How to handle a running number field in the report?  How to format it to be (a), (b),

Hi,
I'm very new in Oracle Report...
Does anybody know how to generate a running number in oracle report? for eg. 1,2,3,4....
Is there anyway to format these running number to i,ii,iii,iv,v,vi.... or a,b,c,d,e....
Thanks

Here is one way to do this:
In the data model create a function and a placeholder in the group you want the numbers/letters to show. Set the placeholder name to cp_count and the datatype to number. Set the formula's formula to read:
:cp_count := nvl(:cp_count,0) + 1;
return :cp_count;
And in the conditional formatting property of the field you want to show 1,2,3 or i,ii,iii in the layout editor add either:
srw.set_format_mask ('RN');
or
srw.set_format_mask ('NNN');
return true;
I couldn't figure out how to get the a,b,c one'es to work easily. You can put in a large IF statement to return a for 1, b for 2, as in "if :cp_count = 1 then return 'A'
Hope this helps

  • Add Prodcution order number field on the Create/ maintain inspection lot

    Hello,
Can some one please guide me how to add production order  number field on the QA01/02/ and 03 transaction codes?
    Thank you!
    Khan

What are you trying to do exactly?
The production order number only becomes available in QA01 when you select 04 as the inspection type you are creating.  You can't populate this field using any other inspection types.
When using QA02 or QA03 you can use the drop down match codes to search for an inspection and I beleive you can use the production order number in one of the match code screens to select a lot.

  • How can i make PO number field as a mandatery in sales order

    Hi Friends,
can any one help me for the following requirement
how can i make PO number field as a mandatery in sales order
    Thanks
    Nitchel

    Hi
You have to include the "Purchase Order" field in the Incompletion list.
Purchase order field is a Header data in the Sales order.
So you have to create an Incompletion Procedure for Sales document Header.
There include the field "Purchase order" field, assign the "Status group" to it.
You may activate the error/warning check box.
Assign the Incompletion Procedure to your Sales document type.
Go to Sales document type VOV8 and activate the "Incompletion message" field so that without entering PO number you can not proceed.
Now whenever you will create an order (using the order type where you have assigned the procedure), you have to fill up the PO field or else you can proceed.

  • I want to add some fields in the report of FBL5N, Can anybody tell me how ?

I want to add some fields in the report of FBL5N, Can anybody tell me how to do it?
The fields are sales order, delivery, order quantity, net value and others.
I can only find the shipment number in FI document.
    Thank you very much.

    Dear Jie,
Billing document number can be displayed in customer line item display
(FBL5N) and not in G/L line item display (FBL3N).
The value of VBELN is saved in table BSEG. So, this means, you
have to define the field BSEG-VBELN as a special field in table
T021S. Then you can use it in FBL3N, because then the report looks
    directly in BSEG-VBELN.
For further information, please read the SAP note 207436. You don't have to
implement the coding corrections, if they are already in your system
with the hotpackage. But it explains very detailed the system
behaviour. The example in the note with field EBELN could be
    replicated on your field VBELN.
About the MEINS field, please refer to 1-U_MEINS (bseg-meins field).
The SAP note 215798 may also be helpful.

  • Tracking number field in the Default settings for items section

I need to add the tracking number field in the Default settings for items section in the shopping cart creation transaction.
Could you please tell me inw hich structure should I add the custom field ?
    thanks,
    Rita.

    Hi Atul,
I added the code of tracking number in in the html template saplbbp_mon_sc 1200 with reference to the code of purchase org field.
This added a field in the shopping cart report selection screen but without any description.
I will further learn html code and try to bring in the description and then try to handle this field in the badi bbp_mon_sc after_selection_screen and after_selection method.
    Is this approach ok?

    Hi All,
What is the relationship b/w the PO number field in the SO creation screen(va01) and the sales order .
Can we maintain a specific number range for the PO Number??
If yes where do we maintain the setting?
    Cheerzz..
    Subbz..

    Hello,
This is nothing to do with a SAP purchase order, and you can't maintain any number range for the same as it is not a system proposed one.
Imagine, the customer is sending a purchase order to you, and you are creating a sales order. We can give a reference to the customers PO number in this filed. It doesn't have any effect.
It is widely used in reporting.

  • Number field on crystal report displays Exponential form.

Number Type field on crystal report printed in Exponential form when digits in this field are more than 17.

    Hi Jay,
The same issue is addressed in the K-Base article c2005336. This is the limitation in Crystal, If you have more than 15 digits of numberic field it will convert into Exponential
Use database-level syntax to convert the numeric database field to a string so that Crystal Reports will interpret it as a string type, and display all of the characters.
For example, in Oracle, cast the number using to_char() and in Microsoft SQL Server use CAST() or STR() prior to adding the field to the report.
As a workaround to display all the number, I would suggest you to convert it to text using a SQL Expression Field. A SQL Expression field will be evaluated on the database server.
I would suggest you to follow the below mentioned steps to create SQL Expression field and convert a database field to a string:
    1. Open the report.
    2. Right click the SQL Expression field which is present in the Field Explorer.
    3. Select New and copy and past the below-mentioned text.
    CAST ("Database Field" as varchar)
Note u201CDatabase Fieldu201D Here you have to mention your database field.
After you create the SQL Expression Field, insert it on the report and it will display the full number.
Please note that no calculation can be made on that field since it is now a string.
    I hope this helps you.

