How to setup Java3D in Linux?

Is anyone use Java3D in linux,can you help me?

You can find installation instructions together with the J3D-package from blackdown.org. To say it in some words: you have to "cd" into the directory where your JRE (for the J3D RT) or JDK (for the J3D SDK) is located into. Then execute the J3D .bin-file. It unpacks its files to the correct positions.

  • How do setup FlexUnit in your CI build process on 64-Bit Linux

    Hello everyone. I am trying to setup FlexUnit in my build process and am using Rackspace cloud servers for my build server. I only have the option of Linux 64 bit distros or Windows 32b/64b. I started setting up and configuring everything on Linux but ran into problems installing the required stand alone player for test execution using FlexUnit. There is no 64-bit linux compatitble version of the stand alone player. In configuring the system to use the browser plugin on the machine instead of the stand alone player for executing the tests, I then get a manual interaction component which doesn't fit well with an automated CI build.
    Am I the only person out there trying to integrate FlexUnit into my CI process on a 64b Linux machine? Any pointers, tips, workarounds or general hypothetical ideas would be great!

    @mbbender - Answers below:
    > I have been able to get the Flash Plugin working in a browser on my 64b Ubuntu 10.4 system. However, from my understanding I can not use the flash plugin from a browser to properly execute a headless execution of my tests during the CI process. To execute the tests as part of the CI process I need the Flash Stand Alone Player.
    -- As of FlexUnit 4.1-beta2, you have the option of executing your tests using the stand-alone debug Flash Player using the default mechanism to launch that player or using a custom command, which could potentially point to the browser.  Check out the docs on the Ant task @ http://docs.flexunit.org/index.php?title=Ant_Task#Usage and the sample CI build using a browser @ http://github.com/flexunit/flexunit/blob/master/FlexUnit4SampleCIProject/build.browser.xml for more details on how to do this.
    > Are you saying that I can somehow use the Flash Plugin dependencies to install the Flash Stand Alone Player? If so, would I then need a 32b emulator wrapper for running the Stand Alone Player?  Or, are you suggesting that I can somehow use the Flash Plugin in the browser to do what I need to execute my tests during the Hudson build?
    -- Although I'm not a savvy Linux admin, it's my understanding that recent 64-bit Linux distros can execute 32-bit applications as well as 64-bit applications.  The only req I'm aware of is that the 32-bit version of the dependencies must be available.  In this case, executing the 32-bit version of the SA player should work from what I understand.
    > Do you have a CI build process setup on a Linux 64b CentOS system with FlexUnit? To be honest, I'm more concerned with the end result right now than learning how to do it on my own and would like to know if you can potentially help me get this done a little quicker if you are interested.
    -- I currently have a setup using 64-bit CentOS and running the 32-bit SA player, although it's not on Adobe's proper list of supported OSes.  We've worked with other folks who have the 32-bit SA player running with FlexUnit on Ubuntu 64-bit.  There was some feedback on some issues using older versions of openSUSE, but I don't know too many details re: the problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle 10g to sql server 2005 - how to setup

    Hi,
    I have been searching on how to setup a connection from oracle 10g to sql server 2005 and i have to admit i am struggling a bit.
    I have read about Heterogeneous Services and Database Gateway but we really dont want to fork for licence fees so it looks like i have to investigate HS.
    My environment is:
    10gR2 Linux 32 bit
    SQL Server 2005 32bit.
    Would someone be able to provide me with a list of steps to help me get this setup?
    Thanks.
    B

    Hi,
    If you don't want to pay for any licence fees then you will have to use the 11g Database Gateway for ODBC (DG4ODBC) which is included in your RDBMS license.
    You need to use the 11g versions because all previous gateway versions have been desupported for some time. The latest version is 11.2.0.3 which can be downloaded from My Oracle Support as -
    Patch 10404530: 11.2.0.3.0 PATCH SET FOR ORACLE DATABASE SERVER
    and download -
    p10404530_112030_platform_5of7.zip
    - this is the Gateway media pack and has everything needed for a standalone gateway install.
    This version is certified the following RDBMS versions - 10.1.0.5 + RDBMS patch 5965763, 10.2.0.3 + RDBMS patch 5965763, 10.2.0.4, 10.2.0.5, all 11.1 versions, all 11.2 versions.
    You have 2 choices about where you can install it and it would be better to install the gateway into a new and separate ORACLE_HOME from any existing Oracle installs -
    1. On the Linux 32-bit platform where the RDBMS is running. If you install it here you will need to supply a third party ODBC driver. The only free one I am aware of is from FreeTDS but there may be others. There can be problems with the FreeTDS so another one may be preferable but these usually require a license fee.
    See this note in My Oracle Support -
    How to Configure DG4ODBC on Linux x86 32bit or on HP-UX RISC (DG4ODBC 11.1 only) to Connect to Non-Oracle Databases post install (Doc ID 466228.1)
    2. Install DG4ODBC on the Windows platform where SQL*Server is running. If you install on Windows then you will be able to use the Microsoft SQL*Server ODBC driver which should already be installed. See this note on My Oracle Support -
    How to Setup DG4ODBC (Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC) on Windows 32bit (Doc ID 466225.1)
    If you don't have access to My Oracle Support you will need to contact someone in your organisation to access the notes for you or review the gateway documentation -

