{function:: function } doesn't display in region

Hey guys,
I have the following region at
http://longmanhomeusa.com/blogfeed/blogfeed.php
note the spry:content="{function::FormatDate}"
It doesn't seem to work. I think I'm looking at it too long as I can't seem to find the error. So I'm asking for another pair of eyes. Can anyone see the error. Note that if I removed the markup the region generates as expected.

It can be that the spry:content does not support the function::<syntax> or that your impelementation is wrong. You can try this:
spry:content="function::FormatDate"
Like you would implement the function statement in the spry:if statements.
If that doesn't do the trick you need to modify the SpryData.js if you need this kind of support.

Conditional display of region with PL/SQL function returning SQL query

Hello,
ApEx 2.0.
I use PL/SQL functions that return SQL queries to display the contents of a region.
How could I conditionally display such region ? If no data is found, the region shouldn't be shown. I tried with "SQL query returns at least one row" but this doesn't seem to work.

Hi Matthias,
Are the regions in question report regions? So your PL/SQL process is returning a SQL query and then populating a report?
The EXISTS(SQL Query returns at least one row) condition should work, try running the query you are using in the Expression 1 textarea inside SQL*Plus, or SQL developer using the same parameters, and see what gets returned.
If you are still stuck, can you post the query you are using inside your Expression 1 textarea of the Conditions section and I can take a look at it for you.

Function or formula to display the desired color in report

Hi,
I am using Web I rich client in BO XI R3.1 version and would like to know if there is any function or formula to display the desired color in report.
I've used aleters but not getting the desired output. I need to display the color of some regions percentage wise based on a condition in a box i've created alerters for individual colors but they are not working.
I came to know in crystal it is available just want to know if it is available in BO too.

Or just make one alerter. Make sure you are in the cell and open Alerters. Create one that says "Filtered Object or cell" = "Cell Contents" "Less than" and enter the lowest number, like 0.6. Then click format and change to the color text or background you want. Say ok to all of that and make sure it works.
Then edit the same alerter, click add sub-alerter. Make this one "Filtered Object or cell" = "Cell Contents" again, and put Operator of "Greater than or Equal" to 0.7. Then click on the plus sign button to the right and it should give you an "And" option. Make that one "Cell Contents" "Less than" 0.8. Again go into Format and change to the next color you want. Click OK all the way out and check.
Then edit it again, and add another sub-alerter and make this one "Cell Contents" "Greater than or equal to" 0.9. and again format the color, and save.
Does that not work?

The "Search" function box doesn't find things that are there! Why?!

The "Search" function box doesn't find things that are there! Why? Eg: It doesnt show all my Sent and Received emails, but it will find an email that I half wrote and deleted. Unsure why or how to explain more fully.
I also don't understand if I type in "James email" or "J" into the search box and all the J / James stuff appears but it doesn't show the emails I know have been sent and I know are somewhere because I rang "James" up to check, but the search box shows random thing I am NOT looking for, even if I type in fully what I am looking for and test it by typing in full titles of things.
It also doesn't store all my sent emails in "Sent" box. Confused! I'm not sure if the "Search" box just isn't up to the job or if it is broken / i'm doing something wrong? Maybe the email address I use isn't set up properly?

This can happen sometimes if the cache is not cleared correctly when items are not deleted from your device.
The only solution to this is to do a restore to clean out the cache file.

Microsoft Exam Questions On Functionality That Doesn't Work!

What does a student do if they are tested, in a Microsoft exam, on functionality that's known not to work?!
It seems absurd that Microsoft is doing this.

Assume it does work when you take the exam.
How can functionality that doesn't work outside of the exam suddenly and mysteriously work in the exam? that doesn't make sense!
Turn a blind eye toward "real world" experiences in these types of cases.
Turning a blind eye to functionality that doesn't work isn't the correct solution: fixing the software or removing the question
from the exam is.
Be sure to mark the exam questions that you disagree with.
- and what happens if the student concerned did not think to do this at this time but only after she had time
to think about it afterwards?

