ECC6 - additional 'Op. Equipment' tab in equipment record

We are using ECC6 - we have turned on all the enterprise extensions in the IMG; the Defense Forces and Public Security extension has created an additional tab, with the label "Op.. Equipment" in the equipment record, however there is no IMG activity that I can find that will allolw me to remove the tab from view. (and once the extension is activated it cannot be undone). Is there some means to hide or manage the contents of the tab as it is completely unnecessary for our Plant Maintenance implementation?

Just Check View Profile Assigned to Equipment category & Tabs mentioned in the View Profile for Equipment.
Check Spro - PMCS - Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service - Technical Objects - General data - Set View Profiles for Technical Objects
Check for Tabs mentioned in it , The Tab of Defence & Extra ur mentioning it will be available here
or Check Some tabs can be assigned to Object Type also , So once erase Object type in Equipment master & Check it.

Equipment records- where do they get the manufacturers information from?

If its from the material master (which i hope) what tab is it on etc as we have a bespoke tab that does it at the present but cant be pulled into the equipment record. We would like the data to autopopulate from the master item into the equipment record if possible.

You could use the same user exit IEQM0003 on SAVE of the equipment to read and make this update if its a normal equipment.If its a serialized equipment then you could use exit IQSM0005 to auto populate the same.

Equipment record address creation via function module

How can I populate an Equipment record's address via a function module? I'm referrring to the Address area of the Location tab in tcode IE02. BAPI_EQUI_CREATE works fine for the base data but has no address capabilities.

Yes it was ITOB410. I tried the lock_old parm without luck but was able to get around that problem with an explicit calll to FM EQUIPMENT_LOCK. However, I have a new problem with the FM.
The LOCK FM got rid of the BLOCKED issue. However, now an internal call from EQUIPMENT_MODIFY to EQUI_GET_SAVE_DATA is causing a short dump in include LITOBBUFEQF70 on:

How to handle equipment records relating to scrapped materials

When a specific material/serial number combination is scrapped off, at present we are marking the associated equipment records with inactive and deleted. This geta bit confusing with other records that may get marked as inactive for other reasons. How does anyone else handle it? At pressent we dont have a scrapped status.
Should storemen have tha ability to mark the records as deleted or should our master data team do that.

Change Document for IH08 (Equip Record)

Hello,
I need to track some specific fields for the equipment record (EQUI) that changes over time. We are currently using Change Documents (CDHDR & CDPOS) in order to achieve this (it worked with the majority of the fields).
We have been told that we also need to track when an equipment change it status, for instance, the equipment has change from Active (ACTV) to Inactive (INAC). I'm wondering why this type of changes are not being populated neither in the CDHDR table nor CDPOS. I also went to the IH08 transaction -> Extras -> Display Changes and is not reflected there as well.
Is the equipment status different than the other field changes? What would be the best approach in order to track if a Equipment Status changed?

Can anybody provide me what options are available through Maintenance Plans/Items/Strategies.

Why not create a single-cycle plan using a 7 day cycle.
You can then add multiple maintenance items for each equipment. Alternatively use one maintenance item and the Object list

PGI creates incomplete Equipment records

Hi ,
I certain senarios (BTO) the Equipment records created when the delivery is process post good issue is incomplete . Information like the customer ship-to/sold-to is missing from the Equipment records.
What is an user exit, we can use in order to check and complete the information when the Equipment records gets created ?
Did try enhancement IEQM0003 , but it seems to be called when the equipment is changed, not at the time of creation (PGI)

Go for enhancement points, There is no suitable Exit or Badi.
Otherwise Create the equipment first, then call change equipment Bapi through some z prog call, write the reqd code in the exit you have found.

Custom field in VA01 at item level in Additional Data B Tab

Hi ,
I have a requirement to add a custom field at item level in Additional Data B tab of VA01/VA02. We have to store the data in that field in the VBAP table also have to validate the data entered in the field when user hit save.
Can any body tell me step by step procedure to do that.

