This statement, which is forbidden in classes, converts the content of the data object source to the data type p of length 16 without decimal places. The data type of source must be character-type, flat, and its content must be interpretable as a numeric value. The data type of destination must be flat. If destination has the data type p, the interim result is assigned to it from left to right. If destination does not have the data type p, the interim result is converted to the data type of destination according to the rules in the conversion table for source field type p.
Notes:
The function of the statement PACK is based on the second half-byte of the code corresponding to a character in most character representations of the BCD representation for the corresponding numeric value. This compilation is generally known as "packing".
If the source field contains a number without a decimal separator, and the target field has dobj2 of data type p with sufficient length and without decimal places, the result of the PACK statement (which is forbidden in classes) corresponds to the result of the statement MOVE.

In a real-world application, no.
In a RW application, a typical need is merely to know the "logical role" of the button (i.e., the button that validates the form, regardless of whether its text is "OK" or "Save", "Go",...). Text tends to vary much more than the structure of the UI over time.
In this case you can get the source's name (+getName()+), which will be the name that you've set to the button at UI construction time. Or you can compare the source for equality with either button ( +if evt.getSource()==okButton) {...}+ ).
All in all, I think the best solution is: don't use the same ActionListener for more than one action (+i.e.+ don't add the same ActionListener to all your buttons, which leads to a big if-then-else series in your actionPerformed() ).
Eventually, if you're listening to a single button's actions, whose text change over time (e.g. "pause"/"resume" in a VCR bar), I still think it's a bad idea to rely on the text of the button - instead, this text corresponds to a logical state (resp. playing/paused), it is more maintainable to base your logic on the state - which is more resilient to the evolutions of the UI (e.g. if you happen to use 2 toggle buttons instead of one single play/pause button).

How to use the separate symbol in the text field in the adobe form.

I dont know how to use the separate symbol to make a paragraph separate into several lines correctly in the text field in the adobe form.
Action:
1. config the ADS successfully.
2. create the adobe form with a mult-line textfield(binding the 'remark' context in the interface of the form) using sfp.
3. create a WDA for invoke the form and transfer the 'remark' context data.
I use the following codes to display the paragraph in the PDF document:

If it is just a one word value then you could use this in the exist event;
this.rawValue
= util.printx(">?<*",this.rawValue);
This changes the first character (represented by the ?) to uppercase (represented by the >) and all trailing characters (represented by the *) to lowercase (represented by the <).
If you wanted something more general ... if they could also enter a middle name then you could call a function like;
function toTitleCase(textValue)
return textValue.toLowerCase().replace(/\b[a-z]/g, function replacer(match) { return match.toUpperCase(); });
This uses a regex to change all lowercase letters following a word boundary to uppercase.

but i m like to populate the Referance Field which is exist in Header part of the Cr Memo (Benith the TYPE).
So plz help me,
that which column of the RA_INTERFACE_LINE_ALL populates ,that gave me a data in the Referance Field .
However this referance field is carried out from the table.Column =RA_CUSTOMER_TRX_ALL.ct_reference

How to place two text fields on the same line in adobe

I am trying to create a form on adobe and I would like to have two unique text fields on the same line. Is this posible?

If you are using FormsCentral it is, the fields can be placed "side by side" in a row. There is a "+" sign on the right side of the field that brings up a toolbar to add a field adjacent. You can also right click on a field and select "Insert beside", or you can "drag and drop" fields next to one another or to a new row.

PS - One note, if you are using the "desktop" application of FormsCentral that comes with Acroat Pro XI make sure the application is up to date by either using the "Help" - "Check for updates" menu item or by signing into the application so that you have the latest features including the side by side layout.