I could not understand what you are trying to do with decode here.
The standard way of using the decode is like :
SQL>SELECT DECODE (1 , 1 ,'TRUE','FALSE') FROM DUAL;
DECO
TRUE
1 row selected.
1* SELECT DECODE (1 , 0 ,'TRUE','FALSE') FROM DUAL
SQL>/
DECOD
FALSE
1 row selected.

Functional keys doesn't work in Windows 7.

I have installed BootCamp 3.0 and installed all drivers; however, functional keys doesn't work such as keyboard backlight, volum control.

May be, the problem is that Setup doesn't delete old drivers or other stuff which conflicts with latest drivers? Before released drivers I tried to install beta and them didn't work. I have written the following item level trigger KEY-F4 trigger
DECLARE

It does not display this lov.
Another lov is displayed on pressing F9 key which is assigned to this item.
Now I want that another lov should be displayed when I press F4 and default lov should be displayed when I press F9.

IE doesn't display part of spry data set!?!?

I hope somebody can help me out with a problem I got with the spry dataset I use on my website. -> http://media-powerplant.de/media-powerplant-referenzen.html
The thing is that the IE doesn't display text in the "master" region. There are no problems with the Details region, and pictures are also diplayed in the master, but strangely enough no text! :-(
When i visit the site with firefox or any other browser the text gets displayed. I have no idea what the problem is, but this is really bothering me.
I hope that somebody is kind enough to help me out here. Big thanks in advance! :-)

Then you said that I have to change the columne type..... Right now I have those two columnes ("name" and "kategorie") set to "string" as you can see in the attached screenshot. Is that correct? If it is, the mistake must be something else I'm afraid.

HTMLDB's SVG doesn't display in SVG-enabled browsers

Hi,
HTMLDB's SVG doesn't display in SVG-enabled browsers, such as firefox 1.5
The problem is in file /i/javascript/plugins.js
function detectPlugin(){
It requires the Adobe SVG Viewer plugin, but firefox 1.5 has SVG capabilities by itself, without the plugin. Please fix the detection or simply don't try to detect anything and let the browser suggest what plugin is needed, if any.

While hacking around with this I figured out a way to enable svg rendering In Firefox 1.5 beta and IE.
When a chart is created the region src html is something like this

XMP doesn't display proper info in Photoshop CS2 for Mac.

Dear List members:
I have just recently installed Creative Suite CS2 and begun to explore the functionality of XMP. After purchasing Bruce Fraser's book on Camera Raw for CS2, I downloaded Metalab (Pound Hill Software) and created my first custom XMP panel that can be seen under the file info in Photoshop when an image (digital photo) is open.
The problem is that I noticed a few odd things and began to question myself if there is some kind of bug or a problem with my installation of CS2.
1. The window that opens under the file info command has several categories of information on the left to be chosen from, in the following order:
(1)Description, (2)Camera Data 1, (3)Camera Data 2, (4)Categories, (5)History, (6)IPTC Contact, (7)IPTC Content, (8)IPTC Image, (9)IPTC Status, (10)Adobe Stock Photos, (11)Origin, (12)Advanced
The Camera Data 1 option when selected opens a panel in the file info window that seems to contain all the information it is supposed to contain. The Camera Data 2 panel, on the other hand, doesn't display any information at all. Although the fields are there, they are empty. The fields are:
(1)Pixel Dimension X and Y, (2)Orientation, (3)Resolution X and Y, (4)Resolution Unit, (5)Compressed Bits per Pixel, (6)Color Space, (7)Light Source, (8)File Source.
All these fields are empty but when looking at the same file under Bridge the information is there, displayed under the metadata menu.
This is something I noticed "before" installing Metalab so I know it is not a compatibility issue generated by the installation of the software.
After installing CS2 I noticed that CS1 remained installed in my system. The version I purchased of CS2 is the upgrade one. Since I have no use for CS1 as I am now totally converted to CS2, I would like to uninstall CS1. The following are some of the questions I have:
1. How can I uninstall CS1 without causing any problems to my installation of CS1 ? Is there an uninstall utility with the software or will I have to uninstall the entire package manually ?
2. My G5 came with only one internal 160 GB drive where I originally installed CS1. I then purchased another internal 400 GB HD and copied the original drive onto it. This week I am going to replace the original 160 GB drive with a second 400 GB drive so that I can do regular "mirror image" back-ups between the two drives. Shold I expect any problems as I remove the drive where I originally installed CS1 ? Since I used disk utility to "copy" the 160 GB drive onto the 400 GB drive, my understanding it that any Adobe software key or authorization was also transferred to the drive. Is this right ? In case it hasn't, how can I transfer this information so that after I remove the 160 GB drive I will not experience any problems when trying to run CS2 ?
3. How can I fix the problem with the Camera Data 2 panel under the file info window and command ? I noticed that the folder that is supposed to hold the Custom File Info Panels (HD>Library>Application Support>Adobe>XMP>Custom File Info Panels) has files for CS1 and CS2. Could this be a problem ? There many more files with .dat extenson than there are with the .txt extension. Bruce Fraser specifically says that the ones with the .txt extension are the ones that hold the XMP templates for information related to the image files. The files I have in this folder with the .txt are:
(1)Camera1_CS2.txt , (2)Camera1.txt , (3)Camera2_CS2.txt , (4)Camera2.txt , (5)Categories.txt , (6)History.txt , (7)IPTC_Contact.txt , (8)IPTC_Content.txt , (9)IPTC_Image.txt , (10)IPTC_Status.txt , (11)StockPhotoInfo.txt
The only ones that have two separate files one each for CS1 ad CS2 are Camera 1 and Camera 2. Camera 2 seems to be the only that is now non-functional. What should I expect to happen if I were to manually uninstall the ones that relate to CS1 ? Could that cause any problems ?

