How to print onto a legal size paper

I'm trying to print a document sent to me as an original PDF 8.5 x 16 document onto a legal size page (8.5 x 14).  I don't have the advanced skills necessary to print in Adobe beyond the basics, and don't have the time to take a course or read the confusing help instructions (e.g., "tiling", "scaling").  I'm hoping someone on this board can simply tell me how to print this document step-by-step.  I have Windows XP with Acrobat Pro 9.0
Your assistance is greatly appreciated!

Using AA9, these are the steps I just used to create a 8.5X14 page from another PDF (Note: any bookmarks and links will be lost and would have to be replaced):
1. Opened the PDF in Acrobat.
2. Select FILE>Print
3. Select the Adobe PDF printer.
4. Select printer properties.
5. On Adobe PDF Settings tab, you may select the press (Press Quality) or print (High Quality Print) job options.
6. On either of the other tabs select the Advanced button.
7. Under Paper/Output>Paper Size, select Legal.
8. OK back to the print menu and select Page Scaling=>Fit to Printable Area.
9. OK to print -- select the file name and location, hopefully with successful results. (I checked the PDF I created from a Letter size and it was 8.5X14)

  • How to force a printer to use legal size paper.

Oracle Reports has had a problem since the earliest versions. It doesn't handle different paper sizes well. We have a report
written in the 2.5 version of reports. If you specify LEGAL in the page setup, everything prints great. If you call the report
from a form it always prints using the default papersize for the printer. Selecting a paper tray is not an option because the
printer in question has only one tray bay and if it requests legal, you have to put a different tray in (HP4V). I put in a tar about
it and the response was setup a special PRT file to handle legal. The problem is that the PRT and the before and after printer
codes are only used it you have a character report. If you have a bitmapped report they are ignored (not oracles finest moment).
Does anyone have any ideas of functions that can help (are you listening Duncan Mills?)

I found a methoid that while clumsy, works. I have defined another printer on my windows machine that points to the same
printer as my original printer defination. I have named this printer "Legal" and has defined legal paper as it's default. When
I print to this printer( DECTYPE, DECNAME) it now defaults to legal.

  • Printing "Legal" size paper on both sides

I have an Officejet 7680 All-in-One that I'm unable to print on both sides of "legal" size paper.
Can print on just one side just right and proper.  However, even when "clicking" the appropriate boxes/items,
"legal" size stock wil print on one side only......(There's gotta be a four letter word to cover this situation!)
Pray tell, how did I screw this one up?????

  • Printing on legal size paper

I have an hp psc1210 and I can print on legal size paper from my desktop, but when I am on my laptop that is on the network, I can't print on legal size paper.  If I am using word perfect, the software automatically adjusts the bottom margin to 3.48" so that only what is visable on a letter size page is printed and in word it cuts off any characters below the letter size area.  Any suggestions for solving this problem?

    hi there,
It seems that you have a software incompatibility between your word perfect and the psc, pls. try these steps:
add a universal driver on your computer
=open printers and faxes or printers
    =click add a printer
    =select add a local printer
=if your printer is connected via usb cable on your desktop, pls select on use existing ports and choose usb virtual port xxx
=if your desktop is connected via ethernet cable, pls.select create a new port and choose standard tcp/ip port and click next
(for network connection only: if it will ask to enter your ip address pls. print the ip address from your printer and enter it on the computer) and click next
=if it will ask for the manufacturer, pls. select hp on the left
=on the right side find hp deskjet 990c and click next
    =use existing driver
    =set as default printer
=you can rename the printer to psc 1210
    =try printing again
if the issue still not resolved, uninstall and reinstall the printer software
    pls. reply for further assistance

  • Laserwriter IIf, Tiger, legal size paper printing problem

I have a Laserwriter IIf and use manual feed to print on legal size paper. Since I upgraded to Tiger I am unable to properly print on legal size paper using either Word or PDF files. The top 3 inches or so of the document are missing. I have another computer on the network using OS 10.1.5 and legal size documents print correctly from it. I have tried both of the Laserwriter IIf drivers (v2010.130 and v2010.113). I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. And also, can anyone tell me the difference in the two drivers??
    Thanks
      Mac OS X (10.4.2)

    (v2010.130 and v2010.113)
Those are the two versions of the PostScript ROMs that were shipped in LaserWriter IIf and IIg printers. The vast majority were the .113 version. If you "configure automatically" in printer set up, it will go ask the printer which one it has, and configure the driver correctly. The differences are fairly subtle in normal use.
    On the letter/legal problem:
It may be that your new Mac OS is not saving (or not correctly interpreting) the page setup stored with your documents. If that were the case, re-selecting the paper size you want in Page Setup or the print dialog box should rectify the situation.

  • Photoshop can't print legal-size image to legal-size paper

I go through a lot of sketch stages to get to a final picture, and I sometimes print on legal paper. My Brother printer does fine at that with Apple Pages, MSWord, Acrobat, and Illustrator, but with Photoshop there's a problem. I set up a legal-size image in PS, go through all the settings I can find for printing to a non-letter-format sheet, hit print, and what I get is a letter-size patch of image on a legal-size sheet. Clearly, either I am missing something or PS is missing something. Any ideas or suggestions?