    Can't get Form Action to work on my local machine e.g. <form action="index.php" method="POST">.
    I also tried on a fresh Arch Linux install (in case there was a config problem).
    How to setup. Do I need to download something?
    Example:
    This works fine one server, but not in my local:

    View contect (test.php):
    http://www.user-contributions.org/test/test.php.txt

    <?php

    Should probably be
    <?php
    echo $_REQUEST['mydropdown"'];

    Dont know why I didn't see it sooner. Your other host must have automatic variable assignment setup for get and post variables (ie register globals). which is bad bad bad...

  • How to setup local FTP

    Earlier I asked how to setup LAN
    http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=12874
    How to upload files on LAN? How to configure?

    For a long time I have used FTP for LAN file transfers. Actually I am running NFS for my Linux Desktop and Samba for my roommate.
    A FTP service is very fast and easy to set-up and can be used by windows or Linux. I you just want to transfer file or do some backups, this is great ! vsftpd is the fastest and most secure ftp sever I have saw until now. Well documented too. Actually you have to read documentation if you want it to work with your local system users on your server. Unless you already know how to configure vsftpd... It is quite easy actually.
    proftpd works out of the box with local system users non chrooted. Just pacman -Sy proftpd then /etc/rc.d/proftpd start and you have a nice ftp server. If you want to open your server to the world, I strongly recommend vsftpd !
    FTP is ok for sharing small amount of files not accessed too often. For sharing large amount of files, you are better with NFS for Linux and Samba for Windows. I you need help with these, just ask !

  • Help! Confusion over how to setup intel3945 wireless and rc.conf

    Hi,
    I'm very confused.  I've already read through all the wikis and searched many forum posts.  I can't get my wireless intel3945 to work on my dell vostro 1400.
    Iwconfig says the wireless card is at wlan0 and dmesg | grep iwl says it has detected it.  However, when I try a iwlist wlan0 scan it returns :
    wlan0 Interface doesn't support scanning : Network is down
    I think the problem is that I don't know how to setup rc.conf correctly or use the command line to test the wireless.  Forum posts say many different things on how this is done.
    These are the steps I have taken:
    uninstalled the ipw3945 and ipw3945-ucode and ipw3945d.
    installed iwlwifi and iwlwifi-3945-ucode
    in my rc.conf modules, added iwl3945.
    I'm not sure how to setup the networking section, this what I have now:
    lo="lo 127.0.01"
    eth0="dhcp"
    wlan0="dhcp"
    INTERFACES=(lo etho)
    gateway="default gw 192.168.1.1"
    ROUTES=(!gateway)
    And in my dameons I have 'network'.
    How can I scan for networks and connect to them on the commandline?  I'd prefer not to use a gui tool because they never work and never tell me why they're not working.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Cheers!

