been refering to the fiber cables for Private Interconnects , connecting GigE Interfaces , so i am getting bit confused )
would appretiate if some one can throw some lights on the same.
    regards,
    Nilesh Naik
    thanks

Cat5/RJ45 can be used for Gig Ethernet Private interconnects for Oracle RAC. I would recommend trunking the two or more interconnects for redundancy. The X4445 adapters are compatible with the Sun Trunking 1.3 software (http://www.sun.com/products/networking/ethernet/suntrunking/). If you have servers that support the Nemo framework (bge, e1000g, xge, nge, rge, ixgb), you can use the Solaris 10 trunking software, dladmin.
We have a couple of SUN T2000 servers and are using the onboard GigE ports for the Oracle 10gR2 RAC interconnects. We upgraded the onboard NIC drivers to the e1000g and used the Solaris 10 trunking software. The next update of Solaris will have the e1000g drivers as the default for the SUN T2000 servers.

  • Best way to Clone 11i on Linux w/o any Oracle SW on target.

    Hi,
I have an instance of BS 11.5.10.2 on Linux 4.6 (Single Node) stage. I have another Linux box stage which also has HEAL 4.6 which don't have any kind of oracle software. But both system has same oracle/capping users, file systems, host configuration and OS RPM.
I want to setup stage box as an test instance for stage. In order to clone the 11.5.10.2 from stage to stage, do I need to install any Oracle software to perform cloning. What would be the best way to clone 11.5.10.2 ; in this scenario?
    Thanks
    Samar

You do not need to install any Oracle software before cloning, but you need to install all pre-req. software and packages at the OS level before doing so. Rapid Clone will NOT take care of that, the OS at the source and the target nodes should be identical in terms of packages and pre-req. software. Moreover, make sure you have all software components installed as in Note: 230672.1 (Under "Section 1: Prerequisites").
For the list of pre-req. OS packages/patches and kernel settings, please refer to:

Can someone throw light on this? If someone has working sample of this, can you mail it to [email protected]?

    Nipun,
WebLogic and OC4J are not the same thing. That's like saying Oracle and SQL Server are the same thing -- or C++ and Java are the same thing.
I recall a posting to a forum (don't remember if it was this one), where the poster was complaining that some feature of the application server he had previously used, was not supported by OC4J. Turned out that the feature he was referring to, contradicted the J2EE specification -- which is why it wasn't available in OC4J. In other words, he didn't like the fact that OC4J was more compliant with the J2EE specification than his "other" application server. Go figure!
So, if you haven't already done so, I suggest you verify that this feature of WebLogic is something that complies with the J2EE specifications -- before expecting OC4J to support the same feature.
And if it's not clear, from the specifications, then every vendor is free to implement this feature (or not).
So if it turns out that WebLogic is a more appropriate application server for you -- then why not just stick with it (and forget the others)?
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Click Once and Oracle lite

I'm trying to determine whether Oracle Lite is appropriate for our application.
We're using Oracle on the back-end and would like to use Oracle Lite for disconnected operation on a Windows laptop. That's all fine, and it looks like the tables could sync properly.
The issue is with client app deployment. We're building a C#/WPF application that is going to be deployed using Click-Once from an IIS server.
We don't use Java anywhere. But, I see in the Oracle Lite documentation that win32 apps are packaged as .jar files! And, the mobile server expects to manage the deployment of the application. We really don't want that restriction on us.
Click-Once gives us everything that we would ever want for application, assembly, data files, etc... packaging, deployment, and versioning. So, we really don't want to use the Mobile Server to ship application components to the client.
Can we do this with Oracle Lite?

    Hi,
I would like to install Oracle 10g Lite in my Mobile Device(which has windows XP). Normally the mobile device will not have internet connection.
Whenever I need I have to connect and sync with external database with my Oracle 10g Lite database.
And I want to develop a custom application(prefered technology is ADF) and deploy the application in Oracle 10g Lite.
    Is it possible?
    Thanks.
    With Regards,
    Kali.

  • Having 2 small issues with 10.4.3 interface - shift click & control click

I am having two issues with 10.4.3 on my mom's computer.
    1) I Control-Click the mouse and I do get a shortcut menu on the desktop, on icons, etc. How can I get this back? I can not seem to find a preference that sets this.
    2) I am in iPhoto and would like to select multiple film rolls (consecutive rolls) by clicking the first and then clicking the last one that I would like and it is working like I am comand clicking and only selecting the two rolls that I have clicked on and not the ones in between.
Any help in how to work this out would be great.

Do you have any third-party items in:
    /Library/Contextual Menu Items/
    /Users/YourUsername//Library/Contextual Menu Items/
If you do, try dragging them onto your Desktop and then retry control-clicking.

  • OE and AR module, EBusiness 11i

I am creating Discoverer report that shows data across order management, account receivable and payments.
The client is using Oracle application and I am using the queries from the forms in OA to show the order lines, project number, invoices #, inv amount, customer, end user, sales agent, agent commission ... But I have some problems with data, so I have to find
some other way to join those tables/modules.
What is the best practice to join those modules, I need to join transaction and order lines to get the invoices, and payments ?? What are the columns that I can use for

  • Somebody accidently unplugged my External Hard drive from my computer without going to the interface and clicking on eject first. I got the whole "you may have data loose" message. How do I find out if I really lost any files?

That's pretty much it. Wanted to know if there is maybe a program or something that can let me know what the last things that got deleted is?

That is a general statement that is always made when any device is not ejected, not a specific one about your hard drive. All you can do is plug it back in and hope it works. There is good chance nothing will be lost.
There is no ready technique available to you to check the details of all of your files, you will just have to assume  they are all there.
Unplugging a drive like that without ejecting it is most likley to affect a file when it is still being written to such as a large (media) file that takes some time to write. If nothing was being written in that split second it was unplugged, it is highly likely nothing will be damaged or lost.
