Since SAP does not recommend using GRC Access Control to log actions performed using SUPER users such as SAP, DDIC, or other powerful id's, what tools are available? When SAP, DDIC, or other powerful super users are used in your SAP environment. Are these activities being logged? Is anyone monitoring these activities? Do you even use SUPER id's in your environment or assign access directly to your BASIS team? Have you used GRC SPM or Virsa Firefighter to manage these users? Are you using monitoring tools such as Cyber-Ark to log and monitor your BASIS team? How do you ensure your management or audit team that all activities perfomed by SAP*, DDIC or other powerful SUPER users is logged and available for review?

Can you reference the source where SAP says that standard super users should not be logged?
SAP also says that standard users such as DDIC and SAP* are known targets of attack vectors(DoS attacks, password brute forcing, DB vulnerabilities...) so once having locked them down (see the other responses) it would make sense to monitor them for any events.

Handling Faults in a Business process JCAPS 513

Hi All,
We are testing the faults in a WSDL file.
Fault message has three fields viz Type/Message/Trace.
When i invoke the webservice in a JCD , all the 3 fields are getting populated with the proper error description.
But when i invoke the same service in a business process with a CatchAllExceptions handler, control goes to the exception block , But the fields are not getting populated , instead they are empty.
Could any body please let me know , if we need to consider any extra stuff when we invoke a webservice in a Business process.
By the way we are using JCPAS 5.1.3 for this.

Consider that we have a JCD with input and output defined. When we drag this JCD service to eInsight business process canvas, bp creates 3 business attributes (ie 1-input, 2-output and 3-JavaException). We can use a named exception handler and use 3-JavaException attribute to handle exceptions from JCD Service.
Consider that we have a JCD with input (Like a One-Way service) defined. When we drag this JCD service to eInsight business process canvas, bp creates only 1 business attribute (ie 1- input). JCD service is capable of throwing an exception. How do we catch/handle this exception?

If if want just to monitor various technologies, lets say BizTalk, then there are lot of tools available for this. BizTalk 360 and SCOM are two main tools.
similarly if you want to monitor SAP- like availbility of SAP services/URLS/Databases etc, then HP OpenView can be one option.
However, if you just want to make sure your business process ( integrated BizTalk/SAP..etc) are up and running then you could write some Automated Smoke test scripts, which will perform some basic testing and make sure all components are up and running.

Monitoring Business Process

First of all, sorry for my English but I will try to make my best!
I'm new to JCAPS.
I'm doing a simple BPEL flow in eEnsight. I want monitoring it.
I have setted the persistence but into Emanager page i don't see the windows: Business Process Instance Monitor tab.
Any idea?

Hi Diana
- First, connect enterprise manager to your integration server
- Second, navigate in left menu in server hierarchy to your BP
(for example: Java CAPS - J2EE - Servers - localhost:1800 - [project] - [deployment] - [cmap] - [pageflow/bp/jcd])
- Then, click on this bp or pf or jcd. This is your "Business Process Instance Monitor".
IF you see nothing at this time on the right, you have to install plugin
Do it this way:
- Configuration (that "services" icon above hierarchy)
- Web Application Manager
- Auto install from repository
- url = http://localhost:12000, Administrator/STC (default)
- Connect
- Select All or at least "eInsight Enterprise Manager Plug-In"
- Install

Personas - 1 Transaction, 2 Flavours and 2 Business Processes

Hi,
Any tips on how to handle this situation ...
We use a lot of notifications for different things, we are using them for our helpdesk system and now for something else... We also use the worklists for notifications and the various workflows.
So I have 2 flavours for a notification transaction IQS23, and 2 of the worklist and of the workflow inbox, how do I get Personas to know which flavour I want it to render based on which worklist or business process I'm coming at it from?
I have shortlinks created for all my transactions but that doesn't seem to matter since I'm coming at the transaction from a worklist or workflow inbox.
This must be possible...

This would require dynamic flavor switching once you entered the transaction, which is not yet provided in Personas.
Right now what you could do is to have a script that makes the decision which flavor is needed and then calls the appropriate shortlink, but the issue is that this will open a new tab or browser window.