    broch wrote:I have ipw3945 and iwl3945 working with wpa2 (or vpn)
    (less complicatd than the above)
    don't use netcfg2
    Why?
    no particular reason.
    Simply when I configured wireless, netcfg2 wasn't available. Since then it (wireless) works, so not having any problems, I did not modify network setup. Next week or so I am going to install Arch on my daughter's laptop (per her request ) so I will try netcfg2.
    So this is what I have for ipw3945 wpa2 or iwl3945 with wpa2
    Below you will find a lot of words so read slowly but there is not much actual work
    ipw3945 setup
    kernel 2.6.23.x (Arch or vanilla)
    or
    kernel 2.6.24/2.6.24-gitX (patched with ipw3945 patch from gentoo -> compiling separate module for 2.6.24 may fail. if you want kernel patch I can post a link)
    for default kernel install Arch packages for ipw3945, ipw3945d, ipw3945-ucode
    or
    if you want to compile modules, you will also need ieee80211 (first uninstall kernel's default, then install from sources otherwise ieee80211 from sources may refuse to install)
    modify /etc/rc.conf
    DAEMONS=(.... @ipw3945d @network ....)
    that is all you don't need to add ipw3945 to MODULES=(.....)
    because ipw3945d will automatically start ipw3945 module
    do not list eth1 in network config section:
    lo="lo 127.0.0.1"
    eth0="dhcp"
    INTERFACES=(eth0)
    as you see, in my case only eth0 (wired) is listed and eth1 (wireless) is not listed
    now you are done with basic network configuration for ipw3945, restart network/computer to bring up ipw3945d/ipw3945
    check if modules are up and basic network is set:
    #lsmod | grep ipw
    #ifconfig -a
    or
    #iwconfig
    if all is o.k. configure
    WPA2:
    configure router for wpa2
    client: basically follow Arch wiki:
    configure wpa_supplicant (installed already of course)
    #wpa_passphrase your_ssid your_psk
    keep terminal window open with created encrypted wpa passphrase  and in the second terminal window edit /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
    ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
    network={
            ssid="your_ssid"
            scan_ssid=1
            proto=WPA RSN
            key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
            pairwise=CCMP TKIP
            group=CCMP TKIP
                    psk=whatever_output_from_wpa_passphrase
    Above pairwise and group setup will depend on your router (network capabilities)
    almost done:
    run
    #wpa_supplicant -Bw -Dwext -i eth1 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
    the above assumes that your ipw3945 is set as eth1 (from iwconfig output)
    to connect to the network I am using "wireless assistant" http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.ph … tent=21832
    that is all for ipw3945. You may automate network starting/connecting to wpa2 by writing simple script.
    iwl3945
    --kernel 2.6.23.x
    install iwlwifi and iwlwifi-3945-ucode
    --kernel 2.6.24.x
    install only iwlwifi-3945-ucode as kernel has iwlwifi module incorporated
    default iwlwifi does not support LED so I suggest to install something like knemo for kde to show active network icon. The latest iwlwifi does support LED but it is not yet incorporated into 2.6.24 vanilla kernel.
    if you have kernel 2.6.23.x with external iwlwifi module
    modify /etc/rc.conf
    and add iwlwifi to
    MODULES=(.....)
    nothing else is required.
    if you have kernel 2.6.24 with integrated iwlwifi module you don't have to edit /etc/rc.conf
    As in the case of ipw3945, I do not list wireless interface (wlan0) in /etc/rc.conf
    for kernel 2.6.23.x
    load module/restart network or simply restart computer
    check if module is up
    #lsmod | grep iwl
    #iwconfig
    or
    #ifconfig -a
    WPA2
    same wpa_supplicant.conf as above, so if you already have it no need for modifications.
    start wpa2
    #wpa_supplicant -Bw -Dwext -i wlan0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
    the only difference in the command is wireless interface: wlan0
    connect to the network, again I am using "wireless assistant"
    vpn
    I am using cisco vpn. Client is provided by vpn host, cisco does not provide vpn client for individual download, but you can find it on line.
    vpn host will provide pcf file for you
    - install vpnclient
    - copy your VPN profile (vpn.pcf) to the
    /etc/CiscoSystemsVPNClient/Profiles
    directory
    -- start vpn client
    /opt/cisco-vpnclient/bin/vpnclient connect vpn pcf_file_name
    provide username and password and off you go
    From my experience none of linux gui for vpn works reliably so you will have to resort to the command line.
    That is all, a lot of writing, but actual ipw3945 and iwl3945 configuration is straightforward and very short.
    Hopefully this will work for you.
    forgot to add regarding vpnclient (cisco)
    you will have to modify
    /etc/init.d/vpnclient_init
    line 38 and line 101
    replace
    /sbin/lsmod
    with
    /bin/lsmod

    How to setup three SharePoint sites on one server?  I have three sites like:
    http://site1

  • How to setup multiple base station under one network?

    How to setup multiple base station under one network? I have 6 rooms but one airport base station makes really difficult to get good signal from every rooms. I wonder if I can setup multiple airport base stations talking to each other under the same network to build up the signal strength will help solve this problem. But, is it possible? How?

    One route would be to utilize a "roaming" network. In a roaming network, you would connect multiple AirPort Extreme Base Stations (AEBS) to the same Ethernet. Of course, this would require that your home is already wired for Ethernet.

  • How to Setup SSL on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1..2)

    Hi All,
    Can anybody tell me How to setup the SSL on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2).
    I have all the required documents like
    1. Oracle Application Server Portal Server Configuration Guide.
    2. Oracle Application Server Web Cache Configuration Guide.
    3. Oracle Application Server SSO Administration Guide.
    I tried to follow all this documents but still i am not able to set SSL for Oracle Portal Server.

    The Portal Configuration Guide, available on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/appserver1012.html does provide some very specific information on how to set up OracleAS Portal.
    Section 6.3.2.1 Configuring SSL for OracleAS Portal describes various configurations, such as:
    SSL to OracleAS Single Sign-On
    SSL to OracleAS Web Cache
    SSL Throughout OracleAS Portal
    External SSL with Non-SSL Within Oracle Application Server
    For larger enterprise configurations, you can refer to the Enterprise Deployment Guide.
    Can you give a bit more background on what you are trying to set up? Which scenario, what sort of hardware, software versions, and so on.
    Regards,
    Pete
