I no longer can send iMessages from my iPhone (iOS 6.0.1) to one of my contacts.

Started about a week ago.  I can send them from my Mac, but not my phone.  Other iPhone users are receiving iMessages from me. Just not this one person.  I also note that in my contact info for her on my phone, I cannot select iPhone as her mobile device. Just "mobile".  She has an iPhone.  Very puzzled as to why this is occurring now.  Any thoughts?

Try this. I don't know I it will help but it solved a similar issue I had a while back. In the messages conversation with this person tap the time at the top of your screen to scroll to the top of the page and tap Contact. Are the messages being sent to the phone number or the email?
In my situation they where being sent to their actual email account and therefore where not received. This was the fix
From the contact of this person scroll down and tap Send Message then select the phone number from the options that pop up. Send a message and then check the Message app. In my situation that created a second conversation with that person which went to their phone number. I delete the old conversation so as I didn't get confused.
Long winded, I know. Not an easy thing to explain. Hope that helps

Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.  On that page, there is an option to 'Start New Conversations From'.  Select your phone number instead of your email address.

  • I cannot send some people a text from Messenger on my iPad but CAN send them from my iPhone

I don't understand why I can send a person a text message from my iPhone but when I try to send the same message to the same person from my iPad, it tells me it cannot send as the person isn't registered.  What does this mean.  Yet I can send messages to others on both the iPhone and my iPad.  Can you tell me what's going on?  Thanks

The iPad uses iMessage to send messages. iMessages can only be sent to iDevices like the iPhone, iPod and iPad. Apple products such as the iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, etc running Mac OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion and later can also send/receive iMessages.
    Hope this helps,

    Hello, Deb2015.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that messages sent and received from your iPhone are not showing up on your iPad.  I would check to make sure you have an internet connection on the iPad as this could be the cause.  If the issue persists, try the troubleshooting steps in the article below.

  • Now you can SEND MMS from the iPhone!!! (UK Only)

There is a WebApp called 'O2mms' (http://o2mms.net) which has been out for a while that allows O2 iPhone users to view MMS messages that have been sent to their phone without going through the long process of the O2 Portal.
This has just been updated so that O2 iPhone users can now SEND MMS from their phone via the native Mail.app on the iPhone.
It works out at around 37p per message, but the creator, Ross McKilliop, is working at bringing the price down (you pay securely via PayPal from your iPhone)
I have tried and tested it and am happy to recommend it

  • Can you send iMessages from one iPad to another? If so how can I do this? Thanks

I have just got a new iPad and I'm wondering if you can send iMessages from one iPad to another? We are currently trying this out and can only send iMessages from an iPad to an iPhone is this correct? Thanks

You can use the Messages app to send messages to any iOS device or to a Mac running Mountain Lion. So yes you can send a message to another iPad.
Both iPads have to have Messages set up and you need to contact the other iPad using an email addresses as the "you can be reached at" email address.
Do you have it set up correctly on both iPads?

However in my settings there is no option from enabling MMS. Pl advise

    Hi sudhirnagpal,
For MMS, that option should be in Settings > Messages with an option to just toggle on a off. I have provided and image that will show the location. If you are still having issues with sending a message, then take a look at the article below for more information.

  • How can I send imessages from my phone number instead of my email?

My phone reset and now my imessages only send from my email address instead of from my phone number. I tried settings> messages> send and receive and unchecked the email listed like i saw to try on previous questions, but instead of fixing my problem, it just made it so that now i cant send imessages whatsoever! How can i fix this? I just want to send imessages from my number instead of my email address!

    Hi gracem0324,
Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, and click on your Apple ID and sign out of Messages. Then sign on again. Sometimes it needs to reset itself....

The Ipdas are using IOS 6 and can text to other iphones by phone number or apple id. I have tried hard resets and did a full restore and still no success. I tried everything in your reply,,, thank you again,, I had done that once before and all was working great,,
I have just now tried the Reinstall via iTunes, about 20 into the download, the iTunes logo on the phone disappeared, and the Apple Logo appeared again,,, I waited until the iTunes stated that the download had finished, and the install was in progress,,,
Nothing happened, still the Apple Logo was visual on the screen, iTunes never recognised the phone which it was on my iTunes account previously,,,
Still just a bunch of lines, maybe 5 or 6 so small writing,, I personally can not read what it is telling me, someone said it reads, incorrect shutdown,,,????????
