You can use the same account - go in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores if you are on iOS 6) and sign into your existing account (if you created a new account and are logged in with it then tap on that id and log out of it first). You can then use your old account in the same way as you use it on your iPod.

The iPod, iPad & iPhone cables are identical, however, the chargers are not.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

I have one Apple ID for iCloud that is used on multiple devices. Each user has their own Apple ID for Store purchases. Can I use my Apple ID that is NOT my iCloud ID as a way to get my iMessages/FaceTime on multiple devices?

To clarify, we share an iPad (original iOS 5.1.1).
When I use it, I would like to use my individual AppleID that I use for store purchases so I get MY iMessages on both my phone and the iPad.
It seems to work when I use the iCloud Apple ID (meaning iMessages come through on both units) but when I try to set them both up using my store Apple ID, it doesn't work.
Help?!?!

Yes, but "fix" entails replacing yours with a refurbished one at a reduced cost. There is no physical fix in the sense of removing the back unless you were to do that yourself.
Damage caused by you is not covered under the warranty. You can take it to your local Apple retailer to see what can be arranged.

Short answer, yes.
Long answer, it can make things more complicated, especially if you start adding iOS devices to the mix.

My iCloud id is currently the same as my NZ Apple id. I am about to also create a new US Apple id. Should I then create a new iCloud id with it or use the existing one with both Apple IDs? BTW this is for both new iPad and iPhone4.

I already have purchases linked to my existing NZ Apple ID, and will still be using them. However, once the US Apple ID is set up I will use that predominantly from both devices for any new purchases (and Apple TV).
I also understand that iOS5 made a change that says there is a 90 day hold on changing between Apple ID's on the same device. Does anyone know if this is true?

You can use both accounts on your device for Mail, Contacts, Calendars and afew more iCloud services, but you can only set up one account for services like documents and app data, backup and also only one account for iTunes & Store purchases (automatic download option or iTunes Match)

Yes - that's the whole point of iCloud, to keep computers and devices in sync.
Sign into System Preferences>iCloud with your Apple ID on your iMac. Check 'Mail', 'Contacts', 'Calendars' and any other data types you want to sync. You will be asked to create an @icloud.com address. Give it all time to transfer your data to the iCloud server.
When you get to work, sign in in the same way, and check the same data types. Give it a few minutes, and your data will be visible there.