Add append structure ZAVBAP in table VBAP in Tcode: SE11.
In this structure include the new fields to be added to the screen.
Then in Tcode : SE80
take program: SAPMV45A
take screen 8459 and add the new field.
Also add the validation in the flow logic.

Addition of custom tab and fields in cProject

Hello Experts,
I need to add custom tab and fields in cProject project definition level(type DPO).
As it is given in IMG help, there are two ways of doing this.
1) Addition of data in CI_DPR_PROJECT and Creating the field groups and including these fields in the field groups.
2) Creating the custom tab and assigning the webDynpro component to it.
I tried the first method. Here I am able to see the field group as the tab in cProjects but the fields included in CI_DPR_PROJECT are not appearing.
Please let me know how I can see the fields which are added to CI include.
Also,
For the second method what is the meaning of implementing the WebDynpro interface DPR_CUST_EXT_INTF ?
I appreciate if anyone explains step by step procedure for this.

By creating a custom tab and adding field you can do that.
Pls. follw the steps as below:
1)Enhance Data base table:
Follow the path:
Spro ->Collaboration Project ->Global Enhancement to Project elements ->Enhance Database table
You will get details about Object category, its Entity table and Structure with Customer Include/APPEND Structure
Then go to Se11 and make changes as mentioned below:
Add the fields required on cProjects Screen in table DPR_PROJECT in the Include "CI_DPR_PROJECT"
2)Run Program DPR_CUST_FLDS_IN_FC_MAP and pass structure : DPR_TS_PROJECT_EXTENDED_ATTR
Run Program DPR_CUST_FLDS_IN_FC_MAP in transaction code SE38 and execute it and in Structure w. Customer Include field, pass structure: DPR_TS_PROJECT_EXTENDED_ATTR, this will generate transport request
3)Set up field control.
Copy std. field control and create new.
Path:Spro ->Collaboration Project ->Global Enhancement to Project elements ->Set up field control
4)Create field group
Path: Spro ->Collaboration Project ->Global Enhancement to Project elements ->Set up field control
Define group to your field here for your field control.
5)Define Field groups for Customer Fields
Path: Spro ->Collaboration Project ->Global Enhancement to Project elements -> Define Field groups for Customer Fields
Make entry here. Name of group is Name of tab page in cProjects front end
Define your customer fields for field group
6)Assign field control to your Project Type:
Path : Spro ->Collaboration Project ->Structure ->Define Project type
Assign custom defined field control to the project type in Field contol field at the bottom.
With this seetings you should be able to see your custom defined fields in custom defined tab page.

History of first page in new tab is not recorded

1) I open a new tab and a page displays (homepage, whatever), 2) I go to a new page under the same tab, 3) I go to another new page under the same tab. The Problem Is: The page in step 1) never gets recorded in the page history. I can never use the "back" arrow to get to that first page. It never shows up in the page history of that tab. I know it used to record that first page but it doesn't anymore. What's up?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Addition of new TAB at Material Master screen

Hi Experts,
I want to add one new tab in between "Descriptions" and "Unit of Measure" tab (under "Additional Data" section in material master). That should hold few language dependent "Brand and Product" data. But, I have no idea is it possible or not.
Please let me know the process if it is possible.

Additional Agents Starting Databank at Different Records (configurable?)

I've noticed that for some reason a 2nd agent starts reading a databank from the 21st record.
The situation I had was that although I was only testing 10VUs (spread over 2 agents), one agent would always fail. I realised that what was happening was that although the 1st agent gets it's credentials from the 1st record of the databank (which has 400 records), the 2nd agent tries to use the 21st record. The problem being that the SUT currently only has 20 actual users configured (PT001-PT020) so trying to use PT021 will obviously fail! Eventually this testing will move to a different environment when all the users will be configured.
I'm working round this for the moment but is there a way of configuring this behaviour? i.e. how many records additional agents "skip"?

Have you tried using the Range option in the databank configuration to limit the used records in the databank (1 to 20)?