The problem persists. This has gone on for months, but now I've updated to OSX 10.9.1 and the latest Brother printer drivers. I still get legal sheets bearing letter-sized information. So far, the only answer anyone has had is to check every possible place where the paper size is defined. Right. How many of those are there? 2? 3? 4? See attached screen grab: I don't know what it's doing there, but the black patch at the bottom of the image corresponds to the cutoff area on the print. It shows up when I check the box "Print selected area". Otherwise, all the sizes and labels i can find are legal-paper sizes and labels. So how do I get rid of the black box? Note that, below, the "Print selected area" box is unchecked

  • Acrobat Scanning with CM1312nfi MFP. Can't change from legal size paper

I've had the same problem with mulitple versions of Adobe Acrobat, but most recenlty with version XI Standad.
All my scans using the Acobat interface result in legal size scans using the ADF, instead of letter size.   When I try to "Configure Preset"  the Paper Size is set to "Automatic" and there are no other options available in the drop down box.
I have to do a custom scan and manually select the paper size using the HP interface, but I would like to use the Acrobat interface instead due to the volume of scans I perform.
In Acrobat the Scanner is identified as "WIA- HP CLJ CM1312 Scan".   I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and Acrobat, but the problem persists.
    All help appreciated.  Thanks.

Not sure if this is the same problem I'm having. I have a HP C5180, and when I go to print I get all the necessary options (by dropping down the traingle as advised above), and all's great..... apart from the Source tray is always set to Main Tray instead of the Photo.
I can change it each time I print, but it won't stay defaulted to Photo Tray even when I save or 'Save as' a new Preset. I have tried to overwrite the default ones, but no go, and also saved as a new Preset, but it still doesn't come up as the default selection next time I go in to print.
Sounds easy enough to cope with I know, but I've set it up for a 84 year old to print from and I don't expect she'll manage to do this change every time.

  • How to print photobook pages into A4 paper

how do we print the photobook pages we made from Aperture after saving as PDF format. The PDF file when open in Adobe PDF is showing each single page only and it does not show 2 pages spread out like we saw in the Aperture photobook layout. do i need to use another program to do the layout beofre printing out in an A4 paper? I intent to do a layflat photobook which require the sticking of the pages for binding later. someone pleeas help. thank you.

I have give a several try to your new instruction but the gap is there no matter how i set the paper size. I gave an example of this page layout of 2.5in x 2.5 in . If i read your article correctly , my total page size is suppose to be 5inx5in.
Just look at the image and i had try out 2 custom setting in the paper size . You will notice the difference of these two layout after i open the preview for PDF.
the first one, the paper size remain as original as it is (2.5inx2.5in per page) .The image is pretty close side by side but the gap can still noticeable.
The second image is using your instructions earlier (When you export your book define a custom paper size that is exactly the size of two pages of your open book. That you define in the "Manage Custom Sizes"-entry of the "Paper Size" selector of the Print panel) - the result = it shrank to smaller size and left a huge gap in between those image. The paper size was set as 5inx5in per page.
Thanks again but still not resolve.

  • How do I do a custom size paper?

I am trying to print my wedding invitations on paper that is 10x6.5 and keep getting an error message from the printer that the paper does not match the selected size.  The size I need is not an option and there is not an option for a custom size.  Is there any way to create a custom size?  I already purchased all of my stationary.  Thanks!

    There is a workaround.
Install an alternate driver by going to this post, How to Assign Alternate Print Drivers in Different Versions of Windows.
Once that is installed you can do a custom print size, Create Custom Paper Sizes.

  • RG1 printing format for A4 size paper with all records

RG1 register print not showing all details (Qty.) through J2i6 and no proper printing format for A4 size.
Is there any std. printing format for RG1 ?
Please give the std. ready format for RG1....
    THANKS.

Your subject title mentions A4 sized paper, the body mentions US Letter size.
Assuming you want one half of a letter-size for each page, create the page size as portrait, 5.5" wide, 8.5" tall.
Thread in logical order, page 1 through...how many ever pages. You should have a page count evenly divisible by 4.
Export to PDF as normal...single pages.
Open the PDF in Acrobat or Reader, print the booklet from it.

  • How to print red color in plain paper?

When printed on glossy papers, red color (in photo or text) looks great.
When I print on non-photo, plain papers, red color came out brownish.
I tried on premium ink jet papers, it does not print red but in brown color.
How can I print red color in plain paper?

When dealing with printing ink, R=100m+100y+0c+0k. What drives the color toward rust, maroon, and brown is the addition of c to the mix. That may be the result of the diffuse reflection of the uncoated paper surface, its absorb rate, the ink chemistry and – the light source. Since the easiest variable to test is the light source, look at that color using a source weak in blue emission, incandescent light, and watch the red shift. Remember also that the reflected color will never be as bright as paper it is printed on. Each ink film is a filter subtracting light from the paper reflection.
Shown above (with a mode change to RGB for the purpose of this display) is its version of 100 each of m+ y  and a patch with the unwanted c

  • How to print on both sides of paper

I have HP 3050A wireless printer. How to print on both sides of paper

This printer does not do auto duplexing. The only way to print on both sides of the page is to print one side, put the paper back in manually, and then print the next page. If you have something say 10 pages long, you can also print only odd pages, then only even pages tospeed it up.

  • How to print equipment documents in shop paper

    Hi Gurus,
I`ve maintain DMS to some of the equipments and those were scheduled in maintenace plans.SO whenever work order gets created based on the schedule....documents should also automatically get printed along wih the shop paper.
This is my requirement because users dont want to spend time on printing the documents manually.
    Any user exits ?
Help would greatly appreciated with rewards.
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Vijay,
We did something similar but in user-exit IWO10009 (at save).
The reason for using this user-exit and not the BADI described above is because we required a popup box displaying the options for printing. The user could then choose which documents to print.