Field Length of the text field on the screen

Hello Experts,,
I have field with its label on the screen. Now the label text is picked up from data dictionary as defined.
Data element       J_3ARQDA                       Active
Short Description: Requested delivery date

Heading         5        Dldat
Now the text in different laguage say russian is quite bigger in length as compared to english ones. Now on the sales order screen i have the text 'Dldat', but the russian user needs a bigger word than just 'Dldat'.
Approach : I changed the heading length to some '25' from '5' to accomedate the russian text in DDIC for data element. But if i have to adjust the same on the screen with new text length i have to extend the screen border as well.
Is this right approach ? If not how do we actually accomedate the other language texts on the screen with out altering the screen borders ( length and breadth).

I tried doing that with a couple of invoices but I dont see the Long text printed on the check after the automatic payment run. Can you please suggest me if I am missing on anything. I inserted a long text and a '*" before this to have it printed on the check which does not seem to work. Can you please suggest me alternative solution.

what Text field you want to change.
Since you are working with Dynpros , you have to split the screen in two parts, and one for the Showing differenet fonts and other your normal Dynpro information.
you need to use the Method ADD_TEXT Did you check the program DD_STYLE_TABLE.

Where are your terms and conditions? It would be very easy just to put them in a database table and select them in your report query.

How to auto-complete text field in the form?

I have a table CustTable that has 2 columns:
1. Column_A
2. Column_B
I have a form that has 2 fields:
1. Field_A - Lookup Field - it takes data from a custom table lookup (Lookup Query: SELECT Column_A from CustTable) - it works fine.
2. Field_B - Text Field - I would like to autocomplete this field (as value from Column_B) based on the value selected in the Field_A (SELECT Column_B from CustTable where Column_A = "value from Field_A") - is it possible to autocomplete a text field ?
I have made it using 2 lookup fields and it works, but then user has to make a select on the lookup twice and I would like to make it only once.

I don't think w/o UI Customization it is possible.
UI customization won't be a small one as it is a common wizard and used at multiple places. So it will be a huge work.

Any way to expand the text fields in the properties menu?

Don't see that they made this bar adjustable and they gave critical field boxes like links, alt and SRC a very short set of visible characters and so entering things like long links and image names is not easy. Thought this was a Mac conversion thing, but I also know it's this way on PC.

Same here. I always use the Property Inspector (PI) for those things. Always have. That's what it's there for.
Once again, it doesn't bother you that the field boxes only show about 10 characters, so that anything else you type or paste in has to be scrolled to make sure you input the link correctly? Sounds like afterthought to me - you can't possible read even the shortest URL.
I never type in those fields.
I paste, or use Browse to File or Point to File.
They're always filled out correctly that way.
I find the tooltip another step to take. I come from GoLive, where all this was so clear and easy, plus the fact that it could autofill the http://, saving even more time.
The tooltip is just a quick and easy cross-check - not a step as such.
I rarely use http:// links in the PI. Usually site root relative or doc relative.

I would like to have item, :P1_JOB_NO blink when the difference between sysdate and :P1_DATE_DUE < 7 days.
I can identify the job_no which should blink by using the sql statement:

But I dont know the proper syntax to make it blink,
or when to plug the syntax into.

How to remove the automatically generated text fields from the InfoSet

I followed the procedure by SAP help.
Automatically generated text fields are marked with a 'T' on the icon in the InfoSet. You can remove the automatically generated text fields from the InfoSet in the initial screen of the InfoSet maintenance under Further Functions -> Delete Text Fields. Cancel the DataSource creation on the next screen and delete the text fields in the InfoSet maintenance transaction.
I know that there is an option "No automatic text recognition" when I create a new InfoSet, however, I couldn't find out how to change an existed InfoSet. I checked menu Goto->Global Properties, but that option is disabled. Is there a way to remove text fields from an existed InfoSet?

In the initial screen (when you enter transaction code SQ02) type your infoset name and goto menu: Infoset -> More functions -> Delete text fields. this will delete all text fields.

This has nothing to do with JSF.
I suggest you to read the Pattern API documentation [1]. You can easily create a small Java Application and test the regexp using String#matches() as it uses the same regexp guidelines.