The Photoshop and/or Bridge forums would be more likely places to get answers to your questions. This forum is inhabited more by programmer types interested in implementing the XMP specification in applications we write.
I'd expect CS2 to ignore CS1 panels so I doubt that's the issue. Panels don't interfere with each other--they just offer different views of the data. In any case, move the extra panels to your desktop and see what happens.
As far as I know, all you need to do on the Mac is drag the CS1 application folder to the trash to uninstall it.

"0" doesn't display before comma in float numbers...

Hi fellow APEX users,
Have you ever experienced this issue with float numbers in your APEX forms?
When I type float numbers between -1 and 1 in forms (e.g. 0,7 or -0,2), and after having submitted the form then reloaded it for editing, "0" doesn't display before the comma.
For example I got:
*,7* instead of *0,7*
-,2 instead of -0,2
etc.
If I look in SQL Workshop, I see the same (no "0") but I'm pretty sure that the value is properly recorded in the database.
The thing is that it's not very nice for the end users, as they can think the value is wrong.
Does anybody have a solution to display proper float numbers with "0" in the forms?
For info I use the NUMBER type.
Any help much appreciated!

Hi Peter!
Of what type is your item? Display as text or do you use the item value for further computations.
If it is only for means of displaying the correctly formatted number, I'd change the item source to a query and would equip the desired column with a to_char function like:
select to_char(str_be_main, 'fm999G999G990D00') from yourtable where ...You could also use a post calculation computation and enforce the format there:
to_char(:P2027_YOUR_ITEM,'fm999G999G990D00')Maybe this helps!

.flv doesn't display in browers

This is what I did: 1) inserted flash video (about 5 MB and
encoded in Flash Video dEncoder CS3) into a DW page. 2)Saved and
checked that it plays correctly in DW preview. 3) uploaded page,.
FLV and required FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf to server. 4) Checked
with server; they allow progressive FLVs. 5) From Adobe.com I
downloaded and replaced FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf in my local
folder in case cross-scripting vulnerability=the culprit.
6)uploaded new FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf to server. Tried it at
root level and in folder analogous to local file. 7)Cleared
browsers' caches, histories. Refreshed page. 8) did all of this on
Mac OS10.4 and Windows XP (except #5 because Adobe site has 404
error on cross-scripting vulnerability link for Macs . Have
notified Adobe about 404 three times.)
