Help for beginner! Photo gallery

I have found 2 templates in a free website
Here is the attachment:
www56.zippyshare.com/v/98974987/file.html
The problem I have encountered is that I have no idea in removing the stack gallery after I click the return to main menu button. Maybe you have to spend some time on the logic of the templates. But I really hope you guys can be patient to help.
Well, to be honest, I have tried whole day finding out the method through google and video tutorials. Fortunately, I think I can handle in loading the stack gallery in the first page. Like using XML codes or loading .swf.
But still can't remove/unload the gallery after I hit the return button.
So please generous guys can give me your ideas.

something like this...not quite working
function updateSlide() { // load photo, update caption and status fields
setTimeout(targetPhoto.loadPhoto(photos[currentIndex], 2000);
caption = captions[currentIndex];
statusField = (currentIndex+1) + "/" + totalSlides;

  • Help with embedding Javascript for Lightbox Photo Gallery in Muse!

    Hi all:
    I am fairly new to Muse and I have been having trouble finding relevant information for embedding Javascript in order to get a lightbox to work in Muse. Would anyone be able to walk me through embedding the Javascript for the Lightbox Photogallery for Picasa in Muse?
    This is the code I want to use: Lightbox Photo Gallery and Slideshow for Picasa
    And this is the look I am trying to accomplish within my Muse site: Cycling Around The World / January 2006 / Picasa Template by www.paulvanroekel.nl
    Any help would be appreciate. Thanks much,
    Alexis

    Hi,
    I have tried inserting the script that you have pasted above as HTML on my test site and it worked.
    What happens is whenever you insert something as HTML, Muse by default creates a div tag and places the content within the div tag. What I have done differently is I have inserted the JS with in the <script> tag and it has inserted the Javascript in this manner,
    I beleive that since this a browser re-direct script that you are using, you would like to place this in the head section and not in the body tag, however, that is certainly not possible using Muse as it does not allow access to the code it generates as a muse file.
    You, can still export the pages as HTML and make the appropriate changes there before uploading to the server.
    Hope that helps.

  • Troubleshoot Main Image for spry photo gallery

    Hello, I am modifying some spry files to see if I can get the
    hang of it using my images. I have taken the photo gallery files
    gallery.js
    SpryData.js
    SpryEffects.js
    xpath.js
    The folder structure contains images and thumbnails on the
    root folder as well as the ap.css sheet and photos.xml
    The page is
    http://www.proximita.com/learning/index.html.
    Since I only have 1 photo gallery (and I did the getting
    started tutorial and worked fine I wanted to add the slideshow
    effect in the spry demo functionality) I only have one xml doc and,
    as mentioned, the both image folders and the css sheet are on the
    root, and the all the js files are in an includes folder.
    The thumbnails show up fine, but, the main image does not
    show up at all. I am almost sure this is a bad reference somewhere
    or a begginners mistake but I cant find it.
    I did modify the gallery.js because it referenced 2 or three
    variables (like dsPhotos and dsGalleries that are used for the demo
    I only have dsGallery) and I cahnged all of the other refrences to
    dsGallery.
    I think I am having problems here:
    function ShowCurrentImage()
    var curRow = dsPhotos.getCurrentRow();
    SetMainImage("galleries/" +
    dsGalleries.getCurrentRow()["@base"] + "images/" + curRow["@path"],
    curRow["@width"], curRow["@height"], "tn" + curRow["ds_RowID"]);
    you can check out the whole code here:
    http://proximita.com/learning/includes/gallery.js
    Im unconcerned with appearance for the moment, and would just
    like to see the main image and the slideshow functionality.
    If you can help, please do. Thanks, Mario.

    yes, I suspect that is because the tutorial talks about
    building this from scratch and uses that name for the "thumbnails"
    div rather than what they actually use in the demo files...
    confusing, to say the least.
    It would be nice if there were a simple document with demo
    files that didn't include other stuff unrelated to JUST the slide
    show (gallery)... and if the whole layout were more simple,
    css-layout-wise...
    or, if the demo files were commented with what each bit is
    for and how to modify it.

    You need to open gallery.js and change the observer to point

  • Help putting a photo gallery in Dreamweaver CS5.5

    Hi,
    I'm new to web design and have been learning to use DW CS5.5.  My goal is to design a website for my small, online antiques business with a photo gallery in it.
    The Adobe Extension site lists several photo gallery options, but none for CS5.5.  Does anyone have any ideas on how I can easily, or fairly easily add a simple photo gallery to my new site?  By simple, I mean thumbnails linking to a page with a larger photo and descriptive text, nothing else.  I really want to keep it simple.
    Is my only choice to build it myself from scratch?
    Any help you can give will be most appreciated.