  • How to insert a new field in the Report Designer

    Hi all.
I have a query and a report, but the query evolve.
We have a new key figure (inside rows).
In the report designer, I check the data provider.
The new key figure is added in the catalog field.
Now, I would like to insert the new field in the report.
I add a new row in the report structure but it isnt what I want.
In this case, I add a second row inside an another keys figures block.
I want to create a new block for my new key figure
    Thanks for your help
    Céline

Yes, key figures is in the field catalog.
But When I do that " Insert a row ", Report designer create a " row 2 " below another key figures.
    And it isn't what I want. I want a new block .
For exemple in the tab report structure (My new key figure is "Margin")
    I do that
Group Level 1 : key figures
             Detail Area
                      Sales Amount
                                   row1
                                          cell1
                                          cell2
                      Cost
                                   row1
                                          cell1
                                          cell2
row2 ( the new row added)
                                          cell1
                                          cell2
    But I want that:
Group Level 1 : key figures
             Detail Area
                      Sales Amount
                                   row1
                                          cell1
                                          cell2
                      Cost
                                   row1
                                          cell1
                                          cell2
                     Margin
                                   row1
                                          cell1
                                          cell2

  • Crystal Report Bursting based on a field in the report

    Hi,
I have a crystal report with  Invoice Number as a field in it.  I need to burst the report with following as the output.
    1. Destination: FTP server
    2.  Format : PDF : One PDF for every invoice.
I was trying to use Publication through Infoview.  I would like to know how to achieve this.
I do not have any parameters in the report or any group of users/recipients.  Hence, I have not created any Profiles.
    Thanks in advance.
    Girish

Add your CR report as source document and then choose to have Dynamic recipients for your publication. Use there as source for the recipients' list the same report you want to burst. As Recipient identifier select the field that contains the invoice ID.
In the personalization panel go to the Filters area and select in the Report field drop down your invoice field from the report. In the Dynamic recipients mapping drop down select again the field containing the invoice ID.
Select the appropriate settings in the destination and format panels and let at least on BO user subscribe to the publication .
After that you can run the publication.

  • Sending reports to various recipients using a data field on the report

    Hi,
I am currently running Crystal Reports Server 2008 with SP 3  applied.
I was wondering if this was possible.
I have a report that I would like to be sent to an email address field on the table that the report runs from. Fields are something like this:
Amount Due, Invoice #, Client's email address, Date
What I would like CRS to do is send out emails depending on what's on the table. Obviously I would need the server to send out the report to a particular client with only the records that should be for them.
I, for some reason, thought there was an ability to add a field from the report on the email itself using brackets or some sort of variable but I'm not sure if this is true.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it greatly.
    Thanks!

You can use Publications for that. As far as I know this should be supported natively in CRS 2008 with SP3.
Take a look at the demo on building a data-driver publication here:
    http://www.sap.com/solutions/sap-crystal-solutions/information-infrastructure/sapcrystalserver/featuresfunctions/index.epx
You have to have CALs (concurrent access licenses) though.

  • Binding an SQL "where" clause to a field in the report.

    Hello everybody,
I have made a crystal report that works fine. Now, I need to add a specific query to the report and drag and drop the returned fields in the report.
The problem is that I need to add a query that contains a "Where" clause that is binded to a field already existing in the report, for example :
    SELECT T0.Field1,
                  T0.Field2,
                  T0.Field3
    FROM Table1 T0
WHERE T0.Field4=(a field from a report)
Is it possible to do it ? if yes, how can I do it.
Thank you in advance for your further responds,
    Best Regards,
    - Youssef -

    Moved to Report Design forum
You can't do it in that specific way. It would have to be done server side or use a subreport and then link the subreport on the field from the main report.

  • Adding the G/L description field in the report FAGLL03

    Dear all
I would like to add the G/L description field in the report FAGLL03. Can you tell me how this can be done.
    Many thanks
    PG

    Hi Peter,
You can do the changes as per Moeze suggestion.
What we have did is that we have writeen a exit in substitution rule for the offsetting G/L code (assumptioning that you want the description for offsetting g/l code).
We have added the offsetting g/l code in special feild and accordingly the system displays the corresponding description of the offsetting g/l code.
    Try it,it will work.
If not do revert for the needful.
    Take Crae

  • Column Headings in the report and adding an extra field to the report

    Hi All.
I had an issue like i need to put column headings for a report and I want to add an extra field to the report.
The problem here is that the report was actually cloned from a Query. At the time of cloning, they forgot to add the column headings.
Now we need to add the column headings for the same. How can we proceed for this and where we need to add our code?
How to add an extra field  to the existing report?
Any pointers will be very much helpful.
    Regards,
    SSR.

    Hi,
you can get this done in 2 ways:
1 - Change the query to add another column and the re-generate the report
2 - If changing query is not possible, you can change the report it self for adding extra field. If you look at the code, it will be more like normal ABAP code. you can easily modify it (If you are ABAPer) for your additional requirements.
    thnx,
    ags.

  • How to pass values to be displayed on the report?

I have an ASP.Net page that has values from the user that needs to be displayed in the page header of the report. Those values need to be passed to the report.
I am using Crystal Reports 2011.  The code behind for ASP.Net page is written in VB.Net.
I had thought of using Parameter fields in the report and using the SetParameterValue method of ReportDocument but I am not familiar with using Parameter fields.
How to set up the report to do this?
    Sincerely,
    Keith Jackson

    Hi Keith
DJ has some very good suggestions, but the first thing we want to do is to make sure the report works in the designer as you want it to. Reading this thread, I'm a bit unsure if the report does actually work in the designer - can you please comment on that?
If it does, I like to go from simple as far as coding is concerned. In this case, that would mean not worrying about the parameters or logon and let the report engine do the heavy lifting for us:
Create a new project. Throw a CR viewer on a form and add one line of code in page load:
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = <path to the report>
The engine will prompt for the db logon as well as the parameters. Fill those out. The report should then display on the screen.
From here we can get fancy and add DB logon code as well as the parameter code.