10.4.5 Server Errors in log and unexplained self-restarts

I experienced 2 eunplained restarts last night in 10.4.4 Server
I looked at the system log and found this weird error that does not occur in any other computers system log

I upgraded to 10.4.5, but the system log of the restart still has the family issues
the machines is a dual 2.0 G5 with 4 gigs of ram, 2 firewire externals, a fire wire 800 card, a lacie s2s, and an iternal raid, plus an extra ethernet card

I don't have enough info to even venture a guess. Is anything else having problems? Is there any other 3rd party hardware? Have drivers been installed/deinstalled/updated? Are there any related messages while the machine is running, or only at boot?

How to handle vacation and daily business workload in cProjects

Hi,
we are planning to use cProjects for our ressource-management. The goal is also to take care of vacation and daily business workload. We would like to see that a ressource is not available on the specified day. Therefore we are thinking about a project with vacation and a workload and assign people to this project? Is there a best practice to handle vacation and the daily business workload?

I have seen that my question is not really clear and therefore I would like to make it more concrete.
I am searching for a possibility to see - during staffing - that an employee is not available on several days. I don't care about the reason the ressource is not available but need to see this that the ressource is not available. If the worker is assigned to another task the demand is clear because it is handled within cProjects. But what about blocking of ressources (i.e. vacation) because this happens in an external system / HCM module? (Therefore I was thinking about to create a project for vacation and plan there the absences of my workers (because of vacation and other reasons). But is it not possible out-of-the-box to specify that the worker is not available on several days because I would setup a task for vacation and would need to assign him on several days and not only for a given time range.) Am I right with this assumption?
Also for the ressource planning: Sorry but I don't get the point with your answer (surely because I am not deep enough into the topic). How is it possible to have a project (lets call the task "daily business") and assign several ressources 25% to this tasks? I need to distribute the demand to several days. For example there is a worker that is using 25% for his daily time for training. In this time he is not available for other tasks. Therefore I would like to create the task, assign him to the task and cProjects should take the demand (8hrs / week) and split it into an demand of 2hrs / day. In this way I can block a ressource for everyday and in the ressource planning I see that he is only available 6hrs because there is already the demand of 2hrs on a daily base.... It this possible?

Handling Callbacks in a Business Process

In a JPD how does the process link Between a Send Control and Receive Control. For example if we have a send Control using a DB control to write to a Database[which in outside Weblogic and triggers some process [ProcessA]] and the Receive Control is triggered by a WebService that is done when the [ProcessA]is completed. If we have two requests coming in how does the JPD keep track on the request when the CallBack from ProcessA happen.

You don't need the parallel switch. Since the incoming message (that starts the business process) is received into a container, it is then available throughout the entire process, until the container is overwritten.
So you can do the call to the webservice, and after that, just do a merge map with the two source messages and one target message.
e.g.
incoming start message -> Container1
webservice request -> Container2
webservice response -> Container3
mergemap result -> Container4
so at the mergemap step, source messages are in Container1 & Container3. The target message will be in Conatiner4.

I recently downloaded the Stuffit Expander and ever since then Firefox hasn't been the same. I receive a DNS Solution Yahoo Error Handler page when I do a search sometimes. And now some pages won't even display for me when they should. How do I get rid of this Yahoo thing (In simple terms please)? Thanks!

Unknown error on log and capture

i recently got a new mac os x version 10.5.7 and installed final cut pro version 6.0.6,
with the sony HRV-Z1U/Z1N camera. I have connected the camera with a firewire cable and all my audio/video preferences are at 48PAL kHz anamorphic
I tried to upload some of my footage and log it but it came up with an error that me and the person who taught me about final cut pro had not seen before.
"Capture encountered a problem reading the data on the source tape. This could be due to a problem with the tape. Capture has been aborted and your clip has been saved."
The person who taught me had no idea what the error was, which was annoying as we both use the same kind of camera, same kind of tapes, and have the same version of final cut pro. I tried using a new tape and it still came up with the same error. also, i followed the user manual step by step and I'm still getting the message
i don't no what else i can do, so if anyone can give me a step by step guide that would be a great help

Custom error handler examples and/or instruction

I'm finishing up an application and would like to customize some of the error reporting.
I've started playing around with the custom error handler VI's with some success. I would, however, like to see some examples from people who know what they are doing (unlike me).
As always, your feedback is appreciated.

I'm also trying to find a simple way to define custom error codes and descriptions in an error cluster. I can produce my codes easily enough using the vi posted by Aristos Queue in the message noted above. I can also display my user-defined descriptions using a dialog, but I haven't found an easy way to make the user-defined descriptions in the array appear in the error cluster.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
