I have just downloaded OC4J 11 - standalone on to Fedora 8. When I started the server, an error
occurred saying: ERROR J2EE RMI-00002 Error starting ORMI server, Invalid keystore format.
I don't have problems running OC4J 10g-standalone.
Thanks,

Please help.Hi Gaurav,
1. What is the JDK version you are using to start your standalone 10.1.3 OC4J?
2. Have you configured any datasources or Resource archive files on the 10.1.3 OC4J?
3. What is the version of the OC4J that jDev is using?
4. What is the version of JDev?
Looks like there is an incompatibility somewhere the above information will help. Thanks.

Error while starting oc4j in standalone mode
Hi All,
I am trying to start oc4j using " java -jar oc4j.jar " from the command line but i get an error oracle.classloader.util.AnnotatedClassFormatError" Unsupported major.minor version 49.0
Please help
Thanks
RaghavendraRaghavendra:
A simple way out is to start your oc4j using java from a jdk 1.5 installation. JDK_1.5_HOME/bin/java -jar oc4j.jar Google "java Unsupported major.minor version" to learn what the error message means. -
Hi, I'm getting the following error when I try to start OC4J. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be?
2006-08-01 15:08:53.444 WARNING J2EE DS0083 Exception occurred getting the statistics from the Impli
cit Connection Cache named 'Example Connection Pool_default'. Exception: 'java.lang.NoSuchMethodErro
r: oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleConnectionCacheManager.getStatistics(Ljava/lang/String;)Ljava/util/Map;'Wendy,
Judging from the error message, my guess is you are using OC4J 10.1.3
(Sorry, couldn't find that detail in your post.)
This means you are probably using "ojdbc14.jar" JDBC driver.
Looking at the javadoc for class "OracleConnectionCacheManager", there definitely is no method "getStatistics()".
Perhaps post the entire error message and stack trace you are getting, as well as the section of your code that is causing the error.
Also, the following details may also help:
* OC4J version you are using
* JDK version you are using
* Oracle database version you are using
* platform you are on
Good Luck,

The error you posted looks like an XML error. Check to verify the well-formedness (I don't like that word!) of the server.xml.
The beginning of your server.xml file should look like:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<application-server xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oracleas/schema/application-server-10_1.xsd" application-directory="../applications"
check-for-updates="adminClientOnly"
deployment-directory="../application-deployments"
connector-directory="../connectors"
schema-major-version="10" schema-minor-version="0" >This must be closed, with </<application-server> at the end of your server XML file. This is the root element of your server.xml.

Errors starting OC4J through JDeveloper
When I try to run the jsptags tutorial in JDeveloper, it attemps to start the OC4J. I get the following two errors before the startup confirmation:
Unable to register the NameService:
Error starting up the IIOPService ..
Oracle9iAS (9.0.3.0.0) Containers for J2EE initialized
I'm assuming it's a configuration issue. Please advise.FYI, I found the error myself. I have ZoneAlarm running on my desktop so shutting it down solved the problem. I don't know why ZoneAlarm didn't ask if the NameService and IIOP services could be run.

RameshUsing the OTN2 tech preview build 4684 now available on OTN, I used the JDEVHOME/jdev/bin/start_oc4j script to startup the embedded server in standalone mode and cannot reproduce these errors.
Can you try with build 4684 from OTN and see if the same issue still reproduces?
If so, does it occur even before ever deploying any applications of your own to the instance? -

Error while trying to start OC4j11g in standalone mode
I get the following error while trying to start OC4j 11g 11.1.1 in standalone mode:
Error initializing server: Shared library "oracle.fabric.runtime" could not be found.
FYI, I have the imports for oracle.fabric, oracle.fabric.interceptors in server.xml already.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
RameshI deployed the map example app that Oracle posted online (GEOTAGS - Oracle Open World Conference in 2007) on the JDeveloper's embeded OC4J 11g Tech Preview 3. The deployment went well. However, it doesn't seem to work when I go to the main.jsp (http://localhost:8888/geotags/main.jsp). The following is the error. Please tell me what I need to do to solve this problem.