  • Help with AS2 - photo gallery

    Hi All
    would someone beable to help me with some code, I downloaded a photo gallery example, at the moment the movie plays the photos when you click a button(timer)
    What I'm trying to do is to get the movie to auto play the photos on load rather than having to click the button. I have been lookin in the scrip, I think its something to do with
    // initialize values

    but when I change this value to 1, not much happens, would some be able to have a look within the code and see where I can change it so that the movie runs the images automatcally on load.

    CODE:

    I am putting together a photo gallery using the tutorial
    found
    here.
    I have completed the basic tutorial and it is working well. I need
    help though in implementing some advanced features not covered in
    the tutorial but shown in the proof of concept
    here.
    I want to include a "gallery" selector like the proof of
    concept, but i have no idea as to how i would go about
    incorporating it. I have had a look at the code and it doesnt seem
    to be all that difficult, but i just dont know what to do. I am
    open to anything anyone can suggest even adding more Datasets if
    needed. the other thing that is included in the code selection are
    the Next, play/pause, and previous buttons. If anyone could tell me
    how to get that to work i would appreciate it.
    Thanks

    did you have any luck figuring out how to make your photo
    album? I'm working on my own and am also having a hard time
    understanding the proof of concept without a full tutorial.

    Look at JAlbum software.
    http://jalbum.net/en/software/download
    Lots of different skins (layout styles) to choose from.
    http://jalbum.net/en/skins/new
    JAlbum creates thumbnails and HTML pages for you.  So updating  galleries & photos is a breeze.

  • Help - xml driven photo gallery

    Hello,
    I have a very simple ajax page. There is a dropdown from
    which the user selects the gallery and then there is an xml file
    that send back the xml full of pictures for that gallery. The
    problem is that on changing the gallery in the dropdown, sometimes
    it works and then it doesnt. More like it works the first time (so
    new pictures load up fine) and then it doesnt. I cant figure out
    for the life of me why this wont work right. I have tried looking
    at the xml, it is running fine, takes a url parameter as the
    galleryid and generates the xml. The alert in the get_pictures
    alwys pops up but the loadData seems like not working. Been looking
    over this code for hours now. Here is the relevant code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var dsPhotos = new
    Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("test_getpics_xml.cfm?galleryid=<cfoutput>#galleryid#</cfoutput>",
    "photos/photo");
    //var dsPhotos = new
    Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("test_getpics_xml.xml?galleryid=<cfoutput>#galleryid#</cfoutput>",
    "photos/photo");
    //var dsPhotos_page = new
    Spry.Data.PagedView(dsPhotos,{pageSize: 20});
    //var dsPhotos_page_info = dsPhotos_page.getPagingInfo();
    function get_pictures(galleryid)
    urltext='test_getpics_xml.xml?galleryid='+galleryid
    alert(urltext)
    dsPhotos.setURL(urltext)
    dsPhotos.loadData()
    </script>
    <table>
    <tr>
    <td>Galleries:
    <select name="galleryid"
    onChange="get_pictures(this.value)">
    <cfoutput query="qry_galleries">
    <option
    value="#galleryid#">#galleryname#</option>
    </cfoutput>
    </select>
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <div spry:region="dsPhotos">
    <div spry:repeat="dsPhotos"> <a href="##"
    onclick="alert('hey')"><img width="100" height="100"
    src="{@picture}" /></a>
    <p><br />
    </p>
    </div>
    </div>
    I have Firebug plugin installed on my Firebox and there is no
    error on it. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

    Hi vansh110,
    It's really hard to diagnose the problem without actually
    seeing your example in action. If you can't give us an URL to look
    at, then the best we can do is suggest some debugging tips.
    Try adding an observer to your data set that prints the
    notifications:
    dsPhotos.addObserver(function(notificationType, notifier,
    data)
    Spry.Debug.trace(notificationType);
    if (notificationType == "onPostLoad")
    Spry.Debug.trace("<pre>" +
    Spry.Utils.encodeEntities(dsPhotos.getData().toSource()) +
    "</pre>");
    That way you can watch what states the data set is going
    through. The trace statement will only work in FireFox due to the
    use of toSource(), but it will show you what the final data set
    looks like after the data is loaded and flattened into a table.
    Next, you can turn on region debugging:
    Spry.Data.Region.debug = true;
    That should show you the markup that is being generated after
    data is loaded.

  • Is it possible to make a scrollable thumbnail list for a photo gallery?

    I would like to know if it's possible to add a scroll bar to a photo-thumbnail list, so that the thumbnails won't have to fill the whole page to show all of the photos at once. I know it is possible to change the size of the thumbnails and also the gallery's dimentions, however that's not what I need.
    Thank you.

    Hello,
    As topelovely explained, it is not possible to add a scroll bar to the thumbnails as of now.
    I would sugget you to add it as a feature request on Muse forums under "Ideas for future Adobe Muse" section (http://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/ideas).
    Hope this helps.
