File Adaptor-picking after error

Hi,
I have a scenario where File adaptor has to pick files where file name is dynamic but the extension is constant e.g <dynamic name>.file
I have configured the file adaptor for picking up the files, as *.file but the problem comes when there is some error in the file and adaptor (field content conversion) fails to pick up the file.
And now on when ever file adaptor polls the directory it again tries to read the same file and fails , irrespective of other correct files(*.files).
Is there any way to remove/archive this error file so that file adaptor polls for the next correct files.

Are u talking about additional files? If so you can use NameA.optional=yes and proceed.

Is this related to User authentication error or its internal SAP PI File Adaptor error?

Hi Rajeev,
Error when getting an FTP connection from connection pool - means XI server is not able to communicate with FTP server... just ask your FTP server network guys to open the firewall settings of FTP server for XI server..

File Adaptor....... system command after file processing

i am creating 2 files with file adaptors..
lest say a1.txt and a2.txt..
in the file adaptor i am specifying the path of a batch file which is located at the same location where these 2 files are created......this batch file should run after message processing
i am using this .bat file to create a file by combining these 2 files and delete these 2 files after that...
but nothing seems to be happening..after the 2 files are created.
seems like the command is not getting triggered which it is suppose to after message processing.
please help

How to increase the files picked up by File Adaptor per poll interval

We have a scenario where in we post 80 files in the source directory and and the file adapter is configured for every 300 sec but i have noticed that the File adaptor is picking up one or two files per poll interval.Can some please suggest how to increase the number of files picked up by File adaptor

Did you mention all the files names in the Adapter channel. One thing you can do is use wild cards and file adapter picks most of them

In case if your files are huge, then I guess file size may cause to process few files during each poll

Error trying to open pdf file from Internet after installing acrobat prof. 7

I am experiencing issues when I try to open pdf file from Websites after having installed Acrobat Professional edition 7

Thanks for your reply. The only way I can open the pdf file is to save it locally. I don't understand why can't I just click and open the pdf file without saving them

File adaptor Debugging?

I am using a file adaptor which is reading the file and then archiving it after successfull reading .Now what happened that In my scenarion the file got picked up by adaptor and archived also but there is no trace available in the SXMB_MONI
I need help in debugging the same scenarion How to dedbugg and why this happened

File Adapter picks up the file but cant see it in MONI/Message Monitoring

I am using FCC in Sender File Adapter and have only one sub structure under Recordset hence I have not used the 'Key Field Name' though ''Key Field Type' by default is 'String(Case-Sensitive)'. Besides the 'fieldNames' heading I have mentioned all the fields of the sub structure in the same order as I have mentioned in the Data Type.
The problem that I am facing is that even though the file is picked up from ftp successfully still I cant see any traces of it in either MONI or Message Monitoring though
The error that I receive in the MDT is -
Success : Entire file content converted to XML format
Warning : Empty document found. Proceed without sending message
Success : File "Test.csv" deleted after processing
and I have data in the file.
Can u suggest a solution?

I had a look at the blog and according to that I will need to create a module...the prob with that is in the blog he hasnt provided the full steps for that. Also I had tried this thing earlier of using an excel file and saving it in .csv format and it had worked. I cant figure out what the error is this time
Have u worked on creating amodule for excel files b4?

File not picking up in FTP server

Hi SAP-XI experts,
2 different files are send to same FTP server but one file was picked but other was not picking.
Error that came while monitoring CC is as below:
"Conversion of file content to XML failed at position 0: java.lang.Exception: ERROR converting document line no. 1 according to structure 'row':java.lang.Exception: ERROR in configuration / structure 'row.': More elements in file csv structure than field names specified!".
Seeing the error we cross check the content of file present at FTP server. But everything was fine,it contain same no.of fields present in Content conversion and even same length.
Solution: I added a extra row in Content conversion "row.additionalLastFields ignore".After that i stop and restart the Communication channel it start picking the file but the Communication channel is still in red.
Can u please tell me ASAP the reason why the file was not picked first and then after adding extra row it started picking.

it is related to some problem with the data only...because i too faced the same issue...i was also not able to see the new line when i try to open the same in notepad++ ... may be some other paramters or data of excel/CSV which is avoiding to display the same..in notepad++
also try one more thing...enable the new line characters and see if there is any difference...between the processes and failed files...

Inbound File Adaptor

Hi Guys,
I have a situation where I would like to receive an XML file into XI and map it to an IDOC and post a transaction in R/3.
I have been able to pick up the XML using the inbound file adaptor. The problem that I am experiencing is that the XML file is encoded using UTF-16. The XML file also has BOMs. I have tried creating a new data type from the XSD but get a parsing error. So I created a new data type manually using the values that are given to me in the XSD file. When I try and test the mapping I get an error. I keep getting a parsing error that indicates to me that it cannot map the XML file that it receives to the data type that I have created. It appears that XI is not able to read this UTF-16 file. Has anyone had this situation before? Can XI handle UTF-16 and BOM?
When creating the data type, do I have to include the BOM and BO elements?
Any help would be appreciated!

Yip, I have tried this already and it works fine. I have also tried uploading an IDoc and that too works fine. This leads me to think that my problem actually lies in the way that my data type is defined and not the actual file adaptor. I think that by finding out whether I should include the BOM and BO elements in my data type would probably help towards solving this problem, because I think that if XI is able to read UTF-16 fine, then it would automatically know that a BOM and BO element is going to be there and would ignore these elements in the XML file.
Here is the test XML file that I am trying to read into XI:-

File Gets picked up but the location gets disabled

Hi,
I have a sharepoint receive location that gets document from sharepoint library .
The issue is, the file gets picked up and processed but the receive location gets disabled after threshold.
Any suggestions on the cause and resolution?

The error says..
The adapter "Windows SharePoint Services" raised an error message. Details "Unable to connect to the SharePoint Site 'wsss://server:443/sites/MySite/MyLibrary?ViewName='. Verify that the Site exists and the URL has been specified correctly.
This error was triggered by the Windows SharePoint Services receive location or send port with URI wsss://server:443/sites/MySite/MyLibrary?ViewName=.
Windows SharePoint Services adapter event ID: 12464".
But as said, the file gets picked and deleted and the location gets disabled.
