What is the lowest iPlanet version supported with Windows 2003?

Oracle 9i and windows 2003 R2 installation issues

Hi All,
I have a windows 2003 R2 server with oracle 9.2.0.8 installed both OS and DB are 32bit. The server has 12gb ram and I therefore use AWE and /PAE, however when ever the number of connections exceeds >60 memory errors start to appear and sessions crash. Has anyone out there carried out a successful install of 9i and windows 2003 R2. Can anyone help with the resolution of these issues.

I’ve just restarted the server with its full quota of 16GB of RAM and selected both boot.ini switches (/PAE and /3GB) at server startup. I then amended the dbblock_lru_latches parameter from 128 to 64. Before I even started the database I tried running ‘ipconfig /all’ at the command prompt with the following result:
D:\Oracle>ipconfig /all
Windows IP Configuration
An internal error occurred: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.

Is there any known compatibility problem with running flash

My application runs just so well with Windows XP
yet it throws a 2015 bitmap error
when it is being run on the windows 2003 server.
(Not quite often but often enough. the only difference is the

MSI K9N Neo board- and Windows 2003 R2

Hello,
I am having some compatibility issues with running a K9N Neo board and Windows 2003 r2
--I cant get core center to run
--I cant get audio/sound to work, it is all installed except for one thing.
so then i killed by loading XP drivers that it did not like.
Does anyone have a list of the minmum drivers off my CD that i should install to get it going, or are they on the MSI site for W2k3? I could not find them.
This machine works totally fine with XP and Vista.

That is mostly correct, absolutely. But it happens that Microsoft thought-up some security measure or two that prohibits some - for example - updating procedures. Here is an example, but I doubt that is your problem. Please note the kb number, you don't have to learn Swedish.

Modificacion: Very few companies do I believe produce special 2003 drivers. Don't think I ever saw any MSI ones, anyway. Isn't it enough that XP and Vista works? Those are better for gaming, entertainment, VOIP and such.

Directory services and windows 2003

hello all i am new to the world of solaris. So the trouble is that we have a sunfire and i installed directory services 5.2 but windows 2003 refuse to join the domain at all... the sunfire box is in nat and there's an entry in the nat dns server. the question is: is it really possible for a win box to join the solaris ds? or only other solaris boxes can do it?

WRV54G and VPN and Windows 2003 Server

Hello. I use Windows 2003 Server on my laptop and trying to establish VPN into my WRV54G. QuickVPN is not compatible with the OS, so that's not an option. I tried the manual setup and I got to a point where I had to enter the destination IP address. I use a DynDNS address and so I won't have a static IP.
I'm using firmware version 2.39.2.

First thing i would like you to check is if you are able to "ping" the WAN ip address for the WRV54G.
Also what are the settings that you have on the WRV ??? typically the remote secure group and remote security gateway should be set at "any".
In the WRV...under the VPn go to advanced VPN and sset the mode to "agressive" , enable keep-alive and netbios broadcast....
let me know if this work or let me know a few more details.

Calendar Connector and Windows 2003 Server

I'm trying to get the connector setup and functioning on a windows 2003 server box with outlook 2003, however the install process generates several failures, and never is able to completely finish. Everything goes fine, until it gets to the point of copying files, at which point I recieve a warning about the uninstaller not functioning properly, so I will be unable to uninstall the application, then the installer generates an application error as soon as it finishes copying files. Below is included the OCSETUP.LOG file, should it provide any more information. Thanks for any help.

6140 and Windows 2003

Hi,
We have a 6140 connected to a Windows 2003 Server EE SP1. After volume creation via CAM (version 6.4.1.5), it can be viewed on Device Manager, but cannot be managed (under Disk Management). Server was restarted without success. Different profiles and pools was used, with the same result. Any idea?

Javac and WIndows 2003

Hello people;
First of all I apologise if this is not the right place for me .
I recently installed JVm and my PATH properly configured.
My OS is windows 2003 Standard Edition.
When i run
" C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\> java "
I get all the info ...as expected.
And also when i run
"java -version"
I get the version info.
BUT when i try to compile a java program eg
javac welcome.java
i get the following error :
"'javac' is not recognised as an internal command ........batch file " thing....
What do I do ?
Am i missing something.??

Go to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html and download J2SE SDK nothing else
Run the online installation
Say your installation root is the C drive
Set your execution path by entering the following line to your Autoexec.bat file
PATH=%PATH%;C:\J2SDK1~1.2_0\BIN
NOTE::
Folder names may be different but this is the folder name the SDK installer created in my machine. If different please enter the DOS names of the folders leading to the directory that contains the javac.exe

JRockit and Windows 2003 x64

Hi! We are planning to switch to Windows 2003 Server x64 based on EMT64 technology. We are currently running Platform 8.1 products. As I can see there's only a 32 bit version of JRockit available for 1.4.2_x jdk. For java 5 and 6 a special EMT64 version is available (when going to downloads). My questions are:
* Will an EMT64 version be available for 1.4.2.x (8.1 product range)?
* How much heap can the 32 bit version allocate on Windows x64 (EMT64)?

