How to create and save a file in flex web application ?

Hi,
I want to create and save a file form flex web application. Is it possible ?
I have done some googling and found that its only possible through file referece, which needs some serverside implementation be called.
Is it not possible with file reference to create and save file directly ?
Can any one suggest how to over come this.

code written with the Flex Builder 3 libraries will certainly run in Flash Player 10. However, what you need is not so much the capabilities of FP10 but the library functionalities of the Flex 4 package. And I think that Flex 4 code will only run in FP10 and not 9 (but haven't tested this as at work we have not yet been permitted to upgrade, so there is not a lot of point going for Flex 4!).

It's really too bad we can't see VJ's face when the concept sinks in. This is one of my favorite moments when teaching APEX classes. Most people love it, some people don't. If nothing else it really proves the power and performance of the Oracle database. Each page view can generate 40+ queries, yet on the average system this takes less than .04 seconds.
Keep in mind there are no undocumented features or "Oracle Internals" that the APEX team uses to achieve this performance, just sound database design. With every feature they add they evaluate how it will be used and design the tables and indexes to most efficiently answer the query. Sometimes this means going against "purist" normalized principals.

Well my acquisition code runs perfect. The problem is reading it. I can't seem to read my data no matter what I do. My data gets saved as a string using the array to string vi but I've read that the string to array vi (which I need to convert back to array to read my data) does not work on the pda. I'm using version 8.0. So I was trying to modify the program posted in this discussion so that it would save data from my DAQ. I did that but I still can't read the data after its saved. I really don't know what else to do. All I need to do is read the data on the pda itself. I can't understand why I'm having such a hard time doing that. I found a possible solution on another discussion that talks about parsing the strings because of the bug in the "string to array" vi. However, that lead me to another problem because for some reason, the array indicators or graphs don't function on the pda. When i build the program to the pda or emulator, the array indicators are faded out on the front panel as if the function is not valid. Does this kind of help give a better picture of what I'm trying to do. Simply read data back. Thanks.

I have worked in Sony Vegas 9 and I was hoping Adobe Premier Pro CC was similar--- but its not. I can't figure out how to render and save a file as a windows media or mp3 or in any format for that matter.

This defeats the purpose of trying to centralize SAP-related web resources on the SAP server. Typically IIS/Apache or other non-SAP servers are under the control of IT and not the SAP BASIS group.
We simply would like to have a centralized location to store static web files so that they are not overwritten during Portal support pack applications.

I finally was able to convert to docx format, but see no way to use the converted file. How can I edit and save in jpeg format?

Please tell me what the problem is with the converted file. Are you unable to edit it, or did it not convert as you expected?
Can you tell me how the PDF was created? (Different applications write PDF files differently, and some aren't as good as others--that can affect conversion).

How to edit and save a file ( after edit in CS6 in LR) to keep it in LR collection where it was?

I understood that I could select a file from a LR collection, start editing it in LR then pass it to CS6 (I chose the option to make a copy and keep the LR changes) , makes the changes in CS6 and save it from CS6 (Saved it as a PSD file) .Afterwards I can see 2 files (one being the original file,the other the PSD file saved in CS6 in the original folder of the file, which is fine ) but the file seems to have disappeared from the LR collection. I am new to LR.

When you edit in CS6, do you do a "Save" or "Save As..."? You need to do a Save and not a "Save As..." You also can't change the file type from whatever it was when Lightroom created the file.
Works for me when I do it that way.

You cannot encrypt files and folders w/OS X. Create an encrypted disk image, mount it, and store everything in there. Unmount it when finished. BTW, don't forget the password or the data's toast.

Becaus I need it often, I arranged a couple of buttons to create a new control.
I saved it as a .ctl file, but when I want to use it LabView says it isn´t a control.
Whats wrong? I couldn´t find a proper hint.

The problem that you file *.ctl can include only one control, so you have 2 options:
1) Create ctl file for each control
2) Put all controls to cluster and save as ctl file.
When you will insert this cluster to your vi, get out one of buttons and remove cluster.

I feel a little stupid as I think I ought to know the answer - but nowmI must admit that I need some help. On the desktop the user select a folder with photos - for examples .jpg. The application then build a xml file successfully but I cannot succeed in creating thumb versions of the photos. Width and height must be max. 96 pixels each but how do I actually copy, resize and then save the thumbs? The resize portion of my function is the most critical part as I am stuck in my own code. In the servlet/jsp, you need to handle multipart request which you can't get it by just request.getParameter("FILE1").

I created an application using jsp and bc4j. I tested it against a standalone OC4j server on the same pc. This week I installed 9iAS to simulate the installprocess which should be due next week. Everything works fine; deploying seems to be a peace of cake... until I realized that the customer's database,
host etc. are not the same as in my testing environment.I tried to create a connection in JDeveloper with the customer's database hostname and SID. This
does not work; the host is not known in my development enviroment. So how can I create an EAR file with the correct connection (ie, pointing to customer's host
and SID)?

You could use datasources. You should do this in your BC4J Configuration. Then when deploying your applicaiton use the command -installDataSource (from admin.jar) to create the right datasource.
You could probably use the name of your connection + "DS" so you can also use it locally in JDeveloper as JDev seesm to create this automaticly for your Connections.

I think we are in a bad neighborhood of Flex. Here's what I

server or hard drive. I know that's brute force and not what you
are looking for but it is a start. There was some discussion about
Active X which I am not a fan of either. Oh Well...