Unable to start OC4J standalone server.
Hi
I have just started using Oracle 10g Portal Server. I have downladed the OC4J standalone and have installed at D:\JDeveloper\oc4j following the instructions of running the admin.jar creating the password. When I try starting the OC4J initializing it works fine starts the server with the message
05/12/29 12:21:11 Oracle Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.3.0.0) - Developer Preview 4 initialized
But when I try to deploy a war file which I have created externally with the entries in aplication.xml
<web-module id="mywar" path="../applications/mywar.war" />
and default-web-site.xml
<web-app application="default" name="mywar" root="/technology/mywar" />
The server never starts up just hangs up with the message
Starting OC4J from D:\JDeveloper\oc4j\j2ee\home ...
If the entries are removed the server starts as usual.
Can anyone let me know where is the problem I need to look at, because the war file works fine if deployed in tomcat or weblogic.
Thanks in advance.Hi,
As you asked me it is a simple war deployment. with the folder structure as
simpleWar->index.jsp
simpleWar->META-INF->application.xml
simpleWar->WEB-INF->classes
simpleWar->WEB-INF->lib
simpleWar->WEB-INF->tld
simpleWar->WEB-INF->struts-config.xml
simpleWar->WEB-INF->validation.xml
simpleWar->WEB-INF->validator-rules.xml
simpleWar->WEB-INF->web.xml
and the war file that I am creating is simpleWar.war.

Error message when starting OC4J after deploying
Hi, I hope someone can help me. I've been developing a J2EE project in JBuilder9 and OC4J 9.0.3. The problem occurs when starting OC4J after the application has been deployed. I'm using two MDBs and two Session Beans, one Stateless and the other one stateful. I'm using two topics with OJMS. I can access these topics from a standalone application, but when I try to lookup JNDI names from inside EJBs, I get a NamingException (name not found) Please I need some help
OC4J error:

C:\OC4J>Hi Geoff,
As far as I know, there is no "OC4J 1.3 Developer's Preview" version;
there is a "9.0.3 Developer's Preview Version". However, I would suggest
using the "9.0.2 Production Version" (also available for download from the Technet web site: http://technet.oracle.com)
Also, you need to be using JDK 1.3.1 with that version of OC4J.
You can find information on how to run OC4J in "debug" mode from the
Atlassian web site:
http://www.atlassian.com
and on the OrionSupport web site:
http://www.orionsupport.com
You can also try using the "verbosity" flag, as in:
java -jar oc4j.jar -verbosity 10
(10 is the highest value for "verbosity")
Good Luck,
Avi. -
Starting the opmn managed OC4J in standalone mode ?
Hi All,
I have installed Oracle 10.1.3 production version of the applicartion server.
i use opmn to start the server "opmnctl startall"
by starting oc4j in this manner i am unable to get thread dumps, so i tried to start the server in standalone mode by using " java -jar oc4j.jar" but it fails to start throwing an error "unable to start HTTP Server" default website configuration may not be valid: Fatal error: server exiting
Please help
Thanks
RaghavendraDeepak,
Thanks for replying
i am basically into performance engineering. in our team we basically put the application on a production environment and test for Performace scalability reliability etc now i need thread dumps at one particular load which can only be simulated in a large production environment.
Today i googled a lot and found some methods
1. A tool called Stacktrace.exe which allows to get thread dumps from java processes started as windows service
-----but this is not working for me since intenet is blocked on my app server and this tool can only be run online
2. their are a couple of free ware utilities which allow to get stack trace by giving input as PID ---here also i could not get, bcos of some of issue with user rights
3. unixtool utility which runs on window--basically has unix commands simulated on windows--this allows to send kill -3 signal
4. Last method--use JRockit JVM and get thread dumps from the JRockit Management console
Thanks
Raghavendra