BEA Platform 8.1 SP6
The servers will primarily execute web service calls (jws type). Also some WLI processes will run here.
We have noticed that web service processing (parsing) constructs a lot of objects.
And now to my question:
Are there any JVM settings you would recommend or is out-of-the-box settings sufficient? Specifically in a scenario where a lot of object creation occurs.

My apologies for this simple question. I would appreciate your assistance and expertise for this as I think I have confused myself and I would appreciate clarification.
Running an SAP 4.6c system on SAP Kernel 46D_EXT2 32-bit with Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition 64-bit and ORACLE 10.2 64 bit.
Could you confirm that there is still memory address space limitations due to the 32-bit SAP kernel?
It is the SAP Kernel that determines the addressable operating system limit for R/3 extended memory under Windows NT?
Do I still need to set the 3GB option on the system to allocate more than 2.5GB of SAP buffers and extended memory space?
I have taken a look at SAP Notes 110172 and 129813, but I just need clarification?

Yes.

On a 64bit OS it is a bit different, effectively you can use 4 GB per workprocess.

Problems with Active Directory and Windows 2003

Hello,
I'm using Mac OS X Server 10.4.9 with Active Directory bound to a Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain. I can bind successfully to the domain using the graphical interface. Then in Samba I can access shared directories using Windows users. However, after some time somehow there are problems and Windows users aren't authenticated anymore on the Mac. I've looked at the firewall and there are no denied packets from the Mac. There are two servers in the domain, all clocks are synchronized and domain information is up to date. When I unbind the Mac, I can see the machine account being deleted on both domain servers and created too on both machines when I bind to the domain.
Problems occur when I try login in using ssh or samba do I think this is a problem with the AD module.
I turned on debugging messages on DirectoryServices:
sudo killall -USR1 DirectoryService
When in Windows, using the Administrator user I try:
net use \\10.0.0.1 /user:domain\Administrator
Where 10.0.0.1 is the Mac.
In the Mac I get from
tail -f /Library/Logs/DirectoryService/DirectoryService.debug.log |grep ADPlug

I really don't know what to do. The Windows Event log shows no messages. The link used to work and there have been no changes in the domain servers.

I tried the net use with a drive letter with and without the /user switch. When I use a domain user domain\user1 I can't connect. When I use a user local to the XServe it works.
When I use
net use x: \\10.0.0.1\share /user:domain\user1
I get prompted for a password, but it doesn't work.
I checked the firewall and all packets to or from the mac are accepted, no denied or dropped packages.
I already went through the MS document on fw ports. Before I opened to Kerberos ports the binding failed. No the binding work OK.
Some users who were authenticated yesterday still can access files using the Windows domain accounts. It's new users trying to connect those who have problems.

Cannot establish a link between MacPro and Windows 2003 Server

I just had an issue where we had a server crash. This server supports several PCs, as well as two Macs. The server has been brought back online and can communicate with all of the PCs. However, neither one of the Macs can now communicate with the server.
When I try to connect through the sidebar in the finder window, it will bring up the authentication window. But after I type in my password and hit enter, it gives me the message, "The alias "" could not be opened because the original item could not be found."
When I try to connect through Go>Connect to Server, it gives me the message, "The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "" could not be read or written (Error code -36).
My IT guy says that everything is alright with the server and that the problem has to be in the Mac settings. He does not know anything about Macs, however.
Can somebody help me out with this issue?

The only thing that comes to mind is a few settings in the Security Options of the Local Policy. Here's a link:

SCEP on ISE 1.2 and Windows 2003 Server

Hi there
has anyone ever be able to get SCEP on ISE 1.2 working with Windows 2003 Server? I know Cisco recommends Windows 2008 Server onwards, but sometimes the server infrastructure is not yet there.

Hmm, good question that I would also like to know the answer to. All of my deployments have been either 2008 or 2012. I believe long time ago I got it working in my lab with 2003 but then my 2003 server blew up so when I re-created it I did it with 2008. However, I cannot confirm 100% and even if it was true it was not in a full production environment. So it would be nice if someone else can chime in here.

Windows Server 2003, Microsoft SCEP (MSCEP) required a Resource Kit add-on to be installed on the same computer as the CA. In Windows Server 2008, MSCEP support has been renamed NDES and is part of the operating system. NDES may be installed on a different computer than the CA (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753784%28WS.10%29.aspx).
