Is it an idea for Apple to create a fingerprint-scanning home button?

Is it an idea for Apple to create a fingerprint-scanning home button, so the owner can get in without code? And if other people wants in on the iPhone, they need to be added for fingerprint scan, or given the usual 4 number code or the password.
I personally think so, and how cool would'nt it be to see it in a future iPad, iPhone or iPod?

  • New idea for apple

I have a great idea for Apple.  With a market cap fast approaching 600 billion, Apple should consider expanding their product base.  Apple should consider entering the automobile industry.  Apple could specialize in an automobile that revolutionizes the simplicity of what cars are really meant for, transportation.  The vehicle can be as simple as possible and allow passengers to fully integrate any Apple device or product into the design and function.
The vehicle can be totally top secret and be rumored to be the most fuel efficient vehicle in history.  Taking everything into account such as carbon output, battery life, affordability, safety, simplicity and maintenance.
The name can be "Apple Stem" or "Apple Branch" or "Apple Core" or "Apple Seed" or "Apple One, Two, Three, etc., etc.."
The vehicle could and should be marketed for all ages.  One line can be marketed for the first time driver through college.  Special financing can be available that would allow for excellent interest rates while allowing a young teen to establish good credit in the process.
Another line of vehicles could be geared toward the aging population, with full integration of voice map features to help drivers navigate.  The speakers can be mounted in the headrest so the hearing impaired can hear the directions more easily.  This vehicle would also be the most simplistic of all, with room to expand features as appropriate.
I have other ideas as well if you are interested.
    Regards,
    John

Apple does not accept unsolicited ideas. If you insist on sending them your idea according to  Apples policies the idea becomes the property of Apple and you loose all rights to it.
It would be better for you to develop the idea, then if it amounts to anything and Apple is interested they will contact you. (As with Apples current move to acquire Beats Electronics).

  • Why does my 4s keep returning tot the boot screen (apple logo) when I press the home button to see the lock screen?

3 or 4 times since I first fired up my iPhone 4S yesterday, it has displayed the boot screen (apple logo) when I press the Home button to display the lock screen. After 10-20 seconds the phone displays the lock screen, but at that point it has to search for a cell signal (as if the phone just booted up), which takes another 20-30 seconds.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Another thing that has happened only once, but that seems related, is that when I clicked the lock button on the top of the phone, the phone displayed the spinning circle that usually displays when an iPhone or iPad is shutting down.
Any ideas on what MIT be causing this?

Disk repair hasn't worked as well.
I just wanted to add a quick observation: after I tried the TM restore for the first time, Safe Boot in verbose mode seems to be stuck at this line "VBoxAdpDrv: version 3.1.0 r55467". This may point to the problem being a Virtual Box problem.
I use Virtual Box extremely rarely - haven't used it in many months. After a re-install, I'm going to remove it and then try the upgrade. If it works, then we've probably found the culprit. If it is real, Apple should maybe add a line saying Virtual Box known to cause problems with this upgrade (or fix it ).

You need to hold both those buttons down for several seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. Don't release until then.

  • Does apple replace my phone if the home button keeps falling off?

does apple replace my phone if the home button keeps falling off?

    Yes.
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5s. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:

  • IWeb '08 (2.0) Constructive Ideas For Apple?...

In an effort to be more constructive, I suggest these two things as a better way to bring old content into iWeb '08. If you have suggestions for Apple concerning the performance of, or issues with, iWeb '08 (2.0) post them here. Maybe we can think of some things they didn't...
Maybe Apple could do a download from site recovery/update tool/option? After the Domain file is corrupted, and if there is no backup, allow the user to download their previous work from their .Mac website into the Domain file.
Why not just use the contents of the Sites folder on the users iDisk to update the new Domain file instead of relying on the cluttered, bloated old Domain file? It's just web pages, scripts and elements...
Hey Apple! Listening?!? The above ideas are yours to have free of charge!!! Please just make iWeb 2.0 work for everyone! Please...
    Sincerely,

  • Some ideas for Apple

Here's some ideas for a future version of iTunes:
Why not have multiple genre listing available? For instance a track can be both 'Soundtrack' and 'Rock', or for crossover genres, both 'soul' and 'funk'.
Also, how about a customisable type of playlist creator that works like this:
You take tracks and join them together in 'trees', by linking them using a kind of rubber band device. The playlist then follows a random path through the music collection, but only following the branches of the tree - so you could get a smooth musical journey from one genre to another: Reggae --> dancehall --> drum n bass --> hardcore --> techno --> house. Or Rock --> Psychedelic rock --> Funk ---> Soul.
I've got a million more ideas like that if you guys at Apple want to offer me a job...

Reflect, since this is a user to user forum only, no one from Apple will see your ideas. This link will tell you how to submit feedback to the iTunes team.

  • Would it not be a good idea for Apple to block an iPhone from being restored if in lost mode?

Surely there should be more protection against this kind of thing. I lost my iPhone at the weekend, I believe it fell out of my pocket when I slipped over. I have searched for it where I slipped but cannot find it anywhere so I can only assume someone has picked it up. I immediately went on to iCloud to try and locate the phone, which worked for about a minute until the phone ran out of battery. The location backed up my suspicion that it had been picked up. I then turned on lost mode hoping that it may secure my phone a bit, to later find out that all it takes is for someone to restore the phone on iTunes and I won't be able to track it anymore.
I hope that the person that found my phone may be a good Samaritan and either hand it to the police or if they manage to charge it will see the message I have attempted to leave on lock mode and return it to me, however, I fear that will not be the case.
Would it be that hard for Apple to implement something that would stop a phone from being restored, when in lock mode, until the phone has lock mode turned off?

In the second and third paragraphs where I mentioned 'lock mode' I actually meant to write 'lost mode!'

  • Apple Icon won't go but home button broken

I have an ipod touch 4th gen.  It has the apple logo stuck and won't go any further.  I can't use the start button and home button to reset as the home button no longer works.  I've tried plugging it into the pc but it will not connect.  Any ideas?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HT1267 iphone only showing the apple icon I have done the home button with the sleep to restart it but it's not doing anything

can't locate the serial number the phone only shows the apple icon I charged it. I will only show the apple icon?

If you decide that you want to Restore the iPhone Firmware then. Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, then release the Power button, keep holding the Home button for about another 20 seconds, until iTunes recognizes the iPhone in Recovery Mode. If the iPhone screen is black this is good. Restore the iPhone Firmware. If you get Recovery Mode but the iPhone shows the iTunes screen you can try to Restore, but if it fails, do the instructions again until you get Recovery Mode with black iPhone screen.
