Hide 'Settings' in ALV WD

Hi,
I would like to hide the the SETTINGS( That helps the user to personalize the columns that he/she wants to display ) in the Standard ALV in Webdynpro.
Please help me if you have any inputs.

Did you check with your administration team if it's possible by "SALV WD Administration Settings"?
If what you need is a customization will be better served in a administration forum instead of a abap one, don't you think?

User Settings in ALV - need to disable

Hi - I need to disable the user settings for ALV, I try from if_salv_wd_std_functions ~ set_dialog_settings_allowed( abap_false ) but is working fine for the screen, if I go to the column and do right click, the user settings are enable at the column level.
Is there any way I can disable the column user settings?

Hi Jason,
I simply set the WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION parameter of my component's apllication to 'X' and now i don't see the usersetting option when I right click even on the column of the ALV. You can try that.
To do so: double click on your application, go to the parameters tab, make it editable, in the parameters column get 'WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION' parameter and set its value as 'X'.

Hide cell in alv-grid on certain rows

I wonder if it is possible to hide certain cells in an ALV-grid ?
e.g the data in cell1 row1 is visible, but the data in cell1 on row2 has to be invisible...

I don't believe it can do it for only certain cells and I don't believe it's possible to hide anything in alv-grid.
Your program decides what can be displayed so if something data doesn't has to be shown it shouldn't be loaded in output table.

In ALV if u want to hide a particular column, use NO_OUT = 'X' in the field catalog for that field.
There are lot events which will control the interactive ALV.

Print settings for ALV report

I have a ALV report output with LINE-SIZE 1023. But when I try to execute the report in background the output row is not coming in one line but in 2 lines. When we run the report in background I gave the printer as 'LOCL' (local) and displayed in spool. In the PRINT SETTINGS I don't see FORMAT for 65 X 1023. Do I need to create one? If yes, how to create it? Or if there is any other way go get all the cloumns in one row of a ALV output.

Change the font on the X_65_255 paper size :-
This tip was taken from the SAP-R3 mailing list, and is by Sheila Tichener.
If you need to use a large line-size to get all your data in I know the sap version of X_65_255 for hp laser jet 4 gives an unnecessarily small font . You can change it in SPAD (or copy to Y_65_255) as follows.
Example:
Choose Device formats, Change
hplj4
x_65_255
Execute
Double click on printer initialisation
Change from:-
# select Courier 16.67 CPI normal font
e(s0p16.67h0s0b4099T
to:-
# select arial 24 cpi 15 point normal
e(s0p24h15v0s0b16602T
Also bold as follows:-
# select arial 24 cpi 15 point bold
e(s0p24h15v0s3b16602T
Also the error you get when changing a format in the output screen is only a warning and can be overidden by pressing the green tick.
If the sap standard formats don't fit your requirements you can create your own eg Y_65_170 . It seems to be the numbers in the name that somehow triggers which one the abap chooses

How to Hide rows in ALV without affecting total sum at the end of table?

I need some help in hiding particular rows in an ALV Grid without affecting the total sum at the end of the table. I am trying to hide the rows that have negative quantities, but I still need those values so that the user can still compute for the total sums. Can anyone help? Thanks.

You can use the method SET_COLUMN_TECHNICAL of the class CL_SALV_COLUMN to hide the Column.

We just can't make changes in this case as this are all system generated programs.
WE have to write our own reports to make things flexible to match our requirements.

How to disabled 'user settings' in ALV by right clicking

Hi,
How to disable the 'user setting' context menu and corresponding popup after right clicking in the ALV.
I already tried parameter wddisableuserpersonalization = X but still I can do a right click and go to user settings.

In my opinion this has nothing to do with auth settings... Has everything been transported cleanly?
You should double check the settings on your Acceptance machine, especially considering WD_GLOBAL_SETTING. If User-Personalization is allowed here, it will overwrite everything else.
Maybe also check WD_ANALYZE_CONFIG_USER on Acceptance machine and delete all personalizations for the user you are testing with. I once successfully messed up my Personalization with conflicting entries there...

Hide columns in ALV

I have a problem in the ALV usage in abap webdrn pro.
I have implemented the ALV by reusing the component SALV_WD_TABLE.
In the interface controller usage, i mapped the DATA node to
component context node, say, node1.
Node1 is has a reference to a structure from data ditionary, say Struc1.
and Stuc1 has some 20 elements.
But in the Node1 i mapped only 10 elements of the structure Struc1 as its attributes.
Now, when i map 'data' node to the Node1 from controller,
My ALV shows all teh 20 columns.
But i want only 10 of these columns to be displayed in the ALV.
Please let me know if.
I already know of referring to the ALV programmatically and hiding the columns.
But my question is taht when the Node1 has only few elements, shouldnt the alv also display the same number of coloumns..
Please let know if there is a way out here.

Hide columns in ALV grid?

Hi all,
I define a structure in the ABAP dictionary. I declare a table of that type in my program. I populate the table with records. I then display the table of data in an ALV grid. I hide three fields in the grid when I build the field catalog. When I run the program the fields are hidden. When my user runs the program the fields are not hidden...but are displayed on the end of the ALV grid. How do I correct? And why the difference in views?

Also what you can do is , when you display your ALV, in the application tool bar of ALV you can see the option of
Change Variant..
check any existing variants are there or not..I am sure user might have created such varaint.
if this is not the case , and there is no varaint , check with user whether he has created any variant..
also check your filedcat and Layout.
